The idea is awesome! But like most suggestions, easier said than done. I would love to have some use for the waters of WvW other than quagans and Krait but there would have to be some sort of benefit from these, such as invasion of keeps nearby by land and sea, supply depot by water, or a spawn point by water. Great thinking though^^

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? troll much? stealthig is the core to thief. You honestly wana eliminate an entire profession? You say perma stealth is dumb, I agree but…. We don’t have perma stealth. Its at max 4-5 seconds excluding Shadow refuge which we have to stay in the circle to get. Your suggestion, I’m sorry, but is god aweful.

Thieves & Rifles: Snipers.

They may be able to get close to the enemy, but it’s not like they are beefy in any way. For WvW I could definetly use some more range since thats basically like 90% of WvW experience. Only time they can be really useful is when they break a gate down and storm in. Idk if making 1200 range is suitable as ranges like those are what make “Rangers” longbow shine. Dunno why their SB has also 1200 range but in any case, thief needs atleast a bump in SB range to 1000 base or a new weapon selection for those ranges( such as crossbow?)

Just a few things that could make things run a little smoother. Feel free to post your own or comment on these.
-Guild member “Last Logged In column”
-“Remember my log-in” on main site
-Lowered WvW repair costs. Suggested a dozen times but add a WvW buff that only activates from staying in WvW for 30 minutes or more which allows cheaper repair costs. Nothing more discouraging in WvW than to wipe constantly to a dominating server and worry about running out of coins for repairs.
-LFG channel. Map channel gets cluttered quickly especially in Lion’s Arch which makes forming groups very difficult. Also raise the time between messaging that counts towards “excessive messaging” as it seems to happen really easily even when you arn’t spamming.
-Guild wide msg for guild leaders to send all members mail at once or some better way to display Guild message of the day would really help.
-Camera snap and unsnap onto target. Some skills could(optional) “unsnap” camera such as whirlwind or deathblossom (anything that puts you through or behind the enemy)
-a crafted or gem store bought collection tool that is repairable. At 0 charges it simply wont work but it can be repaired like any gear piece. This wouldn’t remove the gold sink from buying them since you still have to repair but it does 2 things. Less slots in inventory taken up so you obviously have more room for important things, and no longer will you need to find a vendor that sells the tool you need. Could be 1 of these for each collection tier or just a “Craftsman” tool at 80 for all materials of that type as a type of endgame collection tool.
-Auto sort in GB. Guild leader designates a slot in GB for an item(can undo if they want to change that slot) so when members depsit into the Guild bank, it will automatically go there. If the stack is full, leader either has another designated spot or it goes to the closest availible spot. Helps keep Guild banks a little more organized not to mention less stressful for leaders to take out, take out, combine, redeposit over and over.
-customizable party messages. Create a custom message such as stop or, take out addons, or reset, w/e. Then you designate a key and boom. Instead of quickly typing the whole message out which can mean the difference between wipe or clear. Some may be able to cope with super fast typing, others may not.

There are no “tank” classes I understand, but if you gave a thief more defence or an elementalists more defence to acompany their already high dmg, why even have professins like Guardian? Not to mention Mages with bulky metal pauldrons and breastplates just would look funky. There is already transmutation so if you don’t like the look but like the stats, transmute. They limit armour availibility for balance because “Soldier” type classes are on the frontline getting hit harder, so they need the extra defenc; “scholars” just need to learn to play smarter and “Adventurers” are kinda in the middle of frontline and staying back.

Dungeon Crafting materials for tokens?

Just as a way to “farm” for these materials. Once we get all of these skins from the dungeons there could be some continueing use for these tokens. Things like Core(s) [Molten, Glacial, crystal, charged, etc], jewel orbs. They would not be cheap like 30 or 50 tokens but like 100 or 150 each, so there isn’t an insane icrease of these mats added into TP to possibly hurt tp.

Mining rich ore nodes

The idea is nice but adding more ore into the already full tp is just gana drop prices even further making the incentive to mine less. It would better to just have all 10 taps or however many is left in one animation for rich nodes instead of pressing F again and again.

No trinity builds. I like not having to look for a “tank” and a “healer” anymore. However I think LZ has the idea, you want taunts perhaps from warrior and guardian seeing as how they are the “beefy” professions.

