I find it funny that so many people are trying to find a work-around for what seems to be a DDOS attack (which generally hits many of the servers) and complaining when it still goes down or does not work. I would just give up for the time being and let ANET resolve the problem. Go outside, get some fresh air, watch some movies, go to bed…something.

Slamming the login servers constantly, watching “connection error” on the loader, or complaining “IT STILL DOES NOT WORK!” over and over, wont get them to resolve the issue any faster lol. Go enjoy life, lord knows we don’t need to be logged on every nanosecond.

You don’t see the irony in that statement? Per nearly everyone in here, its was ok to lock out people getting dailies in custom arenas. This is the exact problem.

I am disturbed by many of these comments. Everyone is basically saying:

“to $#@% with people who don’t like pvp but want the chance to get the rewards”.

I cant stand the new change because I used to be able to get the dailies done with a single match in a daily room because I don’t have a huge amount of time during the week to play but I guess its too bad for me because I don’t “have skill” or “don’t like pvp” and good riddens to me and people like me.

That is a really horrible way to treat people and this is the exact toxicity the OP is talking about. Just because I don’t like your style of game play, does not mean I should be excluded completely. I already feel excluded because there is no way for me to get any of the Mini Llamas without playing a part of the game I hate making it impossible for me to ever complete the mini collection.

I fully agree with the OP but I also think the “Daily PvP Matches Played in Unranked or Ranked Arena” should be removed because now that there is a permanent “Daily PvP Rated Game Winner”, so there is no point to having it anymore. Removing it would at least allow us to get 2 of the pvp dailies done in a custom arena (pvp kills, top stats, ect).

Sadly it looks like nothing will be done about this or at least there seems to be very little opinion on it. Sadface. I did expect as much so I guess unless hundreds of players complain about the same thing, nothing will be done about it. Guess this is just another voice in the crowd type of thing Thanks all for taking the time to read it.

Glad I am not alone in my views. Now my only hope is that a Anet Dev has seen this and something gets changed with the track because as it is, its just not worth it unless you need a blue skin.

While I mostly agree with what you say, PvP, WvW, and PvE content is not really one or the other designs. Even though some people do specifically play one game mode, many like me do a little of each. It would be nice if the time spent bringing up a reward track actually gets me rewards that match what I would get as if I did the actual event

Like dungeon tracks, those are great because you get many tokens, weapon skins, and at the end, a piece of the dungeon armor. That is a great reward for all of the work to fill the track. The SAB track just does not compare at all to that. All I ask is for a tweak a little on the rewards you get from the track to better match the general reward tracks.

I was very excited to see you were adding reward tracks for SAB this year till I finally saw what we get from the whole track. The entire thing only gives is 256 Baubles (Only enough for 1 Bauble Bubble), 9 Continue Coins, general PvE loot, and at the end, a choice of a blue skin or 32 baubles.

While the blue skin is nice, if you have all of the skins, your alternative is 32 baubles? Something I can get by spending 3 minutes in SAB? That really makes no sense. Not a single Bauble Bubble from the whole track.

That just does not seem right. Even the end chest I would think would give us 35 Bauble Bubbles if you don’t choose a skin (because that is how much they cost if I got it from Moto). Aside from the PvE loot and the Blue Skin, I can get all of this from 1 20 minute run in a SAB lvl.

I just dont understand the reasoning behind this. While I dont expect any reply from Anet, I would like to see something done about it before we get too far into the SAB event. Thanks

I find it funny how people are talking about boosters taking up so much space when as far as I can tell, you SHOULD only have 8 boosters (maybe 9 if you keep the karma ones). If you have more than that then why are you not using the boost enhancement powders to convert them to the Enchanted Combat/Reward Boosts? I mean 8 really is not much to require a special set of slots, especially with the option of shared inventory slots.

Also, many of these suggestions are just going to be ignored as Lindsay form Anet said right from the start of this post because they do not follow the heart of the matter. This is for MATERIALS and maybe trophies only. Anything you suggest that is not one of these things (like boosters) really is pointless and just clogs up the post.

