I always just blind them. They do not respawn during the Boom-Boom Baines encounter, so just blow everything at the start on them.
Boom-Boom Baines’ grenade barrage just needs to favor targeting the furthest players since those in melee don’t have time to react to it.
There are many people who are enjoying the Boss Blitz. It just takes a bit of organization to realize the bosses are not that bad and they are really rewarding.
Just turn emotes off when you’re in WvW.
must have missed the memo where spies are not allowed in war. all the whinning about this is funny. Let’s fight to the death but make sure you follow MY rules. if you don’t your a griefer, or a cheater. you should be banned if you do things people actually do in war. You should not be allowed to play if you don’t play the way I think you should. utter nonsense. obviously comments from the no child left behind education system.
I’d hate to break this to you, but this isn’t war. It’s a video game. Didn’t you wonder why your AoE spells didn’t hurt your ally? Weren’t you wondering, “I wonder why my bullets aren’t killing Commander Kittens but it’s hurting Yak’s Bend Invader… Very odd.”
In this video game, the position of the enemy is obfuscated. It’s one of the rules of the game, which are bypassed by spying. If someone in Starcraft II – another video game – was relaying the information of their opponent, which is hidden in the fog of war, they would be suspended because it’s cheating.
I hope I’ve cleared some things up for you since you seemed to be a very confused person. Also, Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny aren’t real either.

This quote makes more sense when you realize he’s talking about himself.

If this isn’t really a troll thread, I have this to say: You have a month to get this achievement. Just because you failed now doesn’t mean you won’t get it. Also, this is not temporary content; it’s recurring. The gauntlet will come back, so if you decide to give up now, you can try again next time.
As a side note, just because you paid for the game and supported the developers with the gem shop, this does not entitle you to everything the game has to offer. It’s still a game, and therefore it has rules which you are not allowed to circumvent by just paying money; that would be pay-to-win. For example: Just because I bought Guild Wars 2, it would be ridiculous of me to expect that I should have the dragon finisher (rank 80) in sPvP. Buying Guild Wars 2 gives you the ability to earn it; it doesn’t entitle you to it by default.
If you want to play in the Boss Blitz, then read this:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/267r7g/blitz_setupboss_guide/
The reward is: 50-55 tokens, 8 champion bags, about 20 gauntlet tickets. This is every 5 minutes as well if you are in a group capable of attaining Gold.
- A Medic was added to revive you after failed attempts if you are alone.
Is this really true? (Haven’t tried doing queens gambit again, haven’t really gotten past my anger from first release
) If so, thats awesome, probably the best thing out of all the changes (at least to me).
It’s true.
What is the optimum number of people per boss to get the gold reward?
Assuming you have 60 players:
Kuraii: 6
Sparcus: 10
Baines: 12
Shurrak: 10
Pyroxis: 12
Wiggin: 10
Tips:
- Boom-Boom Baines has the most trash in the beginning but it also does not respawn. Turret respawn every 40s and can be seen early on the mini-map if you zoom in.
- Shurrak: The birds remain “distracted” for 10-12 seconds per time.
- Pyroxis’ Fireball volley (not the Flame Scythes) can be reflected.
- Wiggin: Make sure you don’t stand in the blinding field.
Summary of GW2 community:
ArenaNet releases a patch:
- “ermagod, ANet only releases zerg content. Zerg, zerg, zerg. 1,1,1,1,1,111111to win. Wow anet, fail”
ArenaNet releases another patch:
- “ohmahgod, ANet is forcing us to split up?? this is bs, I want to farm. Farm, farm, farm. FAIL anet.”
It shows how many kittens they care in case it wasn’t painfully obvious.
The heal turret on Boom-boom even specifically tells you that it heals Boom-boom, and its not even a normal-sized heal turret, its huge. And what do people do? 11111111111 on Boom-boom and wonder why she’s not dying.
For this one specifically, the turret spawns away from Boom-boom. Often the turret spawns offscreen for me so the size is irrelevant. After that, the only indication that the turret is around is a status icon and the purple tether. Both of those indicators are easy to overlook unless one is intentionally looking for them. In the case of the tether, I generally find the turret by simple camera movement than following it.
