Have you checked which track you currently have selected as a lot of the WvW reward tracks are the same as PvP ones?
Queues are even bigger today.
My main concern is that queues could put people off coming back to WvW and linking servers would only make any such queues worse.
For the past few months a small queue on EB during “prime time”, a few people on home border and one or two roamers on the enemy borders unless someone turns the home border group into a borderhop one.
Today: Small queue on EB all day, hit “prime time” and that EB queue shoots up plus queues on two borders – more than 3 times the number of players that we normally get…..
I don’t know the status of other servers but I have noticed that the number of players in WvW today on my server is a lot higher than normal.
If this is the case for other servers it may be worth holding off on world linking to see if this is a short term effect.
Just boycott the kittenty things until they bring back the alpine. No amount of tweaking is going to fix those disasters.
There was nothing wrong with them until this update and I’d rather play borders normally – they are more fun than EB and you don’t spend time sitting in a queue.
I thought the changes to existing maps were meant to make them easier to navigate?
The changes make them more difficult to navigate and have added a number of “blind” drops that are too far to fall and survive.
The changes around fire keep and ramps were completely unnecessary and make play far more difficult.
Absolutely nothing wrong with multiple guilds – it is one of the aspects of the game that I like.
If you don’t want to be in multiple guilds then feel free to be in just one guild – no-one is forcing you to join multiple guilds.
Free server transfer window also heavily damaged WvW – a number of large guilds on many servers moved – however some players in these guilds decided not to move creating guild splits and a lot of players regretted the servers moves but couldn’t afford the gem cost to move back after the free period ended.
This disillusioned a portion of the player base, damaged guilds and caused dramatic population swings on some servers which in turn amplified server population imbalance.
I also know of a number of WvW players who are still playing WvW who first went to WvW for map completion so I agree that this had a major impact of recruiting players to WvW.

Either that or make it so easy missions have no minimum, medium 2 minimum and hard 3 minimum.
They should also un-instance the PvE missions while they are at it (for the PvE opportunity slot).
At this point players would rather sit in a queue for EBG then play on a BL. I think the players have spoken on this one. Anet should be listening. It used to be guilds would go to alpine maps and the others would go to EBG. Players have been playing WvW without incentives, adding incentives might not make game experience better.
The main issue is getting people to actually try the borders. Most of the people who have given them a proper try are “OK” with them but the problem is the people who “Someone told a friend of mine that the new borders are crap so I’m not even going to consider looking for myself”.
This causes a strange issue where servers in the EU (don’t know about US) which have lesser numbers but are willing to run on borders are sometimes performing better in matchups than you would expect.
Most of the EB oriented groups seem to “lootbag” focussed so maybe if the odds of getting lootbags rather than spikes on borderlands was increased then maybe it would encourage people to at least give them a try.
Alternatively making the oasis a flatter area and removing some of the ambient creatures could make it a more open fight friendly area.

5)+5? I have +3 on one toon, which means I should get 18 supply from a buffed camp or tower. Sometimes when picking up supply I get 23…. Is this a bug or something else?
I was talking about Guild Buffs (not Character WvW masteries) – under the old system a guild could “build” a +5 supply capacity buff which when activated allowed anyone who collected supply from a location claimed by that guild to pick up an extra 5 supply.
This has been replaced by guild aura 8 which does the same thing but has a ton of pre-requisites that the guild has to upgrade first including a minimum guild level of 37.
I’ve been chatting to people on my server and to people in places like Lion’s Arch and have reached the following conclusions:
1) A fair proportion of players started playing WvW when doing map completion, found they liked it and continued to play WvW even after getting map completion. Removing WvW from map completion has deprived WvW of a major recruitment tool.
2) Although replacing Servers with Alliances will solve Map population issues in the short term, it will also loose WvW players and discourage new players in the long term which means the “Cons” far outweigh the “Pros” on this idea.
3) Past easy server hopping by guilds has shed a lot of players from WvW. Every time a guild hops servers there will be a few that stay behind and some of these will stop playing and after hopping some that did hop will also stop playing WvW within a month or two unless they have the gems to hop back to their previous server.
4) A fair amount of people are now “OK” with the new borderlands, however there are people who still won’t even try them. There needs to be an incentive to get these people to at least try them. However everyone generally agrees that it would be nice to have the alpine ones back on occasion.
It should be remembered that there were similar reactions to previous borderland changes such as the removal of the orbs of power and the replacement of the krait & quagans with the ruins.
5) Most people believe that re-acquiring the +5 supply claim for their guilds was far too difficult.
There were others – but this seemed highly prominent in the discussions.
Sandpaper certainly needs looking at.
A glass mug requires 9 coarse sand.
A sheet of sandpaper requires 10 coarse sand – based upon how much sand you need for a glass mug either you are wasting 90% of the sand when you make the sandpaper or the sheet of sandpaper is 100’ square…..
I’m sure I read a while back that some of these were going to be reviewed and amended.

