I really do hope we get a mh pistol, as we had a “toy” versio of it in Tixx.
Skill suggestions:
1.3 shots, third one does something special.
2.Maybe a gap maker, like thief P/D backwards teleport, but with a CD. Well, basically Phase Retreat, but the clone is replaced by a shot (tele backwards and shoot once).
3.Something that creates a clone. But. I think it shouldn’t be a tele/evade, because there is 1 already, and what weapon has more than 1 evade/tele skill? Maybe a shot that blinds and if it hits a clone is created next to you (we are cheating duelists, right :P).

So I use a Jaguar, so would this work:
F2, QZ, Sick ‘Em?
So Sick ’Em shouldn’t go away? I knew about F skills taking it away, so currently I’ve been using F2, Sick ’Em and QZ, but does QZ drop the buff?

I’d say Living Shortbow from Hall of Monuments. I have used since I made my ranger and it will be replaced only by the Dreamer.

They don’t exist, because Mesmers do not have a Phantasm with a Bow.
Mist weapons are based on Mesmer Phantasm weapons.
Foefire weapons are based on Guardian summon weapons.

You have to use the infusion bought with 75 fractal relics.

Hi, here are some builds you can try out:
This is a power crit build, buffing the pet, because you shouldn’t really forget it. You get power, precision and critical damage, which you want. That’s why your armor will be full Berserker’s. You will use SB for max dps, as SB has the fastest attack speed. When you know you can survive melee, switch to Sword and slash away (remember to put auto attack off so you can dodge). I usually get maybe 1k-1,2k direct dmg in front of the foe per arrow (foe a normal undead in Cursed Shore). I currently use this one.

These both builds are made to maximize dps, but not forgetting the pet and you are basically a glasscannon.

This is the same as both of the upper ones, but has more survival. If you still feel like needing more survival, then drop 5 from BM and move it to WS to get protection on dodge.

Signet of the Hunt is basically just filler, use it when moving and you can take anything you like on its place when you go to combat.

Fun in dungeons, WvW and PvP, Mesmer.
Easy and fun and good all around profession, Ranger.
The most beautiful and greatest race which you will pick, Sylvari.

I personally avoid Warriors. Never liked them, never probably will. Just too much of “hack n smash” that requires no brains to play.

Remember this:
Play whatever you want.

I believe amulets will be infusable in the future (26th, maybe). I think Anet wants us to get AR slowly so we can get deeper into Fractals slowly, not rushing.

Here is a good tip, but it works only out of combat:
You need atleast 10 points in Dueling and Blink on your bar. Take any other trait than longer manipulation cast range. Now blink up to 900. Now swap your Dueling trait to longer manipulation cast range, and instantly Blink up to 1200. Now swap to any other trait, and Blink with 900 range will come back.

How about 30/30/5/0/5? I feel that I need the stats from Marks/Skirmishing and more endurance from WildSurvival and 2s quickness from Beastmastery. Or then 20/30/5/0/15. I would take 10% crit dmg over 100power (so not 30/20/…). This would buff the pet quite a bit and give more often quickness.
Main weapon Sb, ofcourse, secondary sword/horn.
Are these “viable” glasscannon specs?

Oh and nobody has said anything about which pet to take. Cats/birds… I believe in Jaguar. With RaO, Sick ’Em and QZ, while the Jaguar is stealthed and critting is amazing.

I’m going to do 2 eventually, but first I’ll finish The Dreamer. After it’s done, I’ll probably buy some high-end exotics and then start to grind for that second legendary, that my alt will get. Maybe Bolt or Sunrise or then one of the coming legendarys.

Well I like it. I would just change the Skirmishing traits to 30% more pet crit dmg and pets crits heal the pet, just because I use Jaguar mostly.

I always identify them, because it’s fun. If I get a dye I have, I use the dye. If I have it, I offer it to the first guildie that wants it. Many people in our guild do it if they get a dye they have.
If it’s rare and I can get over 1g from it, I sell it in the TP.

I’m really interested in trying your builds, but I don’t know which one to pick.
So, which build would you recommend for dungeons (mostly CoE/Fractals).
Currently I run a full Berserker glass cannon shatter build, but it feels like you deal the same dmg as me (2,5k with Mind Wrack per illusion), but you have better defense than me.

