I registered several times and never got a confirmation from anet. I do receive emails from them occasionally but no idea if they are the newsletter they are talking about or just because they have my email address. If the confirmation email did not get to me and I was picked for the beta I wonder how I would know it did not also get nerfed.
Playing a human? Ugh. I do not see the attraction of playing a human in a fantasy game.
They didnt give confirmation emails for signing up to the newsletter. There was a discussion about that somewhere, where they said “Maybe we should have done that.”
Simply put, do an email search for Guild Wars 2. It should show everything you got. You probably are getting the emails and didn’t get selected, sadly.
Looks like I figured it out. It had some odd filters applied to it, which is weird, because I hardly ever use filters anymore, haven’t had the need. Maybe one of my kids did it?
Anyway, found it, fixed the filters, and now its done. I hope. LOL
tell me, does only the accounts flagged beta get the beta character slot? If so, donari, check next time you log on and see if you have a beta character slot – I have one now.
Wow. I found it. Sort of.
I’m using gmail. I did a search, and found it. The tag says that its in my inbox folder. Leaving search, I go back into my inbox folder, and its not there.
I go back into the search, STAR it, and lo and behold, it appears in my inbox. Remove the star, and it disappears again. All of my emails from guild wars 2 does this.
Whats worse is, they all have a tag showing they are in my inbox folder, not my spam folder. So I have no idea whats going on, making them invisible unless I star it. And if its doing this to guild wars 2 email, I wonder what other emails i’ve also missed.
So I’ve had some problems getting emails from ANET. I DID get a beta portal key. So I’m wondering if anyone knows if they sent out the emails with the beta information yet? It does seem to be getting kinda close, and I’m wondering if my system screwed it up again.
Exactly.
Most people work on weekdays. Including people at ArenaNet.
Do you really expect them to call in people to work during a weekend just so that you can join a beta? They will have to work plenty of extra hours the coming months before release already so I doubt they would want to require them to do even more so.The beta tests are not for the customers benefit but rather for ArenaNets.
Actually its not unreasonable. If they really are testing, they need as many testers online as possible for the greatest amount of results. By choosing a time many people are at work, etc, they cut out a significant portion of their testers, IE testing won’t be as effective.
An occasional weekend to get adequate testing isn’t unreasonable, and lots of people worldwide have to work occasional weekends anyway, so its not crazy.
Next time tell us the test duration first..

Or maybe people should stop thinking about betas as preview events and accept that they are actual tests and as such doing short burst is logical and makes sense?
Amen. People seem to look at these things as a free sample. It isn’kittens a beta TEST!!!!
I will admit though that it is a little disappointing to only get a few hours total, in the middle of the week, much of it during most people’s work hours. If this was a preview rather than a test I WOULD be a bit upset.
I’m not sure, but I also think they were referring to first tier. Regardless, further tiers will take more time than first tier.
Yeah, that’s my understanding by now. It looks pretty clear where they’re heading, they might have to tweak WvW more to allow for old blob vs. blob gameplay, but should keep evolving further into more strategic play.
I think this also helps server matchups where server population is low compared to others; this way the few that are online don’t have to work as hard to upgrade compared to high server populations.
Really, though, I think the real benefit here is stopping trolls from burning up your supply on rams and screwing your upgrades.
If it takes 18 hours to upgrade a keep, I am sure people will run dolyaks desperately. Upgrade times are on ArenaNet’s hands, and if they intend it to be an important change, they’ll make it so that it’s not a simple “speed up”, but a requirement.
The article said it would take 20-40 minutes to upgrade. That tells us that if no dolyaks make it at all, it will upgrade after 40 minutes. If every dolyak makes it then it will upgrade in 20 minutes.
That was for towers. Also, they’re giving a rough idea, not that such duration is final.
I’m not sure, but I also think they were referring to first tier. Regardless, further tiers will take more time than first tier.
People aren’t really defending much atm anyways.
That’s patently untrue. At least on the servers I’ve played on. People don’t want to lose their hard-earned investments in upgrading a keep.
