Now tell me how condition damage fits into that role.
I sometimes get the feeling the internet is full of kittens. More often, I see it confirmed.
Longbow + S/x is a pretty common bunker build for warriors that uses conditions. Pretty powerful because you only need to invest in condition damage for your damage output while burst builds need to invest in PPC. While this isn’t a traditional mid-bunker like a guardian, it still has the ability to out-sustain opponents while holding nodes, which is the function of a bunker.
The ‘good’ WvW players are usually just as bad as the PvE bads. Berserker Gear not being viable is some weird myth such people set up. Even in PvP, Berserker is almost always preferable to other non-bunker/condition damage variants. Teams use 2-3 people with berserker gear and none with soldiers/knights/whatever. Berserker gear offers a much higher damage output for no loss in survivability against conditions and only a minor one against direct damage. However, in WvW zerging Soldiers might be your choice, just keep retaliation up. The amount of times I saw warriors using Axe 5 in WvW makes me sad, I usually just take those hits and lose 3k health, while the opponent takes about 12k damage meanwhile.
Many “Zerker Only” groups don’t even know what “Zerker Only” means.
I have seen cleric staff spammers, shout warriors, bearbows and condi necros in “Zerker Only”. When I comment about it after the run,the party leader would be completely bamboozeled, because he thought player X was zerker.
Gear checks help you find the ones trying to sneak by.

I noticed that the word “opinion” is being tossed around carelessly is most forums I have been. It’s usually used when someone has no more counter-argument to raise (sometimes, it’s name calling, ie: fanboy).
If I say GW2 sucks because it’s boring, that’s an opinion.
If I say Sunrise is better than Twilight because it’s more uncommon, that’s an opinion.
If I say that a dungeon post is correctly moved to dungeon section, it’s a fact simply because there is a forum description to back it up.
Look, I get what this thread is all about. I really do. I also get that OP wants to bring this to ANet, that’s why it’s originally posted on GD. I would’ve done the same. But when ANet’s mods did the right move, don’t QQ. For once they did something correctly.

Gw2wvw.net seems like the place for the fact that the administrator has publicly stated his willingness and desire to work with the WvW community in making the space the best it can be for its purpose.
Warriors are the best class in this game, best at PvE/ good at PvP.
No build in this game can have mobility/landspeed/tankiness/dps/healingsignet/good cc all in one build. But warriors can. Thief should have good mobility because if they get caught they are pretty much kittened. If warriors get caught " oh here is endure pain". Condi class? berserker stance " yeah your condis arent doing kitten, here is some cc necro get kittened". Oh kitten im going down? shield 5 —- leap on sword – switch to gs 3 and 5 and bulls charge to finish it off. No can catch that. Im not saying its impossible to kill a warrior in fact most of their skills are pretty easy to dodge in 1 v 1 scenario but when they kittening start to run after you get them to 20-30% hp and while they are running they are regening HP is kittened. If the range was less i would be much happier. I’m not saying they are in the wrong for running but running to the point where they can get ooc in less then 4s is broken in wvw open field.

Come on buddy, I expected more from you. For utilities, most warriors run stability (dolyak signet or balanced stance), endure pain/bull’s charge, and berserker stance. Your theoretical build is already false because you are stupid if you don’t run stability.
Second, no one uses greatsword + sword/x unless they are purposely trolling, which means they can’t kill you. It’s quite simple. Viable builds with greatsword include mace/shield, hammer, or longbow, all weapons that do NOT add to mobility.
There is a clear distinction between the two camps.
How I want to play is the best possible way I can play. I use DPS meta builds and tactics because that is the best possible way one can play.
How others want to play are based on misguided notions and false beliefs. They use inefficient non-DPS builds and tactics because they think that is the best possible way one can play.
You put a lot of work in this guide, and its very well excecuted. I’m sure many warriors will learn from this. That alone deserves a “well done”.

Regardless of method used, this fellow took the time out of his day to make a video for other people to learn Lupicus. We can see that a lot of people are intimidated by Lupi and Arah in general so this is the one of the steps in educating newcomers about a fun boss and dungeon.
If you want to play with like-minded people in PUG’s, here’s what you do:
1) Get friends and guildies that know how to speed clear. This is the best way to ensure a good party.
2) If you need to pug, do your best to bring at least 1 other speed clear buddy with you so that you have “party power”.
3) Use the LFG tool and state what you’re looking for. Screen people by having them ping their gear. For example: Zerker/Ping Gear/All Paths
Most of the time, people know not to join parties that are this specific. You will attract people that have nothing to hide and will gladly show you their (most of the time) zerker gear. You do get people that don’t read from time to time, but you can easily remove them.
It’s sometimes a PITA to screen people, but the dis-utility from wiping is higher than the dis-utility of waiting a couple more minutes.
No offense, you guys really need to start using a different TS server. Apparently the one you guys are using is either not very good or too popular and attracts lots of trolls…
What sucks is i can’t find a group to do it. My guilds stance on it is “i’d rather do fractals 1000% of the time given the choice between them” and PUGS refuse to take me because i haven’t done arah explorable before. Throw in getting kicked from a group yesterday just because I was a necro and its starting to get really frustrating. I’ve pretty much been eyeballing LFG for the last 3 days trying to find a group just to try a path. I even started my own group but as soon as i admited i hadn’t done any of the explorable runs they all left. I tried again with a “no experience required” group and no one even bothered to join. I’ve never had so much trouble finding a group for a dungeon for any mmo i’ve ever previously played and many of them didn’t even have an lfg system.
This might be pretty harsh for you but generally, necro is a suboptimal class for dungeons in this game. There is a stigma against necros and rangers that stem from stereotypes associated with the two classes. Unfortunately, it seems to be quite difficult to be good as a dungeon necro. My humble suggestion is for you to roll a more dungeon-optimal class like warrior, guardian, or mesmer. You can still play your necro in modes like WvW and PvP.
If you decide that you will stick with necro, be sure to wear full berserker gear/traits and in your LFG posts, signal to others that you are experienced by pinging your gear or specify berserker. I’m not saying it’s right, just simply suggesting things for practicality.
By buying guilds, would you mean Jade Quarry paying ATM to stay on JQ?
Or buying MERC who were already on another tier 1 server?
Or buying 3 EU guilds for leagues?
Jade Quarry has no moral footing to stand on. They had the easiest draw, they spent 20,000 gold buying guilds before the season, and they still failed.
Jade Quarry has the coverage to match Blackgate. In the easy matchups, their maps were queued throughout the day, but they chose not to show up when it mattered.
Perhaps next season, Jade Quarry’s gold would be better spent on buying some server pride….
JQ did not have to do anything to keep ATM because ATM was never leaving in the first place.
JQ did not buy MERC, we had approached them at one point in an attempt to get more than 30 people on between 12pm cst and 5 am cst and nothing came of it. Weeks later, things were rekindled and while some gold was given to help get them over, MERC paid for themselves to transfer.

