The mats will absolutely drop in WvW. In addition, generally speaking, we are putting a heavier emphasis on finding long-term solutions to redressing the reward imbalance between PvE and WvW. I can’t claim they will ever be 100% equal all the time, but we would like it to never be the case that you are choosing between playing WvW and getting good rewards. The two should be one in the same.
I can get 3-5g per hour in pve (Clockwork Chaos), OR I can get 3-5g per night (~4hrs) playing wvw. You have a long way to go.
If you want to stay on a server with boring fights that’s dropping faster than AR then have fun.
Just spent an hour taking back drbl fighting off the ioj zerg half the way. Fun fights. It was most likely the company that made the night, if you know what I mean

I was wrong. I guessed you guys would implode, not abandon the server (and half your guildmates). I like this better, since (hopefully) most of the cross server spies, forum warriors, and map chat spammers will be going with you. (Really, take them.)

We have plenty of good guilds left. Unfortunately, I don’t think there are many left with the size and leadership to make up for those that have left. What is remaining are the guilds who just play to have fun. We can be very good, but many times we’re just messing around in TS, not able to move due to laughing too hard from something someone said, encouraging people to play what they want, lvl 20 or 80.
I’d love to see us, RGTG, TRON, TBE, or RegA step up and lead, but I don’t know if we have it in us. We are semi-competitive, but really just want to play to have fun. You’re more likely to see us say “Good fight!” than “OMG WTF Dude, you totally suck to my 1337zor skillz!”. Although, when we’re clicking, we can hold down a bl pretty kitten well with inferior numbers on our side. It just takes 2 or 3 guilds of us in one bl. I don’t know if I’d want to ruin my enjoyment of the game by yelling stay tight, stack up, etc in TS. It’s hard enough for us to assist on target at times :p.
Only time will tell.
When will we get new maps?
When will commanders be fixed (ui/tags/squads)?
Will an option for commander tags only visible to guildmates become available?
When will the sentry circle by se camp be fixed?
When will claiming after taking camps/towers/keeps be fixed? (It doesn’t work half the time.)
When will guilds be a part of GUILD wars? How about guards get the [TAGS]? How about incentives to fight in (defend) something your guild owns?
We have 20x the players, when will wvw get even half the attention of spvp?
When will you devs do something to stop the mass exodus from wvw that is happening?
When will you start listening to your customers?

Great fight in IOJ at NE camp a few minutes ago, I thought the fight was never going to end. Hopefully the rest of the week is just as fun. GL to both servers.

Believe me, WvW is important to us as a company and we will continue to improve on it.
Please, put your money where your mouth is. We’re just not seeing it, and every reset night we have fewer and fewer people to run with and against.
Thanks for keeping the thread alive all; hopefully it helps for them to see how many are frustrated with the current state of wvw and the lack of meaningful (ie not the treb/flame ram mastery that were, tbh, coded in and not activated months ago along with the other masteries) fixes, changes, and/or updates.
Props to [SNKY] for sticking around to fight the past few days and not heading straight for the nearest guards when engaged. Fun fights.
Had a blast the past 2 nights, hopefully tomorrow proves more of the same!
Or how about for claimed camps/towers/keeps, etc, the guards show the guild tag of the guild that claimed it? Bonus points for defending an objective that your guild has claimed?
How about fixing the claiming bug? That’s only been around since release day.
Because you work for ArenaNet and know the size of their teams… It’s all speculation.
WvW is a massive undertaking to keep balanced. EVERY proposed solution, that posters here just think “oh this is easy to put in”, aren’t very balanced and would screw up WvW worse than it is. Most people don’t think about the thousands of people that play WvW on a daily basis, they only think of how their problem can be fixed on a short-term basis.
WvW is by far the hardest thing to update. New map? Better be perfectly balanced for each server. New orb mechanic? Better be perfectly balanced for T8 and T1 alike, EU and NA.
If ANet just threw out WvW updates without properly balancing them.. No one would play anymore.
We’re coming up on the 1 year anniversary of release, and the only significant change to wvw has been the new ranks and abilities, which were obviously thought out all at once and are now being released every month or so to try and make us happy. In that time, how many pve updates have their been? Living stories? New spvp maps? Balances to spvp abilities (ret, confusion)that spilled over to wvw?
It IS speculation, but it’s not hard to see that wvw is the red-headed stepchild of the company (and the devs). PvE has more people, I see that and understand it. But spvp has to have less than 1/10th of the population, but because someone at corporate thinks they can make money off e-sport it is their priority. Sadly, as an increasing number of wvw’ers leave out of boredom, the development teams will lose people steadily until it’s too late to do anything about it… and they still won’t make money on spvp as an esport.
How about starting with the Commander fixes that everyone’s been screaming about for 9 months? Fix /squad?
Enemies porting in to a keep under attack when the repel enemy invaders timer is up?
Make outmanned actually useful. PvE bonuses are not useful in WvW. How about upgraded guards, faster upgrades on camps/towers/keeps, ability to carry more supply when outmanned?
Get rid of the transfer fee for the 3 lowest servers to promote more parity in WvW numbers?
Either make PvP and WvW completely separate entities for abilities sake, or stop changing abilities for pvp when more people use them in wvw.
Instead of trap mastery, how about give us something someone gives a crap about. Supply mastery? Really?
It’s completely obvious that for some reason you guys are focused on sPvP, but it doesn’t make sense since wvw is where the people are. If you continue to make sPvp the focus, you will continue to lose players in wvw. How long would that new map really take if you had the people working on wvw that are currently working on your esport promotions?
PvE patches every 2 weeks, some with pvp content.
Constant PvP changes, new maps, new lobby, constant ability/class balancing for pvp, tournaments, etc.
Meanwhile, a year later tower and keep takes are finally group events, and we get a new “mastery” ability every 2-3 patches from a list that someone designed 6 months ago. Wvw population constantly dwarfs pvp population yet we get crap. Where’s the love?

