When the other post gets shot down, don’t make a new one about the same thing. First world problem, You can handle not getting any loot yourself. Everyone else on the other hand has crafting to do or materials to sell.
There’s nothing left to be said if you just ignore the answer everyone’s been giving you. Having the option to support the game and get geared out is just baffling everyone on how that’s a bad thing in the first place. It really is the previous analogy of standing between two different heights of bushes and starving.
If it’s only for living world then it’s even more baffling. You either want the content or you don’t, which is why someone answered you can watch it on youtube as an alternative option.
Finally it’s just extremely baffling if we’re going into this much detail about open world pve. You don’t even need full ascended for raids.
This is the one of the weirdest stances I’ve seen in a bit.
“Any cool idea’s of a different way of looking at it? which could change my mind and make me not feel so “depressed” over spending time actually playing the game to progress, instead of simply taking some overtime at work (and cutting months of grinding off for every day i just do RL work) ?” -Nyr
First off it sounds like your current goals are to be fully ascended and maybe a legendary. It’s very unclear, but I think that’s what you mean. If you could state it that would be nice, otherwise, people just have to keep guessing.
So back to the question. It’s a moral question, and it truly can’t be answered without answering “Why play video games at all?”. It’s a complete waste of time to play any if we go into statistics. If you’re not making money from it then the numbers will never show it has a use. But if you go from a psychology of play viewpoint it’s extremely important.
To boil that down it basically means, without some form of play in our adult lives it becomes extremely hard to continue doing a task. Psychology of play also has a lot to do with learning, but that’s a fun thing that can be checked out on the web. My point is that the numbers shouldn’t matter, because of the reasons you play video games in the first place.
tap tap Next up is going back to the guild wars mechanics everyone was touching on.
Spending money on the game is supporting the game! How could you ever feel bad or feel like you’re cheating? The coolest thing about it is that everyone can’t do it! What I mean by that is the conversion for gems to gold is completely determined by the players. The price fluctuates every time a new skin that everyone wants comes to the gemstore, it’s the honestly one of the coolest things about the game.
It also means that if every single player in the entire gw2 community decided tomorrow they wanted to buy gold with gems to get as much as they could. Then the gold stash would run out, and it would become incredibly cheap for players who want gems to buy them with gold. But as soon as the first person in this scenario starts buying gold with their gems/real money the price for the next person is going to go up. Which makes this particular scenario basically a non-existent outcome since no one would ever want to pay $1 for 1 gold if it ever got that crazy.
Lastly having a min/maxed character won’t change your environment or standing in the game. If you feel that’s what you want to better your experience then that’s your reason to do it. And again it’s supporting the game you put hours into.
Collect at least 100 Dragon Chests and open them all in a row, you are almost guaranteed to get Tequatl’s Hoard.
Is the random generator working differently if you open 100 chests in a row compared to opening one each day for 100 days?
Even then, it’s possible that the hoard is already in the first chest and you slay Tequatl another 99 times on 99 days to open it.
No it doesn’t, it’s just a ritual that people who don’t understand the whims of RNG perform.
On the contrary, opening 100 at a time is more than a ritual. If you open a chest every day and you get nothing, you might experience frustration 100 days in a row. If you open all 100 together, then at worst, you’d experience that frustration once.
I save up my chests (of all sorts) because (a) it’s more efficient in managing inventory and (b) I almost always get something fun. The odds might be the same, but my enjoyment of the experience is vastly different.
Sounds like a ritual to me!
By your definition, opening containers instantly is also a “ritual”, since it also makes no mathematical difference. Why is it so important to you to label what other people do instead of simply evaluating on the merits?
I don’t expect different drops from saving containers to open them all at once. I expect better time management & a better ratio of excitement to disappointment. Does your way work better for your enjoyment of the game? Then great, stick with it.