I’ve been the only active member in a small guild for some time. Just before HoT came out I managed to persuade the guild leader via FB message to log in and give me leadership rank.
A few weeks after HoT was released I found 3 people to give me a hand to capture a LP Guild Hall.
Since then I have solo upgraded the guild to level 38 (so far), and still have roughly the same amount of gold as I had after paying the initial 100.
It can be done.

Locations used to auto upgrade in about 10 minutes, under the new system 20 dolyaks have to arrive for it to upgrade.
20 dolyaks take 28+ minutes with general speed buffs so the 30 minute limit was cutting it fine – any spawning issues or killed dollies would fail the mission.
Extending the time allowed makes it easier to actually complete the mission, and although it is a fix for the problem of failed missions it isn’t really a good fix for the issue.
The best fix would be to remove the hold until upgrades requirement and replace it with a hold for 10 or 15 minutes requirement.
Any chance on getting a fix on this before missions reset please?
With the change to the way camp upgrades now work this can no longer be considered an “easy” guild mission.
Requiring 20 dollies to reach their destinations in the 30 min time limit is next to impossible – if the dollies fail to spawn immediately or you loose more than two then you cannot to it – and that is with both the camp & destinations being with the movement buff aura and using periodic swiftness buffs on the dollies.
There are two possible fixes for this:
1) Reduce the number of dollies required for the 1st camp upgrade
OR
2) Change the “hold until upgrades” to “hold for X mins” (I would recommend X be 10 mins)
This is a major blow for smaller guilds…..
So far today I have been on the winning side in 3 dragon ball games but it has only registered 1 – this is getting frustrating as I have played many more games than this and been the highest scorer in all but one – but I have lost the rest despite this.
Having to play 30 games to win 12 of those so that 5 register victory for the daily is a bit annoying.
Saying that – you have play in 2 games as a daily and win 5 as a daily – shouldn’t that be the other way around as you cannot win 5 without playing in 2?
Why when joining do you often join a game already in progress joining a side which is 200 points behind – can’t you make new joiners get a fresh map? It is pointless making people join a game in progress which is already lost unless you are willing to reward them for it.
There are additional bugs with this game as well such as:
>Being bounced back to DV without the game starting
>Getting a “World Full” error on attempting to join
>Getting a “World Full” error at the end of a game which leaves you in an active map with the game over.

I know that there are a couple of Aussies playing on Desolation(EU) server.
I’m solo upgrading a guild. The guild is now level 21 (may hit 22 today) and the Scribing level of my scribe is currently 61.
I am solo upgrading my guild as well as contributing to the upgrades on two others and my own guild is up to level 17 so far…..
The watchwork pick was a massive mistake. Its functionality should honestly be rolled out to all L80 picks avaliable in and out of game, or a decent amount of sprocket nodes should be added to the world to make its ability a strictly QoL advantage rather than a literal pay-to-win one. It is a gem store only item that is superior in function
If you could only obtain gems from spending real world cash then I would agree with you – However you can obtain gems by converting in-game currency which is exactly how I obtained my watchwork pick during a gem store sale.
In other words I played not paid to obtain mine – unless you are going to suggest that obtaining items via gameplay is wrong?
I don’t agree with the blatant sylvari favoritism. I shouldn’t be forced to level yet another character to 80 and buy another character slot just for a character I’ll only care about just for sylvari only achievements. Those achievements need to be deleted because not everyone has a sylvari and I shouldn’t need to make a sylvari just for an ascended trinket.
Or just party up with a Sylvari for that instance.
I’m sure that when they originally announced the Pact Mastery Auto-loot they said that it would work in WvW?
It looks like they sorted out the borderland ones – when I checked it earlier in the week it only had emblem redesign and larger guild licence options.
Still no guild bank access I can find in EB or with keep upgrades.
What happened to guild bankers in WvW? I don’t seem to be able to find them any more.
Most WvW guilds that I know about store communal supplies of siege & food etc in the guild bank.
It seems silly that you have to go to PvE to access it.
If you put the proof of heroics into your bank than any character can spend them regardless of which one they are bound to as when you speak to the vendor it will display the total of what you are currently carrying and what is in the bank.
When towers & keeps upgrade in WvW you get merchants spawn – however the “outfitter” merchants which normally sell harvesting tools now sell blueprints in addition to the merchant who normally sells blueprints which means you have two blueprint merchants and no “normal” merchants.
And here I thought the Casuals were only 1 %

