It’s pretty impossible for games to prevent this. Roadhog in Overwatch being a prime example. I hope they try and fix it nonetheless though.
It’s not about having to get a two new voice actors. It’s about what kind of work they’ll actually have to do. They would have to perform through the entire dialogue of the game. That’s not just doing a quick monotone reading it in a girl and male version that is that race. It also means that a huge portion of the game has to written again through the perspective of the new race.
So I flat out do not want a new race to be worked on. I’ll be the one to say it. Being orange lizards for example isn’t content, and the amount of lore for the actual content would be immense. Plus I don’t want more low level zones. We already have a ton and they make sense.
However! If the new race is introduced as lvl 80 I’m all for it! It’ll mesh very well with the game. It’ll still be an immense undertaking for redoing every single voice line in a new light, but I can see it working. If their personal story for Zhaitan is more of a living history mote. But that’s sounds clunky in itself so I just don’t want another race. There’s no need for one, and we’re already slipping on how Norns are supposed to be.
There’s nothing mechanically wrong here, but I don’t know how else to report this. If you go to weapons in the black lion trading post and go to highest first you won’t see a legendary at number one. You’ll see a rare quality staff with berserker stats. I haven’t tried but I think the only way to get it would be to take any rare berserker staff and use an upgrade extractor from the gem store.
So it may be a gold seller trying to move their money around is why I’m putting it here. It also might be nothing. Anyway just thought it should be looked at if it does get purchased.
Also it was listed on December 10th.
Well if the enjoyment is to hamper others I’m against it. So I’m not taking away his character, there’s just no need to have giant characters in a jumping puzzle when people want to do a jumping puzzle, not look at giant characters.
What the hell? DON’T TOUCH MY CHARR!!!
Why?
What makes you think the TP being removed will make it better for you? If anything it’ll make everything expensive instead of what you want to be cheaper. Right now they’re in demand. When wintersday is over and farmers see what they could farm it’ll get better. It’s how every festival has gone since ever.
Economics can be disgusting. You’ll be far more unhappy if someone is changing worth of your money and merchandise for you.
Yea. I would suggest adding the Ley Anomally that you can get a mystic coin from each day. Mystic coins are shooting up right now since Winter’s presence uses more then most legendaries right now.
Hmm. I don’t want to give up my broken instance to test that out further. I have no idea if this is true, but it feels like if too many people try and join one instance it doesn’t let any of them join the open spot and waits for a single person who’s not trying to join at the same time. No matter what’s the case make us into wisps, remove the ability to join at 2 minutes, and we have no reason to be able to see what someone is targeting.
I agree. We’re all on separate teams. It’s probably just an over sight that we’re able to target someone who’s not on our team.
The cool thing to do this year is targeting people I guess. Didn’t know that was possible since we all seem to be enemies. Can this be removed at least?
UTC doesn’t change for daylight savings is what gets people.
Then there’s the added bonus of wasting loading a map because you joined with 2 minutes left in bell choir, or the jumping puzzle, or insert festival game here. Because it happens everywhere.
AFAIK, all instances of a map are on the same timer, so you wouldn’t have found an alternative map with more time anyway. The map doesn’t kick you out when it refreshes, so your best option is to sit tight until reset. You then at least avoid getting the “map is full” issue again.
Fair point actually, but it’s not really common knowledge. However, that just makes it clearer that they don’t need to be on the same timer, and that’s one of the problems with the current system for festivals. All the rooms don’t need to start at the same time as there is no point to doing so. The only thing you have to hope for right now is that your map breaks and the timer stays at 0, so you can keep going and going. I say that because every other match when it should just start up again, it will again tell me the map I’m trying to join is full even though I was just there. It also pins you in spot with an invisibility buff for a couple seconds so you can’t spam trying to get a map by the way. Taxing on the system I guess?
I also want the wisp functionality from Halloween, because it worked very well for just doing the jumping puzzle. Odd thing is even though the wisps are amazing for running the clock tower, the clock tower had issues that were much worse then winter wonderland, when I think back to it. If it’s your first time doing clock tower you basically have to wait for other people to have fun. If you fell early from not knowing the path yet, it quickly becomes grating when all you want to try is that part right at the beginning. Instead you have to wait for the entire jumping puzzle to be finished if someone experienced is in your lobby. To top it off at the end of clock tower the server determines there’s not enough time to go again, it will give a line from the Mad King, and you’ll sometimes have to wait an entire 3 minutes doing nothing. And again it lets people come in at the 2 minute mark so that they can enjoy not doing anything.