There’s no point in becoming hung up on them calling it a ritual. The point they were making is that saving chests doesn’t change the chance of getting it, which is true. I bring it up, because demitel’s original comment made it seem like saving chests is the surefire way to get one, which isn’t true.

The sunless weapons are RNG and boring. Only use they have is to get the specific ascended stat. IMO, not worth the effort, at all.
There isn’t a single ascended drop for armor or weapons that people are aiming for a particular stat due to the nature of ascended. You can just use a mystic forge recipe to get the exact stats you need, and you can keep changing it if you have the resources and desire to do so.
You might have already known, but I just want to make sure for everyone’s good
Amulets, rings, and accessories on the other hand cannot be stat changed with the mystic forge recipe, unless they are from Bloodstone Fen. However, the stat change is through a different mechanic. Backpacks have a weird one time stat change, but it costs a ton and if it’s an older backpack I think it still doesn’t have the option to pick the HoT stats. Luckily, Bloodstone Fen has a backpack.
Absolutely not
I usually ask my friend for what could be causing the issue for exact information, but to me it sounds like the processor. Gw2 is very gpu and cpu intensive.
It’s like being angry there’s a new flavor of donut/ice cream that you don’t like.
Again they aren’t allowed to have silly hats because of that? Being constructive with what you want and what you aren’t happy with is one thing. You don’t need to bash on the newest skin to go reach that debate though. I don’t think they’re looking for inspiration for something entirely different on the negative feedback for an optional hat.
I’m all for the option. Seems like it would help people see what they want to see even if they aren’t using it for the same reasons. Your issue is entirely a computer issue though. A notification wouldn’t cause that.
That is the system I would be fine with seeing. I just don’t think it would be well received for an old map getting tokens is my issue with it.
If you don’t want materials that’s up to you. Don’t push your first world problems onto me.
Why do you guys keep making posts like this everytime a new gem store skin comes out? Why do you think being that negative is ok? If you don’t like the skin they shouldn’t be allowed to make it?
The new hat matches the other hats. Breaking news you aren’t going to like every piece of clothing in a store.
The spoons have a use, they’re apart of the Koutalophile collection.
As for making a merchant to obtain it that would involve making a currency only obtainable from Tequatl, or saying ok everyone can have it if it’s karma or gold. I think either option is poor. Thus it should remain the way it is to not burn the people who already have it.
The fractal skins are in a different boat because they have always been exotics while the blue one’s are only skin tickets. Then the change made a reason to collect the full golden fractal set in a growing game mode. While Tequatl is just an easy event for most people. To me it just opens a bad door of make this skin easier and this one and this one.
Ignoring the environment is a player decision. Shouldn’t be rewarded as a feature.
That would be rather unique to have an outfit with a land dress version, and an underwater tail version. I think the dress version wouldn’t be a fluffy dress, but just a tail along one of the legs.
And I’m not even talking about the casual players. The die hards who play everyday stick with the game because they know they can update their ascended with the mystic forge, if they feel inclined to try out the new meta people are being ridiculous about.
Changing to a gear treadmill is a slap in the face to the current player base, and trying to replace them with a different player base. There’s no way around that.
Not to mention what you’re saying is flat our ridiculous. “Me and my friends were loving the game, but then the new outfit jumped out and ruined the entire game. You supposedly listen to us, but where’s my drink!! I’m supposed to eat this pizza without a drink??”
Have you even read beyond the OP’s initial typo?
It’s like you were talking about someone else’s thread. Seriously, makes me sad to see raging kids lash out at people who give friendly feedback. None of what you wrote was voiced by the OP.
You can pretend whatever you want Ashantara, but I’m referencing things throughout his post. Those are in no way direct quotes from him, and no one would argue that they are. So again I restate my final point. Arena-net isn’t allowed to make new skins if you don’t like them?
People were complaining when there were tons of people doing it. The event would scale, but lots of people didn’t know what their CCs were.
Anet*. Also it’s impossible to please everyone with any vanity item, ever.

