Generally new chapters are added at 12pm PST. That is IF the chapter is ready. If there is an issue the chapter will be later. So it’s just a play the game and hold your horses until it is ready.

Top 5 tips for players first starting GW2:

What class should I pick? What race do I start with? Any! GW2 classes are player friendly and easy to learn. The different races have their own starting story, but end up doing the same thing all the other’s do.

Do I need to join a guild? No. Guilds are optional. Some want players to add to their numbers. Some are huge and can be overwhelming. Best thing to do if you want to join a guild, know what you want in a guild. PVP, WVW, PVE, or a mix. Some are small guilds and very social. Some are Role Play. Just decide what you want then ask around.

What armor and weapons do I need for my class? Experiment. There are allot of armor types. Players will tell you to go berserker, but that has become a generic armor. Experimenting with different armor and weapon types. When most reach lvl 80, they have a pretty good idea on what armor and weapons works best for them. Some players will have more then one set of armor and weapons as well.

Always ask questions. GW2 has a friendly, helpful community and will gladly answer questions. Do not feel as if you are asking too many or taking someone’s time up. Players are here to help. The best way to learn is ask.

Last, but not least, have fun playing the game! Explore, whack away and always give yourself a challenge.

Don’t forget the Mini Festive Aurene is coming soon. She will make up for that awful outfit they added. The crown they are adding is very nice too.

The Final story event was fine before all the changes were added. They should have never added everything they did. Since the change, the soloing became impossible, never mind trying to do it with a party. Most players do it once and never again.

The location indicator for the jump puzzle needs to be moved south more. It shows the Buried Archives JP at the Caer Shadowfain area.

They are working on the billing maintenance. More than likely they turned the servers off to do it easier. 7am-2pm PST is the time frame.

I have one question, how many dcing are in the western US? That seems to be the general area.

All 30 of my characters are female, and I am female. I grew up with games and the main character 99.99% of the time was male. It was not until the early 90’s that female leads in games started showing up. Back then females in games were almost unheard of. Even in voice chat, guys thought the woman talking was the player’s girlfriend.

Now, as the gaming community has grown leaps and bounds, and mmo’s are catering to many playing styles, Gw/Gw2 would be a 50/50 split, WOW probably 60/40, and many others. Some games there is even a 60/40 split in the female players being the higher percent. That, “oh girls don’t play”, cliche has gone the way of the dodo.

-Learn the past storyline
-Do not have to rely on others to play
-Limited armor choices, but do not have to change armor every few levels
-If you know players who still play and can help you, bonus
-Do not have to buy weapons every other level. Weapons drop all over the place.
-Cheap to buy the entire set
-Can switch secondary class at any time. Tonnes of build choices.

Cons
-Few play anymore
-If you are not use to playing Strategy Based games, it is confusing at first.
-No jump puzzles.
-Closed maps. Just you and the party. (Pro too)
-Dated graphics, who cares. graphics don’t mean a thing. It’s the play value that counts.

There is a small yay and ney lineup for you. Now it is up to you to decide if you want it or not. We all can offer our points of view. But I think the simple pros and cons comparison is better.

Ya ya All the latest changes for Gears of Battlefield Grand Theft Auto Forza 44 that came out yesterday, yada yada yada. You know I am really sick of downloading like 20GB of new video drivers every week just because every new game needs a tweak or two. Sigh. Now I have to log in to use the Nvidia Experience? I said frame rate 60 because their’s is a low end card.
I use an Nvidia Titan and all the years of using Nvidia cards the only recent problem with GeForce Experience is the replacement of Shadowplay with a stupid recording program.

First off, most guilds have the same problems with keeping semi-active to active players.
Allot of mine are at school and rarely have time to play. But for those who will not answer you at all, keep watching if they are changing maps and what not, then try again. You know they are not afk when they are switching maps. If they still do not answer, boot them.
Unfortunately in any mmorpg, guilds are hard to maintain. Small guilds usually have a small few that do things together. For those ginormous guilds not everyone knows everyone and small groups hang out. Very few players are loyal to guilds, so just worry about the core group you have and not the wishy-washies.

Make sure your driver is up to date. Also make sure your frame rate in settings is 60.

When I saw the date and time, I had to check the calendar. So many appointments that week. The 18th is the only day free! I will be there!

I have also noticed with gliders that they also fully disappear, but you are still gliding.

Also, speaking of tiny linguistic mistakes, in Mightier than the Sword it should be “et cetera”, not “etcetera” (two words, et meaning “and”, cetera meaning “so on”).

It is used both ways plus 2 more, et caetera and et coetera.

I agree the execution of the JP is an over burden, even though it supposedly can be done in about 15 min. The fact of loosing the JP progress is a pain in the behind. Every single time I have tried to do that JP I always loose progress because of the map closing. Therefore, I am still trying to get the achievement. Players in the game chat are frustrated with the JP progress every day also.

Yesterday I was running around Ember Bay and received the map closure. After a while the choice to switch maps disappeared; normally does this on other maps. So I continued doing my events and what not, and the map decided to close a short while later.

Dido here. I tried mining and logging to see if it was one of them instead. Definitely broken.

The random screaming has been going on for a long time, even before they added HoT. No clue why it has never been fixed.

Pretty much everyone knows the story of Ventari, his tablet and the Mother Tree. But how many have seen Ventari with the Mother Tree together? I can guarantee not many. I managed to get over to Arbor Bay in GW and get a screen of them and where they are.

The orange dot on Arbor Bay is where the Mother Tree is a seedling.

This happened to us an hour ago. The map closure kicked us before we made it to the top of the JP. Needless to say the 4 of us were cussing a storm after 3 hours of hard work getting up there in the first place. They really need to do something about this. Perhaps disable map closure on the map would be a start.

