JQ still desperately needs Oceanic coverage. I’m afraid we aren’t going to win this week because every time the SoS Oceanic guilds log on the ppt for SoS reaches 400+. Good game this week though.
Isn’t a server’s rating determined by its its expected points and its performance against the top rated server rather than if it is in third or second. Im pretty sure you can still drop a tier if you place in second. it won’t garauntee your stay in t1. Extending an SoS lead will damage BG’s rating.
I’m not sure JQ will make it this week because guilds are only halfway transferred at this point. It will be close, but I know there are going to be a few more blackout attempts on JQ during Oceanic prime time to help Yaki get in. SoS will be able to take advantage of that. I think the really interesting fight will begin on the 28th when everything becomes more stable.
I wholeheartedly agree that Waha is an excellent commander and deserves all the accolades he can get. What makes him even better in my opinion is that he is totally understated and reserved about his accomplishments as a commander.
I do have one suggestion with regard to your post: Try not to mix trash talking with praise because it will derail the discussion and obscure the original intention of your post.
Blackgate is putting up a hell of a fight, and JQ does indeed have mesmers, thieves, culling, and largeish zergs.
I think it would be swell if they added a mystic forge recipe to upgrade the triforge to ascended quality.. It is basically the legendary of neck trinkets, after all.
I think all of JQ will collectively mourn the day that RG packs their bags and returns to the servers across the big pond. Let’s hope that day is much later than sooner.
You may be right that SoR could replace BG in the next matchup because of huge population shifts. That being said, I think everyone who plays WvW in T1 knows that BG is a great server full of skilled WvW guilds and that BG deserves its hard earned place in T1.
JQ isn’t listening. It’s our server’s fault. This guy mycellium from WPAK was trolling me the entire time I was trying to get people to log off in the BL. I challenged him to a duel and killed him 3 times in a row, which made me feel better. But that is an example of the problem. A really poor player trying to discourage people from doing what’s best for the server. People aren’t taking the transfers seriously, and we are going to lose out because of it.
No. SoS was able to get ND into their server, despite the fact that they are arguably more populated than JQ. They just have better coordination for blackouts.
Well we ought to have a few people from notable guilds calling out in LA that people should log. One person should be posted in each borderland and in EB as well. We will know it’s working when our ppt drops to 0. Aim for 0 ppt.
Someone needs to go into Lion’s Arch and other pve areas as well as WvW and convince those people that logging out will be good for the server. As it stands now we are listed as full.

Hats off to BG and in particular a 3-4 man crew from Hands Off My Octopus—well 1 from Rev—that had really good stun and stealth coordination and maybe a 4 – 6 man crew from Thai that never gave up a camp they were guarding. Both of those groups gave me some memorable fights this week. Also, I had some awesome fights with a thief from Sexy, though I don’t remember what server he or she is from. Shout out to you Sexy thief. I see you running solo all the time looking for good fights. Hope to see you out there next week.
Suggesting that guilds should look elsewhere for the sake of increasing competitiveness in t1 has nothing to do with playing properly. I’m sure we all use a keyboard and a mouse to move about and play the game, which is proper and I hope for your sake ergonomically correct. All jokes aside, I think you you mean proper in the sense of some higher moral or ethical standard, and if that’s the case consider this: surely promoting competitiveness in t1 is a greater good than maintaining an SOS blowout since an even spread of players across servers helps far more people than SOS increasing their blowouts ever would. It’s a utilitarian approach to T1, and in that sense is highly proper.
SoS does not need anymore people. You have already won every week but one you have been in t1. It’s time for guilds to consider transferring to the other t1 servers to make t1 more competitive and fun for all.

15k from the standard combo on a bunker spec? You have lost all credibility after saying that. Running cleric gear and pvt armor will result in 1-2.5k burning speed if you crit, 2.5k firegrab if you land it and crit, and 1.2k ring of fire. What are you talking about 15k aoe? Usually the total is somewhere around the middle, around 4.5k, and that’s being generous. Also, firegrab misses 50% of the time. Bunker builds do mediocre damage. You will get nowhere near 15k from the current bunker build O.O.
You can spike like a thief on an ele? I seriously doubt that. Ele damage is mediocre compared to thief burst. You might get a 5k firegrab if all the stars align in your favor.
I can now achieve 69% crit damage and 48% crit chance with food, and I still maintain 1661 toughness and 620 healing. If I switch up food I can have 59% crit damage, 48% crit chance and 720 healing, or 620 healing and 1771 toughness. I change food depending on how the day goes. Being kited by too many pistol thieves? More healing. Anyway, I’ve been considering using a sigil of bloodlust as opposed to what I’m using now, a superior sigil of corruption. I will have to test it out.
I don’t agree that we should be able to whisper opposing forces. Anonymity suits the format, since the goal of WvW is to attack an entire server rather than one individual. If you want to talk to a singular opponent you do have the option to invite them to your party, and it is up to that opponent whether to accept your request or deny it. I’ve been on the receiving end of nasty /whispers before the report function was fixed, and let me tell you no one should be subjected to flaming or trolling just because they win or lose a battle. Block is not the solution. The game is fine the way it is. Stop the poor behavior before it happens.
@Minoru – I have all PVT after buying the karma set and using 6/6 dolyak runes. I also have the PVT backpack but even when I use all ruby jewelry instead of my clerics, I still find my damage less than if I go 30 into fire and at least 20 air. Is the damage you are seeing in your build still using the 0/10/0/30/30 trait setup? Currently with my setup I have around 20,533 HP and over 1600 toughness. ^^ PM if you wish with the details of your build // I’m interested in how it could work
Yes it is. If I crit it hurts peope, and I still maintain excellent toughness and healing power. You’ll have to be a scrooge and save your money, and yes, you’ll have to farm to get my build. I’ll tell you more in game.
so im guessing AC gear for these stats?? just wondering cause atm i only have like 350 toughness im wondering how in the world can i get 1600-1700 toughness and still have enough stats in heal pwr and pwr to do dmg :/ im using greens atm so im guessing exotics give that much of a boost to defense ??
Spend some time running either AC or HotW, or you could use karma or WvW badges of honor actually, and collect all P/V/T armor and daggers. Use all exotic cleric jewelry and invest in a P/V/T back piece as well. This should put you up between 1600-1700 toughness. You can actually modify this build a bit, as I have, and end up with 1700 toughness, 600 healing power, and 60% (actually now 59%) critical damage. It’s the most killer build out there for WvW and it will eat other standard 0/10/0/30/30 healing eles up in 1v1s. They won’t know what hit them because you can out heal their damage and burst them down. It’s an expensive build, though. Send me a whisper if you want to know more about it.
If you are going to be using P/V/T gear stay in the range of 1600-1700 toughness. Anything more is really overkill. As for healing power, try to keep it over 500, and dodge in water if you have the evasive arcana trait. That will provide enough healing power and defense to out heal your opponent’s initial burst, assuming that said opponent isn’t a thief using a macro.
Switch your utilities and weapons depending on the stage and boss. I’ve found ether renewal to be the best heal for the lava boss since it cures his burning spam while healing. Use scepter/focus for the uncategorizable jumping puzzle map for swirling winds and obsidian flesh to overcome the harpies instant knockdowns. I also use scepter/focus for jade maw since obsidian flesh will save me if I am out of endurance and cant get to a crystal in time. Use dagger/dagger for the svanir boss. Overall I’d say staff is a bad choice and you’d do better with scepter/dagger. Meteor shower is just too unreliable for dps. If you aren’t swapping your weapons you aren’t using your ele to his full potential.
