The Order of Calamity [OOC] is recruiting!
5/8 Champion titles
I have been running your build with great results in solo q. What do you think about replacing Corrupt Boon with Well of Darkness (traited for chilling)? I found it giving me way more survivability. And since you camp axe and swap to dagger for bursting, wouldn’t sigil of Blood be better than Leeching on your a/wh set?
Edit: Opinion on Plague in power builds (with the chill trait)?
“The squirrel cult” sounds like a great guild name. Or a music band.
Congrats
Really cool people to play with! Bumping this thread!
CoF P3 >>>>> P2.
Wanna make people mad? Run a Turret Engi with a Shoutbow War. Condis are no longer an issue and the turrets are even more difficult to take down. Unless I’m mistaken I think another Engi with traited Tool Kit can also heal allied turrets as well.
Many posts here seem to look at Turret Engis as a singular entity and not as a part of a team.
Try it with a venomshare thief…. Oh the tears
there are creative ways to prevent them from insta-gib lupi even if they do try the wall on wall.
:)
Hylek technology ftw
Just checking in — it’s been a couple months since we’ve heard anything.
Any updates?

Classic. 10/10. Would kick again.
Why do people never ask me for my rank? Or a 1v1?
Right, I’m not pugging.
^I must have been playing this game wrong all the time
Tbh, I wouldn’t mind something like the Tribunal in LoL. Make players vote over warnings and temporary bans and let GMs handle perma bans.
You could argue that hammer guardians are not needed for most situations.
Plsdonthurtme
s/s is a condi weapon set. for a power build axe/maxe, sword/mace, sword/shield, and axe/shield are all much better choices. the block on the offhand sword is nice, but skill 4 scales only with condi so the offhand is only suited to condi and hybrid builds. mace offhand gives you great offense, and the shield gives you great defense. both work excellently with either axe or sword.
That’s actually not true.
Is this for solo PvE? I would change the longbow for sword/warhorn (better mobility), take VI in Discipline and replace dolyak signet with FGJ (in cases you need a stunbreak, take Shake It Off instead for the shorter cd). Other than that it looks good to me.
Holy kitten! You’re so vulnerable to conditions
lol I get that you’re going for the kill or be killed but man… Conditions will make a meal out of you every time you’re not careful.
He is talking about PvE, where a warhorn to remove cripple/chill/immob is usually enough and Shake it Off/Mending is all you need for extreme cases.

