Is the Gold to Gem price ratio going to decrease once the Halloween event is lower?

I don’t really see them going any way but up. Inflation happens regardless. There are never enough gold sinks.

When bank slots were 4g I was thinking about getting one, now I’m just thinking about paying $8.

I assume Anet wants more people thinking like me.

On the other hand I made 4g last night, so would I trade 2-3 nights of production for a bank slot?

So what are you flipping ?

That’s because worthless is worthless. You need an item sink to keep prices up with the money sink. That item sink is currently the vendor. Just look at a lot of cooked food that nobody wants. 300k listed for 1c because people can’t vendor the items.

To get those items out of the system you need some way to turn them into something useful. Other than the Precursor grind right now that isn’t happening.

I’m with Zelot. The reason I quit playing WoW was because gold wasn’t scarce enough. Everyone could make it by doing daily’s and having 200k gold didn’t matter.

(My transaction #‘s aren’t that high, maybe 80k by 30k. Can’t look them up right now)

I’d love to see a wealth distribution graph of accounts with lvl 80’s on them just to see how close I am to the top 1%.

Looking at the sell orders for decent gold weapon:

3 players list 2 at 13.34
3 players list 5 at 13.35
1 player list 1 at 13.40
1 player list 1 at 13.49
1 player list 34 at 13.50
2 players list 4 at 16.60
3 players list 3 at 16.65
et

a 3s undercut for over 25% of the value. Unless he’s encouraging people to buy these and try to rip them for ectos or wants someone to buy them to speculate on, why would someone think that the market would move his items that much faster if he undercut 3s?

(Buy orders are at about 9s if it matters)

I spend an entire day farming for mats and the drop rate was so poor in multiple zones that I was only able to advance a couple of levels in crafting. I don’t want to mats off the trade company.

Does anyone have comments on my approach to crafting until I get to level 80?
Thanks

Everyone is right. The secret to not grinding is to sell what you don’t need and buy what you do so you don’t have to grind.

You should actually finish a zone, have 200+ leather 200+ cloth, 300+ wood and 300+ metal and THEN do a 75 skill block of crafting.

You won’t have enough fine mats, but you know what, tons of people are skilling on those same inscriptions, so sell the fine mats you farmed and if it makes sense (it usually will till level 75ish items) and buy the inscriptions everyone else is losing money on.

You will have to do maybe 2-3 more discoveries per block of 75, but the truth is you wanted those discoveries anyway because you wanted to make your armor right?

If you really get hard up for money go farm wood (and everything else) in a Tier 3 or Tier 4 zone. The trees are about 1s each, you can farm 20-30s in 15 min.

(skill on gloves, helms, boots, shoulders, horns, torches, pistols)

I think part of the problem is that big hole when you log into character select where it reminds you that you have 3 max level characters, have pvp’d your heart out and still no legendary.

Unbalance between dps and support make pvp not fun.

It really does need to be this way. Warhammer AoR had super good healing if you set up for it and a 2 on 2 fight could last for a long time.

Quicker battles and more people dying means more honor per hour.

Just like in PvE its more about not getting hit than healing through it.

I think it was a poor choice to put in the game, because for most people this is the “go to set” of stats. I was telling the guild the other night that I didn’t like my build because it doesn’t work well in MF gear.

I am still gearing out my exotic sets, but I basically do like the OP. Nice armor in dungeons. Yellow MF armor for farming.

The Mystic Forge… Ive always looked at it like a convoluted mess. Ive been trying to use it but cant get anything out of it.

I say its a “convoluted mess” because ive seen around on other websites pics that shows you how to create certain “ELITE” weapons and the steps to make them are really just ludicrous.

This is just a small example.

Sunrise is a Legendary Weapon……

There are other known recipes.

At any rate if you do a search on Mystic Forge on the wiki you will get a lot of the info you seek:

Do you fill buy orders?

NoOneShotU.3479

Do you think there is a better way to determine that than making and item and gambling?

I made a Cleric’s Orichalcum Inscription the other night. It cost about 1.8g to make and the sale price was about 2.45g. I’m thinking EZ money. Apparently though, the market for these is super thin because I left it there for 3-4 days watching people gradually undercut me and they didn’t seem to be selling either. I took a big bite out of my price hoping a speculator would grab it. (2.20g) but that sat there for a while as well (and started getting undercut for a couple days). I ended up selling it to a buy order after 8 days because I realized the market was just artificial.

Are there any stats out there that would hint that this market was false beyond guessing at the listing volume?

What do I do with these...

For most of them, just vendor. Crafted items seem to have lower than normal salvage rates.

Do you fill buy orders?

NoOneShotU.3479

So I was leveling huntsman the other night and noticed that Darksteel Warhorns were listed on the TP at 6s with a cost to make around 1.15s.

Thinking this odd I checked the Buy side and most of them were at 60-80c, but there were a couple right around 1.2s

No obviously the taxes would prevent me from creating these horn parts at a profit, but it got me thinking whether or not I should fill buy orders even if I could make a profit. Suppose the spread was 2s by 6s.

Firstly are the horns really selling for 6s. If the average price was any indication they weren’t, so I would be just listing things which were either going to sit there or get undercut.

Maybe the buyer was making horns to sell, or maybe he was just flipping horn parts.

Would I be a fool to fill that order if it were profitable?

At your level you should be entering zones where you are farming iron, seasoned wood, and coarse leather. Level 30-35 items are crafted with the tier you just finished (wool, thin, soft).

This is why I don’t understand why people have a hard time keeping their crafts as they level because the armor you need now is from the tier you just finished.

If you want to get caught up to your level you should be about skill 150.

You need about 300 wood and metal and about 150 leather/cloth to do each tier. As you progress you should get extra of some things and you might have to buy the difference.

Check the TP for Insignia and Inscriptions as they tend to be about half the cost to craft them.

Start here:
http://www.guildwars2-crafting.com/

In the leveling guides he has you making the insignias. If you can buy the insignia cheaper than making them you should. You might have to do a couple extra discoveries to make up the loss in skill points, but just figure out the cheapest route.

Iron for instance is dirt cheep so it makes more sense to do more discoveries with cheaper insignia.

Sometimes it also works out better for what you have rather than what’s in the guide.

Now I’m trying a heal/bomb bunker build that seems strong, but I don’t really care for it. (Although I can solo Veteran Mobs + Adds without it taking 20 min now).

I think i really want a pistol shield build. If this guy above can tank 8 mobs that way I assume he’s got similar survivability to my bomb build but that he can still do solid damage from 10-15 away.

I did read that thread when he first posted it. There wasn’t any discussion about Kit Refinement, and what it does exactly.

These are my issues running dungeons with the Heal-Bomber (bunker) build:

-I obviously need more toughness.
-Being right up in the mob’s face with so many spell effects makes it hard to tell when he’s about to do something really bad, and the range on bombs is tiny.
-People don’t stay in the heal areas so I have to stop bombing to throw Elixer H or what have you. (Main reason I don’t run Healing Turret)

The whole reason I brought this up was that I liked Pistol/Grenades but wanted more survivability.