So remove the ability to join if the match is ending in 2m, and don’t have them arbitrarily start at the same time.
Also wisps are awesome. It would be great for the majority of players, and you can make it a toggle if a vocal minority becomes super against it. My settings shouldn’t be someone else’s choice, as I can assure them their skins don’t matter as I set people to greyish pink default with my current settings options when I need to. That option doesn’t mean the wisps are out of the question either just because it marginally makes it better for people “whining”. For none shall stop my crusade to make the game more game mechanics vs. player instead of system vs player which is what I think it is for festivals.
Why are people so against making it easier for other people to see things? I guess ‘cause it’s easy for you it must be easier for everyone else, huh?
Also the Halloween JP wasn’t technically moving. It was just an illusion. If you went too slow, you’d die. Similar to the Wintersday one. Weird, isn’kitten
It’s the slippery slope of difficulty. Now matter how easy, people will always want it easier. As a result, 75% of the people find the JP boringly easy and can farm/grind it million times an hour while 2% of the population is on the forum whining how hard it. How far do you go to cater difficulty until the entire game becomes: press spacebar to win
You’re just being plain ignorant if you think we’re asking for them to make the jumps easier. We can see for the Halloween jumping puzzle. We want to be able to see the same way for this jumping puzzle.
Make us all wisps. Wintersday is arguably the bigger holiday. Don’t see why trolling is allowed/possible. No I’m not saying just by being there on that race it’s trolling. I’m saying people are able to troll by picking max size charr/norn and sitting places with black/white wings to cover ledges.
Remove the ability to join a lobby that will finish in 2 minutes.
Remove the ability to join a lobby that will finish in 2 minutes.
Remove the ability to join a lobby that will finish in 2 minutes.
I’m actually on a good pc this year, but the wait times are still ridiculous for every wintersday event, because of how terrible the matchmaking is set up. “The world you are attempting to join is full” over and over and over and over and over and over. It’s such a glaring bug, because sometimes it won’t say that right away. You’ll be sent to the loading screen as if you’re going to get in, but then you wait 5 minutes and it poops you back out. woo
Then there’s the added bonus of wasting loading a map because you joined with 2 minutes left in bell choir, or the jumping puzzle, or insert festival game here. Because it happens everywhere.
And to go back to the jumping puzzle when you do get in and you’re decent at the jumping puzzle. Your biggest enemy is the other players you’re supposed to enjoy playing with. Enemy name tags?? Why? Why. Why. I love changing my options just to do a jumping puzzle. Halloween gets the amazing functionality of everyone being a wisp. How does the arguably bigger holiday have people who purposefully pick max size and black/white wings allowed?
Pick a different path because you don’t need to wait on snowflakes says person one. Amazing suggestion. Now I’ve taken a different path to where. they. all. meet. He’s not standing on a snowflake, what is that argument? Person 2 it’s not my fault for your short comings. It might not be, but we just want to be able to see the jumping puzzle 100% of the time. Not some of the time.
So nay say if you want, but I want everyone to be a wisp. If you’re an angry charr and norn I’m going to assume you want the halloween wisp functionality removed. Otherwise how can you say we shouldn’t be wisps for this one?
Also the first part of this post is the most doable, and I want that the most. Just in case this argument goes in circles because of including charr and norn problems in the jumping puzzle.
I didn’t use any guides, and I never got a strange rock. I used 50-75 skritt contracts and only got ancient wood which I needed. One of my guildies got two and sold them. So I didn’t even get started off on it, but I still want it, and I’m glad it’s in the game. People can go overboard on any new item. That doesn’t mean arena net should feel they have to compensate you for some loss you caused yourself. I also thought it might be a legendary ring.
I enjoyed the strange rock scavenger hunt, and hope they put more no hand holding things in the game.
… if price tag is sufficient justification for stat swapping then there are a bunch of weapons that deserve it as well.
The difference being that the Triforged Pendant is an ascended item. So don’t jump that to mean everything expensive should be able to stat swap. I just agree that it’s fair since the bloodstone amulet can do it, and the op wouldn’t mind a recipe that costs something to do it.
For some classes it might just be testing if a fish can climb a tree. It’s hard to test how good the build for you class if you’re something like a druid or chronomancer.
