I see what you are saying. That would be a better way if doing it. Instead of getting the title for just equipping them. Make a title for the actual crafting of the legendaries. I don’t know how they would track something like that but I can see that being it instead of the current achievement.

The problem is that the achievement isn’t for crafting a legendary, but for equipping it. So you can easily buy the title.

While I agree with what you said, the same could be said for the miniatures. All it takes is a friend with all the mini’s to send them to you, you put them in your collection and then you have the title. Then you just send the mini’s back to your friend.

At least with buying the legendary, that takes a huge amount of gold to buy 5 of them. Plus once they get equipped, you cant just sell them off again. So with that you sill technically earned the title by buying the legendary with that much gold I suppose.

I tried to post in suggestions but it would not let me so I am just going to post this here.

I just finished my 5th legendary and while I am very happy to complete the “Legendary Collector” achievement, why is there no title for this? I have worked very hard to make 5 legendaries and it would be nice to have a title I can give to my toon to show this hard work. There is one for “Miniature Collector” for the 1st year set so why not make a title for the hardest items to make in the game?

No, I think the 2nd year ones have been available… Its the 1st year ones that were not available anymore but the ones posted are the 2nd year.

Am I missing something? At the time of this posting, it says the 3-Mini pack for year 2 is on sale for today for the exact same price as they usually go for of 300 gems. Am I missing something? Is is broken?

The main point was not about who does or does not need it really. You will note that I put in my OP “I know some people could use it but why just A crafting booster that most people don’t need.” It just would be nice to put all boosters on sale to give everyone the choice of what they wanted/needed. The point was asking why would you just put a single booster on sale, and that booster being one that not too many people would actually need unless they are fairly new to the game.

I know opening black lion chests keeps giving me crafting boosters I just have no use for anymore. It would be nice to be able to trade those in for something I can use instead of taking up bank space. I use every other booster except that one plus the recent update to the black lion chest removed the most useful one. I would like to be able to get rid of these crafting boosters that I technically paid for and get the much needed Karma Booster or just be able to get some from the gem store with a sale price. I just could not understand why a single booster was put on sale.

I knew I would never get an answer but I wanted to really see if this bothered anyone else. I also knew there would people who have to point out that I am just another complainer. I just would like to know why have a sell like that. If they want to have people spend more gems, put more than just one thing on sale at a time that has a category like boosters. Am I wrong in this thinking?

Come on Anet, we wait every day patiently hoping for something we really want to go on sale, and you put A CRAFTING BOOSTER? Its the most useless booster if you already have all your crafting done which many people do. I know some people could use it but why just A crafting booster that most people don’t need.

Why not put all boosters on sale at the same time? I have over 400 crafting boosters doing me no good. I’d love to be able to get some Karma boosters. Especially since you removed them from the black lion chests.

Maybe even put in a booster exchange merchant so we can get the boosters we want and at the same time get rid of the boosters that we no longer need/want. Make it have a cost like 2 boosters to get 1 or cost like 10 silver each exchange…something??

I think the problem is the escort’s don’t stop and wait for us to kill the mobs…killing the mobs is what counts to the credit. I noticed none of the escorts stop, they just rush through all the mobs agroing everything and since we have to try and keep them alive, there is no chance to kill the mobs.

I really want to keep the look the flamekissed has. I always liked the T3 cultural but really did not want to pay 120g for it and this has the awesome flame effect. You should not be forcing those of us who have it already and actually like it to use the new skin. I personally hope you offer to let us keep the skin looks and give us the choice to update to the new one if we want too. Thanks

Not sure WTF is going on but in my last post I wrote "Bifrost that I made and worked very hard———on (without the dashes) but for some reason it shows as “Bifrost that I made and worked very kitten”. Even when I edit it, It shows what I wrote…Forum bug???