I really don’t know what you’re advocating for. They’re not allowed to come out with a new outfit if you don’t like it?
Only one of the dye channels on the armor glows. Depending on the dye you choose it can be hard to see.
I completed all the jumping puzzles, thus I am not sated. I need one that will ruin my life. Until then I shall torture my guild mates with my guild hall jumping puzzles. No arbitrary touching of my content.
Everytime xD
They. Handle. Gemstore. Skins.
Nothing is being delayed by gemstore skins. It’s like a child blaming the ice cream shop for having a new flavor they don’t like.
I think it’s just a lack of basic understanding. Meta builds are a constant determined by the player base. So it’s impossible to make a game that has none.
As soon as a change happens people look through all the builds until they find the one that produces the highest number, and they share. All the time I hear people blame the video company for the things they’re doing to themselves. Build diversity is there, you just don’t want to deal with people telling you you’re non meta.
Why are people always nagging about what really constitutes an achievement. Whether you feel on an emotional level it was really rewarding doesn’t matter. Achievements in any game have always been, “Did you do the thing? Here are some achievement points”. There’s not that many achievements in this game that give you an item afterwards anyway.
Also people don’t know you’re wearing fancy metallic dyes, unless their shaders are at least on medium.
I agree. If there’s an option for people to turn glows off that would be great for both sides. They could introduce more skins for the people that enjoy them, without any of the backlash from the people with eye trouble.
However me saying this will immediately summon the people vehemently against allowing people to hide something they are wearing. Even if their argument holds 0 merit since we already have an option to make them wear pink default armor.
I hope not for the sake of my eyes.
“That is NOT what the OP said.” proceeds to state something that the OP also didn’t say.
Make a rational argument for your side of the debate that will make Anet money, and gives players a better experience then what we currently have and no one will be against you. If you can’t find a way to do that, others also can’t do it.
You can tell how unhappy the player base is with the current game state, with the overwhelming number of players playing gw1 instead of 2.
Oh wait there is tab targeting? Hmm. But dodges though! Oh if I don’t use dodges it’s the same thing as it not being there? But that would mean gw2 already has the options I desire.
I may be forgetting the large amount of untapped players waiting to here that no new content is planned. It would be a roaring success! Let’s remove this jumping nonsense as well.
It seems I was a bit unclear, so I’ll clarify. You’re delusional for asking for asking for them to magically make the game have gw1 style combat. Which one you prefer is preference, but it’s a fact that the one that takes more skill to play is gw2.
I’m the largest fan of adding more options to games so that players are able to do new things that sometimes the creators don’t think of right away, but this isn’t an option. You’re asking for regression of mechanics and story telling. Nostalgia is great, but not including new mechanics because that’s not how it used to be is not.

I disagree with going from level 1. Usually offers zero information of what your final HoT build is going to be like. I would go with condi necro. It’s a really easy rotation, with great damage, and survivability. Light armor will be a lot easier to get then medium as well.
No need to be rude or unrealistic. Flat out halving the cost of recipes isn’t even remotely a good idea, and what people decide to do with their time doesn’t need to be policed.
However, there is one problem I see with that area of the map, and that is it’s just too nice of a spot for engineers to fall asleep at. I’m not saying nerf rewards, or a class, or anything like that. But it would be cool if a boss spawned there right in the middle of the area. It would probably give them slightly more rewards, and just kill the naughty asleep people.
This makes perfect sense with the toggle in the settings.
You shouldn’t encourage people not to speak, just because you don’t like the balance they decide to do. All the balance they try and do makes sense. The problem is a lot of the forums are never asking for balance, they just like to use that word to push the changes that benefit them.
