Most likely there were a bunch of them at 65 and 78 around the same price because the price is based on that rune. (The gear isn’t wanted for its stats its wanted to rip).
People farmed/opened more of the 78 and started undercutting.
Voila that one is cheaper, but the rune isn’t increasing enough to make it worth it for someone to buy and relevel the market.
It’s an attempt to rope in people like my friend who made a 3 day trial, but couldn’t justify the $60 (with the new added loot grind). They are hoping it would put him over the edge.
If you don’t like the market aspect of crafting, you won’t enjoy it long term. You don’t need it, just sell your mats.
Discovery had so much potential. Were I in charge of it, it would be totally integrated with the loot system to create rather unique items that players might or might not want, but I promise it would be interesting, fun and bring life back to some of the old zones nobody goes to.
I got mine. 6g worth of armor and a 20 slotter, but I’m not crying.
Like anything else if you can buy stuff cheap enough this makes money. It’s not a lot of money. It might even be less money than just reselling the greens you bought cheep.
The Pearl Stinger is cool, but the textures don’t render right for my taste. It doesn’t look exotic to me.
Some people are in a hurry to reach the shiny in the Maw chest. Sadly, they miss out on many golds worth of shinies on the way.
1.5h in dungeon already… kill trash for 20 min and risk disconnect or kill boss?
Yep.. kill boss.
Yep.. kill boss.
Your bank has a slot to put money in. Just use that to transfer money between characters…
“without changing position”.
IE he doesn’t want to run his guy to the bank and since he can put that buy order in anywhere and take it off w/ some other guy at the TP.. voila.
The number of people mining went down when the prices went down. T5 mats are going back down so metals are going up.
I’m obviously missing something on transmutations. I’m guessing you have to use aggressive buy orders to make decent money this way because the items I looked at transmuting were only going to make 12-20s a transmute.
Get on vent? I know our old wow guild was a vent guild. You could spam guild chat for hours but unless it was raid time.. forget it.
What’s wrong with people buying tournament tickets? As long as there is a way to earn them some other way via steady progression.
That’s a buy order. You can place one of those too, but it won’t get filled.
Personally I’m glad people have to work for them. Unlike every other crafted item in this game it makes them rare and special.
Gold sinks need to exist. That’s why you pay for the runes.
Most of the stuff in the gem store needs to be about half the price for me to be interested. I’m sure if it was, I would have spent more RL money by now.
Anyone else notice crafted stuff tends to have higher yields? (Could be RNG I’ve only recorded about 300 salvages).
what crafted items are worth to mass produce in a cost effective way to salvage for ectos?
Whichever one has the cheapest mats. Honestly none of them might be. If thats the case the price of ectos goes up.
In my view Legendaries should be account bound not sellable + SB

Why do you care? I have yet to see one on the TP. Someone is that much more efficient that they could get a spare legendary and a buyer with enough gold to make it worth their while?
Anyone out there with over 1500g that would actually buy one?
Why wouldn’t it be intended that it would be easier to farm gold on your 80 than mats at level? Why are people so adverse to the TP?
To be perfectly honest, if you want to level up crafting as you level you have to use the TP. Sell the excess and buy what you need.
Why not pull of the precision and put power rather than the Tough/Vit.
Knights were a nice compliment to Clerics and now they are basically trash.
I actually got ectos from basic kits yesterday, in fact I got just as many as from master kits, so in the future if I salvage something w/out a rune, its basic kits all the way.
Once you figure out how many mats you need for a tier you can just write it down or follow a guide. The only one that is wierd is the 2nd tier (Soft wood) because for some reason planks made of soft wood take 4 instead of 3, so it takes about 400 wood.
Keep an eye on wood/metal prices as you skill up. I remember in the 3rd tier when i did it seasoned was going for about 41c a stick and iron was 10c. All the guides had me making bows, but bows weren’t near the cheapest. I was able to get a ton more iron and use less wood making pistols/rifles rather than bows.
I think you need higher level stuff to get ectos. They are somewhat random.