All I can say is thank god for the trading post… “THANK YOU ANET” I really hated in GW1 trying to sell something like a mini and constantly having to check with people what the going rate was. Which of course is not reliable because one person may know more then another and other players could take advantage of someone buying a item off them for much lower than it should be or someone selling something higher than what it should be.

I don’t like the idea of farming resource nodes for days on end just so I can get my crafting professions up. Hoping in the super slim chance that the specific precursor I need will randomly drop. I can just open the TP, see the prices, and decide if I want to buy or need to earn more money to get it. That is how the real world works. Supply and demand. It would be pointless if my Bifrost that I made and worked very kitten was so easily accessible that 40% of the people in the game had it. It would no longer be special to me. Just like in GW1, being ran to the town with the best armor was in no way earning it so it looses its personal value in the game.

I would like the vendor back too however, you do know you can sell them in the trading post… Something to think about as Wintersday comes back next year.

So I tried testing this with a skin in the achievement panel and got the confirmation box with all salvage kit types. I don’t know if I am willing to use a gem store skin to test this but so far it seems to be fine with achievement skins and i even tested the same with a Wintersday staff skin. It may be as it was said by the OP, limited to gem store skins. Ill let you know if I get the nerve to try a gem store skin I don’t need/want.

While I like most of the changes made to the black lion chests, you removed one of the best things I get out of them which is the Karma Booster. I just cant understand why you would remove it. It seems like you are doing everything to remove our ability to make Karma. Out of all of the boots to be removed, you should have removed the crafting one. I have 377 of them and have absolutely no use for them since I have all crafting professions maxed. Once maxed, there really is no reason to have them. Granted I use one once and in while to level a character but beyond that, they are just useless to me now and yet I use the Karma boosters all the time. PLEASE change it from Karma to the crafting booster or just put Karma booster back in. Thanks.

So since the patch that changed the clocktower to give 20 Empryreal Fragment, the end chest gives nothing now. My first run, I got the 20 fragments and nothing else. Since then the chest has given nothing. Is this a bug or did you basically take the fun out of doing another event?

Why did you exclude the awesome skins from last year? I know many people including myself were looking forward to getting a Ghastly Grinning Shield Skin or the Chainsaw Greatsword skin since we could not from last year? Why did you remove them and only give us a choice of 5 new skins that are no where near and cool looking. I don’t the reasoning behind this. They were the best skins imo and they were already coded in the game so why remove them? I know I won’t get a reply from Anet about this but I also want to see other peoples view. Thanks

I think the primary reason they made it PVP was to make all PVE speed boosts and such not work.

I know this is not really a bug but when the Sclerite weapon skins were added, the Dragon Jade skin’s were removed and I still have two Dragon jade tickets that I was saving for when I would need them. Am I basically S.O.L. now? I know when skins seem to come back, they need the new black lion scraps so are my tickets worthless now? Thanks.

First, sorry if there is another post about this. I can’t seem to search the forum for some reason. I have noticed since a fairly recent patch that salvaging rares with the black lion salvage kit seems to not produce as many globs of ectoplasm as it used to. It seems like since the clockwork chaos patch(or around there) I am lucky to get at least 1 from a lvl 80 rare now. On a rare occasion I will see a 2 or a 3 from them. An example would be I just salvaged 100 lvl 80 rare armors and I only got 72 globs. I used to get a little over the number of armors I would salvage and almost every one would salvage at least 1 glob with others giving 2-3 much more often than it is now. It seems to be acting like a master salvage kit and I have to wonder if something got messed up in the code.