I may be a filthy elitist but I’ve seen a few people lately who join 50s and have either know clue how to play their class right or how to do fractals in general. I’m just wondering where this comes from? 50s are not the place you bring your new class or just be newbies in general. I’m not the best player in the world but I know to bring things to certain fight versus others. Has anyone else had similar experiences as me?
I think it’s because 70 AR isn’t very hard to get these days so people don’t have as much experience any more. That and account-bound gear which allows them to bring fresh lvl 80s into high lvl fractals. Anyway, just do it like me and save yourself the headache of pugging
I’m sure your ascended zerg will have a lot of success in WwW, but..
World wide Web? Sorry, I had to
The way I see it, new weapons should have their niche. Warriors already have the axe as a fast hitting burst weapon and sword for fast hits+mobility. Something like torch would be nice for condi builds that rely on LB for burning uptime atm.
I have 3 lv 80 characters, been playing for some time, and Warrior is by far my favorite of them.
Its my “main” as some would call it… And its the only class I use to play on PVP.
I know of the nerfs, I was around at the time, but is Warrior really that terrible of a class as we keep claiming around here ? I dont know, I just looked around the other topics and the only one filled with people complaining is the Warrior topic…How bad is it right now ? I hasnt played Ranked Arena yet, and its been a while since I last went Pve dungeons and such… We’re sucking that hard atm ?
From my perspective they are decent in pvp and have multiple specs that are all viable. You can run hambow, shoutbow, condi, hybrid… Even GS zerker specs have decent damage, mobility and survivability thanks to stances and rampage stat boosts. In dungeons you still have a guaranteed spot thanks to banners.
Yes, there are many complaints, mainly because of some unjustified nerfs (and I agree with most of them). However, it gives a wrong impression of the class in general.
They had to remove it so we could have a “new dungeon” with the 2nd expansion.
#weactuallycareaboutdungeons
I decided to give my warrior a new look
—
people who only play warrior are usually worse
—:(
So much hate on warrior mains :/
I have absolutely no idea how one would manage to not trigger the attack at all while off the wall, though. Unless Spoj is talking about using some of the elevated terrain in there to essentially have the same situation as ‘on wall’, but technically without the wall, in which case, that’s really easy.
It can be achieved by constant pushing (although it’s a questionable tactic imo).
I think you can still go down and rally from a grub after the terminal is destroyed to avoid the teleport. Not sure if they fixed that though and I don’t really wanna try it either.
yeah, I was thinking about the inspiring battle standard, but don’t remember seeing any banners, but I could be wrong. I wasn’t exactly looking for them. The amulet might be about right, unless they were using something else to provide massive amount of healing. I was also thinking of maybe shout healing as well, with the inspiring battle standards would also provide some great healing. Have perma regen, with shout bursts.
You can’t have shoutheals and banner regen in the same build, they are both Tactics grandmaster traits.
Build templates pls…
Gave away AC story on the LFG for funsies after soloing it tonight.
All four randoms said thanks.
Warm fuzzies.
This is funny because I did the same some time ago and I had to thank myself in party chat just for 1 person to say a simple “ty”.
For the AOE how does it work exactly? Like is it waves of projectiles? constant projectiles? If waves, how many?
I’ve noticed I can often get away with a dodge back, wait like half a second, then dodge back in. Sometimes I’ll get tagged though, which has me thinking that it’s 2-3 waves?
Obviously I prefer to be safe and Dodge back, then block back in though, just curious the exact mechanic if people know it.
Read what I just posted It’s 3 waves of projectiles with each wave aiming on your current position. Ideally you wanna evade a bit later after the first dodge so your evade frame covers the 3rd wave aswell. For the block it doesn’t matter since it’s long enough anyway.
Forum bug pls
Here is my guide on how to solo lupicus as a warrior. Full gothrough is in description.
http://youtu.be/iuMgBBlWz58I know it was a joke, but I am finding that going full settlers is the best way to learn him, at least his tells. (importantly, now I can predict when he is going to kick).
I am dying at phase 2.
EDIT: back on warrior and melee by the way.Phase transition: When learning, just ensure you have Balanced Stance / Dolyak Signet / Shake it Off on your bar to avoid or deal with the knockdown from the unavoidable phase change grub. Once you’re comfortable actually soloing lupicus, learn to use a fire elemental powder, ogre pet whistle, or your friendly dungeon NPC (if they’re still alive and conveniently located).
Swipe: Dodge / WWA through Lupicus when he pulls his arm back. You can also block it, but depending on exactly how far away you are, your sword 5 block might just block the knockback+big damage and leave you with 3 bleed stacks.
AoE (if low latency, and 3 or less targets for Lupi): When the first red circle is drawn on your character, dodge back. After that, you will wait for the next red circle to be drawn on your character, and either dodge again, whirlwind attack, or block and run to him. I’d recommend trying to end up at the end of your dodge/block in an ‘old’ AoE circle (where the damage has already hit, but the circle lingers for a bit).
Shadowstep: Dodge as he comes toward you (this should never happen). If he’s going to your NPC, run (may need to use “rush” to get there soon enough depending on distance) over there but don’t get there too early / if you get there too early dodge.
Ranged autoattack: Stay in melee. Don’t move (other than for AoE and Swipes) if you’re around elevated terrain, as sometimes you can get hit in melee around this terrain if you move.
Basically this. I’ll just add a few things.
Phase transition: if you don’t wanna bother switching out dps utilites but you know that pet consumables won’t be enough, just use an Ash Legion spy kit for the transition grub. If you attack him right after he eats the grub, he won’t reset (it also doesn’t require any positioning). Open your inventory for the fight and drag it over where the minimap is, move the spy kit to the first inventory slot. As soon as he goes invuln, double click the kit and use skill no.1, make sure to only press 1 once so you don’t reveal yourself with the AA.
Swipe: If you’re fighting him off wall, you can simply run through his hitbox when he does the swipe, no dodges/blocks needed. You can do the same with the kick (a bit harder, I found that when he’s walled it’s usually where the half-circle of his hitbox is touching the wall), although I wouldn’t try it for that if I wanted to play it safe. There is also a distance where both his ranged AA and swipe miss you automatically. Sword 5 only blocks both the damage and bleeding if you’re approximately at max melee range, being too close to his hitbox causes you to eat bleeding damage.
AoE: This one comes in 3 waves. Try to delay your first dodge until he finished casting (releasing the first wave). You don’t wanna dodge too early because every wave is targetted on top of you and other targets nearby (Because of that, don’t dodge back towards the NPC if they are still alive. If you are duoing without reflects, dodge back into different directions.)
Shadowstep: If he shadowsteps back to the NPC at the start of phase 2, use either your sword 5 block or close gap to him with GS 3 to not get hit by his ranged AA.
Ranged autoattack: If you know you’re not gonna need sword 5, you can use it to proc the counterattack (be close enough, though) for more bleeding uptime that procs your no.5 trait in Arms.