Weapon Idea: Crossbows or Repeater

Hell yes to Guardians and Thiefs for Xbows^^ Thief needs a far ranged heavy hitter and Sbow doesnt work well. Crossbow could be 1000 range so it isn’t beating longbow use and hit like a longbow while being as slow.(Most games whether it be MMO or strategy games like SH, xbows are harder hitters but shorter range; bows are longer range but lighter hits and less accurate at far range). Thiefs are supposed to be quick I know this but in WvW it is hard to participate when all skills are fairly weak unless you are up close melee which is risky when in a mosh pit of AoEs and whatnot. Maybe some thief skills could be(in a sort of order of 1-5 all at 1000 range unless specfied otherwise):

1st attack regular shot; 2nd attack deals bonus dmg to moving targets(5%). [Attack speed 1 shot every 1.5 seconds] {Combo Finisher: projectile}

Black powder shot: hit area with smoke cloud to cause blinding and knockdown. Cloud duration 4 seconds, 200 radius. Knockdown duration 1 second. [5 initiative]{Combo finisher: smoke} Range: 900

Satchel Shot: Shoot foe for dmg and place a remote bomb onto them. Activate to daze foes nearby for 1s (200 radius); can be activated as soon as it is used and up to 5 seconds later(Can be activated mid air but only up to 1000 range. [4 initiative] {Combo finisher: blast}

Fatal wound: fire crippleing shot into enemy; cripple for longer if they are running away. (Front, 3s) (Back or side, 5s) Does not stack. Charge shot for 1 second. [4 initiative]{Combo Finisher: Projectile}

Skull buster: Long range shot, more damage to far ranged targets. Charge and stand still for 2 seconds. Dmg at below 800 range(normal), 800-1000 range(10% bonus), above 1000 range(20%). Max range: 1200 [6 initiative] {Combo finisher: projectile}

To build off whoever said the current stat groups are in place for balance, how about for Legendaries we can choose which stat group to put on? That way there isn’t a stat buff, no “unblanced” stat groups which I’m not sure how that would be, its just an account bound customizable weapon to your liking. Also multiple (and I mean more than like 3) legendary skins would be nice. IT would take awhile but eventually you’ll see tons of people with the same legendary to show off, which will be like CoF armour. Looks cool, but now its overused and repetitive.

Improvement to Stealth and Channel spells.

Hi, I have both a thief and ranger and know, maybe not as much as others but still, that these two mechanics could use some fixing. Not redesigns but just making the two work better for the player and be more efficient. Such as:

Channeling: Lets say your target dies while you are starting a channel spell(such as multi arrow), you can tab or select another target and the channel will target them instead so the reaminder of the channel is used up on something other than the ground or air. Some channel spells don’t see this issue as they are short but long channel spells are wasted if the target dies early, atleast this lets you (if quick enough) place the rest of it somewhere needed.

Stealth: Perma stealth=bad. 1 minute stealth?= bad. What we do need is some minor fixes however.For example, stealthing should break channel spells targeting, so you arn’t spotted out while trying to make a break for it. for the few seconds you have it, stealth is pointless if they can channel onto your exact spot. If not, add 2-3 seconds onto stealths(excluding things like Shadow Refuge since it lasts 15 seconds) that way you have time to think your strategy out or break free of a channel spell. For pvp, reduce this time to the 2-4 second base since extensive stealth in pvp is a serious advantage and makes escaping to heal too easy. However for pve this is hardly the case. With a 2 second addition stealths could last between 5-8 seconds which is NOT long, and gives more use to some traits that only activate for 3 seconds of stealth. Idk for mesmers but thief stealth builds are fairly useless with soo many limitations on it. To not allow stealth abuse, increase the time between stealthing by also 4-6 seconds so they must wait sometime b4 reentering stealth. If some don’t mind the short durations then perhaps make this extra stealth time a part of the stealth trait route so it is “optional”.

Ideas To Improve WvW - Feedback Please

Fog of war would be nice, makes map communication key instead of just going where the crossed swords are to swarm the enemy hopeing your side is winning. Home territory would be awesome! would be nice to pop out of a spider hole and ambush enemies. Maybe they could make another seige equipment “Hideout” where you can enter, see how many people are in it (max maybe 50 or so, and can’t enter while in combat or near enemy territory) and when you all decide, pop out at once to ambush from the shadows.

Free server transfers

The idea of free world transfers was so friends can play on the same server but, for WvW, it kills it deeply. ATM My server has over a dozen commanders from people transfering over because they wana be or make us better in WvW. There is no loyalty just people who wana be on the winning side. Id like to see perhaps 2-3 free world transfers and the rest are paid for. Atleast a upcoming fee would push people to not transfer so often.

