Bring Back the Scythe Staff Skin

I agree. This being my first Halloween in GW2, I would have loved a chance to get the Scythe skin for my Necro.

Really? No new Halloween content? Again?

This is my first Halloween in GW2. In all other games I have played, I have fully participated in the festival activities and get most, if not all, the rewards there are to get. I don’t feel so inspired for GW2’s Halloween festival. Where are mini-games and questlines? Stuff we can do solo in our own time? And I just don’t get a Halloween feeling in the game- there is no Halloween atmosphere save some candy corns strewn around LA. And the rewards, seem unobtainable, they are so expensive, or so rare.

It’s a real disappointment for me.

Skills not bassed by weapons

I think the OP is saying, you pick a set of skills, you pick the whole bar, not individual skills, and pick the weapon you want to use that set of skills with. So, eg, Greatsword could use Longbow set of skills, or Hammer set of skills, etc. It’s just cosmetic, though there would have to be lots of new animations added I would think.

I would like to see more confirmation boxes. I got an Elder Wood Logging Node from a Black Lion Chest and saw I could get around 200G for it so decided to sell as I needed gold and had no need for the wood. I right clicked to put it on the TP and rather than clicking on Sell on Trading Post, I hit Use. Brain to hand glitch, which happens to us all now and again. I sat there sick for a minute, and then wondered why there was no confirmation box to stop me from doing this stupid thing.

I contacted support, and they told me they couldn’t help me. I wrote back a suggestion that a confirmation box should be added to this. Really, wherever people can do something stupid, there needs to be a safeguard. Having to type words in order to delete something would annoy me, but I think the ability to lock gear and other items would be fantastic. One more much needed safeguard to save us from ourselves (and save CS a lot of ticket time).

Capes... Again

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Nikal.4921

Nikal.4921

The only game I’ve seen do capes right is LOTRO- their store-bought ones that look like cloaks. In other games I’ve played, they look like comic book super-hero capes. Pretty ridiculous looking. I’ve learned not to bother asking for capes as the results are usually disappointing and those resources would have been better used elsewhere.

Just no super-hero-looking capes please.

Hardened Leather Section

I would love to see the ability to dye hair accessories in the regular dye window rather than having to pay gems for a kit to do so. It’s not like I ever choose my hairstyles based on the accessories. I am forced to choose a color that may or may not go with what I wear in the future. I think we should be able to color accessories as easily we re-color our gear. It just makes sense.

[Suggestion] Heritage armor in gemstore?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Nikal.4921

Nikal.4921

I wanted the Heritage skins myself, so I went to look at what I’d need to buy. I ended up getting the Platinum Edition for $19.99, which includes Prophecies and Eye of the North. That is sufficient to get you access to HoM and work on HoM points. You get 3 points for linking your accounts, which leaves only 3 points more you’d need for the whole set.

You’ll have access to all 3 armor weights, thus gaining 3 skins, and it does not cost transmutation charges to transmute your armor with them. That makes it a pretty good deal IMO.

I’m having a bit of a tough time in the game, it’s so different to this game and others I’ve played, and so it’s slow going. I’m not going to push myself to try and rush it. I’ll play as much of it as I can take, not just for points, but I’m enjoying learning the lore basis of GW2 and meeting names I recognize from GW2.

[Suggestion] Editing Taimi's outfit shoulders

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Nikal.4921

Nikal.4921

The new outfit made from Taimi’s is beautiful on human females and all asura, what bugs me is that on human males the left shoulder is giantic to the point of riddiculous and the waist is too thick for the outfit to be even remotely good looking.
I understand that there propably wont be an armor skin version, even through I would buy it in a second, but is there please any way for it to be fixed so it looks at least as decent as the human female version?

Thank you for reading this, the rest of the patch is amazing!

I have noticed at least some outfits doing this on human males- looks fine from the front, but from the back, their waist looks grossly huge. Order of Whispers medium armor would be one highly disappointing example.

Again, what is Anet’s excuse for not letting us turn off shoulders on outfits? Shoulders always seem to be floating above the main armor, so it’s not like they are an integral part of the outfit.

GW1 Mesmer Krytan armor! It’s fantastic! Especially the female version. Pants and shirt (w/ modest neckline!) w/ jacket- no flaps, skirts, butt-capes, etc.- and beautiful high boots. I started playing GW1 (Prophecies) for Hall of Monuments points (for the Heritage armor) and I was so impressed at how much better the starter armor is there.

