I’m really disappointed. Why not build a survey on the launcher? Why not discuss things with the fans? I don’t expect to be consulted on most things, but there is no measurable feedback the community can provide to them right now.

LFP FotM lvl4.

I’d been trying to complete a lvl 4 fractal group for over an hour until I finally gave up. Grinding is the least of my worries. Not to mention how hard it’ll be to find groups for dungeons now that the reward armor doesn’t even have max stats. Story mode groups are nearly impossible to create at this point.

Also I disconnected while doing fractals 3 yesterday and couldn’t rejoin my party so I had to do it all over again… Pretty much every run I lose someone due to a disconnect. Hopefully they’ll fix this soon but the same thing happened with the Halloween event instances and they didn’t learn anything from it.

I would have grouped with you but I’m currently at fractals level 0.

So I’ve come to the conclusion that if I don’t freak out and maybe plan things just right, I can get some ascended gear from doing what I enjoy most, WvW, without feeling that I’m caught in some horrible grind.

My main concern is, can I just save up badges and karma or are they going to introduce another currency where I will need to start at ground zero?

You know, having such an anger-attack over gear that is only slightly better than what’s already out makes little sense. The game already has a gear treadmill, now it just also has an endgame.

The most confusing part of all of this complaining has been the idea that if you don’t get to have exactly what you want, you’re going to go onto review sites and try to ruin the game so that no one else has any fun either. You complain about the psychology of selfishness that gear gating represents, but then you choose to break away from the community you purport to defend and try and ruin it for everyone.

I don’t know what’s more difficult to understand – behaving this way over a few optional added features that are a miniscule difference in comparison to what’s already in the game, or making threads about how you’re going to “review bomb” the game and assuming no one’s going to point out to these sites that this is going on.

GW1 wasn’t an MMO, it was listed as a co opRPG with some multiplayer tacked on. The actual game world was instanced, and you only seen other players who where in your group, no one else. Basically the game was hardly massive, and was more a giant dungeon, for your group.

GW2, is an MMO, and MMO players expect progression, casuals don’t want it. But by definition, MMO’s are timesinks, and not designed for casuals.

I’m in the same boat. I was happy with the old system. Now I fell completely behind in a single weekend and will only fall further behind because I am a casual player. It won’t be long until I’m 2-3 tiers behind just like I always was in WoW.

Why would I support this company with my pocket book when I’m considered a 2nd class customer because I can’t devote hundreds of hours to this game?

Argue all you want about the present, but some of us think further ahead than that. I won’t support a game that puts me further and further behind the longer it exists. If I wanted that, I would play WoW.