I know there are extensive tests done to find the rate of salvage kits and such but I don’t know if any have been done since the recent patch for the black lion kit. I really would like to know if someone has done this or if Anet could check and see if the kit is messed up somehow. Anyone else who uses the black lion kits notice this as well? I have gone through over 10 kits since that patch now and its been the same the whole time. Since rares are our only viable source for globs now, its rather important to check this. Thanks

Why is it you are the one to say what our priorities are. I don’t play the game to do PVP, WvW, or run dungeons till I’m blue in the face. I play play the game to enjoy the PvE content and collect the mini’s. That is my PRIORITY. Just because its not your priority does not mean we have to conform to what you think we should focus on. Our focus has been the mini’s since the beta and to basically say they will have it again at other events does nothing for us. So what if they release more codes at another game convention. That does me little good. I am not going to fly to China or what ever just so I can get this mini. I would happily work hard in the game to buy it off the TP but I cant because someone in their infinite wisdom decided to make it impossible to obtain unless I go to these said events or pay absurd monies on eBay. That’s just not acceptable.

The T-shirt code is a great example of the problem but it has a different story. While it was exclusive, it was not something that is programmed in the game as a common collectable. I may never get that t-shirt but its not something I have been trying to collect since the beta. Mini pets were originally put in GW1 to be traded amongst other players. By making it account bound, they have completely defeated their entire purpose in the game. We collect the mini’s because we could. There was always a way to get them in the game, whether it was hard work or paying gems for it. To make us fly to another place in the real world, to enter some community contest and wish on dumb luck we get it, or go to eBay and pay absurd amounts of money for this mini is just giving the finger to the entire point of mini’s.

The fact that Anet is stringing us along like this is just absurd. All we want to know is if there is ever going to be a way to get them IN GAME. As long as we know that, then I am willing to wait and have a hole in the collection. That is what my priority is.

I can agree with you, it is a bit of OCD but as a collector, the ultimate goal is to get all of them. Comic books are a great example, if someone collected every issue from a specific series only to find that the last issue made was only available in a limited print of 10 books and those were given to various museums or something(not normal but best thought I could come up with). How would that collector feel about having spent all that time, energy, and money on his passion only to know that he will never get that last issue unless he robs the museum lol. To a collector, its just something we need and we feel incomplete if there are ones we cant get.

The biggest problem I am having with this whole issue is the lack of response from Anet about it. They never even announced anything about a exclusive mini that only visitors of PAX or the meet and greet would get. I know I cant afford to fly to those places to get this mini let alone pay the enormous prices on eBay, but I could afford $10 in the gem store or convert some gold to gems for it AND to make it account bound so there’s never a way to get it makes it even worse. These are the reasons this is really lighting me on fire.

My previous post in Clockwork Chaos is locked now that it is over so I am creating a new post to continue the discussion. Many of us re outraged by the fact that you have created a mini that nobody can get because its account bound and the only way to get it is to have attended PAX, some other convention, or pay lots of insane money on eBay. So far Anet has had no comment on this and I want to know why they have alienated the Mini Collectors.

I have worked very hard to get every mini and up to now, I have been proud of it. You have release a mini that can only be received via a game code. A code that I would have had to fly to another state or country to get. On top of that, the mini is account bound so even if people get the code, there is no way to trade it to someone who actually wants it. Thus, the reason they are on eBay going for absurd amounts of money.

Why are you punishing us Anet? Have we not spent lots of money on gems already getting the other mini’s? Why would you slap us in the face with this. Why will you not give us an explanation or info that will give us some kid of relief that we will have a chance to get it. I would have no problem if there was some way to get it in the game as well but to be forced to travel or turn to eBay, REALLY?

I know there will be others who share my view and as well there will be people who think I’m just whining or will point out other things that makes this seem crazy. A great example is the mini’s in GW1. There were many mini like the Panda that were exclusive and very rare. The major difference is those were trade-able. Mr. Sparkles is account bound so this is no way the same as that example. I am just so saddened to have worked so hard for my mini collection, only to see this forever empty space in it now. I just want some peace of mind knowing that I have not been doing this for nothing. Thank you.

All I know is this is turning out to be a joke. Now the codes are appearing on eBay. A Buy it now for $500 and bids starting at $50. Anet is basically forcing people to go to eBay and spend money there and for outrageous amounts and to those people selling the codes, you sicken me because you took the code knowing you just wanted to sell it from someone who really wants one and trying to make a huge profit off our desperation. It is just sickening. Congrats Anet, you have made people sink to levels I never though we would. The least you could do is reply to this and comment on the lows you are making us go to.