It costs a ton more to get then any other amulet in the game. The other amulets don’t even come close. I don’t have it, but they should allow it to stat swap since the bloodstone ascended are essentially pseudo legendaries. No one’s being hurt, by what they can’t see.
Charge scarcity is a non issue for not having a feature. You even mentioned the farm for charges. It’s just map completing the cities. Whether that’s hard or time consuming for a person doesn’t matter. Some players will always have an abundance and some will always be out even if they bought a new wardrobe slot. If it were to be implemented.
You results are like that because you’re at a king sized candy corn node. Not because you’re an asuran.
You buy the magic warped bundles.
It seems to have to do with all the animations being set to consuming tools. So in theory that shouldn’t be a problem for the endless tools, but then xp also follows that pattern.
So what you’re saying could actually be possible. If how much you’re going to get is determined at the start of each harvest then it could be consuming 4 or more tools during the harvest and then you don’t have to hit f again. But I think they like the way it is since it kinda shows, hey you got extra because you harvested and you can still harvest a bit more.
I was interested so I did some short research on it. Sometimes you will gather four when using the basic oricalchum tools. However, you will never get extra xp since only 3 tools will be consumed at one harvest. Gathering the extra wood and ore that remain there after a harvest will consume another tool and give you xp.
I hope this isn’t for market manipulation, but I have the gargoyle shield sitting in my bank for my warrior. I couldn’t decide between The Dead Stop and the Gargoyle Shield, but anyway here’s what you asked for.
Ah, you’re being ridiculous, because things are interfering with restrictions you’ve placed on yourself. And there’s nothing wrong with that. So to answer you’ll always get 3 if you’re using the merchant tools on wood and ore. You have a chance to get more. Harvesting nodes however are extremely fickle and so are rich nodes. Rich nodes have a higher chance to give you rare gems though.
This sound like it’s a change for pvp/wvw. I don’t see how being guaranteed to catch someone using something like super speed and condi clears in their build is fair to the opposing player or pve mob.
Extra materials ruin your xp?
As far as I can tell you’re saying other races beside humans are getting more strikes then you. They’re either more lucky or have more gathering boosts then you or both.
I believe Necrotic is correct. I can’t cheer because my light armor ley line shoulders will impale my brain. I’m not familiar with anets animations, but I’m familiar with my own and what I’ve seen in game. There isn’t a slightly different animation for wearing this type of armor anywhere in the game as far as I’ve noticed.
You’re just flat out mistaken Traced.
I’m seeing some misconceptions. Everyone in the game gets 3 strikes from wood and mining nodes. You don’t get more for being a Slyvari. However, you always have a chance to get a bonus strike, and you can get a higher chance of that using various things like the guild gathering potion or banners on the map. There are other things but you can look them up.
Also not everyone has to wait to press f again to get that fourth strike. If you have something such as the cosmic logging tool, it has the quality of life to gather your fourth strike as well if you get one. That’s the one I have so I don’t remember what other tools will get your fourth strike as well.
On the other hand, it’s unlikely to be a simple change, as currently only 3 sets of profession animations need to be tested against each weight — disabling the per-prof restriction would, at minimum, triple the number of interactions required. It wouldn’t be as burdensome as re-inventing the design of armor, but it also would be far, far from a trivial amount of work. Worse, it would increase the amount of work needed to release new sets.
Personally, I’d rather have more new sets rather than access to any of the six sets of existing ones in the other weight classes.
how exactly are you thinking the work would be increased foe new sets? the weights would still be separate just not bound to your class. I have to agree I would prefer new sets but I love this too (no more heavy armor), and honestly I think this would help produce them at least a little. They could just pick one weight at a time and rotate through them slowly instead of having to make a set for each weight.
How exactly are you thinking it would work? Right now, they have to test heavy armor only against the animations of three professions; with a change like this, they’d have to test it against six additional professions (along with the relevant skill & movement animations). While it’s nothing close to the amount of work required for mix & match, it’s still going to cost. More importantly, it increases the ongoing costs for each piece of armor — given we already complain about the long turn-around time for new sets, perhaps we want to avoid increasing that.
Again, I’m not saying it’s a bad idea; I’m suggesting that I don’t think it’s as cheap as the OP thinks. Given that, a lot of us might prefer to leave things as they are.
Professions don’t change character models. The armor for that character already works for all weights. Coding would be the only potential mess, but that’s always the case for any change. If it’s too much work, and a bad point to work on it I wouldn’t blame them for telling us no.