If you zoom your mini-map in, you can see when the healing turret spawns instantly. It appears as a crossed sword icon in the event radius of Boom-Boom Baines. After the turret dies, it will respawn in 40s so use that to get ready for the next one.
You’re doing it wrong.
What a wall of text. Let me make an easier fix:
Try it.
All waypoints in Divinity’s Reach are free. The Crown Pavilion is in Divinity’s Reach, yet that waypoint costs coin. Why?
Because it’s not a city. It’s an open-world zone full of hostile creatures.
[Snipped some negative drivel]
Or maybe you can actually report some real fixes:
- Fixed a bug where Cosmic Rifts are obstructed by projectiles.
- Dome has been smashed due to the combined rage of everyone’s camera.
- Shadowfall is less shadowy and more orange-y, making it visible on the ground.
- A new character, the Medic, now camps the Gauntlet permanently to progress his Daily Reviver achievement.
However, the ifhgt is even worse than before. It still has the same mechanics and the same idiotic AoE circles on the floor which are just as difficult to see, the idiotic camera angle making it tough to actually see anything. But now we have to put up with the adds in phase one appearing in one place, yet they explode and kill you when they are nowhere near you. We also add to the list the bolts that Liadri throws out hitting you even though they are again nowhere near.
The animations do not in anyway shape or form match upto where the add/bolt is.
I asked in guild chat and I am not the only one who is seeing this. I have an FPS of 45 and a ping of 38ms. Am already getting tired of being hit by not existant adds/bolts.
Sorry, but you’re lagging and you’re blaming it on ArenaNet. Here’s a list of things that they improved from last year’s version of Liadri:
- Cosmic Rifts no longer are obstructed by projectiles.
- The dome was removed to fix any camera collisions issues.
- A Medic was added to revive you after failed attempts if you are alone.
- Shadowfall’s AoE is easier to see now.
Fixed it for you.
If by “organized” you mean “players who have a vague understanding about how the bosses work” then yes.
You’re right, it’s perfectly reasonable to blame people who play the content A) the way they did last year and
the way Anet built most of their content for 18 months C) introducing mega server before people became acclimated to their new philosophy!
This isn’t last year.

Gold tier reward grants around 50-55 tokens, 3-5 greens, 8 Champion Bags, 1 rare, 20’ish Queen’s Gauntlet Ticket, 70,000 experience and 1,500 (?) Karma. Seems like they put the experience of the event backloaded into the final event reward.
It takes 4-7 minutes to achieve this. With a good group, you can win 6 per hour.
As for how hard it is, the bosses are very easy when your group is split up into six. Hell, you can 3 man Kuraii before the gold reward timer is over. Undermanned, they die 10 times quicker than they do with 30+ players. I can solo the turret on Boom-Boom Baines in 5 seconds, whereas it takes a minute to die to a zerg.
The issue isn’t the reward, it’s mostly the lazy players refusing to put forth any effort into earning it. If they want to buff it, by all means they can; the players winning would appreciate it the boost. If you want a mindless farm, just go back to Queensd— err I mean Frostgorge Sound.
(edited by Nokaru.7831)
Do you get better loot for silver?
You get more than double what you get from Bronze.
Bookah’s Guide to Easy Silver:
- Three Commander Tags
- Group 1: Kill Pyroxis and then Wiggin the Wicked
- Group 2: Kill Boom-Boom Baines and then Shurrak the Savage
- Group 3: Kill Sparcus Firesplash and then Kuraii the Cruel
Each group has 15 minutes to kill two bosses, and they leave the easiest bosses for last.
The bosses last year had zero effort put into them. They were buffed up versions of Champions and did annoying zone-wide effects. They spawned two at a time and all of them did nothing. This year there are actual mechanics to them, and all people are doing are whining about the farm being worse.
Also almost every quality of life request was actually acted upon in the Queen’s Gauntlet. The dome was removed, the AoE is more visible, a medic for reviving players was added, and players aren’t obstructed on Cosmic Rifts anymore.
Maybe you guys miss the invulnerable greatswords being kited to the center of the Pavillion, but I don’t.