I am not sure, I still have to scrounge up all the gifts to make mine. Seeing as I got The Bard before they changed the legendary system. I do not see others with it either.

The game play and challenges are over all good. The area provides a good challenge. The one issue I have is, I returned today to do the rest of the map and all my hearts I did yesterday have rest. Is this suppose to happen? Needless to say I now have to redo the hearts again. Great job keeping the over all theme that is in Guild Wars Ring of Fire.

If the new map is in the ring of fire, the area in GW1 is Ember Light Camp. In GW2 it is probably the same area and now Ember Bay.

Hydra will more than likely be on the map, unless they were wiped out from the area between the end of GW Prophecies and now.

You an also look at the screen shots of Ember Light Camp in GW1. The skulls look familiar don’t they.

So now that the title caught your attention. I went into Guild Wars, Ember Light Camp in the Ring of Fire and took a few pictures and a video snippet of the area. More than likely the camp and the area beyond will become Ember Bay.

If you want it on the other monitor, go to your video settings and chose which one you want main. Then the game will be on the monitor you want. Then you can always switch it back later.

That message was added because someone died in Korea playing a video game for like 3 days straight (I do not know what game they were actually playing) If I remember correctly, they didn’t really stop to eat, drink or even go to the bathroom and collapsed and died later.

You are right about the reason they added the reminder, It still got to the point that the reminder was just a notice in the bar and meant nothing. Every hour the reminder is set to run. It may or may not have been a liability, but technology now is at where you can set every phone, tablet, even on your computer, a timer that will go off.

Guild Wars is also a closed map system one normally did not go around with a load of other players on maps. GW2, many take breaks, many go AFK and leach off the work of everyone else in the area. With the number of players saying the time or gotta go, ect, those are reminders right there to look at your clock.

When I was new, I immediately went to the eye of the north to get my Guild Wars earned items. From playing GW since the first month it started, it was a pretty simple transfer to learning. When I discovered there were jumping puzzles in the game I was ecstatic! I had not seen a JP for years until GW2. I remade my beta characters, and now have 27 characters. I guess I really like GW2

I support a colour blind option also. I have a friend who playes and the only way he knows what the dye colours are is by name. He is also not a red/green colour blind. There are about 4 different colour blindnesses and one is even monotone. Some games do have a colour blindness setting, but I am not sure if it is for one type or others too. It is something to look into.

I have all the dyes given in the 4th year birthday pack. I am happy that they were given, but the dyes are useless to me. So I will have 5 of the dye pack taking up space. What can be done?

I think I am going to go and play GW. Run through the missions for old time’s sake. Anyone want to come?

oh hey… seriously while you’re at it, since the wvw goodies are account wide now you should also make the gear that we buy from the wvw vendors account bound instead of soulbound. Matter of fact all gear should be account bound. I really don’t understand the purpose of making armor and weapons soulbound.

Well, while you are at it, might as well get rid of the trading post as well, considering it will be rendered mostly useless since you cant sell your account bound goodies on there anymore.

You never could sell account bound stuff on the TP.

You can, don’t forget there is soulbound after you put it on your character.

There are allot of people that ‘spirit’ could be. Be Ironic if it’s one of our gw1 characters. But yeah I am still trying to think who it could be from the particular blood stone that blew up.

I have 2 other online games I play, and some offline games too. I just take a break, and play one of those. Or take a break from the computer completely. (Ha ha better said than done.) Always have another option. Don’t limit yourself to one game or thing, then yes it can get dull.

A lot of players use crafting to level our characters So some of the characters will learn some that you will never max out. I, myself, have several that know the same profession, but only one has it maxed out. You do not have to learn crafting on a character either. So really you do not need to unlearn anything. One character can learn all the crafting disciplines, and have 2 active. Other than that, it does not affect game play.
If there was an unlearn crafting, you would not get all that money time and experience back.

By top tier means Everything level 80. Ever since they added the patches, not only is the oiled armor sets expensive, but the exotic standard sets have become ridiculous as well. Those who can afford to buy their go;d may not think anything of it, but there are players who cannot. Ascended has even doubled in price since I made my sets, all because of the new mats Anet added. Of course player gouging also in the market.

Yeah I had made a post about this very thing and about the 4 years of GW2 and still no addition to accessory colours.

This message suppression is getting out of hand. even waiting a few minutes after saying things it suppresses you. All the chat spammers and emote spammers go on and on in the chat and never get suppressed.
Especially us Mesmers helping and porting players and what not, we get suppressed a lot. As for others trying to help I do not know if they are getting suppressed or not as much as we are. There has to be a fix for this other than logging out and back in.

Shadow Play works in full screen and you should have it set to manual. Make sure you set where you want the recording indicator in a corner so you can see that it is recording (green dot). I have mine in the top right corner. edit You can try adjusting the settings and see if that helps. Other than that, make sure GeForce is updated regularaly and it is compatable with win10.

I personally use my mesmer/chronomancer as a tank, but even without changing a build you can easily swap a weapon and jump to the back out of trouble and spam clones to sometimes distract the opponent. Then get back in to keep the opponent off while helping the player that got downed.
But for full support, Guardian is usually the best to go with. Not too sure about a ranger/druid haven’t tried it out as a support.
Elementalist can be great for full support, just need to be sure the opponent stays away from you.

I have been having constant disconnecting issues as well. GW2 does it, no other major online game I play does. I have tried different ports. Just a moment ago I logged in and 20 seconds later, disconnected, got back on, immediately disconnected. I am using the 64bit version, but until recently I have had no problems.

I ran a repair just now and will try again.