I count myself to the few that like Trahearne. He has been with me since the very start of my journey. I actually felt bad when I dumbed him and joined an Order. I was so happy when he came back, although I was sad that Tybalt had left me.

I actually use SB power crit build.

This is actually wrong. SB is good at power build. You are just getting fooled by the condition skills.
1.If you compare SB and LB auto attack, SB will out dmg LB. SB hits faster, and has bleeds as a bonus. LB does bigger hits, but they are not actually big enough.
2.If you use Barrage, then auto attack with LB, then LB will out dmg SB (people tend to say this in defense of LB). True, but what if (and when) your foe runs out of Barrage? Now, SB out damages LB.
3.To get everything out of LB, you need to stand at max range. This will be a problem in PvE and PvP, because you can’t keep the range 100% of time.
4.With SB, you will get Poison, Bleed, Cripple and Daze/Stun to do some bonus dmg on top of your auto attack.

I use a SB power crit build, 30/30/5/0/5. My auto attack crits all the time and deals 1,3k dmg to normal foes and 1,1k in Fractals lvl20-30+. Believe me, it works. I hope you will never say again that SB isn’t good for power builds.

Oh and what is this, Skirmishing isn’t good for GS? It seems to me that you want to use your GS offensively, not defensively, so Skirmishing is one of the only ones you can take. For dmg, you need Power. For even more dmg, you need Precision and Crit dmg.
And if you want your pet to.be of any use, you need atleast 2 traits from Skirmishing, 30% more crit dmg for pet and pets crits heal the pet.

I suggest you make a power crit build and use Shortbow. Shortbow is much better at power crit builds than Longbow.

The pet doesn’t go to your target. It will go to the closest downed/defeated ally. The real failure in this skill is that sometimes the pet won’t ress. It will just stand on your ally, doing nothing.

Well if you want the Short Bow skin, buy The Lover. Beautiful skin (same as the Dwayna Bow) and you can see the golden transparent feathers fall of it.

I believe there is no way of getting either of the Dwayna Bows. It’s exactly like Final Rest. It’s there, but no one has it.

Here she is from Head-start weekend, Halloween and how she looks like today (the newer pic doesn’t have a quiver, which I have):

iSwordsman is the answer. Why?
1.It’s is close to the enemy, but far enough not to get hit.
2.Hits hard and fast.
3.Even if there is AoE when you summon one, it will be able to hit due to evading attacks when leaping.
4.If you want burst, wait until the iSwordsman jumps and hits and then hit F1 before the phantasm leaps away —> 3(4)xMind Wrack burst.

Block is much better than a stun bullet. Why?
1.Not all attacks can be interrupted with a stun (foe is evading while damaging, like Blurred Frenzy).
2.Not all foes can be stunned (defiant, stability).
3.All attacks can be blocked. Simple as that.
4.The block hits hard and summons a clone, which you can shatter.
5.If the foe doesn’t hit, but you used the block, don’t worry: Daze your foe.

I don’t like focus. Why?
1.Phantasm need a long time to cast the spell and it can die, only making ~2k dmg, not the full amount.
2.It can’t move, it thinks it is a ranged phantasm.

What? You seriously can’t be suggesting that the only Gift that requires playing the game not the TP should be changed to sellable? Seriously?

Pro-tip (not sure if this has been nerfed). Use DS and jump off a cliff. It will drain all of your life force, but not your HP.

Easy way to prevent this (well some).
Make Legendarys Account-Bound as soon as it pops from the mystic forge. Like it should have been.

So it seems like I’m soon done, but I’m not. I need like 200g more, and I have only 1g.

Farming CoE every day all paths gets me a bit over 5g+3-7 ectos (tokens to rares). Slowly progressing. Also tomorrow I’ll sell around 70SP which will hopefully give me at least 60g (according to guildies, who have used this tactic).

Let me see some more Sylvari power and what you can do with those plant/flower armor!

From those classes? Mesmer. Best 1v1 class, great WvW utility, extremely fun when played correctly.
What I really recommend? Ranger. Great roamer, fun to play, has some AoE, just stay at the back of the zerg and press SB 1:you win.

I’ve said it many times and I will say it once more:
Make pets rally from killing an enemy. Wouldn’t be OP in 1v1 pvp, since the pet would rally from defeated player, not from downed player. This would also improve pets effectiveness in dungeons. We could still swap our pets just like now. Only add a possibility for the pets to rally when killing an enemy.