Well the max I would pay is 800 gems since they have been at least 400+ for them and that would be $10 or about 42g. Its a high price to pay to make sure I have a complete collection but I would pay.

You all are severely overreacting. There is nothing wrong with having an incomplete set. There is no such thing as having a complete coin collection. It would cost millions of dollars and even if you did have the money, some coins are so rare you’ll probably never be able to find one or find a seller. But if you collect, then you should know good and well that for some coins, you’re just out of luck. Same with Mr. sparkles.

You can’t ask anet for what you’re demanding. What if anet releases more skill based minis or tournament minis like in gw1? Going to complain that you are entitled to pvp minis even though you don’t want to pvp?

Yes, I agree maybe its “unfair” how Mr. sparkles was distributed, but there is nothing wrong with having exclusive minis. It’s not unfair that some people have lambourghinis parked in their garage and you don’t.

Clearly not a collector. Even people like me who had soo much trouble getting the Liadri mini (Being that an elementalist as my main) finally got it after lots of hard work and trying different things. This would be different if the mini was not account bound. How does me being skilled have anything to do with being required to Fly to Germany or go to a PAX convention to get the mini?

At least in GW1 there was a way to trade for them (how ever little chance there was to do so) but in this case, they are account bound so unless you do those two things, there is no way for us to get them(assuming that is what is needed to get them). That is the BIG difference between what we are talking about vs what you are talking about. Why make in game items that are collectable but only certain people can collect. That is why we are fuming.

I have yet to see anything to prove or disprove how these are obtained but so far this does seem to be the case. I wish someone who has one already could confirm this and maybe provide a pic or something to show how they got it or if Anet could just tell us what is going on. This is just sickening to me to go through everything I have to get all these mini’s but think that there is one I can’t ever get. My hope is that the mini was given as a prize at these meet and greet events or things like PAX but will also be offered in the gem store for what ever the cost. If someone from Anet could just please bring us into the light, we can all stop wondering and finally have some piece of mind, or if our efforts were for all for naught. Thanks.

So far I have had zero luck. I know they must be available in some way because they are appearing on the TP but nobody seems to know how or is just speculating. The two most recent things I heard is you need to combine the Twisted Mini’s in the Year 2 mini pack to make them however I have yet to see a single person confirm this or a recipe on what is needed. Also you supposedly can get them in the Mystic Forge randomly combining the mini’s like normal. I am assuming that is where the ones on the TP came from.

If anyone can confirm or provide the correct details on how to get these, i would be grateful. I collect the mini’s and want to make sure I have a chance to get them before the event ends. I don’t want to find out 2 days before it ends and then have no time to get them.

It would be even better if someone from Anet can confirm how to come by these or when they are available. I know it may sound weird but to me this is the most important thing I do in the game and have worked real hard to get them all. Any help would be great. Thanks

While reddit may be a good source for discussion, I wanted to post here because I know this is a place Anet looks at and and my hope is to get an official response on this. To make a account bound mini that very few people can get would just be plain wrong and I want someone from Anet to please explain their reasoning for this or explain what the future plans are for letting regular jo’s like me to get that mini. I hope this plea does not go unanswered like many others in this forum.

This is total and complete bull crap. If there really will be no other way to get these mini’s then Anet has officially lost my money on all future gem purchases to get Mini’s. I have spent probably thousands+ dollars on gems at this point and even have to contact Anet several times to purchase more because I keep hitting some monthly spending limit. I just cant fathom why they would do the same thing they did in GW1 and basically nerf mini collecting. This just sickens me to the core.

