The in game population is greatly diminished.

Everyone in game sits in fractals.

All other dungeons and entire REGIONS are completely neglected.

There is no LFG tool for other dungeons.

The 3rd party LFG tool is completely ineffective.

Culling is still a major issue in WvW

Developers are in church mouse mode, and letting the “yes men” do their talking for them.

Charge backs are a great way to tell ANet to kitten off without getting an infraction in the forums… but I doubt you’ll ever be able to do business w/ Anet again EVER lol.

Video game difficulty should not be something that goes beyond “reason”.

Guild Wars 2 difficulty is not measured by reaction, timing, position, and team work… it’s based on player base finding ways to exploit or find short cuts around bad design for some “cheese”.

GW2 battle design is BAD in general especially in dungeons. I’m willing to bet nobody at Anet has tested fractals at these levels or there would be “guides”. They just used some loopy algorithm to scale w/ the level and sit back and watch in amazement.

What’s pretty funny is how they tell you, you can run any build your heart desires, so idiots like me would dedicate time and resource to engineer condition dmg build, then you run into a dungeon boss who regenerates health from condition damage.

They really sold this game a certain way and did a complete bait and switch. Pretty foul.

Enjoy the game for what it is and while you can. Guild Wars 2 currently is NOT a game to get married to. It’s not long term at all.

One day you’ll be level 80, after running horribly design dungeons over and over you’ll have some of the exotic gear you always wanted. Then you will realize nobody is playing the dungeons where you can get the rest because the community is all gerbil wheeling at Fractals. You’ll probably do some exploring to get completion and realize how boring that can be. You’ll start another character and mess around w/ it. You will reach the impasse again but much faster.

What will happen next is you will start seeing the words “kitten” show up a lot when you posting messages on the forum, then you will take a break.

Apparently you have to actually be working at ANet to see how great things should be during events. Clearly it’s “us”.

Dungeons are a grind. Period. Those tokens are a mother kittening grind. Dungeons are probably the sucky-est thing about GW2. The mechanics have no reason. I like difficult things. What I don’t like is things being difficult because they were poorly thought out. It’s not purposeful challenge. It’s more like “hey lets do some kittened up kitten and see if they can still make it out”. I want to see the developers run one dungeon, and show everyone how it’s intended to be done.

As someone stated before I have a full set from Twilight Arbor. When I finished, I wasn’t even happy. I was relieved. I felt like Shawnshank Redemption after Andy Dufrense climbed out the sewage.

A full set is what 1000+ tokens? 60-180 tokens a run (given the nature of your party)? Toiling through map chat spamming LFG? Why did they even introduce the token penalty for spamming a dungeon? ~dry heave~

It’s not necessary to group to accomplish hearts and dynamic events in this game. Open world Grouping is a choice as it should be. It’s one of the things ANet definitely got right.

I don’t join unsolicited group invites, I hate them, if I don’t KNOW you have some courtesy and use /say or pst and address me and let me know what you’d like to do or need help with. I hate even more when people spam over and over unsolicited group invites while I’m mid fight.

Assuming that people have time for more than 1 run and aren’t the types who just disband after THEIR mission is done.

Playing less, because before the patch it was getting hard to find groups for the dungeons I wanted to do, due to bugs, glitches, and general stupidity of some of the dungeon mechanics.

Now it’s worse because the focus is Fractals, and that splintered the player base so even though EVERYBODY is doing fractals, it feels like everybody is doing 20 different dungeons at the same time = Even worse than before Lost Shores all around.

The new area, has absolutely no replay value what so ever.

Also because I’m getting a little ticked off with Guild Wars 2, I’m noticing stuff that was really wrong before but I was ignoring out of enthusiasm for the title. Like the lack of variety of enemy mobs. Coming from other lesser quality titles with WAY more that can be frustrating.

Arah being dead is one of the reasons I don’t even play anymore. If I can’t find a Fractals party, I try Arah then I log off.

I always wanted 2 items from there to complete my character “look”.

If they don’t give a kitten about people playing the last available dungeon in the vanilla game at least let us transfer or use our other tokens to buy stuff from other dungeons.

It always ticks me off going to way point Arah and no dungeon even there. When it IS there no groups to be made. No options to get the pieces I desire, no fun.

Ok, I am seriously trying to figure out where some of the people on these forums are coming from. Why would anybody hire a monetizing consultant that makes people leave the game? Wouldn’t the point to a monetizing consultant be to make more money? So why would that person “broad swipe” thousands of the players?

Their job is to find ways to maximize revenue from in game content. A good amount of these people use spread sheets and algorithms and are completely inept when it comes player psychology, risk vs reward, and positive/negative reinforcement.

Why they get hired is because they are good at what they do and because the general public is dumber than it has ever been. They’re in the business of big fast money, not “community” and player base.

I thought Precursors were a big deal by paying mind to people like the OP until I saw what was need to actually turn the Precursor into a Legendary.

Video games indeed have to make money, but you can’t forgo game philosophy if you plan on making long term money or having repeat customers.