IKR? I wasn’t expecting the feels trip at all but god… the images that popped up after Hinata was proposing showing the relationship that would have been had they crossed paths was so touching that jhsdfaflafalfa I don’t even know how to describe it. Had the lump in my throat and everything.
As to everyone telling me to watch Clannad — I already plan to… Element suggested to me while I was finishing Angel Beats and your comments suggest that he is probably right and it’ll break my heart. We shall see@
Clannad is nice, but the first season is boring to watch imo. No drama, just slice of life with a bit of romance. One of my favorite movies is Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki, oh the feels…
Wolf Children.
Have you watched Kaguya-hime no Monogatari yet?
Nope, will do :p
/15animecharrs
Regarding the Stones in AC, I believe they don’t actually work there because of the scaling.
Correct, sharpening stones give 0 power in AC… Since maintenance oils have almost no effect there, just use skale venom.

Check out NoPulse (Leo). He sells Arah pretty much all day. Should be easy to find him on the forums.
I am farming achievement points pretty much all day But yeah, I casually solo path 3 at least once a day.
So I got kicked from AC story today for soloing the burrow, GS champ, hammer guy+adds, Kasha, the lovers and waypointing + almost killing the last boss before they got there… Toxic PHIWs not letting me get my story dungeon daily…
Elite Arah soloers use cleric’s gear to solo orbs!
If they’re not thieves, yes. But it’s only one aspect of path 2, every other part is done in zerkers.
Path 2 doesn’t have orbs. Only paths 3/4. Also mesmers don’t need cleric’s to make it.
Neither do warriors (with perfect execution).
We had a “potatoes only” CoF run today with 2 pugs, was pretty fun to carry them… Also all the potato puns on TS
oh my god do not leave your party of your own free will at the last raidboss after doing 3 fractals
I cri everytiem…
Did anyone ever got giant eye drop from… well anything?
I’ve got 2 from Heavy Moldy Bags so far…
they didn’t even know the zerg meta.
What if they were playing Protoss?
Isn’t zerg meta pvt with melandru/hoelbrak runes?
Pvt armor, berserker weapons and trinkets, hoelbrak runes. For warrior at least.
run pistol off hand on thief, put paralysation sigil on it and use headshot when lupi is about to aoe.
You can thank me later.
Wait, the Sigil works on Dazes too? Interesting…

I’m running s/t a/d for some time already and I can agree with most you said. I have some questions, though. I find myself roaming between points very often (unorganized teams seem to forget side points most of the time), using sword for its great mobility. How useful would a 25% movement speed bonus be for me? So far I’ve been using traveler runes only for a dedicated Spirit Watch orb runner build. And what about Rune of the Afflicted? The 6th bonus seems to synergize well with both poison master and circle of life.
Once an elitist gives advice about metabuilds, it happens to be the case that people say he forces the casual into the meta. In fact he doesn’t.
Hehehe.
Long long time ago, I was kicked from my casual guild because they “play how they want” and it “always worked” for them so I should stop giving advice “forcing” them to play my way.
For instance, a newbie would ask in guild chat what weapon his mesmer should use in dungeons and get told to “take a staff because the skills look flashy and cool”. I would answer “melee is your best option, so go sword/focus” followed by explanations why sword is superior. Apparently, that hurt their egos.
At least there are still some people who appreciate help (ty [Noob] students).
Just interrupt his AOE.
TL;DR: OP confused a long run with inexperienced pugs with a speedrun.
Using exploits is obviously unintended. But if something is unintended, it doesn’t mean it’s (or was) an exploit. You draw the wrong conclusion there.
I’ve never said it’s an exploit, and many people here don’t consider it as an exploit. But it is almost for sure that it’s unintended (like the examples I listed, they both involve reflecting), and what’s more it takes all the fun out of one of the few fun bosses in the game.
Ugh. Let me paraphrase it then. It was not a bugfix, but just a nerf.
And what’s stopping anet from “nerfing” Lupi?
Nothing. They are just slow when it comes to dungeon changes.

So one shotting the jungle wurm was intended? Also look at Malrona, Lupi might end up getting the same treatment if this gets too out of hand.