Yea, its completely wrong to make an account bound mini that hardly anyone will be able to get. As a collector I would be VARY unhappy to find this out and will refuse to pay anymore gems to get mini’s because up to this time, I have been able to get them all and there is no point if I am not allowed to get this one. My collection would forever be incomplete. Its GW1 all over again with the Mini Panda and other special minis that were given to Tournament players and such. At least those were tradeable but it was nearly impossible to get still. It would be a big screw to those who are dedicated to getting mini’s.

The queen mini’s will probably be sent via mail and will only get one per account for when it was created and not per character birthday.

edit: Had a guild check and he says you can’t but the golems from guild coms into the forge. I don’t have a screen shot to prove it though. :/

Sadly I dont have any of the Guild Golems because they need a total of 75 commendations and I only have 12 so far. I don’t expect to get them any time soon so if it does need them, that will suck because by my estimate, it would take me a year to get those 3 mini’s at 2 commendations a week (T2 Bounty per week) and then another year to get them again. If that is the case, its really stupid.

I have played with many variations to see if Zojja or any other mini for that matter had anything to do with it and so far no minis will combine in the forge with Zojja(except the other rares but not willing to try any combination of those.). So at the moment it is still unknown how to get Mr Sparkles and I have a feeling, its going to be something released during the Birthday event.s

Yea, it has to be be one of each of the twisted. They cant be the same ones, there are 2 Fine, 1 Masterwork, and the 1 Rare. The Exotic it makes seems to be random however I did it 3 times and each time I got one of the 3 that I did not have so I am not sure if there is a chance you could get a duplicate or not.

Well I took a wild chance and tried to forge:

Mini Peacemaker Shocktrooper
Mini Peacemaker Sharpshot

and ended up just getting another Mini Inquest Golemcaster so that thought is out.

Scratch that last reply, just realized it does not work.

Interesting thought however I don’t think that would make sense. I do wonder if the other year 2 inquest asuras do it but then I don’t think it would make an account bound mini. I have been debating trying it but it would be a costly mistake if it does not work.

I know i was told that it ended today so I have over 500 I have been saving for today to use that special double banner with only to find I could not turn them in. Many people online thought it was today as well because Anet was never clear on what time the voting ended. This is a common problem in the game. They are never clear when things really end so a lot of our votes were never made. I feel if we were properly given the time remaining the in the game, we would have had a different outcome. There should have been a event timer showing when voting ended. This would have made things way more clear for people. I know I personally did not want Ellen to win and many others as well but now there is nothing we can do. Timed events need to be fixed in the future.

I am sure this may have been suggested at some point and time but since I can’t search the suggestions, I can’t tell. As much as I love the ability to dye my items, it kills me that every dye I unlock only does it for that character. While spending 13 gold on a Celestial Dye or being able to randomly find it is OK once, needing to do it 6 more times is just insane. I have purchased many Dye Kits in the Gem Store trying to get the better of the dye’s and unlocked many on my main character. I then use a newer character and have nothing unlocked so they are plain and boring. I just don’t think its a good way to implement this.

I know it follows the original Guild wars in a way, and in some ways is better because you don’t need the dye for each piece you want to dye. I just cant stand that I have to choose who I want to be able to use the dye. Especially on the very rare ones like Flame and Frost dye’s. If you can get your hands on one now, its like 68 Gold and that is just too much to spend so that one character is able to benefit from it.

I am sure that none of this will change but I had to hope that if enough people put their two cents in, maybe it can. Thanks

Well, I can see that nobody from Anet is going to take the time to comment on this. I’m sure they are working on more important things…

(On to the complaining)
I finally decided to get some gems to get some of the wintersday items like the costumes. I had a bunch left over so I also grabbed the gifts to see if I might be lucky enough to get them all or more to exchange for the special one. I got a batch of 10 for 800 gems. Sure enough the fear and complaints I had came real. The first 4 gifts, in a row(I swear) gave me the “Mini Festive Golem”….4 in a row… the same minipet. While the first few second were filled with laughter, then turned to rage, I ended at realizing that this is ok, I can keep one for the collection and the other three can be turned into “Foostivoo the Merry”. I did this so yaaa I have two of the four that can be found in the gifts.

