I sure hope you’re kidding. Thats kind of sad if its true.
Only partially. Blobbing is poor and lazy game play. If I make fun of it on other servers, why would I not make fun of it on my own? That said I generally ignore it in matches were we are the underdog. In matches were we have a large population advantage I think doing golem rushes is absolutely pathetic and poor sportsmanship.
To any mag that says they never blob (or say using Omega’s is cheap):
I’m currently staring at 6 Omega’s and at least 50 mag trying to take MagBL bay after a failed attempt of using trebs/cata’s. But don’t worry, I’m sure you’re not blobbing, it’s just a bunch of roamers
We all fall into blobbing habits, some are just in denial hehe
We make fun of them in chat as well, so please point and laugh.
It’s like Yak’s Bend 2.0. Time to stop sucking on the tower and siege nipple. There are 2 ACs in there too.
Were you in the group on MagBL that had at least 4 cata’s and 20+ people and couldn’t take down a T2 wall? o.O You even put them in an area where had to go through choke points through water…
No? I’m never in mag BL. Nor am I ever in a group larger than 10.
I’m pretty sure we’ve fought AoN when they had more than 10… 15 at most, but still more than 10.
Impossible. We don’t even have 15 active players.
We haven’t run with more than 10 in over a month. Most nights are 7 or 8.
It may have been 10 in the water camp fight the other day, I could not accurately count the numbers, but it did seem like more than 10.
Our peak this match is 8 so far.
I think folks over think the issue.
Split WXP earnings by people participating. Kills divided by people, objectives divided by people, etc.
I think that one change will have enough impact that the meta of the game will gradually change. Of course someone will post that this will mean folks will tell others to leave so they do not lose points. Perhaps this will happen, but the rally system does that as well and yet ANET doesn’t change that so enough with the double standard arguments.
^ Another TC wall of text and the most boring play by play in history
So how about those crowd fights after the GvG? Literally everyone was expecting Agg to make the first move after the GvG was called. The reaction to TyE from attacking us was hilarious too. “Are they attacking us? Alright stack up and lets wipe these guys”
It is important to stack first.
If you want to be serious, come up with serious suggestions.
No one should be mocked at this point.
I don’t remember how many seconds this skill takes to fire or whatever conditions that skill lays down. I just remember “push button to live” and “push button to kill”
Rejoice WVW players! Because it only takes less than 3 days for the season 1 wvw achivements to be completed
1 less achievement hunter every 3 days to help ease up the queue!!!
Got my new title and season 1 key using a ranger in less than 3 days. I’m not even interested in wvw haha! Thank you Crystal Desert players! and the invaders from IOJ and NSP for making it easy for me to get this over and done with.
The key point is not being interested in WvW.
Cat herding is a skill. It’s incredibly challenging to get that many window lickers to follow a Dorito around the map.
There is much truth to this statement.
Already to the part of the week where Mags can’t shut up about roaming.
You guys did realize that Gold League was going to have zero solo roaming and nothing less than 5, right? You might see some bored SoS folks trying it, but TC doesn’t wipe it’s bum with anything less than a 8 man team.
It is mid match and we are now progressing to the point of the match where we talk about how disappointing you both are to us. It being Gold League is irrelevant.
I don’t remember how many seconds this skill takes to fire or whatever conditions that skill lays down. I just remember “push button to live” and “push button to kill”
I think it is good that blobbers are taking things to the next level. Instead of all your abilities mapped to one button, you have mapped them to two. Congrats!
- The winner of the league means something.
It does not mean anything in the first place. This is a 6 team bracket with a massive population imbalance with half the servers.
Hey, hey now – no one gets stomped faster than me when it comes mags havoc crew cleaning up loose ends. I squirrel like the best of em. Just ask our commanders O.O
“get back here x… "
“no but I want to hit him”
“get back”
“no but I’ll just res this downed guy fast”
/whallop
“see x, shoulda listened”
“pffft, they got lucky”Easily 7.5 v me, but my warrior does have a girth that pretty much equals 7 … so I call it an even steven
And I’ll still die swinging and shouting, you’ll need a lot more than that

Were you feeling left out of the conversation?
Three mag vs. every TC on the map. Thanks for coming back so many times guys. <3
Just logged on to see this display of awesomeness. I had a difficult time finding you in the middle of your zerg of mag mesmers and thieves but you did chase someone around the back of the tower and provided me with an easy kill. Its so satisfying to kill those that brag so much. Thank you. Cya around
So you got him in a 2v1?
lol True. But I am a mediocre player that has killed him many times 1v1 so really I’m just encouraging him to brag less but it is wasted effort i’m sure.