Hey all,

3. Cross-Channel Communication

There should be a chat option that let’s people communicate with the other servers they’re playing against on the map they are on. This can help facilitate alliances and strategies against a dominating server. Sure, the potential for abuse and kitten-talk is there, but I think the advantages of a chat channel such as this outweigh the disadvantages.

Honestly, you have no idea how much kitten talk there would be if they allowed cross server talk. Not to mention people could troll their own server and give away group locations. There should be some sort of “buff” to the light weight servers so they can combat the dominating server but two things I would like and think would help WvW:

Lower Repair Costs: If in WvW for 30minutes (or more) you gain a boon that lowers repair costs in WvW. The 30 minute wait is so that those in PVE can’t enter WvW for a cheap repair.

New maps: There is variety, no question, in different WvW locations but if you play it enough, it just looks the same over and over. Some various spots like deserts, fully underground keeps or camps, thick forests, anything to spice up the old maps or bring new ones in.

Ingame voice chat would just force me to mute the kitten out of kids I party up with. There is mumble, vent, Raidcall(its free and works great, no lag or problems connecting).

Ignore neutral mobs when tabbing thru targets

I would like to add onto this idea.. PLEASE make it so that bouncing attacks (i.e. Chain Lightning) don’t go for neutral targets, either. I’ve pulled so many accidental deer and such when trying to fight people in WvW.. and it definitely helped me lose the fight. =/

Thats on you to learn your enviroment, you gata know how to avoid linking mobs or you havn’t played enough mmos. As for OP, I would like an “option” to disable neutral mobs from tab select, would help when I’m kiting large groups ^^

Basically what I’m getting at. ATM Legendaries are just shiny pieces you can sell or grind out for well over 1000 gold. They don’t feel or play unique other than just to look cool. Sorry I didn’t see your other thread but I made this one couple days ago after finding out exotics and legendaries have the same stats.

I played GW1 for a couple years and know, this game has its own style and approach to an MMO which is why I’ve stuck with it (and left ffxi, new devs ruined the game to the dirt). However, ffxi imo and many others, had the best pve set up out there at its prime since thats basically all it was. They hardly focused pvp because it takes months if not years to balance out skills for pvp and pve as well as making them useful. With that in mind, I would say not following but taking notes on their approach to pve could really help salvage up end game ideas. Here’s the thing about making these “end-game” pieces the best and their pro’s and con’s.

Pros: Something to work towards, skins are nice but some ultimate goal to make your guy stronger for getting end game instead of just looking end game. How i’ve seen games approach this(LoTRO, FFXI), make these pieces very very hard to get. Not just from some repetitive farming for a mat of buying them off TP, but from account bound items you have to find, and the event or dungeon or monster(Champion, veteran, legendary, something that is hard and doesnt spawn often) being the keys to these items.

Cons: people eventually get these items, and are considered OP to others with their obviously higher stats, thereby forcing others, regardless if they have the time or not, to work towards these items. This puts a strain on team builds.

Counter?: with no inspect option and transmutation, no one can know what your gear is. With the exception for legendaries, nothing stands out on your gear so there is no such thing as “picking that guy over another by looks” because not now, and not for a very long time will we see servers full of legendaries. Unless it is a guild party or people in your friends list, parties are just full of randoms that have no clue who has what and what kinda skill they possess.

To me, it seems kinda pointless atm for legendaries because if you farm enough or buy enough gold, you can buy a legendary. Whats the point? Things like end game gear should be account bound so they have to be worked for, no end game in the right universe of MMOs should be allowed to be bought, loses the unique feel to these shiny pieces. From experience, ffxi did end game really well because they didnt have just 1, but dozens of unique weapons of the same kind(multiple swords, daggers, bows, etc) that exceled in their own ways with a built in, i guess you could call it, sigil that made them well worth the trip, but they were extremely rare to find on players because the items you needed were near impossible to “Farm”. Not saying to change the whole GW system of skins but as some “end-game” gear, it shouldn’t feel like a grind for karma/gold it should be more meaningful. I only suggest this because currently, end game seems pointless. If I’m going to spend months for a pimp weapon I’d like to know it got me slightly better instead of just looking “cooler”… Maybe I just have to accept the whole skin “end-game” but it just doesnt feel right.

