Needs More Skills

The only issue with many skills is balance but thats what a good dev team is for. Test things out, see how it plays in pve and pvp and adjust accordingly. In GW1 many of the skills were just repeats but they looked different or had a diff condition effect. Even if the dmg is the same, atleast the look was different.

Please add “gold seller” as an option for reporting people. I try to report every one I see, but I’m never sure if they should be defined as spamming, botting or scamming.

Just do botting, its more general since bots spam and scam.

I f****** love thief but the only complaint is stealthing during channeling skills and its duration. They are still dead accurate which seems unfair for an “escape artist” They just need to remove targeting the second stealth kicks in and make it last a lil longer but other than that, extremely fun class. Shortbow for utility and whimpy AoE, dual pistols for ranged dps, and dagger or sword for melee dps. couldnt be simpler. Only wish my thives guild played like me

Why does Shadowstep not cross gaps?

jumping puzzels would be too easy with shadowstep. For small cracks and jumps I imagine its just a little bugged atm but sometimes I make it through them np.

-Improve Thieves Guild survivability and add the choice of selecting which 2 thieves you want (dual dagger, dual pistol, shorbow, sword/dagger)

-Enemies still target you during stealth if its a long channeling skill or spell. Something quick i can understand or an AoE but if its a slow channel on a single hit or a short channel on multiple hits, stealth should break that targeting. For npcs and mobs they should target where you were last seen if anything

-New weapon skills that are quested or found not just earned from using the weapon. This will add more content and adventure to those who seem to want more diversity in their class. Not necessarily all new skills because GW1 had some repeats but just having a diff look or cond effect makes the players look diff even if the dmg is the same.

-100% completion of a zone allowing discounted or free teleports.This promotes you to complete all zones in yet another way and solves the gold sink from wp costs.

-Mentioned million times alrdy but, TP preview. Nuff said.

-New crafting recipe. No stat weapons/armour of the variety of looks. ofc the cooler looks will cost much more but not where you spend 2-3g on an amazing weapon but only want the skin. This will cut costs slightly and get people what they want.

-To remove botters in some areas (Sparkfly Fen) make repeating the same event over and over provide smaller and smaller rewards to eventually nothing. Must complete 5 new events or w/e to reset the lower rewards. So to break it down:
1. Do an event (call this event 1)
2. Do atleast 5 different events
3. Event 1 now can be repeated for same value.

-either gem store or craft recipe for a crafting material bag. This will take up one bag slot but you can have up to X amount of various mats in it but only mats. no gear, no keys, no foods. Just mats. Can go like 20/40/60/etc slots for craft item bag.

-Some events in WvW should provide supplies(Taking a garrison, helping quaggan or w/e, taking a tower) have randomly selected people who participated given 5 supplies for doing major events.

-Lower costs of repair in WvW. Now to avoid the abuse of this, you have to be active in WvW for 30min for it to start working. So people in PVE world cant come to WvW for cheap repairs.

-New weapon runes that add new effects to your weapon skills. Such as exploding Ice behind Warrior whirlwind attack skill or necromancer minions explode after dieing for small dmg. Ranger bonfire lasts X second(s) longer. Dancing dagger can steal life per enemy hit. Theres endless combinations that can make “new skills” without just tossing new ones into the batch and getting out of hand.

If you made it this far, kudos. Love the game and for release, best I’ve seen in awhile minus the tp issue. I know the dev team working hard to keep us busy but thought id share some ideas to help out. Love em or hate em, its your opinion

-Mesmer clones can climb walls in wvw, kinda unfair
-Reduce costs of wp in 100% completed zones (as someone mentioned) and also adjust the costs based on distance traveling not level. If i die and the closests wp is 5 ft away, i shouldn’t have to pay 2s to get there..
-PVE mobs and npcs still target you during stealth if its a long channeling skill or spell. Something quick i can understand but not if it takes more than 3 seconds to use or finish.

New Weapons: Greataxe and crossbow

crossbow for thieves! YES PLEASE. Idk what 2h weapons are warrior exclusive but seems more like a Warrior-only weapon if anything. Hammer and Gsword on Guardian fits but not Gaxe. No other class would use it either.

(Bug) Stealthing

It may be intentional but many times when I stealth past a group of mobs to get to maybe a vista or mining spot, Ill stay “in combat” even with nothing attacking or chasing me. Maybe its designed so you have to fight your way but sometimes I’ll even go back and fight the nearest enemy to see if after that I will be out of combat and nothing. Might be a bug but idk, all I know is with nothing around still in combat is off.

Buff Thieves Guild (Elite)

Early game this skill is definetly great and helps in almost any situation but towards end game, I noticed how squishy they get. For being an “Elite” skill its been getting rather disapointing lately.

Something that could be introdued is better(little more survivability) thieves with a panel to select what thieves to summon from it (Dagger, Pistol, shortbow, sword/dagger). For an elite skill it doesn’t seem that strong anymore plus all I get is the dual pistol and dagger when I know thieves have other weapons to choose from.

What about mounts?