I am sure bragging about killing him in a 2v1 will achieve what you are looking for…

I watched 20+ TC portal bomb 1 person yesterday in EBG. I immediately puked my pantz
Did he get away?
I would rather they removed all the objectives than the jump puzzle. The JP have not been filled with people, so really not sure why you are blaming them for the que. PvEers will spend far more time on a map completing all the other achievements than they will the JP.
After reading the comments, I would like to add…..
Grow some, I see people moaning from other servers, yush’ we hammered you last night, (no joined raid) ROT (deal with it)
And its fine for your server to run ‘skill’ groups, with 30 pugs, and its seen as good game,
But when we do a joined raid, smash skill groups and your 30 pugs your feel the need to cry all over the forum, good game!Big haya to [Agg]
Had sooooo much fun
(I see your banners going down)Love and Hugs
It would help us decipher what you are talking about if you used the reply feature.
I had fun fighting AoN tonight in water camp in SoS bl. Even if the commander wanted to abandon the camp (and did, never came back to try and save it after he left). Either way it was clear the goal was to get fights and not to cap the camp, and we had some fun figuring out how to fight the group.
That rifle/greatsword warrior hurt like a mother kitten.
Yea we had a lot of fun in that camp, just a matter of time till you get over-run of course, but great fun till then It was the ballistas and acs that kept messing with us

a skill group on TS with 30-35 people in it
If it was a skilled group it wouldn’t need to run 30-35 people deep.
That depends. I know if mag didn’t make it into gold we were transferring to either SOS or TC. Different guilds want different things.
We would have done the same, well we wouldn’t consider TC, but SoS was a possible, or we might have gone to NSP.
That said while it is true that some guilds will make those kinds of moves, I think most transfer folks are there for the winning. Mag at the bottom of gold will get the good kind of transfer, Mag at the top of Silver would have gotten the bad kind of transfer.
I think the term ‘hardcore’ is a bit vague. There are different styles of play in WvW and there are people pretty focused in each of those play styles.
considered ‘easy’
The disparity between T1 and T2 is not something that could have been balanced without forceful intervention from ANet or the playerbase. The disparity between the T1 servers themselves, in the form of scheduling, IS something that could have been done. Or I should say, done correctly.
You are missing my point. Though you are still making a solid point of your own, in that there is a disparity between T1 and T2 – but I don’t know what to tell you. I wish Gold League was just the top three. But it isn’t. The real competition is between the T1 servers. Surprise! But to see even /that/ competition basically ruined because of the poor scheduling is the point. The only fair competition that /could/ have been for Gold League.
It does not matter that you wanted the Gold League to be the top 3 servers, it is in fact the top six. So when you consider the issues surrounding Gold league the bigger issue is the disparity between T1 and T2, not the matching disparity you are QQing about.
You are preemptively QQing because JQ might win a gold dolyak finisher because of poor matching while my server was excited because when they logged on in the morning they still had objectives. Do you have any idea how silly your point is to the rest of us?
I guess I miss the point.
The point is that the leagues could have been more interesting than this, more fairly balanced. When one server, regardless of who that is – is given a significant advantage, it takes lot of the allure of what ANet what was trying to do with leagues, away.
So the limitation in this league being interesting, fairly balanced, without a server having significant advantage over another is JQ’s ‘easy’ schedule, not the fact that a 6 server bracket has three servers that are considered ‘easy’ and not really part of the competition?
- Are you lowering the regular map caps when this new map goes through? That would be a welcome change.
Wouldn’t surprise me if this is the ultimate goal. Reducing the caps would improve skill lag, make server population a smaller factor in victory and perhaps reduce the zerging we see now in WvW.
I asked that question in the FAQ thread and the answer was a resounding no:
We would prefer to see more people on the maps, if feasible.
This morning I was pretty excited about the potential of the new map, but the more I read in the FAQ the more it disappoints me. It really is just another perk for T1.
tier 1 players are still just that, players. There play time is just as valid as anyone else. This new map will at least give the thousands (per anet) of players that want to wvw a place to play well waiting on map que. Since it has no bearing on PPT and also gives a place to test wvw ideas before being sent to the PPT maps I don’t see how this is a bad thing at all.
It also removes one of the last reasons that anyone should spread out to other servers. Do T1 servers enjoy that there is only two other servers to fight week after week? Seems like we all gain by having some diversity. If there wasnt three ‘easy wins’ in Gold league maybe we wouldnt have a QQ fest because JQ has a better schedule.
I think the achievements need to be time gated. Anything to remind all the PvE’ers that we have 7 weeks to do the achievements, it is not necessary to flood reset night, which in my opinion is one of the worst nights to experience WvW.
Bottom line: JQ is starting 10 points ahead of BG and SOR.