@Grendel, i don’t or have never played with those pandas or intend to, tried WoW for a few hours and got bored and never touched again so dont assume you know where people come from. MY game was FFXI where you spent eons getting cool skins but those pieces of gear also were superior to others. They were considered the “best” but near impossible to get items that took things like farming a 2-3 day respawn NM or killing 1000s of the same mob with a specific move and moving to the next section. And if you pick people by the looks rather than skill than you must play dungeons awefully…

You havn’t played thief very much… they are all about diving in, dealing tons of dmg, and slipping away in a matter of seconds. There are glass cannon builds of thief that deal massive dmg but you have to be quick to dodge or suffer the heavy hits.If you are only using ranged then I don’t believe you like fast paced builds and need to rethink your thief build. Yes to more professions (atleast 1 or 2) but not another thief remake.

Weather
These are some of ideas for weather effects(which can be dumbed down for those who already have low fps) in some zones. They would appear in large sizes at designated spots around the zone. They add debuffs like the statues of orr [lyssa you cant heal, grenth you are poisoned, etc] and some buffs while in the storm or weather and apply to all.(npcs, enemies, allies/players, pets) Last a short 10 minutes or less and don’t appear often.

Shiverpeaks: Blizzards that limit visability and slow movement(slightly, like 3% or 5%) Ice based attacks and conditions(frost) are enhanced by X% in these storms.

Crystal Desert(When its added): Sand storms, similar to blizzards but don’t slow movement. Instead they put a slight chance to miss when attacking(3% or less so it isn’t impossible to cope) and buff earth based attacks and bleed.

Ring of fire and close to Mount Maelstrom volcanoe: Heat waves that blurrs vision slightly and buffs fire based attacks and burn.

Water based zones(bloodtide coast, Sparkfly fen mainly during morning): light fog with slightly harder visability and buffs water based attacks and healing amount slightly.

Fields(Brisband Wildlands, Gendarran fields, harathi Hinterlands, maybe queensdale): Heavy breeze that slightly buffs movement speed, stealth duration, and air(or lightning) based attacks.

Orr: Acid rain that buffs poison, fear duration, and vulnerability duration slightly. Makes the sky around you darker; and dims brightness.

I know there are weather effects but they currently are only for looks. I think it is a start but would be nice to build off of them. ^^

Aggro
This could apply to dungeons as well as outdoor pve. A new system that makes you pick your fights or avoid them altogether by slipping by(such as you DON’T want to aggro that group so know how to avoid them) Some new aggro types could include:

Screamer: Kill target quickly or they will “call for help” and link all enemies of that family within a large radius.

Utility/elite/profession skill aggro: Remain passive or have very short aggro range but have a large aggro for anyone who uses a utlity, profession, or elite skill. (If you have a banner or elementalist weapon equipped, they do not count as utilty but casting a banner or elementalist weapon does.) These enemies would be more for dungeons and come in groups.

Sound aggro: There is a walk option in the game which would be of use for this aggro. Could be a not so dangerous enemy (slime or a ghost) that your better off fighting or a sound activated trap(running, using skills, jumping) that you want to slip by or suffer. Many uses for this from going by a trap or avoiding a sound aggro legendary/champion.

I think new mechanics or effects for attacks would be nice. Like for example instead of skill 4 damaging and adding a stack of bleed it could dmg and cripple or poison, or Skill 1 bouncing off multiple targets could be swapped for a further range single shot or quicker flying arrow thats harder to dodge (YES I HATE SB BASIC ATTACK ON THIEF).

Not disagreeing with Sharkinu, but I don’t think people would kick others from party to invite someone with a legendary. In pvp, armour is seperate so there is no imbalance for gear there but in pve, I rarely have groups with people of all high end armour or same armour quality. In dungeons it comes down to player skill not who has the shiny hunk of metal that can hit harder.I can see this idea being unfair as it WOULD make legendaries almost a necessity but I’m just saying for how much work it is for a skin seems a bit unrealistic. How about instead of increased stats, it is the same as exotic but when you make it a window pops up and you can select the 3 types of stats(cond dmg, crit dmg, precision, power, toughness, etc) so it isn’t bound to one set. I think that would keep the balance in order but atleast make it custom to a “Legendary” of your liking.

Also quick question, is there going to be legendary armour? Again same stats as exotic just a sick nasty skin with the 3 stats of your choosing.