EDIT:
I’d like to add, that didn’t Anet mean the pet would be big part of Rangers dmg and pets should always be there helping. Or something like that. I hate it how a champion can make my dmg 1/3 lower with only 1 hit. And pls don’t tell me about controlling the pet. Most times, the pet will run really slowly or run in the opposite direction, and then run to me – through the foes 1 kill hit.

Flos Draconis:8/10, because of Draconis, which sounds too much Dragon. If it has something to do with flowers/plants then 9/10.

Mrgreen Omann:6/10, because Mrgreen fits Sylvari, but Omann sounds weird and the name is not that special.

You have 4 Sigils where to choose from for best dmg, the power stacking sigil, +5 dmg, +5 crit chance or 30% chance to inflict lightning bolt on foe (or 30% chance to inflict flame AoE, which has lower dmg than the lightning one, but it good for AoE).

Hey Fay (remember me? Lol),
After testing this mantra build in dungeons (mostly CoE), I’m still confused about couple of things.
1.When to Shatter? I’m used to playing with a Shatter build, so it comes natural to me to Shatter asap, which may not be good for this build.
2.When to use Mantra of Pain? I mostly use it when doing the “burst” pattern and when I spam Spatial Surge (when I have CD on skills). Also should I charge it in combat, when I’ve used the charges, but have no one to heal?

I have enjoyed this mantra build, as it is so different from what I’ve used to and it’s mostly dmg build, but by spamming the mantras I become a healer.

EDIT:
Third question. What Sigils should I use in dungeons? I mostly do dungeons on my Mesmer, so I don’t think boon removal is so great, as I can just spam Sword 1 to remove boons. Also 15% stun duration isn’t that great in dungs and the vulnerability Sigil isn’t that good, as hitting F3 will put 25 stacks of Vulnerability on the enemy.

CoE is all about learning the mechanics and timing your skills. Learn what abilities you have to save, and what to never use. As a Mesmer, the tactic for surviving is going melee with sword and saving that Blurred Frenzy for the ice hit that usually 1 shots me.
Remember, timing is crucial in CoE.

P.S. CoE is easier now than what it was before the patch.

You have to buy it or craft it or run dungeons (CoF, CoE or Arah) for tokens, which can be exchanged for Berserker gear.

I think Healing Spring has always been like that (don’t know about beta version of this skill).

I got a Dusk from a WvW Bag of Loot that drops in your feet 9 days ago.

I believe they profit from your power and precision, but not your crit dmg.

Another one is with toughness and vitality. Toughness counts but vitality doesn’t. So if you want to boost illusions I suggest knights gear, power, precision and toughness, all of which benefit your illusions.

So I have the Gift of the Dreamer, The Lover and almost Gift of Mastery (1 vista and a bit under 200k karma). So now all I need is Gift of Fortune, which seems to be miles away. I need around 200 of each T6 material and 215 ectos. I have made the 77 Mystic Clovers, which is good.

So now I need some help. Where do I get these couple of hundred of gold from? Currently I (try to) do CoE all paths for the Charged cores and lodestones and possible rares (ectos), but it doesn’t seem to be enough. I’m really bad at playing the TP and I have only a couple hours per day to play, so what can I farm for the most gold?

You might wonder where I got over 500g for Lover and Gift of Dreamer. Well, I got Dusk from a WvW Bag of Loot while farming (zerging) for Badges of Honor :P.

If it helps, I got 2 characters to farm with, a Ranger (she gets the Dreamer) and a Mesmer.

All quivers look the same.

And don’t know how long it would take, but you’ll need 1 campaign (Prophecies, Factions or Nightfall) and the expansion (Eye of the North).

1.I haven’t heard of any plans on making HoM items acquired by other means than GW1.
2.You can get points for HoM now. You need GW1 for HoM.

I love the Dreamer and I’m after it. All I need is Lover and Gift of Fortune, I have money for either one, but not for both. I really want to know how much is the max I should be paying for Lover. At the moment it would cost me 300g to craft Gift of Fortune and 350g for Lover.

Well I suggest that you level your alts Artificer to 400. This will cost less than 10g (from what I’ve heard) and then craft the Gift of Energy on that alt.

The Lover is really a problem. Yesterday it cost 350g with buy order, now it’s 380g.