I saw this error for the last couple of days too. I was worried at first but found I could still place the order without issue. At least I hope there will not be a issue later

And while this last suggestion sounds crazy and is nether a trophy or crafting mat so far, some people really (like me) would really like it.

Unlimited Slots used to store Types of Luck

Many people who have maxed their luck have probably have been saving like me in the hopes to have a use for it later (which was given to us in a limited form during Dragon Festival GH Lanterns) but I have 2 characters with inventories maxed on luck. If you can make a slot to store this that has no limit, that would really be awesome. Or if nothing else, give us some other practical use for it. We have been earning it but cant do anything with it. Even maybe make a recipie that allows us to compact 5 Exotic versions into 2 Legendary versions. That will at least ease our inventory space more. Thanks

I did forget to put in my OP that I use Dual SLI GTX 670’s. I know its not a hardware problem (in terms of a defect) because I never had this issue before HoT came out. Of the people I know that have had it happen, they also has Nvidia based cards too so that is why I am thinking its a driver problem or the game having a issue with Nvidia cards.

Bare in mind that this strictly deals with a “Black” screen of death in the game only. It does not effect the operating system at all and is completely random. It can happen at any time, while playing hard, or just idling in a city or something. There is never any error message or anything. All you can do is close the game and reload it.

I run the game in windowed mode and the window itself still appears normal, just the image (the game) goes black without warning which is what is making me think its a video card/driver specific problem.

I am bumping this topic because it has been 7 months since I posted it and the problem still occurs and it is very frustrating. I would like to see something from the Dev team telling us they are working on it or at least trying to find the problem but since Its been 7 months now, I highly doubt this is the case. I cant imagine they don’t know about the problem since it happens to many people.

Has anyone found out why this happens? I almost think its tied to people who have Nvidia Video Cards but I have no way to know for sure unless someone can speak up about that uses Radeon or (gasp) on board video. Its my only working theory right now till someone can prove otherwise. Thanks

I wanted to followup with this message and Thank Anet for doing this even though it seemed like this post fell on deaf ears with no replies. I was able to get one for each of my alt accounts. You have made me very happy. I doubt it was because of this post but wanted to make sure I thanked you.

I really hope that the candy corn gobbler will be brought back this year. I got it the first year on my main account and I use it constantly for farming mats during map comp, or gaining track progress in PvP/WvW, getting Karma in high karma events, and so on. Its a really awesome tool and worth every gem.

I was really sad to see it never returned last Halloween, nor any of the sales that have occurred since it first came out. I have alt accounts that could really use it so I really hope that it has been talked about with the Anet crew and it will be back this year. I don’t expect any official response to this, but I can at least hope it is seen by the Anet staff and considered. Thanks.

I dont see where it says that scirbing is getting refunded, only the treasury so I do not know what you are talking about.

In any case, I was livid when this happened. While I am happy they made the change, not 3 days earlier I had just scribed about 600g worth of SAB items. If they knew they were changing the scribing costs when SAB was released, why did they make the items still need the items it did? It is a real insult to release SAB items with the high cost to craft them when they knew they were going to be reducing the mats needed.

I will accept that I have to take the hit for leveling up scribing, but anything made in like the last month should really be refunded or compensated in some way. The real problem is that they knew this change would be coming, and yet the only mention of it was in some obscure reddit post a couple weeks ago (something I never saw till after the fact). A change like this need to be WAY more visible to people so they can decide if they want to scibe or not till the change is made.

I don’t know if I am the only one with this problem. If not, I can’t be the only one getting so fed up with this problem. Most of the time its inconvenient, and at rare times, it completely FUBAR.

Tonight, doing a EVOS TT wurm run, I was reflecting eggs. We de-cap all 3 wurms. Cobalt and crimson kill their wurm, just waiting on amber. at about 25%….. BLACK SCREEN! No warning, no signs of it happening, just a black screen in the game, no sound, nothing. This was the last straw, this has got to be fixed. I am so sick of loosing hard work to a completely random even i cant control.

