Mist weapons come from the Mesmers Phantasms. There is a Phantasm with 2 pistols (iDuelist), but no Phantasm with a rifle. Therefor, no Mist rifle.
Only Mist weapons there are are Harpoongun, Spear, Pistols, Shield, Sword, Greatsword, Axe and a Scepter (Trident and Focus aren’t really Mist weapons). No Mace, Dagger, Hammer, Staff, Longbow, Shortbow, Warhorn, Torch or Rifle.

Well, the upgrade slot is kinda part of the stats, as is the infusion slot on the Censer. So you want to get exotic stats, you will get the upgrade slot.

All I want is my gears skins in xPvP. I hate it how we are supposed to get a whole new set of armor skins. It should be like in GW1, your PvE gear is your PvP gear.
I know there are the stats and stuff, but couldn’t they just disappear, when we enter the Mist. Then everyone would be equal in gear. Or just automatically transmute your PvP skins to PvE skins when you enter the Mist. I know this might be hard to put in the game, but I really like my PvE gear and I would like to look good in xPvP too.

Here she is with the new Flower Backpiece, and I love it:
How did u get that?! It’s so pretty! :O
You get it from doing the new Living Story (Southsun) Achievements. You need to collect 10 Samples from various locations on the island.
This Flower Backpiece is a Rare quality, and the other one that is Exotic looks pretty creepy :P.

If you do not transmute it, it will get Ascended stats automatically in the future, when Ascended weapons are released.
If you do transmute it, the Legendarys status will change to Transmuted instead of Legendary, but the colour will still be purple.
There is currently no answer to will Transmuted Legendarys get the Ascended boost.
If you are going for Eternity, don’t Transmute the Twilight, because the Transmuted version will not go to the Forge, because Transmuting creates a whole new item. This is why you shouldn’t Transmute Precursors either.

On my main, I display Dungeon Master, because she has a Legendary, so I want to show I actually am experienced in the dungeons, so people wouldn’t think “Oh, I bet he just grinded/TP for that Legendary and has no skill”.
On my alt, I used to use Golden, to show that even if this char doesn’t look so good, I have money and my other char must have something cool (:P). Now I’m using Champion Slayer on him, because he has now some expensive gear, so I like to show that I have played some TPvP too. Champion Slayer will eventually become Champion Illusionist (still need quite many wins).

Are you sure you aren’t using the Shout skill “Guard”?
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
I like it.

I’d make either Mesmer or Warrior. Mesmers are fun and they look great in T3… Warrior because the T3 looks really really great. Or Guardian, which ever you prefer.

The last stat on Ghost Eater hide is +3 Magic Find.

I have a Sylvari Ranger, so I was torn between Kudzu and The Dreamer. Kudzu fitted me much better, but I never use Longbow. The Dreamer I loved for its animation (simple rainbow arrows at the time). Since I’m kind of boycotting Longbows (:P), I went with The Dreamer and I was even more excited of making it when the animation got changed.
After I made it, I did a Makeover, and now The Dreamer looks way better than Kudzu on my Ranger.

Thunderclap also has infinity range, instead of the 600 marked in the tooltip.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
Looks cool! I still can’t decide if I should craft that or some other legendary :/

Skills:
Sick ’Em for dmg. Quickening Zephyr for stunbreaker and quickness. Signet of the Hunt for out of combat speed and incombat dmg (usually use it with bird F2). And Jaguar <3 when Stealth—> Sick ’Em—> QZ—> SotH.
In dungeons I swap SotH for Guard (10 sec protection with 12 sec CD) and Compassion Training trait for 20% shout recharge, so Sick ’Em will be ~30sec and Guard 12 sec.If that is the exact sequence of skill, is incorrect, because QZ will cancel Sick’Em. Any other skill that buff the pet, or order something to pet, will cancel Sick’Em. So you need to use that skill at the end of the chain
Actually, this was fixed a few patches ago. Using any F skill will still remove the shout, but using QZ or any other skill like that won’t. Though not sure about other shouts, if they cancel each other :P.

If you target is visible, the clones will run the straightest route to the enemy and shatter at its location. If your target moves, the clones will follow for a certain amount of time/for a certain distance, and if they don’t reach your target, they will just shatter when the time ends/they have moved the certain distance.