Sometimes though there aren’t enough numbers to both defend and attack, and choices have to be made based on the importance of what’s to be defended, what’s to be attacked, and location of troops at the time a decision has to be made.
I booked a week and a half off work spending like 5 hours a day grinding and didn’t get 1… My friend joined me for company for 3 days and he got a stack of 4… At least I got a precursor I guess but I do hope the pre purchase gives me access because I need to try the revenant. It’s getting annoying that I never get into guild wars beta’s xD
What do you mean AT LEAST?!? I’d have taken the precursor over the beta any day! seriously, and you’re complaining?! I’ve been playing since beta GW2, and have never gotten one.
Wow….
I feel this is positive:
1. I never liked spending gold to upgrade. I did it, but I didn’t like it.
2. We had a guy in our keep once who was angry because he was “left to die” by the zerg, started spending all the supply in the keep to build rams. Nothing we could do to stop him. Now, he can’t ruin our day like he did before.
3. I always felt Applied Strength and Fortitude were just too good; I’m glad to see it go.
4. There was often a conflict between people trying to upgrade and people taking supplies to fuel their sieges. This relieves that problem as well.
RATE the Revealed Elite specs best to worst

Rate the current revealed Elite Specs from best to worst in terms of how they interest you.
A little premature I think, with only three released so far.
OK, I am really getting tired of this belief that if you are not somehow actively buffing everyone around you that you are somehow a selfish class.
Condi-cleanse and redistribution, boon stripping, area CC and conditions all help a group during group play. Can we please stop labeling Necro as a selfish class simply because they don’t play like the other classes already? Not everything in this game revolves around dungeon speed runs. I could make the argument that thieves are the most selfish, but it wouldn’t be entirely true either.
I like the direction the Reaper is going in since they seem to be about both keeping with what the Necro does well (in direct team support) while also delivering better on the damage front.
This.
There’s so much boon spam, there isn’t a NEED for an entire spec dedicated to it! If you really want a bunch of might, get a War or an Ele. If you want Aegis and Protection, get a Guardian. As it is, either barely anyone wants defensive boons like Vigor, most have Fury coming out their ears and people outside of WvW don’t even know what Retaliation does. So even if this spec was ‘supportive’ to a team, if it didn’t give might or aegis, it’d be labled as trash anyway.
I agree with you two. I’ve really scratched my head wondering where all this kitten about selfishness in a class or build comes from? It seems rather stupid to me.
Not a massive lover of the name…but that goes out the window after reading;
This devastating melee brawler is at home in battle when surrounded by as many enemies as possible, cleaving through hapless foes for life-force sustainment. Once the reaper has enough life force, they can transform into a devastating avatar of destruction that leaves enemies frozen in terror.
Some overlaps to my old Dervish
I didnt think about that, but yeah, especially with the new shroud manafesting a scythe style weapon, it really is dervishy, isnt it?
This minor trait with chill on fear is kinda odd. Makes sense if it is adept or something. What if i want to fear someone off a cliff? My victim will have enough time to think and use condi removing thanks to walking speed my fear will give.
That will be a drawback, he WONT fall off the cliff; so you dont play a fear reaper in that case, you play a fear necro.
With fear reaper, you are trying to keep them disabled but close by to hammer them. Cliffs arent always available after all.
That being the case, this could be a lot of fun to combine with runes of the nightmare, necromancer, or sunless.
Well that’s generic. There’s already the ‘Reaper’ PvP title and loads of traits/skills named ’Reaper’s X’.
Whilst we’ll have to wait until tomorrow to see if it actually makes the class viable the examples they give are not encouraging. The traits make it seem like it’s going to be once again very selfish oriented and that shout is just another minion skills, and the weakest minion type at that.
So you could be a Reaper Reaper?! LOL
Is anyone else completely and utterly fed up with all the hysteria and bitterness over the Dragonhunter’s name? I swear this feels like the Ascended announcement all over again, except this time there isn’t even any proper basis for it.