Yep, last place. To a server 1.3 tiers above us and a server with Oceanic coverage that completely owns us. And yet we are gaining rating, almost as much as you are losing. So, against 2 servers you should be dominating, you are losing rating points. And both of us are gaining. I agree, we are in last place. We suck. We just don’t suck nearly as much as you do.
Your best bet for crafting is to hit B, go to a borderland, any one. Once there, you will see 4 portals around you… one by itself and then 3 clustered. Walk through the one by itself, this brings you to Lions Arch; this is like the Capital City of the game. Go North past the bank and/or Trading post and you will be in the crafting areas. Pick whichever you want (leatherworker and weaponsmith would probably help the most), and start going.

The goal for them is to get more wvw’ers to pve, not the opposite. I would think with the attention Anet has given WvW (Catapult Mastery? Wow, thanks.) this would be obvious.
That mid afternoon push NSP has been doing the past 2 days is a kitten killer. People screaming in LA, “Garri and Hills taken in less than 5 min, everyone to WvW”! Nice job NSP (&HoD just grabbed 2nd I see!), way to pull out the win. Great fights this week. Off to work, enjoy reset everyone.

LOL. I was the one that called the rush at the tower… yelling “holy kitten 27 golems” in Ts, and no responses except, “huh?” “what?” and, “you’re not serious, are you?”. After watching the golems continue to stream at us, I replied"nope, I lied, it’s more like 50". As I keep saying, we had a blast. First time zerging in a while, but well worth it!
By reducing loot for zerging, you are attempting to push people away from it to get equal rewards. All playstyles ARE CURRENTLY VALID. Solo, duo, 5-man, 10-man, zergs, whatever. It just may not be on your server. Come to a lower pop server, we have a bit of everything.
Supply and demand… enjoy your economy lesson. Once all the golems people have in reserve are sold, prices will go back up.
NSP used over 50 golems to attack a tower and Bay… they singlehandedly caused the price of golems to go up for a bit. It was a blast to counter, and we fully expect it to happen again.
Quit trying to push your playstyle on other people.
We broke the first rule of golem rushing. It was supposed to be a surprise but we posed outside spawn for a screenshot and let DR prepare.
Actually, was a big surprise! I just happened to run up to wiggle the siege when i saw your golem train. 30 seconds later, and we would have been jumped out the back and no idea you were there.

You can no longer see the outmanned buff on enemies.
Would be better to just combine the EU and NA servers for ratings and matchups. Would definitely add another layer of volatility…
More pve’ers to wvw would just mean more zerglings. There’s nothing wrong with running in a zerg if that’s your style, but we just do not need more of them.
DR server here, and I have been noticing the same. It’s not just WvW though, it seems to be all aspects of the game.
Is this WvW, or sPvP, or both?
Lag has been horrible for the past 2-3 days, and this is on a T7-8 server. Kicked twice in 1 hour of playing today, not to mention all the lag spikes that nearly got me killed while fighting. Others are complaining of the same thing in WvW, Racing game, doing jumping puzzles for achievements, etc. Tonight is reset night for WvW, would be nice to play without the lag spikes.
Isn’t it about time you guys recognized the issue and did something about it?

Great fights tonight in ET at SW Tower/Camp from both SF and ET. You guys just kept it coming; sometimes both of you at the same time. Kept us on our toes.
Necro is great for tagging. Thief SB #2 (ae poison) with auto attack (up to to 3 targets?) in between can mark alot of enemies. Maybe even more than necros minus Epidemic on a good anchor in a zerg.

Seriously, Anet has stated before that they want the blue doritos to be familiar names, not shared on an account with 4-12? toons. If you are a good commander, people will follow regardless of if you have a tag up or not.

Killing people is the incentive. Badges/loot/coin/wvw points is just a bonus. If the loot is your incentive, roll a class that has ae.
For some reason, after taking a camp or tower, ~50% of the time if someone takes supply before you can get to the guild claimer and claim, it locks out the ability for ANY GUILD AT ALL to claim for at least 5 minutes. It has been this way since launch and does not seem to be on Anet’s radar. Why taking supply would have anything to do with claiming an objective is beyond me, but I guess weirder things have happened.
You could always transmute the lvl 1 armor onto your lvl 80 stuff. Do you mean a naked color, or to look naked? You could also just take off all your armor…
You have to hit a mob or player to get credit for the kill, but in order to get credit, the player must be dead and not just downed. Once the player is dead, badges and such are awarded, if any. 1 hp of damage is needed to get credit for a kill.

I am far from the biggest fan of DDLG, but I will tell you that they are a good group of guys who seem to do things pretty above board. This is the first time I have seen them accused of it, and it would thoroughly surprise me if they cheated with the knowledge of their leadership. Anything is possible, but I think you’re barking up the wrong tree here. Just FYI.