I had enough gems left over to get one more set of 10 so I figured what the heck. Out of those I got another “Mini Festive Golem”, and 2 “Mini Snowmen” and thats it. So to keep tally, I was surprised to get any all but all together I got 5 “Mini Festive Golem’s” and 2 “Mini Snowmen”. I am now stuck with two extra minis that do me absolutely no good other then being stack-able in the Mini collection…

Now here is where the genius marketing ploy comes in. If I want to get the “Mini Infinirarium”, I would have to buy even more and hope, or dare I say pray that I get it. I have a feeling it has a more rare of a drop rate than the others so my chances of getting more doubles is high. Don’t get me wrong, I am happy to at least get the ones I have but if I want to complete the collection, I am forced to spend even more money to maybe get the last one plus the useless duplicates I’ll more than likely get. GENIUS!

On a side note, to add to the genius marketing ploy, lets give away two of the special toy minis to be nice. Oh but wait, now that I have the two, I’ll have to complete the set so I’ll spend another $20 to get the gems and buy the other three. Sure I did not have to buy the first two and I would have to get all 5 but now I feel like I need to buy the other three so I can make the collection complete. A supposed good gestured that somehow feels just as screwed up. GENIUS!

I am sorry but I see mini-pets just like trading cards. They are intended to be traded with others so they too can enjoy the ones they don’t have or the ones they really want. By forcing us to spend real money for mini-pets that are randomly rewarded and can’t be traded just defeats their entire purpose in my eyes. Thank you.

I too feel your pains and really hope they will resolve your issues. I too was a victim of being hijacked back in GW1. When I realized it happened, it took weeks for them to finally confirm I was who I said I was. By the time the account info was finally reset, everything I had worked so hard for was gone. All the special mini-pets, Ectos, and god knows what other items) Characters were deleted and new ones make to what I can only assume is run bots so the foreign pricks could sell the money right back to a new user to get their login info and start the process over.

They of course swore that the theft happened from something on my end. (Virus, giving out my info, so on) I know this is not the case because I am an IT tech and there is no way someone could have gotten my info to login to the account. The only assumption was they were using a brute force method into the account and got the password. At the time this happened, the supposed security was supposed to prevent brute force login attempts but I proved that wrong by doing brute force tests myself on my own account. Sure enough nothing stopped me from being able to do it.

Security in GW2 has been stepped up a lot since GW1 so things like this are less likely but the fact that they refused to provide any help on restoring my items and refused responsibility on how the account was hacked amazes me. Now I make sure that all of my game accounts use the largest and most random passwords I can use. Its an inconvenience to me but at least I have a better feeling about how secure it will be.

The kicker of the whole entire experience is that in order for the hackers to gain access to the account, the primary thing they need the is account/login name. In order to make sure they can never hack the account in the future, I wanted the account/login name changed. The support team refused to change it and continued to stand by their per-programmed responses that they are unable to make any changes to the login. It just fathoms me that they cant change the one thing that can allow future hacking access to the account. To this day I am still very unhappy about this and if my GW2 account ever gets hacked, I don’t expect to get much help from the support team. I do expect the same thing you are going through. A bunch of robotic responses from underpaid people in other counties who hardly speak English and have no other affiliation to Anet other than getting paychecks. Outsourcing is going to ruin the world.

The one thing I can tell people from my experience is never let anyone who you don’t trust know your login name because the moment you do, you open yourself up to being hack. Again, I wish you luck on resolution to this.

Wow, I really thought I would get a lot of opposition (even flaming) from the community. I am very happy to see that I am not the only one that thinks this was just a vile act on Anet parts to get more money out of us. I have been supporting Anet since the start of GW1. Buying all the expansions, paying for in game upgrades and costumes.

This just really chaps my hide and to see it effects others just the same and it makes me even more angry. GW2 Team, you really need to take this under advisement and revise the account bound minis. Thanks