Sword is the off-hand I use the most. It has great Phantasm that spikes and deals great dmg and the block can be used defensively and offensively.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
This really is a nice buff, all may not be lost on behalf of condition builds.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
Do I regret making The Ponybow so I can shoot unicorns at my enemies? Nope, I do not regret it.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
I’d love to see Gate of Madness as a Fractal. Maybe one of the hardest missions I ever did :P.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
Trick Shot skill: First arrow is no longer heat-seeking.
What exactly does that mean?
+1. I don’t really understand…
Basically the shortbow auto attack couldn’t miss before (like almost every projectile in the game), this patch now enable to dodge them it seems, and since the travel speed of that weapon is relativly slow, you will probably be able to dodge it with ease at far range.
The enemy don’t need to dodge at all, he just need to shift it position (left / right) and the arrow will miss him. i.e. the enemy must be stationary for you to hit. I keep missing after the patch, guess its retirement time for my thief.
Get used to it. We Rangers have had it always like that. And btw you can hit moving targets.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
My Ranger was born at the Cycle of Dusk.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
I feel really bad we lost this amazing ability. It is (was) always on my bar when in Fractals, and I loved how it was unique from the other ressing utilities as it could ress defeated players too.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
Staff /sword+focus is good, many Mesmers use that setup, although I prefer sword+sword :P. If I remember correctly Bloodtide Coast is a good zone to level at that lvl, then moving to Sparkfly Fen. If you really want to craft another 10 levels, I suggest Artificer. It is the third cheapest Profession, maybe 4g max. Then you could go straight to Sparkfly Fen and continue to Maelstrom. If you have any XP boosters, use them ^^.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
You are lvl 45. Why aren’t you already at the nearest re-traiter and get the trait Clones on dodge?! Happy shattering through your last levels.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
Why not just drop precursors for new players when we activate our Elite skill: Cursor Burst. We burst into butterflies, they get precursors. Clearly a win-win. Oh and you can’t stop the Elite from activating.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
I think it has been tested that if you can proc the effect of Sigil of Air/Fire constantly, the dps will be higher (Air with higher dmg but single target, Fire for AoE dmg but lower than Air).
For Sigil of Night, get a copy of your weapon and transmute an AC skin to it. When the weapon glows, the Sigil will be active. If not, then use your regular weapon.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
Mesmers can take some hits if built like that, but usually Mesmers avoid dmg rather than take it. We got clones that take the hits, F4 for Distortion, Main hand Sword for Distortion, Scepter/Off hand Sword for blocks and 100% incombat vigor so we can dodge alot. Also note that in most builds there is a trait that summons a clone on dodge, so with those builds you have to dodge quite alot—>clones—>damage.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
I believe Sword/X has the highest dps of the Rangers weapons.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
From favourite to worst:
Caledon Forest>Metrica Province/Wayfarer Foothills>Queensdale>Plains of Ashford.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
Either Asura or Sylvari. Because Asuras are amazing and small and cute, Sylvari because they can be made really pretty and they glow.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
I have heard that that bunker trap build is quite common in Spvp (don’t know about Tpvp). I never do s/tpvp with my Ranger, since I’m much better at pvp on my Mesmer :P. But I think I have to try that build out at some point.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
No, it is a balance fix.
Which other class can heal and use utilities while being completely immortal?
Mesmers… and they don’t even have to use an utility skill to do that.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
So there is the build I’m currently using and I’d like to know how viable it is.
Weapons:
In PvE I mostly use Sword/dagger, dungeons Shortbow+sometimes Sword/dagger and in WvW Shortbow. All Zerker except for Shortbow, which is Soldiers (Legendary).
Armor:
Full zerker because I have no problems surviving. Runes of the Ranger for more crit and dmg.
Traits:
Marksmanship for power and Piercing Arrows.
Skirmishing for crit and pet buffs.
Wilderness Survival for more evades.
Beastmastery for pet buffs.
With Compassion Training the crits from Carnivorous Appetite heal more. And cats and birds crit often so they can heal themselves.
In dungeons I swap SotH for Guard (10 sec protection with 12 sec CD) and Compassion Training trait for 20% shout recharge, so Sick ’Em will be ~30sec and Guard 12 sec.
In Fractals/lvl 80 dungeons Shortbow crits for ~1,1k dmg all the time and Sword ~1, 5k dmg. Those are without Might. Cat/bird crits are from 3k to 7k.

Ranger.
I tried to change my Mesmer into my main, but I couldn’t stop playing on the Ranger.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
Class specific legendaries would be awesome.
+1
Or race specific legendaries.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
You should use SB instead of LB, if you want max dmg from range. My glass cannon berserker build hits up to 1,3k dmg per arrow with no might with SB. And I rarely see a non-crit hit. And with 20 in BM my cat can hit 5k with Sick ’Em + basic attacks crits bleed.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
@Glitch When I used the 20/20/0/0/30 build I used that rotation. It really is better to use 2, 3, 1 to get might and vulnerability to pump up the dmg of Mind Wrack. Now I use 10/30/0/0/30 build and I miss those vulnerability stacks lol.
[TLA] Desolation (EU)
Lol I thought the exact same thing! When I decided to buy a makeover and I saw those two faces, I thought they had been added later. Never seen them in char creation or anyone use them.