Get OVER yourselves already, please. This is a new week for a new spec. Can we try focusing on that for three consecutive seconds?
No joke. Seriously it’s gotten ridiculous. Besides, while DH May have been uninspired, I believe chronomancer was far better. 50/50 record in any case.

I never lag. I mean, I almost never lag, seriously. Perhaps once in a very few times per YEAR do I ever lag.
Suddenly, since about friday, I’ve been lagging ALL THE TIME!!! I mean, seriously. I’ve lost fights in pvp and wvw that perhaps I could have won because my computer completely freezes during even just small fights involving, say, 3 or 4 people, where I could handle huge zergs before.
I’ve done some checks on my computer and I’m fairly convinced its not on my side, plus I’ve seen a few other people post about this too, and made me wonder if anet is doing something perhaps behind the scenes causing this lag?
Regardless though, this is very frustrating, as the lag is suddenly so often and so bad it makes it hard to play. Where I never had any especially.
Here is exactly what I run. http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fhAQNAsaBGx0QOVVSHIxgSX60CA-T1SDwAm2fIoygDHBABmBScIAlgPV6tT9HQ6DW8AAAYCSyJAgMA5bB-w
Still not sure about the blood sigil but I’m keeping it until I can think of something better. Also there are better foods and wrenches but I’m cheap
I have to ask, how do you deal with conditions?
Mantra heal + Menders Purity + Harmonious Mantras. It doesnt get any better than that.
amen
I need help on this build, Im Running 6/4/4 with S/P+GS can anyone give me some hint/help on making this a really annoying build for 1vs1/5vs5?
I’m running three different builds based on interrupts, depending on my mood:
1. based on mantras and trying to daze/stun as much as possible
2. Same as 1, but dropping one of the mantras in exchange for technobabble, a racial skill (obviously not available in pvp), and switch out the mantra trait in dueling with the blade training trait, and thus the healing skill with the signet heal
Its probably not as good, sacrificing too much defense for a little more daze, but I like it at times
3. The last was based around as many “randomizer” traits and skills as possible. It was more for fun than anything, but it surprised me and played better than I expected. It was molded around runes of lyssa and staff, both having random elements, and built it from there; it was in the end designed to do lots of boonshare/boonstrip/condition spread/condition strip with interrupts etc. I dont recall offhand what armor I put this one on:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fhQQNAW7alknpNtNoxGNcrNiphY6bxydqqkOQiBA-T1QRwAA2fokyvmKBBA-w
These arent set in stone, as I’m always playing around with different trait combos, etc. But it might give you some ideas.
And what you don’t get is that the only thing that matters in PvE is the damage.
So we should go ahead and remove a bunch of condis then. For example, chill obviously is worthless, because it isn’t damage, right? And maybe we should get rid of all the boons that dont do damage: protection, regeneration, aegis, blah blah blah.
Your zerker crippled mobs and put a couple stacks of no damage bleeds on it? Congratulations I guess…It’s not like the mobs are moving anyway, so cripple doesn’t do anything, and unless you’re specced into condie damage (hint: don’t do this), your bleeds do nothing.
If you’re using a PU phantasm build in PvE, you’re making an enormous mistake. There’s absolutely no content in this game that justifies traiting PU.
I did say it was an example, and yeah, the cripple is a weak example in dungeons. However, the point being that you are flat out wrong, more than dps matters.
And it’s funny. I just used phantasmal mage, PU, and phantasmal warden in a dungeon and ended up fighting a boss that slaughtered the rest of the group. Good group, bad timing this time around, something went wrong. The boss was injured, but not dead, Kept running around resurrecting group members while firing out phantasms. And it worked just fine.
So, yeah, actually it DID work. But you know, its easy to handwave and ignore evidence when it’s anecdotal.
But you know, worked for me.
Honestly, I’m not the best memser around, but I do pretty darned good with it, so I’m tempted to say this is a l2p issue. Learn that the class is more than just pumping out dps.