Newest character customization: dance moves

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Nikal.4921

Nikal.4921

I’ve been thinking I’d love to see the different races able to acquire the dance emotes of the other races. In LOTRO, each race had a default dance and some other dances they could pick up (like as prizes during celebrations) and also they could pick up the dance moves of the other races. The default Hobbit jig was the funnest of them all and I got that on all my characters.

I love my Norn, but the Norn dance is an embarrassment to me so I don’t get the enjoyment of dancing on her. On the other hand, my Sylvari lifts my spirits with her dance moves, and I love the Asura dance as well. The Human dance is much better than the Norn, too. I’d be happy to go with any of these.

So, I’d like to request more dances for our characters, even if they are just the moves of the other races.

Or just start designing better shoulders :\

Ha ha. How about both? Better looking shoulders and the option to turn them off. There is nothing wrong with choices, though Anet seem to have an aversion to them.

I agree with a poster above- if we can turn off helm, shoulders, and gloves for our gear, why not our outfits? Shoes, too, while we’re at it, would be great. My Sylvari loves running barefoot!

Well, if you’re going to bother to design new weapon skins, why not make them appealing? Maybe it’s just me, maybe I don’t get the design themes going on in this game and so it’s the wrong game for me, but IMO, there’s a lot of unappealing design work going on in this game.

Female Human Body Type Option Request

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Nikal.4921

Nikal.4921

I’m not sure why you’re asking for such an unusual and irregular body type. I think they’ve done a fairly good job in offering a wide variety of female body types already.

As a female with such an “irregular body type”, I would love to see a body type more in line with my own. It’s what I live with, what I’m comfortable with. Would love to also see a slider for bosom size, for downsizing purposes in my case. I have an athletic type body, I’m very happy with it, and it feels a little odd to me for that body type to be so underrepresented in this game and others.

Please make the Phoenix Light Armor Skin into an outfit.

This outfit would go really well with my Ranger, but I can’t because it’s not medium armor.

And take away my ability to mix n match It?

How about no.

I think he meant also, not instead.

I was thinking about that, having armor skins also available as outfits. When you go to purchase a style, you could be given the option to purchase as armor skin or outfit.

I have to say here though, that I don’t purchase many of their outfits because the shoulders are just so hideous and can’t be turned off. It would be nice to have more toggle options- esp shoulders. Whenever I just can’t bear the ugliness of the armor on a character I’m leveling, I default to the Cook’s outfit- it’s simple, no 2 story shoulders, no fancy doo dads and gee gaws spiking and spiraling and twirling all over the place. Lol, too much armor in this game, esp the store armor/outfits, is just over the top. I would love to see simpler styles. Street clothes please.

I’m not seeing the point of making gem store Armor Skins class exclusive. Why can’t they be made available to all classes? When you have outfits that can be used by any class, why is the same not true of skins? Perhaps someone can enlighten me.

Seems like they would sell a lot more skins if they eliminated the class restrictions.

I see being transgender (or gay) as biological rather than political. Life is diversity, thank goodness. I appreciate games that deal with both in ways that make them seem absolutely a non-issue in their worlds. We are not on Earth anymore…

As far as “ghosts marrying horses”- ghosts and horses will do what they will regardless of what we Earthlings have to say about it. :p

Outfit pieces toggle

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Nikal.4921

Nikal.4921

There are a number of outfits I just won’t buy because of the shoulders. I’d rethink if I could toggle them off.

I think one-piece outfits benefit only one party, and it’s not the customers. There is a huge disadvantage to the players in not being able to mix and match outfit pieces- it’s impossible to get a unique look. Between that, the paltry number of outfits in the store to begin with, and most of the armor in the game being unattractive, I have to pinpoint the wardrobe feature being pretty weak in GW2.

Lol, no costume should portray Shadow Abyss (a very costly dye) as anything other than black, most especially a sniper/rogue type costume. Makes no sense. The base coat should be reworked IMO.

Why do you play GW2?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Nikal.4921

I prefer buy to play MMO’s.

I don’t rent ongoing games (subs) nor do I like constant reminders from the freemium games that amount to, “You could have these features which will make our game not annoying to play, but you must rent them via the freemium payment,” Neither do I care for the lack of quality in the F2P games.

Of the B2P MMO’s out there, GW2 has more fluid and responsive combat controls, and features grief-resistant systems like non-competitive nodes and no kill-stealing.

