Sounds like L2P issue. Badlanders winning laika boss.
You obviously did not understand the earlier posts in this thread so I will explain:
SFR have more WvW and EotM players than any other server.
As a result of this whichever colour SFR is during the matchup will most likely win (occasionally they get outplayed by a smaller force, but mostly numbers win)
SFR are usually green which is why the OP referred to OG winning all the time, however this week SFR are red which is why badlands are winning most of the matchups this week.
No matter how good a group is in EotM, it is usually won by outnumbering the enemy.
When you have the “Outnumbered” buff you are unlikely to win fights against the entire enemy force.
I notice that you describe yourself as an SFR EotM hero – I would suggest that there is nothing heroic about constantly blobbing the enemy.
It is not a “L2P” issue, it is merely logistics.
…..but even multiple times in single dungeon for example.
I guess you didn’t read the “Not Dungeons” bit in the OP.
Are there any multi-purpose Engineer builds out there?
I do PvE (and by PvE I mean open world and not dungeons) and the odd bit of WvW.
Any ideas on how to do this with just a single set of armour?
As it stands, this game has nothing to do with guilds fighting each other unless we set it up ourselves.
Please learn the lore of the game. The title of the game comes from the lore of the game: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/The_Guild_Wars
It has nothing whatsoever to do with player guilds fighting each other so there is no reason why the game would have a guild vs. guild mechanic or mode.
If they do introduce such a mechanic or mode it is unlikely to be in PvE areas as doing so would be detrimental to the game – as has been proven in the past where other games have introduced PvP modes into existing PvE areas which had no prior PvP modes.
I don’t think they will be deactivated, but a guildy also linked a new type of one that was labelled that works only on toons that not level 80. Will have to see how the distinction will work, but makes me believe that the old ones might play a role in the new masteries.
I think you may actually be referring to an old type of tome:
You get 5 Tomes of Mentorship for completing the Victory or Death living story quest.
I’ve had enough for the day.
Having to watch my character with arms outstretched thrust her breasts at trees and ore nodes to harvest them and at enemies to fight them in melee is just too irritating for me.
Maybe if I was a teenage letch or pervert I might enjoy it, but I’m not so I will succumb to the advise that many of the trolls are giving and alt-F4 the game for the rest of the day.
April Fools Jokes/Pranks are meant to end at midday.
The times in Europe currently range from 12:30 in the Azores to 3:30 in European Russia – as all of these are past midday it’s time to turn off the Airplane stuff on the EU servers.
Handful of people kittening in the forums doesn’t make a lot of discontent.
Handful? If your hands are that large then you should apply to be in the guinness world records……
But seriously it’s more than a “handful” and Anet have made major changes to the game in the past based on far less forum comment.
I’m so sorry that you were born without a sense of humor. It must be tough.
Actually, your comment is the funniest thing since I woke up this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep.
You seriously shouldn’t troll people you know nothing about – you only make yourself look stupid. And my point was proven.
The fact is that you decided to troll me without knowing a single thing about me.
When I was 10ish my friends and I used to run around outside pretending to be WWII aircraft – usually because a film of that type had been on TV earlier that day, but that was quite some years ago.
These days due to some difficulty with an injury to my left hip I can barely walk, let alone run.
I play GW2 to have fun and enjoy myself and for a bit of escapism, not to be reminded of my physical infirmity.
No doubt as a proven troll you find this amusing – but that brings into question your sense of humour, not mine.
But the sheer volume of comments in map chat show that most people are finding “airplane mode” fun for a few minutes and then after the novelty has worn off and realising that they can’t turn it off are getting pretty annoyed by it which I think more proves my point.

Whoever thought this plane thing was a good idea does not understand April Fools at all.
It’s meant to be an “April Fools Joke”, not an “April Fools Let’s be Really Annoying to Everyone”.
From the comments I’m hearing in map chat, even those amused by it – the amusement isn’t lasting more that 30 seconds.
Perhaps it is a difference between the American and European humour, but this isn’t funny, it’s just really annoying.
People shouldn’t have to mess about with video and audio settings to make the game even semi playable and I bet half the players will forget to turn them back on after this annoying event is over.
why would you want this to be reverted Oo? It is not like you are forced to use the new stuffs, in fact, everything is an option with sliders and checkboxes, if you don’t like it just don’t use it.
I might be able to see where you are comming from if you were forced to use the new stuff after the patch, but I certainly don’t understand your point since all of the new options are just that, options.