Pulling bait and switch is good for scam artists, not businesses who wish to have brand recognition and respect of customer.

I honestly blame the general public for being so forgiving and forgetful. Corporations feel the public is dumb, and we prove them right everyday. If we actually hold them responsible instead of just having a reaction that will promote change.

The problem I see w/ GW2 and other MMOs in general is the lack of ability to give people w/ the same goals the ability to effectively find each other.

What I’m seeing with GW2 is instead of addressing that issue, they have done something to make it worse AND created something that was a contradiction to itself. They created a new dungeon where the majority would naturally gravitate (new content) and splintered that.

The “get a Guild” Answer is a “perfect world” one. Quite frankly it’s not a perfect world out there. I have a pretty vast friends list of nice people who are doing something else. I feel that Guilds are a more impersonal friends list. I don’t feel Guilds are the answer to the underlying point I’m making that;

-Explorable Dungeon runs were already diminishing before Lost Shores
-Fractals all but killed them.
-Fractals are self destructive because it’s splintering the player base amongst an infinite amount of “levels”.

How does ANet correct that? Does it need correcting?

Are players like myself playing less and less, and possibly no more good for the overall community?

Im a 43 year old IT professional who has played MMO’s since the late nineties. I’ve been enjoying GW2 since early start. I have 3 level 80,s spent in excess of $500 in the cash shop.

Tonight I will uninstall GW2 and instal Planetside2 in anticipation of its launch tomorrow.

This weekend event made me realize that ANET created an AAA title that they will turn into a small A rated game that once again, can barely be called an mmo, will have a small but dedicated following and will linger that way for years to come.

tera is overly “pretty” but not technically that good looking. it over uses bloom/hdr to such extremes that it’s hard on the eyes.

Not only did it crash on boss, on next try one of party randomly crashed then dc’ed next thing you know we’re all in Lions Arch like “kitten your life”. I’m over it.

Beginning to ween myself off of Guild Wars 2. It’s been (un)real.

Quite honestly the Event was a complete utter failure and exposure of Guild Wars 2 short comings.

People have been complaining about player rendering and lag issues from DAY 1. People with nice rigs.

Why would they make an event with that many mobs knowing they can’t even kittening render the amount of people that are there? Why is the purpose of the dodge mechanic in these situations. GW2 EXPOSED.

So many people got dc’ed and screwed it’s not even funny. Lucky for me I didn’t.

The goodies at the end were nice, but I mean honestly 2 1/2 hrs of invisible champion crab zerg? What a joke.

Speaking of which, why does the FPS dip so bad when I’m in Lions Arch and I turn the camera? I’m running i5 2550k, GTX 570 OC, 8 gig ram

Its rings and a back slot. ITS NOT GAME BREAKING. Hell its easy enough to kill people in masterwork gear at 80. Your level build and skill mean more than your gear. Especially the small boost from 3 pieces. They have stated they will open up other ways to get it when they introduce more gear. I wouldn’t worry. Yet.

If this is only for WvW I mean… WvW is not balanced anyway. Its not meant to be. You want a level playing field play SPvP

It’s kinda funny you say this, because when I upgraded my trinkets up to exotics (I upgrade 2 rings & 2 earrings) I felt like I was doing more damage to people in WvW. Must have all been in my mind.

Those extra stats in the Infusion slot probably won’t mean anything either you think?

“Vocal minority” is a term used to insinuate a very small section of people are making a lot of noise thus making them appear bigger than they really are. Its a term used to trivialize whatever stance they are taking whether correct or incorrect.

Forum goers themselves are a minority of an MMOs playerbase, an even smaller number than that bother to post. While it’s certainly possible that the views here could be held by a “majority” of players, it’s equally possible that they are not.

What we do know atm though, is despite all the moaning on these forums, the servers are jam packed, with overflows in many zones, which might suggest that the majority have no issue, or at least not enough to cause them to stop playing the game, with the recent changes.

What’s the purpose of doing a 3-4 day event if you flip people off on days 1 & 2?

I got on at 3pm killed some giant crabs, donated some stuff for some tokens for some junk that’s worthless to me. Looked for “clues” without looking for help in map chat. Get stuck on buggered NPCs. Then I try to do Fractals… that’s buggered too.

Was never formally notified they un buggered the Fractals and returned much later to “LFG FoTM Lvl 2-3 only”. I say “f#ck it I won’t even bother, this is absurd”, and try to progress event story and NPCs are still bugged.

This event so far is totally about Ascended Gear and the dungeon crawl for it. Here I was thinking I put in my grind in for my full TA Set, and full exotic trinkets and would be mobbing with the community through some raids and exploring new territory.

Couple that with having to hear “CITIZENS!” 100000000000 times I’d be lying if I didn’t admit to rage quitting and googling “New MMORPGS 2012”

Doing Fractals w/ PUGs and having to listen to that Asura over and over again will drive you mad. Avoid at all costs unless you have the patience of a saint.
