Loot Bags very, very hard to see...

Loot Bags and Wooden Chests are both hard to see. There should be a beam of light that signifies that important loot has dropped. Not a chest/bag that blends in with everything around it. Better Yet, AUTOLOOT (I mean real Autoloot. Like, you kill mob, mobs stuff jumps into your inventory.) An easy fix will be having the Bag o Loot / Type-X Chest text permanent visible so it’s visually distinguishable through all the combat/corpses.

[March] Issues with character art, weapons, or armor?

All Classes, All Races, All armors with Particle effects. (Especially noticeable with Mad Kings Costumes).

Particle effect items bug into garbage-texture-squares whenever another effect is placed over them.

Examples:
• Molten Gauntlets become squares when Stealthing. (Though due to stealth you only see the square texture maps, but they are clear/stealth)
• Mad Kings Costume becomes garbage squares when KO’d in costume brawl with added effects, like if a Fire Imp Costume KO’s you with their Fireball, the flaming effect makes your textures turn into unrecognizable squares. (You literally look like a walking computer virus.)

This issue has been persistent regardless of graphics settings/hardware, and does this with an particle effect that has another effect applied.
Possible fix, disable particle effects when under other visual effects. (No particles on gauntlets when stealthed; no particles on Mad King Costume when KO’d and set on fire, etc.)

Won’t happen. Anet’s intentions with this is to make money. They’ve already made countless by players buying it. Whether they bought 1 for their main, or 4 for their top 4 toons. In fact, because people already bought it for multiple toons, they won’t make it accountbound as that will cause players to demand refunds as the product was changed after the purchase. I only got one for my main, as much as it would be nice to be able to move it around, it is a convenience tool and was never meant to replace your normal use of buying/using regular gathering tools.
This also means that the future Unlimited Harvesting Scicle and the Unlimited Axe will also be Soulbound unfortunately. So before more of these threads go up complaining about that, just accept it as fact. Realize the company is here to make money, not cater to your whims. This item is working out exactly as Anet has intended.

[Fix] Ranger Sword - Auto-attack root

Take a step, hit V to dodge if you need to, Or use skill#2 which will override your autoattack. I play ranger quite often and there is seriously nothing wrong with ranger swords.
Also, Thieves benefit from disabling autoattack as well.
Again, you’re in control of your ranger. There is nothing forcing you to continue attacking.

If anything needs to be changed about skill 1, it’s that you shouldn’t do a double-leap if you slay the creature with skill#1-1 and then move on to 1-2 which procs twice with no strike and you can end up falling to your doom if near an edge.

I AGREE COMPLETELY – DYEABLE WEAPONS ARE A MUST

4 sections:
• Base Color – All portion of the weapon not touched on by the other 3 areas. – fully dye-able (dye replaces color completely)
• Hilt/Handle/Stock – fully dye-able (dye replaces color completely)
• Blade/Barrel – tintable (dye changes the hue slightly)
• Accents/Effects – Accents such as filigree decorative elements, or the visual effect that weapons produce – Tintable (Effects) or fully dye-able (Accent work.)

Thief's permanent stealth

Jut change stealth to be perma and then have a debuff where you can not restealth for 45 seconds after coming out of stealth, and have damage knock us out of stealth.

I dont think the issue with MagicFind is in the gear, or the percents…. It’s that they have MagicFind, and Diminishing Returns. So after 45 minutes your MF is worthless anyways.

If they are going to fix MagicFind permanently, the fix should come in the way of Mechanics, and not ways for us to stack more broken magic find. If they fix it’s behavior in coding, then the existing gear system we have in place is more than optimal. Plus, they would never allow more than say, 300%, magicfind anyways, so at some point, there will be a cap. As of right now the cap is permanently set since you cannot add any more MF than BaseStat+Upgrade+Food+Booster+GuildBuffs (i think im missing one but you get the idea).

Forced Grinding VS Optional Grinding
Ascended Gear only helps in Fractals (more or less) so it’s purely optional.
Legendary Weapon is exactly that. Legendary. It’s optional to have one.
Obtaining one, proves you yourself are legendary.
Both are optional, and if you choose to go after them, then do so happily and without complaint. If you don’t want to grind, then you obviously aren’t legendary enough for a legendary.