It’s the fact that the camera changes can now be used as an exploit by AC users in WvW.
It was asked several times at least a week before the camera changes went live if this would affect AC targeting. Those queries either weren’t spotted or ignored.
This should have been addressed before the patch was implemented.
The camera changes should be disabled until they get the fix in – the best fix would be to revert to old camera views whilst using siege equipment.
I’m sure it wouldn’t kill everyone to use the old camera system for a bit longer until Anet can work out a fix for it.
I have to say though that I am disappointed – the patch was delayed for an additional 6 days for further QA testing. 6 days were obviously not enough.
Guild build queue bugged
Pre-update and post update gifts of exploration won’t stack with each other
WvW building portals lag
The OP spelled “Bugged” wrong. It’s spelled “Bugged” not “Best”…..
Seriously – so many bugs: Guild chat, guild build queues, forming parties, hearing emotes map wide, items not stacking properly in inventories, WvW portal lag, skill lag, Ranger pet “avoid combat” not working and these are just the ones that I have personally encountered…..
There were two items building pre-patch They should both have completed about an hour ago.
Both items are still showing in the queue, but one item is showing with a full progress bar but not completed and the other is showing as not even started.
What is happening?
I’ve never been ignored in WvW, when running to a spot, at a spot, in tonic form so I couldn’t fight back or when I sat on the ground and did nothing as they approached. But I guess it’s always possible.
I’ve had them kill me at the southernmost skill point before I could get it and then hang around by the supply camp nearby so their nameplates were with the red NPC name plates and wait for me to come back so they could kill me again.
I think you have been unlucky.
Some people play to challenge themselves and some people play to cause others grief.
I’ve had it go the other way at the southern borderlands skill point – I was once fighting the spider woman when someone from another server approached. I prepared to break off and run but they also attacked her and when she was dead we went our separate ways.
Most people in WvW will ignore you if they realise that your sole purpose is map completion, however you get anti-social people everywhere.
Ever been in PvE communing with a SP (or various) other things when someone runs past trailing a string of mobs only for them to stop and attack you instead?
In PvE I once saw someone standing in a “safe” spot obviously afk. Someone playing a thief had also spotted this person – they then ran in circles picking up mobs, ran over to the afker and stealthed. The mobs then started attacking the afker. When I ran over and killed the mobs and rezzed the downed person to stop them from dying I got offensive whispers from the person playing the thief.
And you chalk that up to the cost of getting map complete when on your own. Find some like minded map questers and party up. Also remember map chat is really map chat, the other two servers see it as well, use team for server wide.
No, In WvW Map Chat is only seen by people on the same server as you.
It is only emotes that are seen by everyone, and then only if they are close enough.
I’ve managed it 8 times – it isn’t hard if you are intelligent about it.
A number of people wait until they have finished all of the PvE maps before venturing into WvW to complete those and then get upset that they can’t do them all in one day. When I near people raging in map chat about it this usually the case.
I have to admit that the first time I did map completion I didn’t realise that the WvW maps were included until I had completed all of the PvE ones. This lead me into visiting WvW for the first time and thanks to that I am no longer a stranger to WvW.
With that character I merely created an Alt to level while completing the WvW on the first.
Had map completion not been part of WvW then I would never had reason to discover WvW so personally I thank ANet that WvW was part of map completion and I lament for the future of WvW which will loose recruits following this change.
For the other 7 characters I followed a simple method. Occasionally when playing those characters I would check the WvW maps. If something was available that I didn’t have I would pop in and grab it. It wasn’t hard and didn’t take long and I found the best time (although by no means essential) was during the night.
Knowing a dungeon path != knowing the game.
Dungeons is major part of the game knowledge.
No, absolutely untrue.
I am a casual player who has being playing since start (although I did take a break for personal reasons).
I have 11k AP and 8 level 80’s (One of each class) and I do not PvP.
I have done the story path on each dungeon once (except Arah story which I have done 5 times) and I have done two of the other Arah paths.
GW2 is made up of 3 parts – PvE, WvW & PvP. Dungeons are just a portion of PvE and therefore just a minor part of GW2.
I did consider trying some dungeon paths recently but all the LFGs have AP or equipment requirements or want you to pay gold and although I surpass those AP and equipment requirements and have sufficient gold I think that anyone placing such requirements in an LFG isn’t the sort of person I would want to group with.
Find a way to reward server loyalty. That should discourage transfers.
