Simple. I would love to dual weild swords instead of sword/dagger which just looks off setting. It would only take 3 new skills to make so balancing them out wouldn’t be as time consuming as making an entirely new main hand. please make it happen.

BIGGEST THIEF WEAKNESS? prolly the fact that you can get channeled dead on while entering stealth and it only lasts 3-5 seconds. Not saying perma stealth is a good idea, but we do need a slight bump in duration. (6-10 seconds, excluding shadow refuge)

Thieves get too many nerfs as is… Honestly I won’t be suprised when the day comes that thieves are no longer played. If you don’t know how to survive well on other professions, you won’t play thief well, but thief damage is the only thing that lures people in (and looking bamf; fyi we need more hoods please ^^)
Honestly, if they nerf cloak and Dagger (backstab) Im done with thief. (my entire build is based on stealth and backstabs minus the op signet traits since im hitting around 5k)

If anything, WvW should be like pvp so it unlocks all traits and skills for you and bumps you to 80 and everyone has the same quality armour. not to mention free armour repairs ^^

Just for those who don’t know, “Throw Feathers” is a stolen skill for thieves, however we have that, and blinding tuft which literlly both do the exact same thing. (Read them on wiki if you don’t believe me)
This suggestion makes more sense with throw feathers since its mostly moa related, but switch out the effect to grant quickness for few seconds (maybe 3 or 4) Moas are speedy animals so it fits with it but ofcourse the name and animation would have to be changed, throwing feathers at the ground to get supercharged would look strange and silly.
Also, stealing grants wide variety for thieves, I get that, but it isn’t something we can really control since it is based on what we are fighting. Not saying to change that, but to add the stolen skill varieties to few more enemy families that fit so it isn’t the same skill stolen over and over.

The thing is, death is avoidable. WvW costs for repair should be lowered I agree but in PVE? Its a necessary gold sink since it doesn’t even cost too much as long as you arnt jumping off cliffs onto solid ground or linking the dungeon. Id much rather pay for repairs than go through death penalty again from GW1..

Sigils already add new “affects” to our attacks or being attack esentially making a new “skill” so how bout some new ones? seeing as how making new skills requires a lot of time to balance and work out. Maybe some profession based sigils?
-Whrilwind attack~exploding ice behind whirlwind, 60 second cooldown.
-Hunter’s shot~reveals invisible players for X seconds(cannot restealth while under this effect), 60 second cooldown.
-cloak and dagger~stun your foe for 2 seconds if striking from the front of the enemy(helps land backstab much better) 90 second cooldown.
-The prestige~also knocksback enemies with an explosive fire.
-Shield of absorbtion~grant 3 seconds of aegis upon dome wearing off, 60 second cooldown.
-Netshot~applies a random condition upon successful hit.
-Elementalist~Upon switching attunements, your next spell will stun the enemy for X seconds. (Enchantment duration 10 seconds, only one charge at any given time)
-Wail of doom~changes to an aoe around yourself, cooldown 60 seconds.
Theres one for each profession thought up outa nowhere. Havn’t played all professions but again, its random ideas that can be tweaked and implemented if they are worthwhile.

If you think getting legendaries in this game is a drag, try getting your empyrean’s or black belt from ffxi… (those who played will know it was 10X worse…) Be glad it takes only “your” time and not a whole group organization to get 1 or so item(s) off mobs with 2-4 day respawns.

FFXi allowed pages of your own map markers with a small title for each one. Helped alot in finding important bosses, events, mining spots, etc. Definitly look into this Anet ^^

Does this even need a discussion? Why it is not present? Duels are not just for pee-wee measurements, but its for testing skills, effects and performance. It is a MUST for any MMO!
I imagine Anet’s thinking is to balance pvp so not allowing duels between those with rare to get dominated by those with exotics kinda deal. If it was allowed, definitly only in Heart of the Mists where everyone basically has same quality armour, just different core stats.