It’s immensely annoying for players who desperately want the new exclusive, but I think the target market is being catered to perfectly, and that’s people who actually buy keys. You have a chance to get these from the few keys you can get from key farming, but really it’s the people who will keep going until they get it that will. So I don’t think anything is owed to anyone or anyone is being mistreated. It stings horribly when I desperately want one of the new BL chest gliders, but I’m glad these stand alone skins are generating revenue for the game.
please don’t bring up these topics, it’s bad enough one dev has to waste their time to turn it on. I just kinda hope it has some terrible bug so they decide to just stop with this SAB travesty
Do you have to? A bug that stomps on what others like would make you happy?
Yes please. You also need to post this in the quality of life changes thread if you haven’t already.
It’s a Miniature Pet for a game. It’s not even a real fish. Why be upset for it? Also to all of you going to assume I’m heartless or something. Maybe go help a stray or suffering animal in real life? The time you are wasting caring about a pet that doesn’t exist could be used to help a real one. You are welcome for being brought back to reality.
Please help out a real animal and stop pretending this fish is dying.
That’s what I said please read again…..
Oh sorry. I was agreeing with you >_< I should of mentioned that.

No. It’s a freakin’ joke in a video game, for crying out loud. Grow a sense of humour.
If you think showing an animal being tortured is a joke, I hope you are never allowed to own a real pet. :-\
You’re playing a video game in which you eviscerate, incinerate, liquify, and otherwise murder countless people. Should you not be allowed around real people?
If you really can’t tell the difference, then I truly pity you.
You just countered your own argument…
Also you’re very rude comparing people to animal abusers, and telling them they aren’t allowed to laugh at something created to be a joke.
I’m with Flesh Wound. It’s pretty disgusting as it is. Very uncool joke.
Telling the devs they aren’t allowed to joke is far more disgusting to me.
You’re ruining a gag mini people are looking forward to for no reason other then your personal preferences. I want unique minis. I don’t desire a fish swimming though the air, but that’s my personal preference. However, I’m not demanding any changes when I see new minis, because that’s childish. You’re pushing the game in a very bad direction by saying you can’t joke about something like a flopping fish. It just opens all bad doors, such as throwing dementia into the joke at Lake Doric between the father and daughter near the dam. If it’s not there don’t pretend it’s there.
The fish isn’t dying. It’s not real, and it’s animation will always show it being alive. It would be like calling anyone who’s ever fished a monster, because every single fish ever caught throughout history is without air for awhile.
Also what about a robotic fish with the same animations in real life?
All the hate towards people who use dps meters is ridiculous speculation. You haven’t experienced it personally, but all raiders are these awful salty people? Throw calculator into everything you’ve said instead of dps meter. A calculator can’t surveil upon you like a dps meter can, but both are still tools.
I don’t approve of anyone insulting anyone over lack of dps, and that’s also ridiculous. However, that doesn’t give you any rights in a group you didn’t make yourself. It’s a kitten move to kick someone over one bad run, but it’s the group they put together.
People are often waiting for someone to open a training run in raids.
How would I convince someone to play gw2 coming from WoW.
To start off with, Guild Wars 2 has an amazing system where you buy the game once, and you forever have the game and unlock the next living world chapter if you log in. You can also unlock it for your account on a free account, but you can’t play it until you buy the game, which makes sense. It’s kind of dangerous since a large amount of people aren’t paying for content, but it is amazing for the players. Also when the next expansion comes out the current one will be free if you buy the new one. Which is also amazing for new players.
However, since there are expansions now so that means you will have to buy the new current game eventually if you want to play the new stuff. Whatever you choose you’ll still get daily rewards for buying the game in the past.
Second point is the art style. The world just feels right to be in. I love how well the maps are laid out. I will say I hate Ascalon, and I think that that’s a good feeling for how horrible a place it’s supposed to be, with so much awful history coupled with the remaining Charr fanatics. So both games are stylized, it’s preference for which one is more appealing.
And on to style! I love the way this game does stylizing your character! Transmutation charges and account wide skins have spoiled me to the core, when I go play anything else. Not to mention the dyes. You get an item and then you decide whether you should use it or account bind it, which means you can’t sell it and you get the skin. Easie peasie lemon squeezie.