All of the town clothing has Male and Female designs.
Female Human, and Male human, both wearing the EXACT same peice of gear, will have different looks. Take the khaki shorts for example.
On a Male, they go to the knees. On a female, they are glorified Bootyshorts.

Random People Appearing/Disappearing

You can tell the difference.
A Legit Player, who has a toon parked, will have a few seconds lag while they see a loading screen, you’ll see there character. It’s about 2-3 seconds of them being idle until the Load Screen drops and they can hit F to mine the node.
A hacking player, who is teleporting, will appear, mine, and disappear, all in about 1-2 seconds at max.
If you are having a hard time reporting them because they are gone too fast, right-click them and Add to Friends list. From there you can actively report someone at anytime from your friends list.

Cant block Wayfarer/Traveler/Explorer sets from this “imbuement” because they already give up an additional stat to have the magicfind. So “imbueing” them with more MF would be the only bonus to having those sets now. (Otherwise everyone just rolls with Imbued Zerker Gear.)

Better yet, just leave it as-is.

Exotics give between 0-6 ecto, plus t5/t6 mats. Badges are easy to gather so there cost is practically 0 and are not counted as part of the cost when comparing conversions styles.

Add discovery achievements for crafting

You do realize how impossible it would be to learn/discover Every Single recipe in a given profession, don’t you?

If not, let me remind you.

Over 23000 individual recipes just counting, insignia types, weights, and stat combo, on each item, of each grade, from masterwork up.

Not to mention the other 15000 that mathmatically have to be there due to ratios of stat combo and profession output for the given profession.

The Trademan window already has acheivements for completing the Professions, and a title for doing them all.

Also note: Anet themselves said that they did not want players to have to track down every recipe for the profession either, since they already knew internally that there is over 50,000 different combinations in any one given profession.

Why we can't salvage Invader weapons?

Salvaging for ecto’s is why you’ll never be able to salvage those.
(unless they up the price to 2+g & badges.)
Toss them into the forge to spit out an equal (but sellable/salvageable) counterpart.
Or hang on to them in an invisible bag for when you (undoubtedly, eventually) need to have that same weapon back.
Most Sigils are cheap enough to get and replace anyways. (with the exception of a few)
Sometimes, all you have is the Forge (aka Mystic Toilet) to rely on to un-bind your items. Fractal Exotic Gear is this way. Come out of Fractals AB, but toss them in forge and viola! you have something you can actually work with!

There is already [Reveal]. And theif heals aren’t that strong in the first place, especially the heal that stealths you. And yes, every build has an Aoe, since every weapon has at least 1 skill that has an Area of Effect on every class. We are not invulnerable (like an ele in mist form) we just cant be seen. Get that big Greatsword out and swing. Theifs take more damage while stealth. There really is nothing to nerf here. It’s a core mechanic in theifs.

Eventually, it will be fixed. But Anet is more concerned with pumping out New Content than fixing their broken content at the moment. This will probably be a continuing trend. Unless the bug/issue is exploitable by the player or is otherwise rewarding, then they are not quick to stop it. (Oh but you better beleive they’ll get a 4 hour hotfix out if if you could make some money with this issue.)

One Word: AoE
Theifs give up power and crit% to get that perma-steath build going right.
(I know, I use one.)
Like all classes. It’s not “broken” because it frustrates you.
It frustrates you because you haven’t yet learned to counter it.
Learn to counter it, and you wont hate it so much.
Nerfing it isn’t the answer.
_Edit: Forgot to mention, it also takes skill to play that build. It’s not a “spam-all-skills” or “spam-skill-#2” build. You have to think about which stealth skill you need. How long it’s active for, what you are going to do once you are out. Making sure you let it time out instead of breaking it. (If you break stealth, it forces 4 seconds of visibilty on you.) And which one is coming up next. Meanwhile, you can use only a few of your weapon skills and it has to be timed just right or you get [Revealed].

Magic find gear broken by downed state

@ Lambent – since it’s only the Base MF thats affected, you would lose the 18% (3% per each 6 pieces of trinkets) regardless of the upgrades you have. For example. Exotic Helm with Rune of Traveler = 13% (3% Base + 10% Rune) – once downed, that becomes 10% (you lose the base 3%, but keep the Rune)

Citadel of Flame weapons vendor

Might I mention a few things?