Also please change it so all crafting supply NPCs sell their goods for Karma. Karma is a currency in game that doesn’t get enough attention. It really was a great idea to allow players to buy gathering tools and salvage kits with it. We need this back.
Just fyi, you’re going to need all the karma you can get if you plan to get legendary gear because from the sound of it, you won’t be able to purchase one with gold ^^ As for wp costs, I don’t have too much issue with them however teleporting 5 or 20 ft away when im dead to a wp costs me about 1.3-1.5 silver. THAT is not fair. I accept defeat with armour repairs and retracking my steps but spending ~1.4 silver to get back up? My advice for free traveling outside of being dead, utilize Pvp maps to get to La and then use the asura gates to get to closests city, then to closest wp in that city cuz its free, and then teleport. I havn’t spent more than 2.4 silver on far travels just because of this^^

Drop rates for champs and dragons are kinda supposed to be crap… They are constantly spawning and you want what, 3 rares or an exotic for participating the whole time? That would just throw the tp prices outa wack. Agree with the ranger changes, hate that pets are bound to ranger in the first place (weren’t in Gw1) but regardless, it needs fixing.
As for trade between players, its good this isn’t there. No game have I ever found where people arn’t trying to scam you through the trade window; game communities just suck. IF you get scammed through mail trade or tp trade (if even possible) tell areanet and they will resolve the issue, but player to player trade would just give Anet another 24/7 maintenance job to handle.

Adding a blade onto a blunt fist weapon is basically just asking for a new weapon selection for it, why make a whole new weapon? And spell book and power orb sound like they’d provide the same type of spells, just different so again, just asking for various skill selection which all weapons need to in some degree. And I said no to 1h crossbow because we already have imaginary arrows on our backs, it’ll make even less sense to skip reloading 1h xbow because I Imagine it would allow some type of off-hand. It didn’t make much sense in the first place but it helped Demon Hunters (d3) feel kitten so it fit there, wouldn’t fit here.

For looks it almost seems needed because invisible arrow grabs are just odd and lackluster. I would say making them “equipped” for bonus stats but bows are strong as is, so that would make the balance all outa wack.(except thief shortbow… give us options for our basic attack!)

Chain whip and whip, basically same just different skin. Same for the fists, power orb and spell book, Shield and energy shield, charrzooka and I think engineer have an explosive kit. 1h crossbow? please no D3, 2h crossbow on thief would be just fine. Flail is kinda like a mace but, spears and tridents are similar so nothing wrong with the idea.
Missing Greataxes, buckler (more offensive shield), rapier, and perhaps a wand(elementalist combin buckler and wand for example)

-Remove talking to npc’s while in combat. Fairly frustrating during storyline missions.
-Allow various camera methods and wider range on zoom (1st person to further out than currently allowed)
-Stealthing removes targeting from channel spells(multi arrow, life leach, etc.) Not Aoe however (Barrage, Meteor shower, etc since it isn’t channeling onto target, its onto an area)
-Mentiond a long time ago, but ability to toggle the camera on or off to lock onto target. Hard for my thief to land backstab with constant shifting of mouse to get aim on them and I’m sure other classes would like this
-Keep auto attack on for “Become the _” Norn elites. Works for kits and banners but not them norn elites.
-25 stacks of bleed limit bumped up for major events (dragons, behemoth, champions. Not for regular monsters or veterans.) Lets condition builds contribute a little more.
Tradepost
-Preview. Simple.
-Option to look at past expenses (not for gem store, that is already there). This is mainly for crafting so I don’t have to retype it all out to rebuy something I need to finish crafting.
Guild
-Last logged on for guild members
-guild item to “rally” at guild leader. How to purchase or obtain? idk, but the option would be very helpful for guild events. Doesn’t work in wvw or pvp.
-Log for guild leaders to see who deposited what into guild bank and how many. Lets leader keep track of who is contributing the most and if they want to take back some, leader knows how much is their “limit” so to speak.
-Guild group. Mainly for farming materials or wvw where guild leaders have a special party option allowing more members (8 or so, just slight increase from 5). Trying to join an instance will not work in any party exceding 5, error message or something along the lines.
-Auto sorting in GB. Guild leaders set where a specific item goes and if someone wants to deposit, it will stack onto that already exisitng pile. If the pile is full, it just goes to the closest availible slot. Less worrying for guild leaders to sort out the dozens of new mats that appeared in random locations.
Miscellaneous
-Map completion=cheaper(not free) wp costs. Incentive to complete map as well as the gift that keeps on giving ^^
-Jump during transformed. (from tonics) Just little side fun is all nothing important though.
-Splash effect for diving into water; Strange there isn’t one to begin with. Even a crappy animation will do.(another little side fun)
-Lower costs of cultural armour. The stats arn’t impressive for how much they cost, and it is already race exclusive (except LA) so making each pice 10-20g is a bit ridiculous. something like 5-10g would be worthwhile since in the end, all we want from it( if at all) is the sweet skin
-“keep me logged in” for site.
-in preview dye option. would be simpler for a direct dye change in preview menu.
-LFG chat channel seperat from Map channel. Mainly just for LA, hard to establish a group with random chat cluttering the map channel. Would be nice for a seperate channel to allow groups to form easier.
-Turn off commander icon for non-commanders. As in, I don’t want to see the commander spawns pop up everywhere when they didn’t earn it(which btw, commander aquiring needs fixing). Wasn’t a problem at first but now its getting out of hand.
Dunno anymore… honestly almost all of these are not personal suggestions. Most are things already suggested just organized and not trashed on, and a few are things I’ve seen from other MMO’s that helped more than harmed. Not saying to AreaNet how to run their game, but some things are missing that promote conveinience. And not the kinda of conveinience such as “lets make exotics drops easier and make ectos easier to salvage…”. Whoever posted that should be <insert negative comment here>.