There was so much potential in the discovery system for there to exist discoverable stats/looks combinations. We got… figure out the recipes once and follow the pattern.
What if I want to make a scale sword huh, or a ruby infused armor piece?
Thanks. I don’t normally run dungeons on my Jeweler.

What’s wrong with a bit of pattern exclusion. They did it with runes/sigils too.
I know those first few points are kind of squirrly, but the most important thing is to have all the mats before you begin a tier. IE you should have something like 250 copper, 300 green wood, 100 leather scraps
Refining all of this will get you 30-40 points and making the components another 5 or so.
is it soulbound or account?
Other than the Jade guys, I’d avoid melee (read bomb kit/tool kit). I’ve been running it but given your setup I’d do P/S or P/P and condition stacks.
Details, details, details…
Which Rifle is that?
I’ve been using the pact rifle but the new Lionguard Rifle skin matches what I’m putting together. I’m still looking for the right shoulders though.
So much for everything in this patch will be able to be sold on the TP right?
I’d buy it off you if I could in a heartbeat.
Hey at least you can feed Zomoros 750 of the cheapest food you can find along with some wrapping paper and get a new skin for 40s.
It’s only a grind because you’re making it one. Just play because what else do you plan on spending your time doing?
I salvaged about 60 items today using a basic kit and the ectos picked up on the tail end of my salvage, so I’m thinking RNG took a kitten on you.
I also hope this will never happen. If they remove the money gains from the box purchases, they will have to compensate through the item shop. The last thing I want in GW2 is a greedy item shop like all those trash F2P games have.
This implys you don’t think the item shop in GW2 is greedy right now? Personally I know I’d spend money there if everything took a 50% price hit.
I wouldn’t mind if the stats didn’t suck. I personally think char medium looks like kitten though.
I can imagine the whine, but suppose it was “Unlock one of the ancient temples of Orr”
When other mats started rising I bought about 2000 just as a hedge. They never moved so I just used them for crafting. Used the last of them today.
I did see Cured Thick Sections selling below cost once. Didn’t really make sense except people skilling on them and not using them.
There is more gold in the economy, so it takes more gold to get people to spend RL money since they can farm it themselves.
I think you’d want to use only end game stuff.
Crafting mats index et.
You could do a precursor index or something like that as well.
It’s hard to find representative items from each category.
You certainly can wear this armor all the way up. I did the same thing, but did it in greens until I got to 80.
The Rare/Exotic sets are better looking. I still advise you to look it up. (I will say all my heavy armor wearers are male )
My problem with having that much chocolate (suppose for instance its 100k+ bars)
How do you possibly unload it all and make your money back without finding a sucker willing to buy it? I mean sure you bought a lot of it at 13c, but you know you can’t unload it all at 1s? Are you counting on people who are ignorant of the price fluctuations who think that since fine mats and ectos are going up in price that chocolate is too, or that since leveling guides use a lot of it the power skillers with tons of gold who don’t care about prices are going to buy 100-200 at a time? Even so can you possibly unload all that chocolate or are you going to be constantly sitting on a position?
I did costume brawl in rata sum which was a great place since there was no culling.
I went afk in a part of my personal story and I knew I would be dead when I got back. For some reason they never attacked Treahern, so he kept rezzing me over and over. I had a nice repair bill to thank for that.
Sometimes its about PvP. They could be talking about something like my eng has where cleric gear gives me power.
I take a disproportional amount of aggro myself it seems. Bosses usually tend to target melee characters rather than those across the room unless they have a ranged attack.
I’ve never gotten more than 5 logs in a tree. Now I’ve gotten 4 logs and 2 cache before.
Anet hasn’t blown thier first chance. im still loving the new fractals, and working toward getting my ascended and enjoying the game on all levels.
it seems mmo’s have entered the spoilt casual group, those that want everything for nothing, and its the single most devestating thing you can do to kill an MMO. anet did right by giving us very nice content, and something to play for.
Sorry we already had that. There was no reason to make this gear harder to get than anything else. They admit putting it into fractals only was wrong, but I don’t see the hotfix to put it on karma vendors in Orr do you?