Donating coin does not activate the Blitz; it accelerates it. It will progress on its own.
The bosses also die very quickly if you aren’t in a map cap blob.
The reward for Obsidian Sanctum (OS) needs to be MUCH higher. A place that used to have some of the best PvP battles in the game is now totally dead. I used to be able to hop in and spend hours there in fun fights, and now there’s just silence all day long, at all hours.
It was nerfed when the chest became account bound. It was nerfed when they took it out of WvW, thus making it impossible to tell people you were offering ports. It was nerfed further when badge farming became easy in EOTM. Now it’s just dead.
Sorry, but how does a team controlling the Jumping Puzzle and offering Portals to the end encourage people to participate in PvP in there? All that did was fill it with the strongest server and a small group had little to no chance of getting to the end.
The jumping puzzle died when they added Badges of Honor to the Achievement reward chests, making it so that players who hated PvP didn’t have to get their Badges of Jump anymore.
Turning Obsidian Sanctum into EotM would also kill the arena they specifically made for guilds wanting to fight one another in there.
Full of conspiracies. I’ve seen several matching guild tags from different sides in WvW and usually they’re just friends dueling.
Except you can duel in the Obsidian Sanctum where it has no impact on PPT.
No the whole mess started because of the PPT system in the first place. That is the root of the problem here.
Yeah because so many alliances existed before this tournament.
/sarcasm.
In case you haven’t figured it out, the QQ over the 2v1 is a good mask as to what’s actually going on.
This whole mess started because of the Swiss matchmaking system. Based on the results of the first week, it was predicted that if this trend continued that one of the Tier 1 servers would finish 4th or even 5th. The alliance that formed was motivated more out of self-interest than spite – although the spite and the complaining is a very good smokescreen.
Over the next couple of weeks, the alliance will just trade wins/losses, ensuring they stay together and secure their positions as #1 and #2 and will continue to do this until the end of the tournament. If you don’t believe me, then here is the roadmap for Tier 1:
4/9/14 – JQ: 22 (1st), TC: 22 (2nd)
4/16/14 – TC: 27 (1st), JQ: 25 (2nd)
4/23/14 – JQ: 30 (1st), TC: 30 (2nd)
Final week will decide which server is 1st and which is 2nd
If you don’t believe me, feel free to check back at this post’s prediction. I won’t edit it.
2. What makes you think this “alliance” is such a cut-and-dry deal and the outcome has already been decided? Both servers have plenty of chances to backstab each other, and I assure you each server has the number one spot in their sights. Nobody is willingly losing the season. The “win trading” is to control the matchups and ensure BG is kept down, but the alliance will dissolve as soon as one party no longer needs the other to maximize their own benefit.
TC cannot beat JQ’s coverage. [MERC] will pvdoor everything down while everyone sleeps. There will be no backstabbing because both servers know who is in charge.
BG has the best coverage out of all servers on NA. I’ve been saying this months ago even when they were intentionally tanking to recruit more guilds. You want squash any momentum BG has from the start, but by 2v1ing JQ, TC has essentially made BG stronger.
Hey look, a whole lot of nothing with no evidence. For those of us that actually like to live in the real world of data, take a look at the Millenium WvW Matchups. If you look at the weeks and months prior to the tournament, BG did not do well. For the first week of the tournament prior to the alliance, it was a close matchup. (35k difference)
The problem was that this swiss tournament punished the 3rd place team so much that JQ/TC panicked and formed an alliance so neither would get 4th. The end result is that NA gold league is very boring with little fighting on all fronts.
I see no evidence of 2v1 here. The map you linked has JQ with 1 tower and 1 Supply Camp, which is pretty standard for JQ.
Nope, that’s not a legitimate reason to demand a change, sorry.
How about if myself and a buddy of mine kick you from a dungeon right before the end so we can get our guildmate in? Naw, that’s never happened in the entire history of the game – right?
Also, griefing is still grief. Just because you cannot solo a dungeon and sell it doesn’t mean you are devoid of empathy for someone who can and is then griefed.

News flash: It isn’t GvG. It’s death-match.