…if you just want to race around the zones looking cool on horseback then mounts are nice to have.
I agree with this. I prefer mount travel over way points because in IMHO it lends to immersion in respect to the sheer size and scope that Tyria is now, and will will become as new content is added.
My suggestion would be to have fewer waypoints within a zone, perhaps only 1-3 depending on the size of the zone. So that travel from a City to another point across the world still remains fast which is important to group play when joining others in progress, and to then have mounts to travel with within a zone at an accelerated pace without the less immerse choice of skipping around the zone via way points.
I think there are many pros and cons for and against mount travel, I’m curious if this is something that ANet has or will consider as the world becomes larger.

Mounts only would make it easier to skip content by running by everything that normally would slow you down on foot

I kinda don’t like the current way they made professions. Alot of them are multiple types of potential “classes” combined into one like when they gave mesmer greatsword and elementalists daggers, instead they could of made a “battle Mage” proffesion seperate of that. (elementalists daggers doesn’t make sense either ,they are powerful mages not upfront melee)
A few more professions would be nice but mainly just new weapon skills for the current ones. Either different looks or different mechanics (distance, behind or side, Current Hp%, currently knockdown next move will , currently under [condition] affect next move will _, charging a skill, bouncing, facing you, etc).

it isn’t just the speed boost, that is hardly the issue. Mounts arn’t lore fitting. MMO’s arn’t supposed to step out of their lore no matter how much people complain. If they did, we would see racecars driving underwater and griffins flying into city walls because thats just what happens when you try breaking lore. We have waypoints and asura gates, learn to deal or find a new MMO.

Like Beserker said, Commander should be EARNED, not bought. It is too easy for some fool with no clue what WvW is to buy enough gems with their parents cc to trade into gold and buy commander. It isn’t very unique or helpful to those servers competing in WvW. Badges of honor being the WvW currency, I think they should be the way to buy commander but, on top of that, maybe a sort of vote or ranking system to those who are actually contributing to WvW to be able to buy it so it isn’t just some fool who spent weeks on end to get an ego buff only to lead his team 5 miles behind enemy lines…

Pretty straight forward. Horrible in many zones with enemies that channel spells, and even worse in pvp or WvW because they just lock onto you and you can’t do anything strategic or evasive. Simply put, going stealth should remove any and all traces of targeting you until you become visible again, unless it is an AoE which is understandable.
For the most part, stealthing lasts 2-4 seconds depending on traits and skill selection. Most channeling spells last a good 2-3 seconds if not more; this is just a very poor design and makes stealth builds very easy to counter. You limit stealth to the point where its almost pointless to use. Please fix this already AreaNet, thank you(if you do^^).

I don’t see taking profession elites over racial a good thing. I picked norn to shapeshift hoping it was promising but it really is just to feel kitten for 30 seconds. As for moving while attacking, counter it by making them costs more if thats your problem. Idc, I’ll gladly spend 20 extra sp just so I can do this. Limiting race elites is not a good thing, because then all people will just skip them and use the same profession elites which is dull and repetitive.