This is tragic, how can you get your gold dolyak finisher in this kind of messed up matching system?
Its odd. I’ve never seen these servers win a single fight that wasn’t at least 2 to 1 in their favor. And they usually lose most of those. The bust a blob is pretty funny.
That is because we are all terrible. Well that or you can’t count, one of the two.
Just to be clear, this thread is people QQing because JQ will have more boring matches then everyone else? Shouldn’t that be a good thing, you get tougher, more enjoyable matches for more weeks then JQ does?
I guess I miss the point.
League will not be successful as long as the competition element of it is a farce. Coverage Wars does not make for good league play.
Also PvEers flooding WvW for opening night does not make for success. Sure on a winning server some of those folks might stick around, but all the servers that are going in with lower population to start with, how many of those WvWers are going to stick around? Those are the ones we need to stick around.
Honestly I have no idea why all the PvE’ers are rushing to get these achievements, we have 7 weeks, what is the kitten rush? I felt like I needed to go troll the canons at tequila just to get even.
I find the whole zerker build insults to be really funny. While I appreciate the value of a defensive build in an environment where your skills are lagged and thus unreliable, outside of that situation they are nothing but a crutch for people incapable of proper positioning, incapable of creating an appropriate build, and entirely incapable of group synergy.
Use the gear that best fits your role in a group to maximize your effectiveness while making sure you can live through a fight. That might be PVT, it might be zerker, it might be something in between or entirely different. Do not listen to the sheep.
Thing is that very rarely is there a situation where a good opponent doesn´t punish you going too squishy.
Welcome to crutchville.
Fact is WvW was not designed for roamers… so you can not expect to get better rewards than a large group… as you can only get smaller objectives that gives smaller rewards and thats makes sense. At least for me.
I am a roamer myself, I dont like to follow zergs but I never expected to receive the same reward a zerg gets when they conquer a keep for example or a karma train for dozens of towers. I cant remember of any mmo where you can do more money alone or in small groups than larger ones.
DAoC rewarded small efficient groups more then zergs and it is still considered the best MMO of its kind by many. WAR for all of its problems had decent rewards for roaming in smaller groups. In Rift I never did anything, but world and instance PvP and had no issues leveling or gearing myself.
I am sure I could go on if I dig deep enough in my fading memories. As a roamer I do not really expect better or more rewards than zerging, but I think it is poor design to give less. WvW game play is enhanced by having a variety of play styles all working together. It increases the overall skill cap of the game and makes for a lot more interesting tactics and strategies.

So today is the last day to transfer right? And not miss the league bonus.
Someone thinking of transferring, for a joke of a reward?
Meh I just heard a big portion of our already lowest server has transfered. So yeah…
I think it is based on what server you are on when you first log into WvW. So if you do not play till Sunday you could still transfer, as long as you did it before you logged into WvW. No idea if that is how it works, just how I read it.
Fingers crossed for an SoR/SoS/Mag for the inaugural league matchup tonight.
That would be an interesting matchup IF SOS and MAG agree to double team SOR hardcore…. I mean SOR will still completely destroy them but there will be fights atleast.
Im pretty sure i would speak for the rest of SOR, that we would welcome an official 2v1 in that scenario…..
I think a 2v1 would work nicely, but not for PPT. Both just agree to ball up on the same 2 maps (our BL’s) and designate a third only for overflow if need be.

2) Some of the things we are building into this map are the first step towards eventually making headway on the server imbalance issues. We have some ideas that we are going to implement, but the first step is eliminating the queue. We’ve seen, regularly, that when we make a major change to WvW, people flood the game type and get stuck in queues. This will allow them to at least experience some of WvW when those changes occur.
A follow up question. Given the above, is it possible that ANET will reduce the number of people being allowed on a map to help fight skill lag and server imbalances once those displaced players have the opportunity to play on the overflow map?
I was pretty keen about the new map until I read this from the FAQ:
The current iteration is that you will only be matched up against the other worlds in your current WvW matchup. That is one of the many aspects of the map that we will be actively getting feedback on from the community and the testers.
I assumed it would be like the PvE over flows where people from all servers would clump together, creating an active environment that you could go to when it is slow on your respective server.
Practically speaking the current implementation as described above is useless outside of a T1 environment. If only the other servers in my match-up are there, then typically the population of the new map is going to be as lopsided as the rest of the match and just as empty depending on the situation.
First I generally like this idea. I think it can solve a lot of issues unrelated to ques and I look forward to seeing how it is implemented.
That said, this solution is really about helping those that have stacked to T1 at the expense of everyone else. This will have a negative impact on servers already struggling population wise and it will have a cascading effect on unbalanced match-ups, which is really most match-ups.