Before anyone asks, I run in window mode and I am still able to see the window when this happens, just where the game was, is now black. I am using 64bit client, with 32mb of DDR3 memory, with a i7 Extreme edition. This is not a hardware problem. I never had this problem, till HoT came out.

I can’t do long or hard events, having to worry if its going to black screen on me and all of that work will be for nothing. PLEASE FIX THIS!

P.S. I expect a Pile of Regurgitated Armor in my mail for the troubles! Ha Ha

Yea, I’m sure I’ve done all the phases on each lane. Even before they made it easier. I am fairly sure this is a bug to my account or to specific accounts so it does not effect everyone maybe.

I have multiple achievements for tangled depths not being rewarded to me. I have attempted these several times, even at the same time others needed them and while they got them, I did not.

The attached screenshot is of my achievements (2 screenshots I pieced together). I am only missing the Kill the enraged Chak Overlord in chak stronghold for the “The Chamption Chak Hunter” achievement. If I am not mistaken, this is the chak driver which goes with the “Chak Crusher” Achievement. I have killed it twice now and still not credit.

As for the Defender achievements, I have completed these lanes many times now and still never get credit for them. I am there for all 3 phases of the fight but just never seem to get it. I was even with a party member who got theirs but I didn’t.

I have to wonder if I am the only person with this problem but as you can see, I am somewhat of an achievement w#%@e so I am kind of getting tired of doing these over and over trying to get them. Can you either fix the problem or reward me with the achievements? Thanks

I have two suggestions for this. While I love the changes to the guild boosts by allowing us to choose our boost, I feel at least these two things remain to be done.

1. (This is my biggest concern) Please allow everyone to use them, not just HoT owners. I don’t understand why you HAVE to own HoT to use these. Its a bonus that is being provided by being part of a guild, not by owning a game. I understand other things needing HoT since they would have no use without it or are exclusive to it, but these are buffs that are used everywhere. I would like my alt account to be able to befit from the buffs provided by my guild once again.

2. Allow us to have like 10 or more of each in inventory so we can swap on the go. It can be a little troublesome to have to go there every time I need to change it when I move from PvP, to gathering, gaining karma, or needing magic find.

While I am sure these suggestion will fall on deaf ears, and I expect to get flamed for “complaining”, all I can hope is something good comes out of this. Thanks.

I have been unable to complete this since shortly after HoT came out. I do not know when it really bugged out but its been a long time. Its the only thing preventing me from finishing this pre. I know there are many things in the game to be fixed so hopefully after wintersday is over, this and MANY other things will be done.

I am getting completely angry. I cant get in the thing at all so far. I have been trying for 10 minutes. I either get a full message, or i start to load in and get booted back to DR.. About to throw my mouse.

Many people I know have maxed out their luck… just because you haven’t yet does not mean nobody should be allowed to use the luck for other things. Most of my luck came from opening the over 300k ToT bags trying to get the mini ghost wolf and from Wintersday gifts. If I prefer to forge/sell/salavage my items that I get, that is my choice. It is also my choice to save them and take up the bag space in the hope for a use some day. If I could give them to a guildie to bring up their luck, I would but since I cant, it would be nice if there was some other outlet for it.

I am tired of hearing “I don’t have it so why should others” in this place. Just because someone else only opened 4k ToT bags to get their mini ghost wolf did not stop me from trying to get it. If you don’t have maxed luck yet, how about trying to get it instead of complaining about those who did.

I do know that asking for details about the expansion is taboo since you can’t release it so this is just a suggestion for something to add to HoT. Can there be new use for Luck?

Once we max out our luck, there really is no use for it. You have provided some recipes that use them, but those are really one time only things that we would never need again. As you can see from my screenshot, I have been saving for a long time since maxing out (more on another toon too) with the slim hope there would be a use later. Thanks

My sincerest and complete apologies, I now see what you are saying which is where I was confused. While it says rank points in the window, for some reason I was thinking they also used that number to add to the track points as well. I am totally wrong and again I bow down for your acceptance of my apology! I was not attempting to sound like a blank before, I honestly just was not seeing it.

While I thank you for your input, I am not sure where you heard me say rank points. No where in my posts do I mention it and the screenshots do not show any of that. (except the rank bar itself) How you misunderstood is beyond me as I thought I was very clear I was talking about track points.