For starters, love Norn elite skills. However, I do have some issues with them.
-Looks cool when you activate it, but for first couple seconds you stand there howling or growling or w/e which cuts into your time eating the enemy away.
-Cannot move and auto attack unless you have snow Leapord. Really annoying to stand still and claw at air because its really easy to dodge.
-Resummoning shapeshifting sets all things to default as in auto attack (1). If your basic attack (1) is set to auto attack b4 shapeshifting, it should be the same during shapeshifting so you don’t have to set it to “enable” over and over again.
-Lasts short, I understand because it is fairly beastly (Ha) but for turning into such massive creatures, maybe add some stability or last longer? you only get 30 seconds and depending on the boss or event, you can be stun locked for most of that and then its on the 4 minute cooldown making it very unsatisfying.
I play norn thief and gatta say, I pick Dagger storm over shapeshifting usually because its short cd, does good dmg, provides stability, and nothing like reflecting projectiles back at bosses. Please look into “buffing” shapeshifting but do so in a way that doesn’t make it the obvious choice. (Prefer just the stability even if its just for the first 15 seconds, and the other 3 suggestions)
Just a silly question, is there work on a underwater shapeshifting form? Basilik venom is very useless and its the only one I can use atm :/

Crossbow addition would be nice, not just for thief but guardian too, and would act as a longbow with slow shots but long range(no multi shot since it would just feel awkward). Sword off-hand definitly would be nice, dunno why it isn’t already there but I digress. I for one would like a new thief shortbow basic attack. Slow attack speed boncing arrows is just not that useful or strong.
And nels, you can’t count thief stolen skills all at once. They only get 1 every 45 seconds and it isn’t cycled through, its stolen from that particular enemy. Steal basically counts as one just like any other F1.

-If added to Wvw, everyone would HAVE to get a mount or be slow to the fight and miss out on important fights/captures
- We have waypoints, and thats the end of it.
-Easier to skip over content when you run pass everything. Atleast the waypoint system makes you explore that area and find poi or hearts along the way.
-To Look cool?? We have enough costmetics with town clothes, Weapon/Armour skins, titles,( and if you wana boost your ego) commander buff
-Mounts would just clutter up towns more with fools who need to shove their Dolyak’s behind everywhere so you can see what they bought with thier parents cc.
-Want a scenic view? dont use wp. No one says you have to teleport around, so stop saying it “takes away from the view of the world”.
-If you add mounts, people will then start complaining that they can’t fight on mounts and b4 you know it the whole server will be full of horsemen trampling enemies to death and will just ruin this game sooo badly. (basically, they will never be satisfied if you start this; so don’t ^^)

Anyone from Gw1 remembers some zones had max party size of 4, others had 6, and the largest was 8 for hard zones. Being the smallest is 5 now, how about some end game zones can have 10? or 15? This isn’t dungeons so nothing unbalanced its just an easier way to stick together and take down events like the Dragon world events or running orr for farming materials without being overwhelmed with aggro. Also, atleast bump the base party size for wvw to 10. Especially if you’re in a guild and wana play together, takes that away when you have to spend 100g for ego buff to invite them which not many people can or want to do.

Even if the skill looked different but had the same dmg as another, atleast it adds variety. Its a shame we get the same 5 attacks per weapon because you arn’t goin to switch between 5+ weapons during combat. You may change here and there but in the end people just pick 2 weapons and settle with them. In Gw1 many skills were just repeats but atleast the looked different and sometimes added a different condition. Utility could use more but we got enough to play around with atm so not worried there but please, new skills^^ New skills can offer new mechanics or animations, different condition or no condition but instead situational ( <25%hp, <50%hp, distance, under effects of boon/condition, knocked down, using a skill, etc)

New classes won’t be coming.
This it how it will work…
Professions get to use new weapons, the Ranger gets a staff to be a bit like a Druid, the Guardian and Warrior will get to use spears, the Thief will get hand weapons like claws, the Mesmer will get scythes to be like the Dervish.
So they just get new weapons to BE like other classes without being them.
Adding new classes will unbalance the game.
I disagree. That is why there is a developer team, to work and test out new things and make sure its balanced b4 throwing it at the public. They had 10 professions in Gw1 and It was fine, excluding Warrior becoming near useless. If they did just add new weapons instead of new weapon skills for each profession it would make this game very boring and lackluster. Too much combining of other professions is already a problem imo because it just gets that much harder to introduce new content to play with in their new maps without just being a repeat.

It is hard to make new, but like the skills in Gw1, many were repeats with a different look and style which is all you can really make different between professions. As for shapeshifting, unfortunatly they already have norn race cover that so it would take away the fun of being norn if it was put into a profession all people could use.