The only problem seems to be that a heavy chest and medium pants clip, but if it’s implemented like the OP suggests then that won’t even be an option. So I’m all for it. Also the arguments against seem to be people will just make all their characters look like hookers from a brothel. One that’s incredibly rude, two it’s not your choice to make for someone, and three is that every class can run around naked regardless. Not having armor is a thing.
Also 3rd gen legendaries are only an assumption by the community. They could go back to making wonderful looking exotic skins.
Dear MisterOiZo, the people who have legendaries aren’t the majority of people that play guild wars 2, we’re the minority. The gemstore team that is responsible for making new stuff no matter what. Saying they’re the reason core system re coding isn’t happening doesn’t make sense. An example of what changing anything might do would be those odd caves and houses in core Tyria that became bright as the sun for awhile.
The change to add dye channels would be nice, but it’s not realistic to ask for with them working so hard to put out content we enjoy right now. If it creates a huge bug, which is common for changing a core system, they have to work non stop to fix it. They just can’t have a bug sitting there, and if it happens after they implement it then there is no magic switch to go back to the way things were.
There used to only be one to choose from…

Entitlement
3: belief that one is deserving of or entitled to certain privileges
You want the HoT legendaries to become unbound so that you can sell them and buy them on the trading post. The system is not only bound, but you can only make one of each. So again, why in the world would that be ok to change? They’re not even all out. Just make it a mad dash to make money because you’re set up to profit off it / make your legendary easier? No.
Also legendary skins are preference. You seemed to skip that part when you heard better so let me start with it this time. Their price doesn’t matter if you don’t think it looks nice with your character. However every single HoT legendary is much more expensive then gen 1 legendaries. Also special snowflake status can be a reason why someone wants something called legendary. I have Ad Infinitum because I do a lot of fractals and thought might as well. It’s way to bright for me and goes with nothing I have so I don’t have it showing.
None of your reasons to make them unbound are good for the game as a whole. Like others have said the price of materials isn’t a reason why they would make them unbound, so what’s an amazing reason that doesn’t hurt the playerbase that enjoys that they’re bound?
(edited by MoarChaos.8320)
Why in the world would they make the HoT legendaries unbound now? That’s incredibly ridiculous to even discuss. It would be a slap in the face to every single person who’s made a HoT legendary. The entire concept of them is that they’re better then the gen 1 legendaries, because they’re bound. I would of included the collections, but not all of them have it now. That doesn’t mean The Nevermore is a better skin then Bifrost it just means the Nevermore is harder to get. Skins will always be preference.
Second why do I keep hearing people saying that the HoT legendaries prices were determined by the current TP market? They use a ton more materials, but they don’t fluctuate. The market could be flooded by materials and then they would be cheaper to make. Anet isn’t looking at the market each time they come out with a new one. They set the bar for how much materials it’ll take to make these bound legendaries and now it’s set.
And god kitten Anet hasn’t touched the TP ever. You guys are delusional. The only way they have ever touched the economy is by introducing new content. So hardened leather and mystic coins are out of hand. They added a way to get one coin every day. It’s a pain and takes forever, but it’s there.
The entitlement. This isn’t even quality of life, it’s just I want the blue one instead of the green one. I love the quality of life that they are currently focused on, which is putting more things into material storage. Calling them lazy is just so bad.
Who care about bugs, I want to be green.
Do you guys really need to go against Super Adventure Box that much? They can work on world 3 as a pet project and release it some April in the future. Content you don’t like doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be in the game no matter how vocal you want to be. It’s a festival. People can’t be happy in Super Adventure Box and hope for world 3 one day because it’s an April fools joke?
There’s nothing to argue. If you don’t research something and spend money on it you’re going to be mad when you see that there was a cheaper option. The popular legendaries are much cheaper to craft. Most other legendaries are cheaper to buy the precursor then continue from there.
The crafting option is nice because you can see progression and are guaranteed to get what you want.
I want to use this skin T^T
I find myself standing a good distance away from my friend, when the queen bee buzzing starts to get to me. A slider would be a god send.
Do you like the government touching your pay checks? Whatever your answer is why do you want Arena net to touch the economy? It’s literally impossible to please the buyers and sellers at the same time.
People can be so nice. Implementing an amazing feature can now be taken as how dare this not be a basic feature. To HoT was very little playable content so they conscientiously put this in as a roadblock to extend play time. Into that mastery isn’t character progression. It sure isn’t character progression because it’s account progression.
