You don’t “need” to do any of that. You choose to aim for something set up to take a really long to make in a shorter time. Play what you enjoy and you surprise yourself with how much you can afford eventually.

I have all the current masteries, and I agree that the raid masteries shouldn’t count as they aren’t content everyone can do. I have no suggestions on how to change that though since I imagine it’ll be hard for them to change it so that they can exclude the raid masteries and not anything else. So don’t get me wrong I still want you to waste XP if you aren’t getting the normal materies done. There’s no excuse to me for not getting those. Spirit shards can be gained from tomes same as always. Plus you’ll have plenty in soon enough. Not everything needs instant gratification.

Black wings by far. Black goes with everything.

White wings maybe, but kindness kind goes subliminally with them which may not match all your characters. Then again the same might be said about the black wings with dark words. Either way neutral colors usually match everything, I like the black wings, and I want soul river glider to come back for my main character.

This inconveniences them if it messes thing up when they add more masteries.

We finally got spririt shards back! So you don’t see huge amount of XP do absolutely nothing. Why would you want this in a game that’s not about this kind of thing?

I’d love to have something to jump around since I’ll be jumping around Lion’s Arch anyway. My only addition is to have a toggle setting, so that people who don’t want to accidentally press it during a world boss will have the option to turn it off. Also if the option to “Inspect player” is to see rarity of gear and stats it won’t be happening. That isn’t what this game wants and it isn’t what I want as a person who came to this game for that reason.

If all an “Inspect player” option does is show what skins someone is using, then I’m 100% for it. With maybe their build configuration on the grounds that you can know that just by knowing their class options and what’s happening with them from a fight. So I think it would just be an amazing quality of life change, since you could help guildies and new players out with their builds easily if they ask without having to switch characters and completely stop playing.

Side note that is a cousin of the other side note. I’d speculate that as soon as they bring back living world season 1 / a way to farm sprockets the watchwork mining pick will get removed from the gem store.

You can get a home instance node to get sprockets every day. I get 6 to 8 every day from it. I sell 250 at a time on the TP when I get too many. I can’t use them fast enough.

I also have the sprocket generator along with other things in my home instance.

I recently finished the ascended spinal backpack and a piece of ascended zealot gear so my sprocket horde is gone. Plus when I made Mawdrey his lamps use them I think? Not sure anymore its been awhile since I made him <3

People will be mad that they can’t dye their basic weapons, but as the owner of the Nevermore I wouldn’t mind. More options is always good but I know it’ll be a lot of work as every legendary is unique and will need different work done on them. Plus any new Legendaries will have to have this option implemented which may be bad since people might never realize what the classic skin was. So I don’t think it’ll ever come to be unfortunately.

Nope. Only permanent tool I bought, and will probably be the only tool I’ll ever have. If they ever make a watchwork sickle or axe I’ll buy it in a heartbeat, but they don’t currently exist. Side note you could purchase Wintersday gathering tools during the festival that gave a chance of snowflakes, but those aren’t permanent.

Side side note zealot gear is ridiculous! 500 sprockets per piece of gear!

Necromancers can do the damages and is extremely survivable if you unlock reaper and get two health bars. Condition damage minion whatever is also nice and very survivable without any toughness in your armor.

Then there’s zerker warriors and guardians who do the damages and can be survivable depending on how you set up. People often think dragon hunters are tanky builds but it’s just Aegis usually.

Hell no. Play literally any other mmo if that’s something you want. People come to this mmo because it doesn’t do ridiculous things like resetting the armor you need every update, and you’re opening the gates to that.

Also Anet wouldn’t make more money off Legendaries. The amount of people who buy gems to get more gold for Legendaries isn’t big.

And lastly decide if it would or wouldn’t make a difference. You can’t have both because it’s convenient for you.

[Suggestion] Surface water should have skills

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

MoarChaos.8320

You can still dodge.

~EW

Not if your immobilised

You can’t do that on land either, so what’s your point?

~EW

You can still attack , block, blind, Condi clear, heal all of which you can’t do on the surface of the water.

It’s like getting immo mid air. There’s nothing you can do.

Which has nothing to do with my point… which is only that while you’re on the surface of the water, you can still dodge. Dodging is still an available action.

~EW

And you cannot dodge if you are immobilised, which risen like to use as the first skill often. Therefore you cannot dodge.