The main mistake you’re making here is coming into a thread discussing mesmer damage in dungeons and thinking that your open world PvE, PvP, and WvW experience have more than zero bearing on it. Can mesmer do a lot more than purely pump out dps? Sure they can. Does anyone care in dungeons? Not really. If you can’t pump out the dps while doing other things, then you’re dead weight on the team. They could bring a guardian instead, since guardians do most of what mesmers do and have high dps at the same time.
Edit: It’s also amusing that you’re telling maha that he should l2p mesmer better. He’s been one of the best (if not always the most diplomatic) PvE mesmers for probably longer than you’ve played this game.
Been playing since beta. Stop assuming things. Unless he was playing since alpha he HASNT been playing longer than me, and he HASNT that much more experience even then. But great way to make assumptions without even bothering to find out first. Makes you look like a fool.
DPS isn’t the god you make it. Its important, sure, but there are other things too. So, yeah. I stand by what i said. If i can keep playing in dungeons successfully, and do well, then yeah, its just fine.
You can tell me I’m wrong all you want, you can tell me my experience is anecdotal, but I do dungeon runs all the time with my mesmer and its just fine. And there have been times when something went wrong, and I’ve very often been the last one standing. I can solo many of the bosses in the dungeons too. Not all, granted, but many.
If mesmers suck so bad, that shouldn’t be possible.
So, yeah, L2P, accuse me of lying, whatever. But I stand by what I’ve done.
And seriously, longer than i’ve been playing the game? LMFAO!!!
EDIT: Yes mesmer DPS isnt as good as some others. But it doesn’t have to be. Each class brings something to the table, and if you really do think DPS is the only important aspect of the game, then you’re severely limiting yourself.
Do you believe that is the case?
I’d hope not, but you keep saying its not truly random. If it isn’t, what would you expect it to be?
Look, absolutely true randomness is a bit of a myth in most cases, especially in computer games, but they can make it as random as possible. So it really made me wonder why you multiple times made the accusation that there isn’t randomness in the game.
It was an odd statement.
I… guess I’m subscribed. I thought some emails I got were regular gw2 emails and not hot, but looking at them again, and at the info here, seems like I am subscribed.
I was concerned because the first time I tried, when the HoT site went live I kept on trying and trying to subscribe and it wouldnt let me, never got an email, then I missed the chance at the first beta (though I realize my odds were extremely low, having that issue dropped it from very low to impossible, through no fault of my own).
Then trying again, I didn’t get a confirmation… but just noticed that later on I DID get some emails, so…. I almost felt like I was stealth added or something.
An improvement to this newsletter system is to send a confirmation email to the ppl who subscribed indicating that it worked. The lack of a confirmation email can create confusion. Ppl simply don’t know if newsletter registration worked or not.
I will pass that along.
I have to agree. I signed up for the letter, but I’m not sure if it was successful. A confirmation email would have been a great thing to help settle things.
Randomness is supposed to be fair. However, there is reason to suspect that things might not be truly random.
So, what, the developers have some hidden code to favor some people over others?
You doing well somewhere is anecdotal so doesn’t really help much with the discussion.
Sure, its anecdotal. But simply crunching numbers doesn’t give the full picture either. Fact is, we also bring things to the table that others don’t.
(edited by Morfedel.4165)
Thats funny. I do very well in pvp, wvw, and pve with my mesmer. yawn
that’s cool, how many times though have you seen death and taxes associated with wvw and pvp though?
yeah, that’s what I thought.
so how’s your wvw and pvp experience relevant to a thread discussing full phantasm uptime and the DPS it is capable of?
What you don’t get is that there are more to phantasms than just putting out damage.
For one, you can cloak and hide while your phantasms continue to put out damage. I have a build that I based off PU, but instead of on death clone stuff, I went with phantasm buffs, whatever I could put in while cloaked. Conditions, etc, let my phantasmal duelists pick at whoever i’m fighting. with phantasmal fury and sharper images, each shot has a solid chance of critting for bleeding too.
