Thieves are one of the most imbalanced professions at the moment. It’s not because of their damage (even though initiative allows them to spam their skills A LOT) but because of stealth. The only way to counter it is to spend karma and badges on traps which also cost supply to deploy. To me the only way to balance them is to either nerf their dmg (which is the worse scenario as it will hit their pve) or give every profession a sill to deal with stealth.

Thats not true… thieves are horrible for group play, and a few cc’s can get the stealth lovers down in a few hits. No offense but this is more of a l2p scenario

Play a thief in spvp for a few matches. You will now find next encounters very predictable.

Make sure your build, trait spec and playstyle can counter bursts dmg, condi spams and crowd control.

Once you got this dominated Wvw is a piece of cake.

Seems we had a drunk guildie in that 5 man group recording. Too bad we coudnt get the inicial push to lords room, most of the nsp are already dead and a lot wp’d. Was really fun anyhow, we got abit reckless on positioning and it costed us by getting pulled off of the tower

The stat boost, while controversial, is there to give the buff meaning in the context of the general WvW battle. Providing boosts like %WXP, etc. don’t have impact in fights against other sides, they are just a nice bonus for you. The stat boost and the points for finishing players mean that not only do you want to have the buff, but you don’t want your opponents to have it.

But people dont care for things like this! People care for FUN fights, these must be equal or close to it, those that every move make a difference in the out come not some silly extra stats due to more coverage on another map

What you got to realise is in this game going purely tank, healer or DPS just does not work as effictive as balancing your stats. You got to have some condi cleanse, you need tobe able to dmg and crit well while still be able to take hits.

Sure theres builds for group play or dueling and they are very effictive at what they are built for but of course they’ll have their flaws. Dont expect to roll with a zerg build and be able to defeat a dueler in 1v1, in this case, a thief.

Point is in GW2 there is no holy trinity and I like this because it requires the player to be skillful and make them be creative with their build.

Tittle says it all. New upgrade to towers/keeps/castle.

Even stronger gates. Having this might reduce the mindless tactics of PvDooring gates down and make people use other sieges other than rams while thinking carefully how they are going to take the objective. And of course helping the defenders.

Heck, it would actually give people time to save an objective from golem rushes which happen constantly.

Bump. [AR] is now looking for sub leaders for either PvE or Wvw. There are requirements for this:

- Dedication. Must be active in game, chat and guild events. In other.
- Must schedule and host weekly guild events that are the same category as his sub division in guild (Wvw or PvE/Dungeons).
- Recruit players similiar to your sub division in guild ( Pve lovers or Wvwers)

But most importantly, be friendly and have fun. You will not get judged and we do not want you to feel pressured, we are looking for players that like what they enjoy the most in game and improving that experience with a friendly enviroment.

There is also a good possibility of seeing SBI a lot more in the future if we end up in silver and with IOJ moving up. As far as us getting rolled by higher servers, look at the BP match up last week. SE saw the blobs that BP runs around with and BP is pretty well organized. SE should be more worried about being on IOJ, you wont get good fights against lower tiers due to the numbers you can bring and you will get depended upon heavily to carry IoJ against any of the middle tier servers. Be prepared to face many weeks like this one.

What you dont seem to realise is that you guys got the coverage of a much higher rated server that what your current rank/rantings suggest. To the point of even holding IoJ off during oceanic time, I was there today and you guys easily had twice if not more our size.

From what I’ve seen it looks like a good bunch of sbi know this and want to go up in tiers for a bigger challenge in gold league which i gotta give props for being realistic. The fact is that IoJ wants a better challenge than what they have been getting facing the likes of SF and HoD, but in all honesty, BP, Ebay, YB, CD are all going to be tough fights for you guys. Maybe not quite as tough as the SBI matchup is, but it seems to me not everybody from IoJ is in tune with what they want from WvW. Fighting large numbers day in and day out is how you get better, and it’s up to you guys as a server to set realistic objectives for what you hope to get out of the week and make it a positive experience so you are ready to take on the likes of other mid tier servers.

We did came prepared and excited for this match up on reset night and over the weekend, I know people were giving it their all… but time just passed and SBI’s coverage kept being very consistant and It got pretty demoralizing. I dont blame anyone, giving it your best and seeing how is not enough is pretty frustrating.