Removing an immobilize is different than dodging. Two separate actions. That doesn’t change the fact that dodging is available while you are swimming on the surface.

My comment was not directed towards the usefulness of the dodge, nor suggesting it’s available no matter the condition you’re inflicted with. All things being equal, dodging is as available on the surface of the water as it is in the water as it is on land. It exists. That is all.

You’re picking an argument that does not exist.

~EW

Not picking an argument huh? You can also open your map and waypoint the split second before an attack hits you as well. Obviously nothing is wrong with being immobilized in a state where you don’t have any skills, because of your ground breaking suggestion.

Also what was your point if there’s no argument? Dodges exist?

Salvage kits

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: MoarChaos.8320

MoarChaos.8320

People who frequent fractals are being driven insane by salvage kits. They are a golds worth of a drop so it’s very hard to even consider destroying them. The problem is simply that they don’t stack. The 20 use ascended salvage kit is also a rare drop in fractals. So if you get that then maybe people consider throwing away the singles they get, but me and my friends just can’t, and we got the 20 as well.

So if you disagree that’s fine, but my argument is that all salvage kits should be a normal stack that you can split and reform as you please. There’s absolutely no reason that they should remain the way they are, and for me it just seems like a glaring mistake that just gets shrugged off as you continue playing. As an added bonus throwing in the ability to hold shift and drag across multiple bag slots to evenly split to the best of the stacks ability would be amazing as well, Minecraft style.

Cheers

I’m sorry, but there is no reason for this item to remain as rare as it is. I didn’t even know it existed and I do nothing but fractals if I’m short on play time. It’s not trade-able so your argument is just moot. What’s being undervalued about something with no value? Is being upset over someone having the same toy as you really the side you want to be on? So since there are people getting it and throwing it away. Why can’t the people who want it have a reasonable chance of getting it? So I don’t have truly have the desire to dedicate time to aim for it, but there is no options to. And I think that’s a problem.

[Advice] Looking for organised fractal groups

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: MoarChaos.8320

MoarChaos.8320

As soon as I notice someone who seems inexperienced I just explain the basic mechanics of what’s coming and give tips. After t4 fractals my recommended fractals usually take longer because of this. It can be bothersome spending more time on the lower numbers, but I think teaching people will pay off. However if you expect to be taught the basics at t4 I’m going to go with whatever the group decides. There’s a YouTube video or guide to everything, lying to people isn’t going to get them to help you. You also can’t accommodate someone if you don’t know what they need help with.

My biggest complaint for experienced and inexperienced players is the molten facility fractal. The easiest way to go through the first part is to kill everything in the center. Then one person who isn’t paper steps on the button and sprints to the gate when they see everyone go through. Group kills the last two in the center by the main gate. One person needs to survive holding the second button and sprinting back. Extra points for holding it long enough for the first button person to rejoin the group. * the group should barely enter the main room*. Everything respawns at the buttons and main room! You do not want to be there longer then you have to, and you don’t want to assume anything of your PuG and have to restart.

The fight is Aetherblade retreat ring around the rosie style with lava buckets unless everyone is on the same page for a different mechanic. You at least get it done consistently playing the boss fight how it’s intended. Trying for one burn is unnecessary risk when someone is out of the fight for 10 minutes if they die. Don’t focus on breaking him, and don’t focus on staying to dps him. They both regen if you spend too much time waiting on your team to try and type don’t do that without dying.

Anyway that’s just my tips so you can avoid that one horrible experience I had with a group with inexperience and one actual elitist. The inexperience didn’t bother me, but the elitist that was assuming too much made the entire thing hard until he left.

TL;DR You can leave the main room in molten facility fractal by going through the cracks in the center by the drill. easy reset it you sprint to the beginning. Just be careful there are extra dredge down there.

If you type /wiki world boss it’ll bring up the timers for them to let you know which ones will be spawning soon and the closest waypoint. You’ll at least know where to run if you don’t have it. You do that by copying the code that’s in brackets and saying it in game. Then you can just click on it in chat for the map to automatically show you it.

Also you can /wiki anything in game.