My question, for the FAQ, is how do you predict the new map will effect unbalanced match-ups? I am not asking you to solve the problem here, but I want to know that they are known issues.
I expect we will see huge queues of pugs trying to get into wvw to complete the achievement panel, ignoring commanders, wondering around in their zerk pve builds, as well as a full compliment of gankers and griefers trying to stop people doing the JP’s.

I just googled what poutine was. looks tasty !
Quality poutine is worth taking a $30 cab ride at three in the morning after stumbling out of a bar. Poutine of the shredded mozzarella cheese variety, not so amazing.
I can’t help feeling that you guys are going to suffer very badly though in gold league. Your turnout in OCX and SEA was very poor, and had CD not logged on in EU to flip the map away from us, the score may well have been closer. If at any point we can get 600+ PPT against you, most of t1 is going to be a demoralizing wake up call.
You cannot suffer if you do not care. At most they can get 95 more points then you were getting, so why would we worry about it?
I think the key is that folks accept it as what it is and find a good way to have fun with it. That will not be fighting for PPT, might as well just toss that out of the window right from the start.
It can be by collapsing our focus onto the maps we can que, forcing them into long ques. I can be by letting them own everything except for what we want to defend as a bag farm. It can be by quickly switching maps to exploit their ques. It can be by constantly double teaming the T1 server of choice, be king makers of our own.
Do not play the PPT game, just find ways to balance the fight and play for our benefit, not theirs and we can all have a great time.
Great. An entire map developed for one tier. I guess we know where the priorities lie now.
Also, more stacking of T1 while the other tiers die off.
While I appreciate the sentiment and personally I hope all T1 players spend 90% of their play time sitting in a que, I do think there are some positives for the rest of us.
It will depend greatly on how it is implemented, but in other games there was a whole community built around the test server, they only played there and I can see this map being similar. Further seems like a good way to meet up for GvG against people on other servers.
As someone that could care less about PPT in an environment where coverage and population are the only thing that matters, I like the idea of a map that has nothing at all to do with PPT and if there is action and I like the environment, I would play there over the other maps.
No need to talk down on those transferring.
It is not transferring that is the issue, it is their choice in destination.
Will there actually be a schedule? Could be just more RNG limited to those within the league? Seems like that would match the ANET approach to past WvW efforts.
there is a place for roamers. it’s called ruins? personally some of us prefer to zerg. if it was me trying to roam, i’ll just do spvp. maybe a smaller server or one less populated? wasn’t it free to transfer to them now?
If you wanted to roam would you join an spvp game with a tiny map where the objective is to stand on a node? If you wanted to play your character that you leveled, would you join an spvp game that has none of your gear and plays your class different?
Please stop telling us to go to spvp, it shows a profound lack of understanding in roaming and spvp.
personally some of us prefer to roam
The game has plenty of room for roamers and zergers, the issue is the game is set up to favor one and cripple the other. I do not need the favors, but I would love to not be crippled.
I utterly detest jumping puzzles. They are pointless, tedious and frustrating. In WvW they serve no purpose except to drag unwilling victims into WvW to feed griefers.
I am sorry you find jumping puzzles too challenging.
I know I’m biased, as I hate JP’s with a passion- probably because I’ve always played games with more depth than Mario Bros 1. Even my daughter only played jumping games for a couple months before moving on to something that requires more than the brain of an 8 year old and reflexes to match.
I appreciate that some people enjoy JP’s- in which case I can recommend several other platform games that should keep you happy so there is no need for you to play GW2.
If what I’m reading is correct, JP will once again be filled by gankers and idiots who delight in preventing others from getting through this rubbish in order to fully complete a WVW achievement meta.
Maybe Anet should look at the figures for JP usage in wvw before they brought in this ‘achievement’ and replaced JP with something wvw related like defending towers or one of several other things.
It’s a desperate attempt by Anet to get people back into the JP’s and encouraging the scrubs that enjoy ganking and generally being kittens back into their liar. Sadly it will work.
I’ll be that toon that you see swearing a lot as I fall off for the hundredth time, or manage to almost reach the top before a mesmer pulls me off, or a group of 5 thiefs gank me, etc..
Probably see the return of the JP train – where the commander takes the entire zerg into the JP to get it finished so we can move on and do some real wvw.
Dear Chicken Little,
Each JP needs to be completed once in seven weeks. Given that you are worried about evil gankers and trolls hiding in the darkness, might I suggest you just wait a week or two and get the puzzles done when the rush is over.
Regards, Acorn
I can hear the thief now: “Guys, it’s an elementalist, we need 1 of every class to take it down.”
“HELP! Over here! It’s the E L E M E N T A L I S T!”
were they from UM?