Or the berserker. Four hits, four chances of bleeding, plus crippling.
I"m just throwing out a couple examples. Obviously there are others. Obviously other classes also have their synergies.
But all you are complaining about is the sheer numbers of our dps at best equals others. It ignores other factors.
Including, for example, extra targets. Doesnt help against large AOEs, but against single target attacks, phantasms can sometimes grab aggro from other enemies.
You’re thinking two dimensionally. Its not just about DPS. So, yes, its very relevant, thank you very much. Honestly, I’m not the best memser around, but I do pretty darned good with it, so I’m tempted to say this is a l2p issue. Learn that the class is more than just pumping out dps.
which is why I think its just fine to use my anecdotal evidence. If I do fine, and others also do fine, then it really isn’t a real issue to get worked up over. shrug
(edited by Morfedel.4165)
agreed, I would love to see more light and dark… and more weather for that matter too
No, i’d rather they just stick to emailing them out randomly.
It’s still random, except this time I wouldn’t be encouraged to waste my time grinding stale content.
This.
I didn’t grind the content because I don’t have time to waste. It would have been nice to have a chance to get the portal.
You have a chance to get into it from signing up like everyone does.
Consider also the following. They put in a drop that favors a large time investment cause more time is more RNG chances (sure some will get it right away but most who got one or more have grinded a lot). Aren’t those the kind of people they want in beta? The kind who do have time to waste and will play and test it?
Let me be more clear: I don’t have an open-ended amount of time to throw at a task which could very well end in failure doing content I dislike.
I do have 3-4 hours a day to play GW2 which I would be willing to commit to beta testing HoT.
To your last point, you assume ArenaNet is actually testing content with a beta test and not (as most of the rest of us understand it) simply running a marketing event.
And you assume they, what, don’t need to beta test? That its an already finished product or something and they are stringing us along?
Please. They need to beta test just like anyone else would need to. How you would decide that in this one instance a company somehow DOES’T need to beta test their new product is beyond me.
Thats funny. I do very well in pvp, wvw, and pve with my mesmer. yawn

Ok, I know that may sound strange, but i’ve signed up for the thing three times now, and I’ve not yet seen an email from them. I’m assuming I should have received SOMETHING by now.
And I’m concerned, because I found one of the beta portal keys, and it said we would receive emails on how to get in via the HoT mailing list; I’d rather not miss out because something was happening to my account.
If someone could help me out with this, I’d appreciate it.
I’ll add my two cents.
I think this was a brilliant idea… that needs some tweaking. For example, perhaps they could have made the beta drop game wide instead of just DT/SW… but then they probably would have had to lower the drop rate, but at least you wouldn’t have to grind on a map you may or may not like, you’d just play however you’d play anyway.
Or perhaps they could have done some kind of repeatable event, ala vinewrath, tequatl, etc, where each time ONE person in the group who earns at least a silver or something is guaranteed a beta key, then can’t get it again.
Or something. I think this was a good start, it just needs improving somehow.
Nope. I’ve done 23 SW runs and around 7-8 hours of Dry Top and NOTHING. Some people have spent 15 minutes and got one.
I had a friend of mine play for two weeks, got an abyssal dye AND a precursor, said the game was boring, and deleted his account before I had a chance to ask him for the precursor.
Had a friend come to help with the last boss in a dungeon, took so long we actually killed the boss seconds after he entered the dungeon, he never touched a thing. Yet, he got the final reward, and got a freakin named elite, a good one (don’t recall which) while the rest of us got crap.
It sucks, but it happens. Thing is, there is either/or RNG/grind in every mmo, so this doesn’t bother me.
Well, it bothers me a LITTLE, but not a whole lot. Luck is a fickle mistress.
Tbh, day after day after day of Silverwastes and Dry Top farming with no portal to show for it has drained me of pretty much all enthusiasm for getting into the beta.