Has anyone noticed that fighting Tequatl is actually a bit harder than it used to be? Well, that’s because they increased his health/toughness.
That’s not what happened. The megalaser is supposed to knock off like 5% of Tequatl’s health but lately it hasn’t been doing that.
You say that but don’t give a reason.
Reason is: That’s how it works now, and it’s working fine. We don’t have to give a reason to defend a system already in place. The burden of proof is on you; not us.
As a tip: “I don’t like how it works” is not a compelling reason. Neither are unsubstantiated claims of “So many people don’t like it!” either.
Creatures higher level than you critically hit more often, so the reverse is likely also true.
I wonder how downscaling and upscaling is factored into this. For instance: If you are downscaled to level 75 but are fighting a level 77 creatures, will your critical hits be reduced? It would be harder to test against something lower level than that due to the scaling of Precision. Also I wonder if the reverse is true: If you are level 15 and are upscaled to 80, will creatures have a higher critical chance against you?
(edited by Nokaru.7831)
Power, Vitality, Precision.
Why is there no exotic version of this stat combination? It’s common up until level 70+ and then it disappears. I would have found this to be a useful set on my Elementalist until I got comfortable enough to fights in Berserker gear. Knights gear is not a terrible alternative, though it’s not perfect.
Condition Damage, Precision and Power would be another good addition.

Community isn’t just guild/friend list. Community is essentially everyone on your server, and that is being messed with.
One of the most exciting aspects of the new system is that it gets you playing with members of your home server more often.
Is Guesting going away then? Because that’s the only way I see this could be true.
The megaserver thing just seems like it’s turning all maps into what we know as Overflows but with priority. However, just because 40% of the people on the map are from Anvil Rock, it can be potentially filled up by players who aren’t.
Is this going to hurt communities like Desolation when they are going for world first kills on megabosses>
Couldn’t agree less. A simple iteration over a simple theme. It’s not composition.
Everything Jeremy Soule makes sounds like it’s from Skyrim.
Very few things he did with GW2 were original, he just iterated on what he composed years ago in GW1. Because of his lack of variety, I have no musical association with any of the GW2 dungeons. At least the music for the Breachmaker was memorable because it was unique.
The thing I associate with Soule for GW2 was the old login screen music from the beta weekend events.

The only waste are the extra dyes since it seems they’re compensating players only with an Unidentified Dye.
As for your Legendary Weapons, they can hardly be seen as a waste. With regards to your dual Incinerator, they still are statistically the best weapons in the game with the functionality of being able to choose your stats. Furthermore, you can just trade them both to an alt if you want to try them out. (Like an Elementalist)
It’s not an equivalent exchange if your character isn’t 80.
The Transmutation Stones are for gear that is 1-79. Not players.
You should just count your lucky stars they convert at all. It’s an option for players to participate in the system without having to spend gemstones. Instead, you can make a new character and do map completion in the cities.
I have no idea why you would complain about this considering you’re a self-admitting level 80.
all this where suggestions we have given them for years thousands and thousands of time. And the worse part is how they narrate it on the patch info…
Yes, why didn’t ArenaNet just hit the button on their desks labeled, [DO EVERYTHING]. The fact that it took this long makes it seem like it took programmers, testers, and designers months to develop these new systems which we all know is definitely not the case. We have confirmed it through the power of the scientific method.
I mean, I typed this response 2 years ago:
Nokaruanet plx fix ur game ty.
Look how easy that was… They should pay us for this feedback.
(in fact an armor shift helps them more than it does an Ele in toughness gear because it has a greater proportional impact. Ditto for HP normalization vs. vitality gear)
I think we should listen to the OP and reduce base health by 30% so a Berserker Elementalist can have 7,000 hp at level 80. Problem solved!
Here is my counter-offer:
No.
Any argument for or against this is irrelevant because the designers have stated that the AoE cap is never going away due to performance issues.
Or change Sigil of the Night.
In before Headshot spam.
PSA: In almost every game ever made, skipping mobs is the quickest way to complete anything.
) If so, thats awesome, probably the best thing out of all the changes (at least to me).