I’m not sitting behind those chairs so I don’t know if you know who all is botting and who isn’t but for the CONFIRMED botters, you should allow a permanent account punishment (unless its a stolen account and the original owner finally gets it back then remove this punishment). The punishment would be when they are in a leveling zone, they are an “enemy” and targetable by other players but cannot target back and drop a random loot bag on death. I would love to run through orr and destroy all the botters I find… Ahhhh paradise…

PS. OR better yet, put bot banning on top of your priority list… they are ruining the tp and trashing events. I know you (AreaNet) are working on bots and that atm all we can do is report(which I report all of them, even in groups I will follow and not stop until all in that group are reported), but how ever much effort is being put into bot punishments needs to be taken up a notch because we are seeing more bots as time progresses. Please don’t let this ancient MMO disease spread too far Q.Q

We got a lot of contested WP already in orr. I mean I like the “life” (I know orr is all undead) that orr has with events and conquest over territory but to me dragons would just steamroll over camps just like sending veteran risen giants would. I just wana see a dragon randomly swoop down on bots mainly, and laugh as they attempt to kill it with their brown bears and obnoxious shortbow.

Scene 1: I walk into orr, see risen all over, and hear explosions off in the distance… I look around and nothing but then the screach of a dragon pierces my ears and there it is… DRAGON BLOWIN UP BALOONS IN THE SKY!

Scene 2: why not make them come down? There are many veteran risen giants around already so we already know what it is like to see big bosses repeat around orr, dragons would just be awesome to see happen. Veteran risen dragon minion( or for the love of lyssa give mobs unique names instead of just adding veteran and champion to their name…) Have them come down and they start a group event. If they arn’t attacked for a long enough time they just fly back up and vanish into the sky so they arn’t everywhere or only allow 1 dragon per zone of orr at a time. I would love to see them swoop down and knock back a group of bots to kill them on site ^^ Also for their size, make their movement sluggish but they have many knockdowns and knockbacks as well as launching attacks so you gota know how to take one down. Feedback would be nice ^^

would like this ,its nice to go down swinging but if you are in an pool or getting targetd by constant aoe why not just accept it and move on instead of hoping for a helping hand to come by. (So many people don’t res in dungeons…)

I have to ask, why in the world are legendaries the same stats as exotics? The costs for them are insane, I dont mind too much since all games have some ridiculous thing you save up for but you spend like 100s of gold, 500k karma, 200 sp, and months of your free time to get a skin? This is wrong imo. For how rare they are, you should feel and play boss for having one, not just to flash you shiny piece at the group of mobs beating you down or getting smoked in WvW (or killing someone with it). Every tier or rarity always got a step better in stats so why not make legendaries the next one? Legendaries look pretty awesome no doubt but I think there should be stat bonuses as the real incentive to waste all those resources for such a hard to get piece. Please respond with an answer forum moderator as to why they are just skins atm, I’m really puzzeled by this…

EDIT: Look at reponses, I have changed my opinion as making higher stats would be unfair and make obtaining these weapons an obligation rather than a trophy as it is intended.

Um… have you even looked the options you can do with gems? How about buy $14.99 worth of gems, sell them for gold, theres your use. If you don’t feel right buying in game items, don’t think Anet is gana drag the entire community down with a monthly fee. Horrible Idea, and no I’m not trolling. This game attracted a ton of people because it was subscription free, Anet wouldn’t ruin that.

Well I chose medium armour magus fighter because there isn’t one yet as well as only small weapons (no bows, 2h of any kind) so it wouldn’t me mistaken as an elementalist copy or things of the sort. Not to rain on your parade but heavy armour mage fighter seems like guardian but maybe this would be a different style than Guardian(Havn’t seen the post so idk) Nice to see this idea is gettin around slowly but surely ^^

Much much easier said than done. Making smart AI takes awhile (look at LoL bots). They are very adaptive and react to many different situations. The thing is in Orr, many of the risen already attack camps and take over which takes away a wp and merchants as the “incentive” to keep them around. So not sure how this would be any different except for adding smarter AI…

For your conveinince ANet…

-TP needs a preview option, a fee or preferably free it needs one.