That said, I like the approach – it just needs tweaking. They should have made it 24 hrs (or even 48, to cut down on the inevitable qq) with a much higher drop rate for that 24 hr (or 48 hr) period. I think missing out wouldn’t hurt quite so much that way; as it is, I’m not even enjoying the content right now, I’m just grinding through it because there’s that stubborn part of me that won’t relinquish the slim hope that this time a portal will drop …
Or make it game wide, so people can play however they want and still get a key.
This move by a net was one in my opinion of desperation.
They have designed hot based upon sw/Dt based upon these type of map mechanics…
Do events get a certain thing to kill and a day/night cycle (similar to sandstorm or breech event type basis). So they want people who are interested in these type of maps to test the beta and give favourable feedback on what they have done so far. (my feedback on playing the last beta was scathing as it’s honestly looking a truly grindy horror show). The idea of open world events/maps to be is horrific as there is very little control of bads to get a good outcome.DTOP/SW were only populated as it was the fastest way for some players to get gold (chests) rather than actually be interested in the map. The RNG hooks of Coat boxs/ amber fossils have truly wore off for most people. If more gold making zones arrive these areas will die off even more !
The beta key drop was a player idea on the forum from someone who didn’t get. The email invite – RNG is a truly cruel mistress of giving anything out. Looked at it for 20 hrs in these maps and my hate for drot/silver pastes has only but increased as a result.
Do we like this method of access? No.Does anet need favourable reviews of people who like dtop/sw as hot is based off this? Yes.
As opposed to maps that don’t do this and are nearly dead.
And speak for yourself. Do WE like this method? Maybe you don’t, but myself and others did. That doesn’t mean WE DID like it either. Some liked it. Others didnt.
Silerwastes and Drytop are more heavily populated than many(not all [perhaps., but many) of the other maps in the game even when beta ISNT going on, so don’t go around saying this was some desperate move on their part.
I think it was an experiment, for one. How else do people get into a limited beta? By RNG email.
So this time you had to do more than sign up for a mailing list. Wow, and that was some kind of crime? Perhaps they should have made the beta drop game wide instead of focused on maps, but it does make a kind of sense; finding the portal to head even deeper into maguuma.
But this method is a great way to make sure that ACTIVE players get into the beta.
(edited by Morfedel.4165)
Hm, talking about the shield and no phantasm, the chronomancer doesnt HAVE to use the new weapon, right? Can use the f5 and utilities, etc, and use our regular off-hands? Or is it required when in the specialization?
and continuum sounds great if you’re having trouble with jumping puzzle
use it, jump, fail, use it again and you’re back where you started
The changes sound amazing for wvw and pvp, but with the lack of phantasms, on x/shield setup, which are a major part of mesmer’s pve damage, I wonder if the wells and shield skills pack enough punch to compensate. Otherwise I dont see myself running Shield outside pvp or wvw.
I didnt even thnk of that, but between portal and now continuum…. well, except you need clones for continuum, it appears. So that may not work unless there are enemies to spawn them. Or unless a minimum effect + IP is sufficient.
Two of us are looking for a friendly PvX guild; we are a little more focused on the PvE side, but we do almost everything.
We want to make sure that the guild is fairly large and active, that they are doing guild missions, and maybe other stuff such as boss runs, dungeon runs, etc, with the occasional WvW and PvP dip.
We’ve both been playing since beta, and have been in some hardcore wvw guilds that did a little pve, but their hypercompetitive attitudes saw three of them now get shredded from within, and we are tired of this. We want fun, friendly, and easy going, while still being big and active.
We are on Borlis Pass, if that matters, but with mega server anything other than wvw shouldnt make a difference.
So if we sound like the type you want along, let me know!
I’ve been collecting all the mist-skins for weapons that mesmers use. kitten, now I have to get the mist-skinned shield lol
I’m not saying it IS doing this. I’m legitimately asking, curious whether others think this may be true.
I ask the question because, first of all, the Revenant: isn’t getting much skill selection from what we have seen. Weapon sets, and two legendaries which pretty much seem to fill slots 6-10 for you.