+1 more for mounts. Arenanet has said to no to flying mounts but never mentioned anything about ground types… plus if they add some mounts into the gem store they will make a big profit, so i dont see why they wouldent, yes there is people who dont want them but by the time mounts are added everyone already would have seen everything in the world and done everything and are just standing somewhere in Lions Arch.. so somewhere like 2 years from now i believe mounts would be added.

Your really asking areanet to make more money from this idea? Thats the kinda greed that pisses many players off in other MMOs. Mounts arnt needed because
1. We have tons of other “bling” to show off
2. Waypoints would just be for the 100% map completion at that point
3. As much as some may “skip” content in zones, mounts ywould just make it super easy. if you’re not supposed to jump to an area thats 5 lvls higher why would areanet help you out? play through the zone and you lvl.

The only thing we NEED is cheaper wp costs like make it by distance not by lvl. teleporting 5 ft away should not cost me any silver.

only camera fix id suggest is if your in a tight corner, they maybe make what is blocking your camera view “see through” since yeah, some jumping puzzels are hard to do when the camera is bouncing in and out. Other than that it works fine and I havn’t changed the settings once. Got a button to turn around, mouse to turn quick and I prefer camera snap but for those who don’t, maybe just make an option to turn camera snap off.

Jumping puzzel in caledon forest

The start of this puzzel.. aweful. please fix it its a low lvl zone with a broken leaf at the start and then a small rock. Higher level zones ofc deserve harder puzzels but not a 1-15 zone.
scratch that, apparently the tree comes alive, fun puzzel after the first part ^^

Shatterer A Push Over?

Dragon defence = fine
Dragon offence = LOUSY
Not your fault but, it would be nice to see the dragons kick the **** out of us instead of just taking it like a *. ^^ Maybe make the shatterer approach certain key points you gata defend by pushing hard with dmg but him walking will nearly squish you if your not careful idk. Your the creative ones

costs of teleporting should be by distance not level zone or w/e scale they have implemented atm. Used to cost few c to teleport around Hoelburk or w/e its called but in lvl 60+ zones its like almost 2s to teleport 50 ft away.

Ranger pet issue

Pets are a common part of rangers so its understandable and no arguement with it but, GW1 rangers didnt’ HAVE to equip a pet. Now ofcouse in GW1 there were dozens of skills you can pick to replace that pet slot but still it was nice having it as an option rather than bound to the class. Basically only way to fix this is add a weapon skill expansion or update (Preferably free) so there would be more variety.

Reduce Cost of Repair for Dungeon & WvW

WvWvW should have near free repair costs. Your bound to die alot in it unless your server is just that good. But it discourages other servers from entering wvwvw when they are getting dominated and tossing silver away for repairs because they cant collect anything.

I dont like that title, this game isn’t wow dont make it into it. Dualing is aweful hence why they put pvp interactions in seperate zones altogether. WvWvW could use some improvements but difficult to say how it could be better.

Add this and the old 4 weapon swaps. I need my shortbow to shadowwalk but not for dmg like dual pistols and ofc, thief isnt respectable without daggers.

Yes! This is an awesome idea and would make learning new professions and weapon sets SO much more efficient. I like the limitation of a small set of actions/skills available at one time, but letting us swap them on the action bar would be a welcome bit of customization.

how can you enjoy the same 5 skills? I know there is alot of weapon combos but you learn them quick and then its the same. Definetly takes skill to use them all but quite a step down from GW1 having dozens of skills to choose from. Hope Areanet has an expansion of weapon skills soon.

Make Dragons HARDER

Last Boss havnt seen yet but the lvl 65 dragon and the shatterer are too easy even with massive amounts of ppl. Personally I think the dragons should move freely around the battlefield and maybe attack key points that you gata defend or something (for only one dragon (shatterer perhaps) so it isnt repetitive) but having them sit there taking it all and hardly sending people back is kinda dull. Their defence is great no question its their offence that needs some buffs so its not just another event. Dragons are the main theme of this story mode so they should not only look kitten but also kick the **** out of participants and each one being a bit different instead of just attack the dragon ( like I said earlier, about defending some spot so you have to push back hard)

Timberline Falls Mountain bug

You would have to take a character there to find it but east of the Scale Strand waypoint, the you can walk through part of the mountain. At first I was afraid I would fall through the map into an abyss and never stop but you just walk through a small chunk of the mountain and out the other side.

Also, I’m sure you already know, many and I mean MANY events are broken from timberline falls to sparkfly fen.

Shark in Sparkfly Fen

I dont think its my graphics since bigger bosses like shatterer operate fine but the shark in sparkfly fen attacks very off, I dont know the word for it but when it attacks it looks like only a few frames of it are shown so it looks like a robot not to mention it will turn sideways often or even nearly upside down. Pretty sure this event boss needs some fixing on its animations but other than that it does what trucks do to smartcars on the road.

Ranged Weapons help please

Just wondering, can someone show me the scale of the range on ranged weapons (Pistols, rifles, longbow, shortbow) or just rate them. I think rifle and longbow are the same at #1 while pistols and shortbow the same at #2 but I dont know for sure. Thank You.