I spent most of my time since Friday doing Halloween stuff, I have also done a bit of WvW, a bit of PvE on the old maps, a bit of PvP and maybe half a day on the new content where I have only done parts of the first two maps.
I will be looking at doing more of the new content when the Halloween is over (Why did they release the new content at the same time as the Halloween event?)
I had fully unlocked (as in trained all 400 points required) Druid on my ranger. 400 points was perhaps a little tough but not entirely unreasonable and it felt like I had made an effort to achieve something.
I would point out that these were meant to be ELITE SPECIALIZATIONS.
I did the easy level open-world pve guild mission solo this week. The one where you track down and kill one person. So there is still some stuff you can do.
Good to know – The easy level mission for my guild, two friends guilds and the WvW guild I’m in all required a min 3 members participating.
The new guild system hinders small guilds rather then helps them. Each upgrade has a minimum price of 300G to make.
The missions aren’t the issue, they required the same amount of people before HoT. But now the upgrades are impossible unless every guild memeber showers the storage with 100G each.
Actually Missions don’t require the same number of people – We used to solo/duo guild missions a lot before HoT. Now we need a minimum of 3 people.
When they announced 400 hero points for the elite specs I thought “Ah, a challenge”, especially as I have a character of every class.
Now that challenge has been stolen by whiners – the very same whiners that will be complaining that they have nothing left to do in a week’s time…..
You would have thought Anet would have learned by now – a bunch of vocal whiners complain about something new being too hard so Anet make it easier and then those very same whiners complain they have nothing left to do because it was too easy.
It has happened every time Anet have released new content and will carry on happening until Anet say “Hey you keep saying you wanted challenges”.
250 is too low. I have 9 characters (including the revenant I created with the HoT launch).
At 250 I can have all but the rev fully done within a day which is far too easy.
Just checked the airship at fort trinity – no merchant. Do they move around?
Any chance of having a “sticky” list posted summarising the bugs reported so far?
Perhaps they could be grouped by “Completed”, “Being Worked On” “Pending” and “Not a Bug/Issue – Player Misunderstanding”.
It could be updated whenever someone picks up the latest bugs from the “Issue reports” thread?
This would help people report new bugs/issues better and know what is happening with the bugs they have reported.
My guild has 7 members, but only 2 regularly active with the HoT expansion.
Some of the old guild missions could be soloed/duoed. The new ones require a minimum of 3 people repping the guild.
This expansion is not friendly to small casual guilds.
As far as I can tell – the veteran creature and master of ruins dalies cannot be done.
I did get land claimer the other day for flipping a shrine.

Daily Veteran Creature Slayer – I cannot find a single veteran creature on the new borderlands which will complete this daily.

When I look at the roster for my WvW guild I see that everyone is either in one of the new HoT PvE maps or the Mad Kings Labyrinthe.
It’s going to be 2-4 weeks before you can make any kind of assessment.
You will probably also find that most people will stay on EB unless there is a tag on the border to guide them around because they are too lazy to look around by themselves.
Some of the pouches just say scribe, but some list both scribe and artificer. I don’t know what artificer “recipes” they may be used for, but not being able to transfer them from the character inventory to the bank is a pain.
I spent 2.5 hours last night killing every “veteran” I could find on the borderlands after the dallies reset and not one of them gave me completion on the daily.
These are crafting materials – can we please have them added to the materials section of the bank so that they can be deposited?