This, but I don’t mind paying monthly subs if I’m not also being nickel-and-dimed to death. Both games I played for years apiece went f2p after being sub games and offered VIP/Patron monthly passes but also constantly reminded you that you should be buying from their stores. IMO, subs should get you access to everything, except perhaps some premium cosmetics.

I also love, love, love that GW2 has mage-type classes that in large part don’t have casting times on their spells so they can be just as mobile as any other class. This is a big plus to me. Due to a disability, I have a hard time with melee classes in most games and so am usually stuck with Ranger/Hunter if I want a mobile ranged class. In GW2, a different range of classes are open to me.

One criticism: this game is sorely lacking in cosmetics, and I think for most players, their appearance is of utmost importance. Between the paltry few 1-piece outfits in the store and most armor being, well, not very good-looking (IMO), it’s pretty much impossible to find a unique look.

Is HoT the future for GW2?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Nikal.4921

Nikal.4921

I certainly hope the next expansion swings a bit more toward the core game style . I’d like to see a bit of a middle ground between HoT maps and core. I’d rather not see any or at least much less of the vertical maps and less annoying mob density like we see in HoT. Just my opinion.

I hope the next expansion is more like the core game, too. I won’t purchase HoT, even when it was discounted, because of the points in this thread, and once purchased, it’s my understanding I’ll be forced to do my dailies there. I don’t PvP at all- only do open world content, so I am already limited in what I can do.

I just wish I could get HoT Masteries without being forced into HoT zones. I hope the next expansion will let us totally bypass those zones.

Bring back old dailies

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Nikal.4921

Nikal.4921

Frustratingly, if you have HOT you get punished in the PVE dailies. At rollover I usually have both my HOT account and my non-HOT account logged in at the same time. For the HOT one: 4 events in DS. Well, that is a wash since I have yet to even get to the zone (if the event to get there from TD will succeed I will crash). My non-hot account? It replaces the HOT events with a low-level zone instead.

This is one reason I haven’t purchased HoT and probably won’t unless they start offering non-HoT events instead or in addition to.

World Boss Daily vs jumping puzzle daily

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Nikal.4921

Nikal.4921

As a lower level non-HoT player, I have only a list of 4 to choose from. I am not a platform gamer and don’t do well with the jumping puzzles. Since the Activity NPC was broken for the last daily, that left me no option but the jumping puzzle. When I reach the point where I want to throw my monitor out the window, it’s time to stop. Needless to say, I wasn’t able to get the daily done.

Maybe we could have 5 to choose from, in case we cannot accomplish one and the other is bugged. I haven’t been that frustrated in a long time.

Did they just remove the Cook’s outfit? I can’t find it after today’s patch. It’s one of the few outfits I like on Sylvari and I’d been thinking about buying it. I was going to suggest an outfit for each craft, like the Cook’s outfit for Cooks.

Why would they remove outfits from the store? There are already so few.

infinite transmutation charge 10/10 would buy

I also play a different game that uses a wardrobe set system that lets me freely swap wardrobe sets around when I feel like using a different look (mostly for RP purposes).

I was sad when I discovered how limited I can do so with GW2. I am currently sitting at a grand total of…. 3 T charges and I want to change my look (again!).

If Infinite T Charges becomes an actual thing, I’d buy it instantly, that’s for sure.

Before I started playing GW2, I played several major MMORPGs that, even those that went f2p, allowed free, infinite cosmetic changes. So I’m in the same boat- very disappointed in the limitations here. Considering how important character appearance is to most players, I’m also surprised at the lack of outfits.

Would I pay for an infinite transmutation device? I think not until there were lots more outfit choices.

Being new to GW, I am pretty amazed that there aren’t tons of outfits in the store by now. The few that are there are a bit… much (being able to turn off outfit shoulders would help a little). I’d like to see lots of plainer attire, including street clothes, with separate tops, pants, etc. available.

Binding mouse buttons to abilities

I wish I could set the left and right mouse buttons to do what I need them to do. I’d like the LMB to perform character turn. Turning with RMB just does not work well for me, nor does the Action Camera. There’s nothing wrong with providing flexibility. It can be a matter of playability for some people. I’m about ready to give up in frustration.

If anyone is familiar with FFXIV’s legacy camera- it provides this feature (LMB chracter turn) and makes all the difference in the world to me.