Give people achievement multipliers based upon server loyalty.
you’ve been on a server for 2 months? earn 1 completion for each dolyak escort – been there two years earn 10 for each…..
Makes use of the existing achievement and rewards server loyalty. May even discourage AP/Title hunters from server hopping.
This subject again?
Didn’t see it anywhere
I remember seeing airship in WvW threads about every 6 months or so.
Two solutions I think…..
1) If you don’t have a buff running then a timer starts and you declaim at zero.
OR
2) To claim you must have money in your guild bank and a percentage of all upgrades (25% or 50% maybe) ordered for that site are charged to the guild bank so that the person ordering doesn’t pay it all.
We Americans turn our noses up at your Boxing Day; Black Friday is obviously the superior massive shopping day.
Except of course Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Texas where Boxing Day is I believe a state holiday…..
And unlike black friday it’s origins have nothing to do with shopping – that came several centuries later.
What a load of hooey you have there. Yes it is because the game launched last year in China that we now have a Chinese New Year celebration. It would not really have made sense to have it from the beginning and not have the game available in that region (like celebrating Boxing Day and not being available in Canada: odd).
Just a FYI: Boxing Day is a holiday in the United Kingdom and virtually all other former British colonies except the USA.
The same day is celebrated at St. Stephen’s Day in many other countries.
I like the concept and the fun it create, i also understand it creates camping and unfun “questing” etc.
The fun is only on side of the school bullys that like to grief other players and jump
in their back when they are already nearly dead from fighting against mobs.So NO .. for the 10.000th time.
These games may work in Korea, but not in the west.
And here is an example that makes me wonder if the toxicity ad griefing might be not on the side of the PvPers after all. Calling the OP a school bully for expressing an opinion and asking a question ?
Now that you bring the subject up – when that opinion is wanting to be able to attack other players who aren’t interested in PvP? Wanting to fight other people who don’t want to fight other people seems to fit the description of a bully quite well.
I like the concept and the fun it create, i also understand it creates camping and unfun “questing” etc.
I fail to see any fun being created for anyone except for gankers and griefers.
PvE areas are there for people to PvE without having to worry about gankers and griefers. The moment you introduce open world PvE you lose more players than you gain. This is a fact and is attested to by the demise of games whose developers listened to suggestions such as this.
If you want to fight other players there are already WvW and PvP modes available in the game which cater to this.
Staging behind the scenes? Complete and utter nonsense!
This isn’t a stage play where people have to change costumes and move scenery between acts.
It’s a computer game, and if you are playing that section with a second/third/fourth character there is no need to see it again. You have “skip” buttons in personal story and dungeons, so why not this?
And for the cinematic sequences where NPCs are moving from one place to another across the screen you can flicker the screen and shift them to final positions or at least drop swiftness on them.
This would be nice to know – I can only stand a certain number of dragonball games per day but want to get the achievements.
I missed most of LS1 as I had to stop playing for a while so I haven’t got a clue who these strange people are who follow me around Dry Top and the Silverwastes calling me boss.
It would be nice to play some instances or something to fill in the story.
It should stay character bound. I have it with 6 characters so far and no.7 is up to 80%.
I’ve played 40 games, only managed 13 wins (I’m getting fed up with it putting me into games that are already lost because your side is 200 points behind when you join) and only landed 7 kicks that actually interrupt.
1) Actually picking up the power up is difficult enough – I’ve got the invisibility one more often.
2) Landing a kick without actually be dodged is about 1 in 3.
3) When you land a kick having the luck to time it to interrupt is probably 1 in 4 at best.
I’ve asked in map chat how people are doing with this and it seems I’m about average.
I had thought the snowball mayhem achievement was ridiculous, but that is quick compared to this.
The people who claim to have got this a large number of times should be investing in lottery tickets or are exaggerating their claims.
- for WvW: ensure we can do all of them in EOTM. I’m on a bad server so WvW is not an option for me.
Towers, Keeps, objective defender and daily defender can be done in EOTM.
Ruins, Dolyaks & Camps require you to go to a “proper” WvW map, but none of these require you to be on a “good” WvW server.
Snipe a dolyak or claim a ruin – both quick & easy.
A camp is a little more difficult but can be soloed by most people – takes a little longer which means there is more chance for hostiles to make an appearance.
Of course the thing I don’t understand is why you need 2 camps, but only one ruin or Dolyak.