If you hold shift and click on an item or waypoint it’ll link it. Allowing people to see what new skin or weapon you got or making it easy for them to follow you through waypoints. Random things I felt like mentioning. Get to lvl 80 as far as you can :P

I’ve made a nice staircase / jumping puzzle in my guild hall and I love showing people the scenery. It’s kind of breath taking up there, and the climb is well worth it if you haven’t been up there. You really have no idea how nice it is up there if you haven’t been.

It’s in the Gilded Hollow so that may be a bit lack luster for those who have already been up there, but I highly recommend it for those who make guild jumping puzzles since my path heavily goes on natural paths the devs have made. It’ll also let you see the potential of areas if mine goes a different route then yours.

If you’re worried about not having an open guild slot worry not, you don’t have to join to enter a different guild hall. As long as you’re in my party/squad you can enter through the gate in Auric Basin. Though I do know that if anything happens like I leave the party you’ll get kicked from the guild hall. That shouldn’t happen, but there is that smidge of risk involved with doing the scenic jumping puzzle this way.

You do not need HoT or gliding to complete any of the path I made! You’ll be considered playing on extra hard mode though since it you slip you’ll die Mario style, having to start at the beginning again. Can’t do much about that, but if you ask I can make extra platforms for you then delete them. I recommend taking your time and temporarily joining the guild so you can go at your own pace and maybe try later if you want a break.

Lastly there are three pumpkins that signify the end of each part of the path. They are on altars and not hidden at all. The last pumpkin is on a tree instead of an altar. You will definitely realize you’re at the end when you stand on it and you can see Tarir and open skies. The urge to say “I’m flying Jack!” may hit you if someone is standing behind you, this is unavoidable. Part 2 / pumpkin 2 is the end of the scenic path. Part 3 / the last pumpkin is intended to be more difficult. Until you reach the clouds on the tree though its still a pretty nice scenic path. Look for lanterns past pumpkin 2.

I’ll be starting tours at 2pm EST if there is even one person interested. I play on NA so this may effect some of you, but I’m not sure. It’s instanced so I don’t think it does, but again not sure. Let me know on the forums if you’re interested that way others can see if any sort of tour group will actually be there

I’ll most likely be doing multiple dates / anytime if the tour time doesn’t work for you. Also if you just want to see it by yourself ask for a guild invite. It starts on a pillar in [Tower Arena Waypoint]

Guaranteed Blue Skins at Aetherpath

MoarChaos.8320

The only people affected by this change are those who wear the skin, flippers, and lucky people. So essentially the 1%. There is absolutely nothing unhealthy about this change for the game, and “prestige” is ridiculous. If you only wear the most expensive skins that’s fine. That’s your end game, but you can’t reasonably argue that fulfilling a popular request was aimed specifically to devalue your skins.

However, this came with revitalizing dungeons a bit, and it was very well received. I’m pretty positive they noticed the market of this skin afterwards, and they might just go to the next most expensive ""prestigious"" skin and balance the accessibility of it. The most expensive skins in the game not being a legendary or having adequate reason to be, simply shouldn’t be.

Accessibility is da bomb!

Side note: I’m of course all for other skins becoming harder to get as well. That is also apart of balancing accessibility. If there is a reason something should be rare, it should of course be rare. Blue versions of existing skins on arguably the hardest dungeon path should be accessible to the people who are coming there for them. They deserve it.

There might be a couple thousand or so that were at the cusp of completion that might be slightly steamed, but I think the new system was well worth it and gives them a much easier chance of completion. Plus there was the warning with SAB so they at least warned us before deleting it. Which created an influx of players interested in doing essentially all of 1-50.

New raid lobby would be a great thing, don’t know why there are so many Debby Downers. Whether you don’t like raids or want to talk about the legendary weapons until the end of time there’s no need to belittle any progress that happens. Progress of any kind is always a good thing. I only do pvp daily rooms occasionally, and sometimes guild pvp missions. It’d be ridiculous to complain about updates that are heavily pvp based just because I choose not to do them. So just enjoy the game as normal and if you can’t enjoy the game because of something that was never there, take a healthy break until you can enjoy it again.

Master of Baubles W2 problem

If you definitely got all the treasure chests and the maze one my guess is that you might have missed the one blue bauble on the pagoda that has/had 6 toads in it. The jump can be annoying, and I almost forgot to go back to it when I decided I’d just go for the maze one for a moment and go back to it after. There’s also the 5? Blues at the very end of the eagle shortcut that you need that could be overlooked since you stop by the eagle for his bauble and a key but don’t actually take off.