-More guild options; auto sort in GB, time last logged in stamps, some sort of gathering or “rally” option to make participating in guild events quicker to start, send a guild wide message through mail, officer chat for high ranked guild members( or just make a private chat that allows the maker to invite specific people to that chat room which would do the same thing)

-Gold sink’s need attention. Not to remove or make the costs pocket change, but for example; dieing should cost only armour repairs, not wp costs. Perhaps make the nearest wp to the player free to teleport to if they die. This can’t be abused since you still pay armour repairs if you intentionally die to get somewhere. Armour repairs in WvW should be lowered. To not allow abuse of these discounts, only those who have been in WvW for 30 minutes or more can obtain this “boon” of lowered repair costs. Dungeon repair costs are fine, it comes down to teamwork. Basically situational gold sinks need adjustments.(side note, cultural armour needs cost adjustments, 20g for a not so appealing rare is not reasonable)

-Some skills need attention that’ll make them attractive. I’m sure I speak for many when I say, there are a ton of the same builds going around. Not just because they are suggested around, thats normal to see in an MMO. But because many of these builds are very strong compared to others. Like the thief venom signet build that lets them crit for 13-14k or condition SB rangers or GS mesmers. Not to say remove their power because nerfs arn’t the solution anymore. Its about bringing other skills up to par so there are mutliple builds worth looking into instead of just the one of two. (Don’t make all skills equally powerful because then it will be a repeat of nerfs, just dust off the uncommon ones to make them likeable.)

-More emotes, seen posts about this a lot suprisingly.

-100% map acheivment needs a reward that keeps on giving; such as reduced wp costs for wp in that zone? Or bonus exp for leveling in that zone? Or increased node spawn rate? Just something that’ll make you want to revisit that zone even when you are 80(excluding the 80 maps and orr.)

-Dynamic adjustments; more people should= tougher mechanics along with the base increase to hp and toughness. More spawns, different types of attacks, perhaps a secondary objective. Something to keep the dozens of new comers from just also spamming 1 to kill it and dodge here and there. Not dissing, just from small groups to large groups for dragons and other world events, it all looks and feels the same just more people and I have done enough world events to know that. Also 25 bleed limit for champions and legendaries is fairly low. not to say make no cap, but for world events with dozens of people, condition builds get left out on a lot of dmg with this cap in place.

-Allow different methods of moving character and camera(click to move, camera from keyboard made easy, camera snap onto target, further zoom out and in, I’m sure others have been mentioned but I forget some of them.)

-Weapon dyes(kinda just for uniqueness, maybe glowing dyes?) and guild capes (represent!)

-Help those colorblind folks. Red circles for red colorblind players seems a bit rude even for being unintentional. Same for Green item names for green colorblindness and others I’m sure they have come across.

-Personal map markers with short title for them. I have seen hundreds of material farmers by now and I know that relocating good spots would be of significant use. Not only for farming materials but also perhaps a fun event you like doing or a common meeting ground for guild events. It would only show the personal map markers for that zone when you are in that zone so world maps arn’t so cluttered.

-some, not all, elite skills need some rethinking. I have seen many posts about swapping out elite slots as a utility slot. This shows that many people dislike the elites enough to wana swap them out with another signet or trap which isn’t good news. I don’t know what elites these people dislike exactly but maybe ask around and see which ones people don’t use or run a statistic on the forums to see which elite skill people have on which professions. Running little questionairs every now and then really helps get feedback in a friendly way to see what people generally like and dislike.

kinda lengthy but its just a short list of posts I have seen multiple times of which many I have seen get positive feedback. Not looking for feedback on this just as an organizer for Anet to possibly notice ^^

Remove channel spells when you go stealth. Complete fail in WvW when a ranger can channel multi-shot onto you and “see” where you are going.

I love how everyone’s arguement FOR mounts is that wp take away the scenery… Like you really want to mount your trusty stead to look at waterfalls and canyons? No you wana skip by everything quicker and clutter up zones with uneccesary furries. Atleast wp you have to discover them first along with POI. DOWN WITH MOUNTS!

Its not like they line up 50 mithril veins for you, and goodluck mining in orr if #2 was added. Mining is fine.

~Sniper kit(engineer kit for 1400 range, slow attacks high end dmg with some long castime skills)[Engineer]

thief speargun can teleport past certain puzzle parts, engineer can rocket boost to other parts, elementalists and warrior get speed buffs… the list goes on; jumping puzzels are fine. Just take a steady hand

Well guardians are supposed to be beefy, not super strong dps like warrior, gs don’t need a buff. Your only upset because they got “nerfed” from being insanly op b4, if you want dps go thief or warrior.