Bibbed? What has sounding a horn got to do with drinking alcoholic drinks? Don’t you mean Imbibed (As Imbibed is a correct English term for having consumed an alcoholic drink)
Possible titles : Ultimate Imbiber or even Ultimate kitten-Head maybe?
Edit: I have been informed the “Bibbed” is an uncommon US slang term for Imbibed.
So I just logged in to find that one of my dailies is a level 21-30 fractal.
My personal reward level is currently 13 so why am I getting this as a daily?
Surely I shouldn’t be getting anything over 20 until my reward level reaches that, not to mention that apparently you need agony resistance of 25 for fractal 20-29 and at my fractal level I’ve only managed to slot 10 so far.
Is getting this assigned as a daily a bug or just really bad planning by the coders?

Definitely a bug on Green BL on the EU servers. We haven’t had a dolly spawn to go into north hills since the matchup began.
This is THE best suggestion I have seen on these forums for a long while.
Next you will be suggesting that we remove the Mystic Forges as people can stand there for ages doing siege upgrades.
There are valid reasons why people don’t want to leave WvW to craft.
For example, If I have to leave the map to craft then I cannot respond to defence calls that appear in map chat.
If Anet are going to spend development time on WvW then there are 101 things more important than the odd PvEr using WvW crafting stations – which is only an issue when there are queues and how many PvErs are going to sit in a queue twiddling their thumbs waiting to get into WvW to use crafting stations when there are crafting stations in every city, every 1-15 map and also in Ebonhawke , Skrittsburgh and the Hylek place in Sparkfly Fen?
I’ve done 30 games of this so far for the first 3AP. If I want to max out the APs for this it means another 120 games.
Those 30 games took over 5 hours.
By comparison in the same time on the other repeatable activities I have done:
All 20AP of bell ringing in 5 hours.
The JP 15 times in 2.5 hours.
6o rounds of Toypocalypse in 5 hours.
Personally going AFK occasionally does sound attractive and I can fully understand why they do it although it is impractical as I believe that Snowball Mayhem has a very short inactivity timer.
the only way I see to speed up Snowball Mayhem is if one side stayed at their spawn which would cut the game time by more than half and bring it closer into line with the durations of the other activities.
But what harm are they doing by going AFK? – the rewards aren’t particularly high win or lose. It’s a mini game with no ranking, and as far as I’m aware going AFK in PvE is not a reportable offence.
I have played this though multiple times and have noticed two occasional bugs:
1) You get a game where it does not register a single note correctly and you take damage every time. Some people when you tell them this claim you are a “noob” and don’t know how to play, however having maxed out the APs for this one now I believe that I may know how it is played by now:P
2) Sometimes when you click to exit the instance you instead get sent to another instance of the game.
EotM = WvW = PvE
Everything that isn’t sPvP is PvE.
Actually anything that allows you to attack another player is technically PvP.
However that has nothing to do with the OPs question.
EotM is officially WvW. If you doubt me just check which section of the dailies it is tied to – also some activities in EotM count towards WvW achievements.
The fact that some PvPers don’t like anything WvW or that some WvWers don’t consider EotM proper WvW is irrelevant.
The boxes were my sticking point – the snowflake jumping and snowball dodging I found easy – although I had almost completed the puzzle one time and a score sheet suddenly pops up and a couple of seconds later it resets and you have to start again from scratch. Grrr.
Also I DC’d 3 times doing the jump puzzle when normally I’ll only get a max of one DC per day.
GW2 is through to round 3…..
I’ve tried to participate in the bells several times but it bugs out every time I try to access a stage.
The Ranger pet revive in water is OP if you let them survive until they can activate it. On land a downed ranger stands no chance vs. a thief. The thief can easily damage the ranger down or use a finish.
The thief can prevent up to 2 finishes on himself but the ranger only 1 which can be blocked by stability or stealth.
The warrior is better – I have recovered solo on a warrior more than once. A well timed hammer throw can sometimes buy time to get back up with Vengeance and take down your enemy.….again, you (and many other people) are missing the pet utility skills…. not many people even know the ranger can use them in downed state, and you better believe that those that do definitely (ab)use it.
IE: fight a decent ranger in spvp and he will use his wolf’s fear to interrupt a second stomp…. swap to a pink moa pet, and interrupt a third stomp….
The timing has to be almost perfect on those – a thief uses a ranged blind or uses a stealth before they move in (rather than something which combines those with the move) and you are guessing on the timing for when they do move in to finish.