The first thing being that you can totally equip and swap 2 spears, putting differnt sigils on them with swap effects etc while not going to the harpoon skills is sometimes nice.

The naming may be backwards in your mind, but if you actually take a look at the words you will see:

A Harpoon = harpoon – noun – A spearlike weapon with a barbed head used in hunting whales and large fish. (These can be shot from Harpoon Guns.)

A Speargun = spear gun – noun – A device for mechanically shooting a spearlike missile under water, as in spearfishing.

So, in Guild Wars 2 classification of Spear (Handheld/Melee) and Harpoon (Projectile-shooting/range)
Their naming scheme fits spot on, and follows many of the other spears and harpoons in GW2.

MF under boon Food buff Not Working

The Magic Find is correctly being applied when you roll for loot, but the Hero Panel isn’t able to show some conditional bonuses. This is just a display issue.

Magic find gear broken by downed state

I’ve done Extensive testing of this issue.

• Boons (Boosters/Foods/Sigil of Luck) seem to be unaffected.
• Upgrades on armor are also not affected.

But I can confirm. I’ve tested Exotic, Rare, and Masterwork Armor.

Each of the tests with Exotic/Rare/Masterwork gear, all conclusively showed that each armor lost it’s Base 3% Magicfind upon entering a downed state.

It also does not matter if you Rally, Rez by player, or Rez by WP.

The only ways to restore the MagicFind, is to A) Repair the armor, B) Re-equip the armor, or C) Hotswap to townclothes and back (I currently have right-ctrl set to toggle this, allowing me to tap it twice.)

Note: Restoring the MagicFind via the townclothes option or manually re-equiping the items, tends to still produce a not-so-accurate Magicfind Percent, Give or Take about 10%. Still tracking this variable but so far unable to locate it.

Suggestion for a new item to be placed in friendly camps in every zone.
Essentially this is for Bank Access in the zone.
You can even Lore it as new technology developed by the Asura.

Asuran Trading Mechanism or ATM for short, would be precisely that, an ATM.

For a small transaction fee, you can freely withdraw gold from your bank, or deposit gold to the bank. (Would not allow for item deposits or withdrawls.)

Can't equip bigger bags

Sorry I forgot to mention (which is now corrected). When equipping new bags, those bags must come from your StarterBag inventory or an already equipped bag. they cannot be dragged out of the bank and put into the slot.

Magic Find buffs your MF% by the given percents shown on all of your armor+upgrades.

Until you go into a “Downed State”

Then all of your Magic Find Armor/Trinkets have No Effective Magic Find.
This lack of MF persists once you revive. (Whether you go hard-down or Rally).

Your Magic Find only returns once you unequip and re-equip the Armor and Trinket pieces.

This was probably the reason why Magic Find has been so broken for many many months, but only now noticable since the Hero Panel now displays the effective MagicFind your toon has.

Back equipment not appearing on Ranger

Ones that you will not see will display the text : “This piece goes Under armor and can hold an additional slot.” or something to that degree. So you will be told when it is going to be under your armor (not seen).

How to get Hall of Monuments Portal Stone
• All newly created characters will start with one of these in their inventory, as long as the account meets the linkage requirements. (Sometimes doesn’t happen.)
• NPC “Scornheart” at “Hooligan’s Route” in “Lion’s Arch” can create a new one (for free), if for some reason you did not get it originally. When you interact with the NPC, he has a 2nd Vendor Tab (on the leftside) that contains the Portal Stone.

Can't equip bigger bags

You have:
• Starter Backpack
• Bag A (12-slot)
• Bag B (12-slot)

In order to remove Bag A and Bag B from your inventory pane:
Step 1 – Empty BagA and BagB contents into Starter Backpack (or Bank).
Step 2 – Drag BagA and BagB from the left side “Bag Slots” into the contents of Starter Backpack
Step 3 – Equip new bags in empty Bag Slots. These bags must come from your StarterBag inventory or an already equipped bag. they cannot be dragged out of the bank.

That’s pretty much the gist of it. If you still have an issue after this, it’s defintely a bug.

(Main Point: You cannot swap/switch/replace a Bag while it still has contents in it.)