Couldn’t think up of one that would be “new”. Most of this profession idea came to me from ffxi Blue Mage but it isn’t an entire replica of it, just bits and pieces combined with Gw2 elements. Maybe Magus Fighter?

Weapon skill type: Cooldown based.

Weapons(Land): Main-hand: Sword, Dagger, Mace, or Scepter.
Off-hand: Dagger, shield, focus, sword

Weapons(Water): Spear and speargun.

Armour: Medium Armour

Profession Skill [F1]: activate (lasts 15 seconds) to temporarily learn the next skill casted on you (excluding elites) and replace F1 with that skill. New skill is availible for 3 minutes or until downed. Cooldown 1minute(starts only after skill is used).

Healing Skills: Astral Prayer- grants a random boon and heals nearby allies including yourself(heal is 75% reduced for allies). 45 second cooldown. 2 second cast time.
Healing touch- [Passive] grants healing on skill use.
[Active] heal for every skill on cooldown. (Max 5) Cooldown 30 seconds.
Discharge- knock down foes around you(small radius) and heal yourself. daze foes for 1 second if they were attacking you. 30 second cooldown. 2 second cast time.

Utility: Some ideas, really anything can be made for utility since it is what lets professions be diverse.
-Elemental resistance (ice, fire, poison, etc) buffs
-Etheral shield (grant small life shield for self to abosrb minor dmg) cooldown 30 seconds.
-Enchantments to weapon skills (splash dmg, bleed) Similar to venoms.
-Terror blade (like venom only it adds increased dmg vs. targets with lower hp% than you.) lasts 2 strikes or 30 seconds. [higher hp than target=25% increased dmg] [lower hp than target=5% increased dmg] 45 second cooldown.
-Evasive escape(lower all cooldowns by 10 seconds if succesfully dodge (excluding skill itself); cooldown 1 minute)
-mirror image (copy the looks , not skills, of target for 5 seconds. untargetable by target until you attack them or buff wears off. Basically makes one target unable to attack you. anything else is still free to attack you.) cooldown 90 seconds.
-Wall of transparency (target placed wall that knocks foes back if they run into it. blocks vision of enemies looking through wall, similar to a stealth but only through the wall) [Look at League of Legends at how they made wall skills targeting so placing this wall isn’t difficult]
-Signet of breeze [Passive] movement speed increased by 25%.
45 sec cooldown. [Active] grant regeneration to yourself and allies behind you while moving.
-Shard Signet [Passive] enemies that hit you take small dmg (not returned % dmg)
1 min cooldown [Active] explode your shell to bleed and cripple nearby foes. short range.
-Signit of Approach [Passive] 5% increased dmg to moving targets.
2 min cooldown [Active] grant stability if you are facing an enemy’s front for 10 seconds.

Elite Skills:
Magic Mirror- Silence(as in they cannot use skills except basic attack (1)) the enemy for 10 seconds and replace your weapon attacks with the enemies. Cooldown 120 seconds. Can press elite skill again to go back to old weapon skills while maintaining the silence. Cannot Use against champions or legendaries. (or world event bosses) 3 second cast time.
Pulsing Energy- Releases pulses around you dealing damage each time and inflicting one random condition to nearby foes each strike. Lasts 15 seconds, 1 pulse per 1.5 seconds.(so 10 hits with 10 random conditions) Cooldown: maybe 150 seconds or more. This elite is for more upclose builds of this profession since you want these pulses to hit the enemy.
Elemental Ferocity- You gain power over mystic swords in both hands and your basic attacks are equiped with the 4 elements for 30 seconds. Cooldown 240 seconds. Switch to each on with F1-F4(like elementalist) Using your sword skills while attuned will grant all weapon attacks (1-5) a bonus effect. Effects such as splash dmg, Knockback, far ranged “melee” attacking, Dashes, boon offerings, stuns, auras, etc. This elite equips you with a sword in both hands and gives a unique utility from each element offering a different playstyle the player can choose from during the 30 seconds. 2 second cast time

Traits: not included as it would just double this already long post. although some suggestions would revolve around beefy builds to glass cannons to far ranged to melee. Like any other profession.

This profession is a mix of elementalist, mesmer, and thief. There are no base attunements like elementalists, it is only for the elite skill. There are no clones or shadowalks, no true stealthing, no summons, no traps, just a variation of ranged and melee weapon skills (1-5) with some variant utility. Number values are just suggestions, I don’t see them as “balanced” it is only for show instead of placing all X’s or Y’s.