Some of the values you mentioned are a bit high, like 1% per minion getting to the shatterer? But overall nice mechanics. He does need a buff instead of just dodging to resume hacking and slashing his feet as well as some sort of minions attacking the mortar and cannons. Also would be nice if he moved around and not just fly up for a couple of seconds releasing a few shards.
Perhaps, the entire fight could be about keeping the cannons and mortars alive while people on the ground have to put enough dmg out to keep the dragon at bay from destroying the cannons. This would make for risky ground troop behavior and therefore make a harder dragon

Many missions take you to “instances” in normal leveling zones. If anything, there could be an “instance” entrance 1 for each zone that puts you there where you get harder mobs instead of just scaling you to hell. I do miss hardcore mode though, it kept old instances around a bit longer to hold onto that challenge.

Type: Use of forgotten magic used through weapons to command the elements in a direct force. Cooldown based.
Weapons(Land): Main-hand: Sword, Dagger, Mace, or Scepter.
Off-hand: Dagger, shield, focus, sword(please areanet).
Weapons(Water):Doesn’t matter, underwater combat needs fixing to start with. Along the lines of lightning and water based with melee combination.
Utility: Instead of listing randomly thought up utility skills, basically all of their utility will be a mix of Fighter and caster like mesmer but they don’t use illusions, they use the elements such as earth, air(lightning), fire, and water. They don’t cast spells, rather they direct the elements using their weapons kind of like the fiery Greatsword elementalists spawn but with a mix of close up combat like that of a warrior or thief.
Elite Skills:
Magic Mirror- Silence(as in they cannot use skills, like daze pretty much) the enemy for 10 seconds and replace your weapon attacks with the enemies. Cooldown 90 seconds. Can press elite skill again to go back to old weapon skills while maintaining the silnce/daze. Cannot Use against anything whose skills would be overkill like world event bosses or legendaries. Only difficulty with making this elite would be scaling the dmg so it isn’t overkill otherwise all would flock like birds to this elite.
Pulsing Energy- Releases pulses around you dealing damage each time and inflicting one random condition to nearby foes each strike. Lasts 15 seconds, 1 pulse per 1.5 seconds.(so 10 hits with 10 random conditions) Cooldown: maybe 150 seconds or more. This elite is for more upclose builds of this profession since you want these pulses to hit the enemy.
Elemental Ferocity- You gain power over mystic swords in both hands and your basic attacks are equiped with the 4 elements for 30 seconds. Cooldown 240 seconds. Switch to each on with F1-F4(like elementalist) Using your sword skills while attuned will grant all attacks a bonus effect. Effects such as splash dmg, Knockback, far ranged “melee” attacking, Dashes, boon offerings, stuns, etc. This elite equips you with a sword in both hands and gives a unique utility from each element offering a different playstyle the player can choose from during the 30 seconds.
Since this is a hybrid type profession, it could be introduced as a new profession while fitting into the lore. With the new forces erupting all over tyria, whose to say people havn’t come across ways to harness or utilize them as a style of combat? Please look into AreaNet ^^

Just buy the highest tier you are finding or think your going to find and use them. It isn’t that expensive to buy them but what would be nice is equipting a new collecting tool after the previous one broke. Kinda annoying when im trying to farm a rich vein next to a veteran and find out my tool is broken and cannot equip one while in combat.

Orr in general seems broken. Almost every wp is contested (even the not so important ones), risen have super speed and spawn every like 20 seconds or less. Zhaiten just sat there after flying around and smashing the kitten out of the front of the ship and the mega lazer. Not to mention they put the “leader” as the quietist most awkward vegetable possible. He was not leadership quality not to mention it was supposed to be your “personal” story not Plantman and his trusty lad the _. Claw island and taking back claw island gave me high hopes for the future story mode quests but let me down in quicksand and now I just gave up climbing out of it. Please AreaNet, Fix this poor excuse of an ending. It doesn’t compliment the rest of the game you made(which is awesome!)
Also WvW needs different skins. The same zone everytime is just losing its touch. Whole new map designs would take a long time so just new skins like a haloween skin perhaps? or winter w/ lights, snowmen, little snow forts, etc. (no religions added so no flaming from dumb trolls.)

Kraken or medusa don’t really fit. I would like an underwater elite other that the worthless basilik venom but it’d have to fit the lore or atleast style of the norn.
Also, Areanet, please allow dagger storm underwater just have it change into a cyclone. basilik venom takes cast time, lasts 1 second of stone, and is relativley useless in pve and pvp.