I know that rank points and track points are different and that was the point of this post. The booster specifically says “10% Bonus to reward track progress” which is why I am only showing reward track points in the screenshots. You can see in the screenshots, when it rewards the “track points” it is not adding the 10% to those numbers. (5 points should have been 6 and the 535 should have said 588) I did confirm however later it was actually rewarding the points in the progression bar itself, just not reporting it in the numbers.

Well I think I answered my own question. After getting a screen grab of the bar progressing both with and without the booster, it is clear it is adding the track progression and just not reporting it. The top bar is without the booster, and bottom is with. Maybe the bug fix is just fixing the numbers it reports.

(In case you are wondering, the one with the booster was the very end of the track so the one without the booster was a brand new start of the track and not just a overlap from the next bar)

I noticed tonight that the Celebration Booster(1H) seems to be broken with rewarding PVP track progression. The Birthday Booster could be as well but I don’t want to waste one to test it.

Normally when I get my dailies done, I make sure to wait the full 7 Minutes in a around to get the max points. I also do each of the special objectives to get the max points (with the exception of team reviver since I can’t do that with just 2 people)

Now when I do this without the booster normally, the max points i get is 535. (500 for 7minute match, and 5 points x 7 objectives) With the booster at a 10% bonus, that should reward an extra 53 points for a total of 588 give or take. (With rounding not too sure the exact number) If you look at the attached screenshot you will see that the am only getting the 535 with the booster active.

I do know when ever there is a special PVP event going on and we have the buff “Call of the Mists” or “Greater Call of the Mists”, those numbers do change to match the bonus at the end of the match and it shows the totals, but as you can see from my screenshot, this is not happening with the booster. I am fairly sure it used to work because I was using boosters a few months ago a lot but I ran low on them so I stopped. During that time though, I always saw the bonus in the total. Now I am not.

Is it actually giving the bonus and just not reporting it, or is it bugged? I tried to see if the track bar has any difference with or without, but its kind of hard to tell. I am going to try and capture the change as it happens to see if there is a difference and then post what I find. Thanks

While I agree with everything, this part is sort of flawed. If you do this, you loose everything you worked for on the main account. (Achievement points, legendaries, skins, so on.)

I do agree this is a big middle finger to existing players. I expect to pay for the expansions, but not at the same cost as a new player since I already purchased the game. ($150 for the CE when it came out). The ultimate version is kind of a joke too. Basically a $25 increase for just gems and the ability to say you have the ultimate edition. Really? At least with the CE, I have special (and awesome) real world items that nobody else can have unless you got the CE. I am basically just giving you another $25 for an extra that you did not have to put any effort into. Its like saying, here buy this game and we will include this paper with the game code. It just makes no sense to get the ultimate version except to give you more money.

This explains why I got 2. I got 2 Heroic Chests and a Letter of Influence(4,000) because I originally owned the Collectors edition, then when the Heroic edition was on sale in the gem store, I got that as well just to get it out of there. I was tired of seeing it all the time as an upgrade when I owned the CE. I really hope this “bug” does not mess with the fact that I owned the CE just in case some day they make some special thing for it. It is a nice bug I guess, too bad I already have all of the armors unlocked.

I was wondering why I just randomly received a golem banker from Anet today lol. I created a new toon the other day and was having issues with the golem banker but I just ignored it and kept going. Logged in today and received it and was like “WTH is this and why did I get it?” Then began the great Google search to see if I was alone. Thanks for this, had no clue there was even a problem.

Well, sort of….you need to also account for everything I get out of the bags and then sell to the merchant or the TP so I would say cut that total in half to about 8k but yea, this is why I am very unhappy. With that money I could have purchased Eternity and another legendary….so…..yea…..

Yup, opened 280,000 ToT bags in a hope I could get the Mini Ghost Wolf. That was a impossible dream but with at least the 4k wrappers I put in was my last hope to get the Greatsaw Skin (or any skin for that matter) at least… Guess that was another failed dream.. GREAT HALLOWEEN!