So right now, a lot of us are simply looking for some equal numbered fights or maybe slightly outnumbered to have some fun during the week. Not outnumbered 3:1 and up haha

It all depends on the future match ups and how will the outcome of them affect ratings.

I knew IoJ has gotten stronger, but I also knew when we ascend to T5 that was going to be a challenge. I do not understand why ppl thought we could move up farther than that, SBI really can take on way more populated servers on the other hand. Their numbers and zerg organization has been quite impressive.

I do hope they move up and we get to test ourselves with other servers such as kaineng, YB and even BP.

Ugh. Excuse the typos, having a hard time editing and posting on my phone lol.

My guild would love to have you join us, we’re looking for more eles for our WvW team. We’re constantly recruiting Wvwers and we do guild raids at least 2-3 times a week plus doing daily wvw training on a smaller scale.

Although Wvw is not all we do, most of us are doing the transition from PvE to organised WvWers. We’re a PvX guild, doing champ trains and guild dungeon runs daily to help everyone gear up when needed and we also do guild missions on sundays, which we have been succeding every single one of em for 3 weeks in a row now

Theres casual and hardcore players here. We wont make you or look down on you for not bwing online in an x day or if you didn’t do so well on something. We are all looking to have fun and aim to make everyone conformtable knowing we’re all friends here. We have a guild website and we use ur servers teamspeak.

Here’s our first guild video of a guild raid recorded on Hod/IoJ/SF match up. Note our team are mostly PvE players but listening well, and there isnt much of a challenge going on due to the lack of defenders but we sure had fun.

Isle Of janthir would be a great place for you to join before leagues! We’ve been growing week by week with more organized guilds working together but what I see we are missing is more militia commanders

We’re a friendly bunch who like a good competition and we are constantly trying to improve in all aspects, we’re a lower tier server so there is no skill lag or whatsoever around.

We have a good chance of being in league 2. It’s going to be either SBI, BP, or Yaks. None of which is a good thing – none of us should be there, unfortunately one of us has to be.

It’s all going to depend on SBI, BP, and Yaks matchups over the next coiuple weeks. Whoever gets matched up with lower ranked servers is going to lose rating and thus be in league 2. At this point, it looks like we have the best chance.

Still 3 weeks to go rating wise Anywho…. Tell us about BP ;P I know yaks love their golem rushes more then anything lol

From what I’ve read in forums they like PvF. So im guessing karma trains and trying to insta cap stuff and keeping things paper without defense. Which isn’t a good thing.

My guild and server would love to have you, IoJ has been growing more and more recently and we have a ton of guilds around that contribute to the server. Strong oceanic presense, organized zergs using voice comms and much more

I speak for my guild, if you’re interesed we could cover a percentage of the transfer fee by having guildies volunteerly donate gold. We do daily wvw teams and currently practicing multiple strategies and synergizing builds to work together as a team.

We’re also a PvX guild, doing weekly guild missions which are a ton of fun and really rewarding, and daily dungeon running for monies

1. Anything with IoJ: Don’t want to roll down that hard, but our Oceanics would have something to do and it will give their budding forum warriors a good reality check on where they actually stand.

We dont need a reality check, we all know that SoS would roll us with ease. Heck, even facing T5 servers would be quite challenging and we might loose but it would be a lot more challenging and fun than the current matchs up we’ve been getting

But yeah we really could use a match with SEA presence, our guys are getting bored.

Most of you are good sports actually (a little ribbing), though there was some joker talking some smack last week at some point.

You guys have a tough lineup ahead of you to move up. Kaineng will actually be a great test for you guys as you won’t have that large of a night advantage and you can find out if you are ready to claw up through T4.

EhmBay, BP and YB don’t have much nighttime but have massive NA numbers. You’ll have a hard time with any of those.

Looking foward to any of these really! Its more about the fights and improving as an individual, guild and server. Doesn’t matter win or loose

Theres a plenty good bunch of defenders and commanders that love defending our borderland even when its not in danger on Isle Of Janthir and Im sure we could really use you, reaction time via communication is vital to save a tower/keep in danger.