Next the gameplay. Oooo how I love limited dodges. There are quite a few games where you can dodge endlessly, but you get punished since they are usually ill timed, but those games end up being rollie pollie away from the enemy until you have an opening. So very minor thing, but dodging in this game is the kitten for me anyway.
Now a short side track over to raids. Dungeons were pretty much supposed to be raids, but they weren’t called raids. They failed because having multiple maps in the same dungeon was hard to do, and quickly gave the player base a feeling of staleness. Also an odd variety of salty sailor was born there. The salty sailor is presumed to live in the current raids now, but the salty sailor don’t effect anyone in any game.
What I mean by that is, if they are being unsportsmanlike or insulting anyone. Immediately block and report in any game you are playing ever. Then you no longer have to hear them and there is the start of a record of their naughtiness or an addition to one. No game can see them. They have to be shown so that their hands can be smacked, and every game will have some.
Also on this note. You can’t expect the world when joining someone else’s group in lfg. Whether it’s running a map, fractals, or any other content. It’s the group they made and have to run. Anyone in the game has the ability to make their own group and run something their own way. That way everyone is getting like minded individuals instead of everyone blaming raiders that just want a quick run before they have to get off. Some of both sides are just not being nice.
Anyway I have to end because I’m going to run out of room and I’m not a two post person. Holy trinity is not mandatory, but everything is what someone else says if you never make your own lfgs. Also I’m not a huge fan of the masteries, but it’s hardly a treadmill. You can get them all done by eventually by doing nothing, excluding the raid masteries which require you to beat one raid boss once. Which won’t get you anything but raid masteries, that help with raids.
I own Nevermore, and I completely disagree with you.
Nevermore is one of the most pleasant and natural looking weapons in the game. A year ago, I so helplessly tried to convince myself that it’s just an expensive skin that everyone is going to have due to the limited pool of gen 2s to pick from. But it’s everything I ever wanted out of a Legendary, and I couldn’t be happier. I have a metric crap ton of expensive skins, and expensive dyes as a person that will grind for fashion, but I’ll only use what looks right to me.
In fact I have plans to make all the gen 1 legendaries slowly and skin my regular things over them, because I just want to switch stats. All of that’s just preference though.
What’s not preference is that this skin is already made. People made it for various reasons, but I made it because it’s something I love seeing, and I watched countless videos and stalked various people before I started making it. Not looking at the most expensive skin in the game before you make it is not a reason to arbitrarily change it on me and anyone else who likes the way it was originally made, forever.
HOWEVER! If they make a toggle for footfalls, then all is well in the land and we can both have the looks that we desire.
I only started the game a year ago, so I don’t know if it was ever played in game, but it’s such a shame I’ve never hear it there! It’s an amazing song so I’ve decided to dance to it
I did the meta yesterday around 9 hours before reset during the very non-peak time slots where everyone in America is at school or work. I was the commander of the first map as I got there early, and it went normal as always. I was at south and it was a tiny bit scary just for me as a commander with how much the bomb got trapped, but it went fine.
So my thoughts are announce that the majority of the map is going for the meta, and ask that anyone else please guild hall or go to pvp lobby for a moment and come back so we can get more people on the wait list in. Then when it seems no one can get in anymore, kick everyone who can’t get in so that the other maps have a chance of forming. Then people in your map who worked toward the meta have a marginal chance to get back in.
But that’s just basic stuff that should be done for any map meta.
My thoughts have remained the same since the first MM was ever done, and that is:
This needs to be fixed immediately because Tarir is already the most popular map due to easy waypoint distance, best laid out HoT chests, the achievement, and needing to wait to go back in the city. Just a ton of factors that push the player base to Tarir instead of the other HoT metas.
So I’m just glad that the map is back to normal. I don’t understand any complaints that Tarir is somehow worthless now.