Second of all: it was that you could mix and match traits from several lines. Now, you get three. Or, two and an elite specialization. So I can essentially have three trees fully chosen, not 6 that I can pick and choose (to some extent anyway)
As such, it concerns me; it looks to me at first glance that we are having our build choices reduced for all classes, and very little choice for the Revenant at all.
But I’m not saying I’m right here, and I’d love to be proven wrong. So tell me, what do you think about this?
Potential build diversity does not equal actual build diversity. Right now there a lot of builds you could run, but those build are not viable and so wont be played. By restricting our choice it makes it easier for Anet to balance traits. Hopefully this will mean that their is more viable builds, and thus more actual diversity.
That’s not necessarily true. Being non-meta and not being played are two different things. I’m constantly experimenting with new ideas. Some work, others don’t, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t being played. Just played less than the meta builds.
Two full rounds of Silverwastes with full maps and not a single person got one. Talk about a grind a la korean style.
You are assuming that every single player in the map would post about getting one in the map chat if they did. I don’t think even half the people would do that actually.
I was already waiting for a regular poster to point the obvious out. The next step is probably that someone points out that my ‘bad luck’ is no indication for the borked droprate system and I should just be happy the content is free. After which someone else will state how they got it on their first kill and the cycle will be complete.
Yay.
An acquaintance of mine got on, in two weeks got an abyssal dye and a precursor, decided he was bored, and stopped playing.
Meanwhile, I’ve been playing since beta and have never touched a precursor. So… yeah, luck happens. Sucks, but what can you do about it, other than live with it or rage quit?
I’ve never let publicly viewed metas influence my builds. I play what I want, and screw the meta.
And I’ve generally been just fine.
So what I hear some people saying is, this is not destroying diversity, except for the diversity for builds that suck?
I for one like experimentation. And what was meta today wasn’t a year ago, and may not be next year. Experimentation sometimes creates new more exciting builds.
So please don’t go around acting like they are just removing builds that “suck.” You never know if someone finds a combination that ends up being excellent.
Except, of course, that entire set of math is changing.
From what I recall reading Dulfy’s recap of the video, they are CONSIDERING a passive swiftness buff.
Assuming Dulfy quoted correctly: “Signet of Inspiration may grant passive swiftness and one extra boon. We are trying that out right now”
so it might happen, but it doesnt sound like a guarantee.
Honestly, that mind wrack trait needs to be GM at its current state, as it gives 50% damage increase to anyone that isn’t using a skill. So if you take confounding suggestions, you can mirror blade, blink, diversion or mantra, mind wrack and your target will probably have died. If my mind wracks do about 2.5k to the average person without mind wrack trait, with fragility and that trait, they will now do 4.1k (not including extra vuln from dazes and mirror blade), and combined with a 3 bounce mirror blade, that target is going to explode.
Yep, I’m amazed even for a second that people have cried nerf. What we have coming is huge. Massive buff to cc, dps and survivability all in one.
Don’t get too attached to the 25/50 numbers yet. On the stream Friday the devs stated they were literally exploding golems with this trait and the numbers would likely be lowered.
We know it will be higher then 20% so it really wont matter much. It’s the guaranteed 1 second stun that will allow me to explode people, the mind wrack damage is extra
Guaranteed if they dont have stability, dodge it, etc….
So you want the portal that takes you into the Heart of Thorns to drop in locations that are nowhere close or related to the Heart of Thorns?
How do you figure that? HoT is in maguuma. Drytop and Silverwastes are in Maguuma. So… ?
The question was more directed to the person suggesting that the portal drop would probably be better as a game-wide added thing. I mean, in terms of absolutely everything, the decision to do it this way looks to be more of a lore-choice than anything. It’s an object that appears to active players who are closest to the new content. If a “portal” drops in the middle of my Caudecus Manor run, sweet! That’s cool, I guess. It just… doesn’t make as much sense. Why is this portal item in my dungeon run?
Ah sorry, my bad.
So tell me, what do you think about this?

use it, jump, fail, use it again and you’re back where you started
