I think if you are going to try and focus two servers against one you both have to do it with your eyes wide open and understand that there will always be people that are 1) to stupid to understand the benefits, 2) just want an easy fight, 3) have no idea what they are doing.
All you can control is what you and your guild does, there will be others working against the cooperation plan, but just assume thats one of the three above and move forward.
My server group is the same issues as yours. Everything taken at night, two lesser servers spending more time fighting each other then the main force, etc. Game is new, folks will get tired of being stomped all the time by a zerg server and learn to work it out or simply stop playing.
Why do you need to have your completion done right now? If my team cant take the buildings I need, well then I will wait till we either can, or there is a rotation in colors and I will grab them then. Waiting wont kill you.
NA servers have a lot of euro’s or other regions as well. Several servers are much stronger in the middle of the night then during peak hours.
I like the idea above about changing the point tally rates in off hours for that particular server.
I am not opposed to it, but like many I find it excessive in it’s current form. My average repair bill is over 11 silver. I do not think I make 11 silver in between those repairs and overall even if I do, its not making me money that I need to pay for blue prints, gear, etc. I shouldnt have to go PvE in order to WvW, imo.
I think the system in it’s current form also contributes to the ‘why bother’ approach when your facing a huge zerg server. Why put up the good fight, if its going to cost you a lot a of money because you are constantly fighting at 3v1 odds.
Also don’t forget that Guardian sword skill #2 will literally teleport them to their target regardless of any gaps in terrain, even if the target is out of LOS.
This is my point. Other classes can cross those gaps, yet shadowstep cannot. I repeat, I do not want the ground target shadowstep to cross gaps, but the ‘to a target’ ones should disregard pathing entirely and just take you there if you have LOS and within range.
Saw this the other day as well. We had taken out the water gate and trebs had taken out an inner wall, so all we had to do was run through the water gate and kill the NPCs, very light defense.
The call was made so many times in chat but we couldnt get enough folks to make a charge. I ran around and looked and I found that we had people at every single gate bashing on them without rams, not a one of them would come inside the keep through the open door.
It really makes you hate your own server.
Folks need to realize it is a three way battle. If one team has 2x the score of the others then the other two servers should be working together to put them down.
If you want to spend a week being stomped go ahead and keep fighting two fronts.
I think the downed bar needs some balancing as well. Personally I would love to see #2 and #3 to be player selected from a set of abilities, with everyone having access to the same abilities.
Also, need to have pets go into a downed state as well, or make it so that #1 + pet = other people’s #1.
Hopefully as the game settles out a bit, servers will begin to realize that there is a reason its a three way battle, and the importance of that point. Work together with the other server.
I like the thief class overall, but it really annoys me that shadowstep abilities will not cross gaps. By that I mean things you would have to jump across. Classes can pull me across the gaps, I think warrior can leap to you across a gap, I get knocked towards people across gaps when they have no LOS, yet if someone is in range of shadowstep, but across a gap, I will not cross to them. Why?
Obviously there could be some balance issues with any ground target shadowstep, so I would be fine if those stayed the way they are, but I should be able to shadow step across a gap to an enemy target. Also Shadow Return should send me back, even if I jumped across a gap or jumped down off a wall.
Just my opinion of course.
I am with the majority, our downed state is really pathetic. The only real use is the ability to get out of aoe from siege or bosses, but other then that… pretty much useless. a 5 step teleport and 2 secs of stealth isn’t useful unless, imo.
I said this in another thread, but in my opinion downed bars should be built by the player based on a pool of abilities, with all players getting access to the same abilities. Right now they are not balanced, and I think they need to be.
My views of downed is pretty much only about PvP, I think in PvE it is fine.
My biggest complaint with the downed system is the fact that not all downed bars are created equal. In my opinion there should be able to build your bar from a set of selectable options that best fit your play style and everyone has access to the same list of options. Obviously everyone has #1 and #4, but #2 and #3 should be selectable, imo.
I also think pets should de-spawn or go downed with you.
Overall I think downed would be fine it it was better balanced.