So I have been still opening some ToT bags in the slim infinitesimal chance I’ll get the mini wolf (having opened 280k during Halloween and getting nothing tells me i still wont) How ever after the most recent patch for the new LS, I am getting worried that Anet has ninja patched the mini’s out of the ToT bags.

After Halloween ended I opened some bags and did get the Mini Zuzu, but ever since the last small bug-fix patch, I have not gotten a single one. I figured it was just poor luck but i have opened many many bags (like 10k+) and have not got one. I want to know if anyone can confirm they are still getting the Mini Zuzu from ToT bags since the last bug-fix patch or maybe someone from Anet confirm that they have not removed any mini’s from the ToT bags. Thanks!

I really like this idea. Since I have every mini (except the mystical dragon which STILL seems to be a mystery mini since being added months ago, and the Mini Llama which requires me to watch events I don’t like and pray I get it. Oh and I wont bother mentioning the most recent impossible mini to get…) my home instance would be a zoo. It would be AWESOME!

This is as good as my idea for a Anniversary mini. (or something) My hope is they make a Mini Doppelganger as a call back to GW1. When the mini is taken out, it would take on the look of the person who summoned it (Armor and all). We could all have a mini-me running around with us. WOULD BE AWESOME!. Got some good feedback a long time ago when I posted that idea but that is as far as it went.

Well, with the event coming to an end, and me having no more money, I am left with having opened 280,000+ ToT bags. These last two weeks have made me feel sick to my stomach.

Whelp thanks Anet, you have officially broken me. I give up on getting the mini. I have lost count but I think I have opened 150k ToT Bags and got no mini. I was lucky to get the Black and Orange ammy’s but id gladly trade them for the mini. Guess I wont bother collecting minis anymore. Too bad I bound all of my minis to my account so I can’t sell them. Thanks for taking the one thing I enjoyed in the game and turning it into a joke.

I am over 50k bags and still nothing. Its REALLY making me mad. I am a mini collector and I have every single mini (except the Mystical Dragon of course and the Llama since its impossible to get unless I watch the twitch special events and so on which I can’t because I am at work.) and it bothers me that a mini that has such a low drop rate is account bound. It makes the collectors like me solely rely on pure luck and having lots of gold. At least make it something that can be sold in the TP! I have used over 1k gold trying to get it and I could have purchased a precursor at this point.

The problem just started….geez, at least give them time to look into it.

I need to bump this because I posted it right as the patch came out and FLOOD of patch complaints/comments pushed it by 8 pages instantly.

I have had this idea rolling around my head for a long time now and I think it would be a great idea for when GW2 turns 2. Since the first birthday gave us a “Mini Queen Jennah”, the second birthday should do the same by giving a mini but with a little twist.

I would like a new Mini Doppelganger. Basically it would be a call back to GW1. It matched the person who was fighting it. In this case though it would be so awesome if when it was summoned/taken out, it takes the appearance of the person who summoned it. Think of it like a Mini of yourself that can change based on who summons it and what they are wearing/wielding at the time it was summoned. A mini of myself with a mini Bifrost running around with little rainbow footfalls…OMG!

I think this is a great idea and I doubt I am the only person who would love a Mini Clone of themselves running around with them. Anyone else think this would be great! I am sure I will never get a reply from a dev about this idea but I really hope it gets up the ladder somehow. Thanks!!!

I have been in my home instance so many times using gathering boosters. I have 6 nodes to work with every time and I have never gotten a extra strike off them.

I have noticed that the gathering boosters, gathering banners, and wvw gathering bonus’s don’t seem to work in the home instance. Is this done on purpose or just something not setup to work there yet? It would be nice to hit all the home instance nodes I worked for and maybe get a few extra hits here and there every day.

I also noticed they don’t work on Rich Gathering Nodes in terms of giving extra hits on them. Its always just 10. Is that a bug as well or also intentional? Does it effect the Rich nodes in any way? Thanks

I have been playing since Beta. I really, Really, REALLY hate PvP. Clearly you can see that. I have never liked PvP in any game so its not specific to GW2.