You actually approached MERC? Knowing it would tip the balance in a whole timezone? that ATM force wasn’t enough? I just lost a kitten ton of respect for JQ, not that I had much for them to begin with….

To both of you in regards to the bread jokes. Don’t read them. Move on and get over it. Others enjoy it, if you ain’t one of them… then there is no need to bring it up.

Like most Anti-Blackgate propaganda, the 2v1 was fabricated by the SoR trolls and IRON trolls. From what I can tell, any one that really matters on SoR is re-focusing on there community and rebuilding there vision of fun and worrying less about map politics. I know most these comments are meant to be jabs at each other but keep in mind a lot of what was said in week 2 was said by people that are no longer on SoR.

TBH, part of the “selfishness” is Arena Net’s fault for not having a more detailed combat log. If players could see how much of their damage and healing comes from other players, they’d have a bit more of a clue about why teamwork pays off.
Pretty sure it comes from the pug mentality of “well I suck, so probably the rest of this group will suck too, so every man for himself!”
This mentality is so illogical. Instead of trying to elevate players to a certain standard of play, everyone defaults to mediocrity and selfishness that just gimps the entire party.
Won’t happen. Not with BG losing some guilds(mainly ZDS) and SoR gaining quite a bit of guilds in a week or two.
Contrary to popular belief, ZDs leaving (if they decide to, keep in mind) won’t be enough to effect Blackgate. Winning week 1 without MERC together and with ZDs still in their home server meant that Blackgate was strong enough as it was. The times that ZDs came on were time slots that had queues. Blackgate’s interest in WvW has only grown in the past weeks with all the chest bumping, we will only a dull a bit.
I do hope SoR stays in Tier 1, I haven’t heard anything about other guilds coming in so that is refreshing to hear.
BG won match 1 because it was in SoR’s and BG’s best interest to keep the strongest server at the time, JQ, in third place. The second week BG was down nearly 20K by the end of the weekend, then ZDs transferred and by monday BG had taken the lead. And ZDS is leaving. They never intended to stay. There’s no “if”.
Yes, so Blackgate won match 1. We won even though SoR was the number 2, keep in mind. It was one mission to keep JQ third place because of the schedule, but its another to overtake SoR when you were considered the third wheel.
Also, its traditional for Blackgate to suffer the weekends. Our weekday coverage is far better though, anyone who played long enough against Blackgate will attest to that. ZDs helped and I am thankful for what they have done but in the end the point stood that Blackgate still had the forces already regardless during the weekdays.

SoR was in the lead the majority of the matchup when we 2v1’d JQ. Then during wed. the 2v1 shifted against SoR which is when BG took the lead. It wasn’t until thursday night that the 2v1 shifted back to JQ. Pretty much everyone who was there that week knew what happened. There’s nothing special about working 2v1s against your enemies when they are focusing each other.
Based on his posting history, he must be a fairweather transfer that decided to chest-thump his bandwagon skills. Just look at his signature. All dynastic franchises that have nothing in common except that they win a lot and have fans because of it.
I would like to congratulate all the commanders, WvW players, and everyone who ran around and scouted. All the people who zerged, havoc’d, and kept our glorious in 1st place earned this.

Congrats on coming out fighting this week and your hard fought battle for 4th place versus TC. Although you lost in the end for the top 3 spot and TC has taken your place as a T1 server, you showed a tremendous amount of courage and heart. Your ability to rebuild ac’s is still unsurpassed in gw2 history. How you rebuild siege so fast,do nothing but defend structures, and are still out there “caring just about the fights” is a testament to your skill and fortitude as a server. I think this ability is truly the cornerstone of what brought you up to T1 on that long glorious road. I hope you can rebuild in T2 and BG/JQ I’m sure look forward to giving you a grand exit next week in our last match.

You are naive if you think TC qualifies as tier 1…tier 1.5 at best, unless TC suddenly got some crazy transfers that I don’t know about, I would still put my bet on SoR beating TC any other week without JQ or BG in the matchup, even without IRON. Your post is brave…the sarcastic tone is in poor taste as well. Making a post like that makes your guild look trashy, but…that isn’t saying much no one I know ever really considered/considers SG a threat, at least in open field fights. I don’t understand the remarks toward SoR, it should be in everyone interest to keep SoR, or any other server, alive and healthy for the sake of competition. Poking fun at them is just pathetic, especially coming from JQ… 2nd place to BG and still talking kitten. lol

For weeks, while you were starting to command, a lot of SOR commanders gave you sound advice and tried to guide you including me. Kindly refrain from doing this, it does not speak well of your character.