Either way I don’t think anyone can top me. At the very end when I was about to grab the final bauble past the gate it pushed me into the group of infantile clouds trapping me. It forced me to restart seeing the bauble and the final boss just sitting there. Then I dced or was kicked halfway through on my second attempt. The amount of backtracking is just ridiculous, really disliked the design of the achievement. Tribulation mode of this map was a lot better for me :/

I’m all for teaching people fractals, but going with under level people isn’t my game plan when finishing my adept fractals after champ and veteran. You can easily continue your solo leveling runs from that video while having an lfg open that says XP runs or something similar and you’ll probably end up with a party.

I doubt they would ever give a mystic coin for it since they’re intended to be pretty rare, and yes I understand you can get multiple accounts to do a farm for them. That however is irrelevant to the average player. I just don’t agree with Isis, which sounds hilarious xD. The current mastery system is really all about the grind if you want a HoT legendary or just the perks to do maps and other content like treasure shrooms. Then it comes to a screeching halt when you finish Tyria or HoT masteries. So if that was a driving metaphor you’d be dead. Mwahahahahahaha (cough)

So please give us at least a spirit shard and the ability to repeatedly fill our finished bars! A shiny bauble, old ticket stubs, a slightly round pebble, anything! For some of us the feeling that completely useless XP gives is unbearable.

It of course has no effect on my gathering addiction, completing maps on my 80s (for the joy of exploration at least), and stories I get immersed in with certain events, but then it keeps going back to that feeling of I’m wasting my time since I’m getting XP for every little thing I do as a reminder. I would also like to see the laurel, guild commendation, and other options I’ve forgotten since I’m going to be making another Condi build when I get to that character, and don’t see why forcing Silverwastes farm would be a good thing. Silverwaste farm definitely gets you a ton of stuff, but telling anyone they have to do something isn’t good. The pvp reward track option is of course there, but again that is making someone detract from a different reward they may want.

My point being it should have the other options since you have unlocked it, and kinda unlocked it again since you need to spend bandit crests on that first one. And I just remembered Fractals or course has rings so it should be inside that kitty robot as well.

Also I always assumed as the HoT stuff gets older it’ll eventually move into those vendors in an update. It it doesn’t it doesn’t, but I’d be curious as to the reasons why. Anyway have fun in game

Energoo you can feel offended by whatever you want, but the OP doesn’t want a color change because the current theme for them is girly and gay (your words). The colors just don’t fit with his character design.

I think it’s a great idea, but it would entail a lot of work for just one profession. Then all the other professions would of course like the option, since options are always great when making a character. I think a monochrome black, white, and grey would fit the most characters and play into the chaos theme very well. Though I’m currently happy with the vibrant colors the mesmer profession offers to the game it’s pretty obvious that it leaves a ton of character designs looking completely out of place when they should play in fine. So I think it would be perfectly fine with the Mesmer being the first to get the option since they kind of uniquely have this problem.

Please pm me if you’ve been offended by something I’ve said I’d rather not derail a discussion about power color change with a dead horse topic.

If they ever make black or gold butterflies It would cool to see a Magi themed character (Magi’s a show)

I know you can love the game without going near the trading post to buy things as you can just wait to gather it yourself, or any form of that. However in my opinion the rational person wants as much gold as they can possibly get because if you somehow get everything you desire for gold, you can convert it into gems! Gems being the thing you buy with real money that can buy gem store exclusive items.

I personally wait till I have real life money to spend on the game for the gem store items I want so I think that goes in my favor for being able to make the most out of any gold given.

So since I have a huge list of expensive things I’m working for, I would absolutely love the help. The current thing I’m making is the legendary staff Nevermore <3. There’s a ton of stuff I could go into detail about why it’s expensive and how much it costs, but I’ll hurry say it’s expensive, and you actually have to pay the game to make it. Whether people enjoyed the way they choose to grind or not.

Anyway I love explaining things, and can answer pretty much any question you may ever have in game. So pick me ! I want a friend made out of gold! Feed my addiction! Me! Lol

-best of luck

Side note: Dungeon/fractal elitist should probably be avoided if you want to enjoy the game by doing whatever you want. It you enjoy metas! they should still probably be avoided This is strictly towards negative players.
