Generally,
you’ll learn howto survive by doing/ dying. Vigor helps (Dueling 5) alot. As utilities you can use decoy and blink.
The defensive weapon would be Staff, but you need to preserve staff #2 and cast the #5 upon yourself and stay inside of it.

The most PvE players run Phant builds (followed closely by shatter) with GS & Sw/[x]. Sword is just stronger and also gives you another evade. GS is for long range fights. All this including berserker gear, ether feast and no restorative mantras. The great survivability of mesmers comes from perm vigor, enemy reading and reflect.

You need to distinguish those achievements.

  • “Jumping puzzler” is achieved when you reach the chest of any JP (or pretty close to one).
  • “Jumping puzzle discoverer” is achieved when you find the start/ beginning of a JP. You usually need to “find” three different JPs for the daily one.
  • “Monthly Jumping Puzzle (12)” is achieved when you reach the chest of twelve different JPs (there’re 45 in total).

There’s also an aftercast to every attack. it’s not listed anywhere, but you’ve just realized it.
Maybe it’s also like the mesmer’s scepter #1 based on the travelling time of the projectiles. Wile the arrows of warr lb #1 is far faster, ou may notice a difference on atkspd if you’re closer/ farther from your target.

Remember that you only get the 10 AR from the weapon when it’s your active one. If you switch the weaponset (maybe even bundle), you “lose” those points.

You seem to have misunderstood the trivia of this part, Donald.

The seals do not regenerate themselves, but get filled up by mobs. So you kill a single mob on one side (well … to be sure, you don’t kill one) so it gets healed less and you can run there without getting hit by 10 mobs. At the same time you guard the other side and continuously aggro the mobs, so they don’t heal the seal. That way the seal you’re guarding will not be regenerated and you continue to hit them alternately.

I don’t know how the developers thought this should be solved, but making the party run from one side to the other or guarding both seals at once would be a bad design once you reach lvl 20+. The amount of mobs and their strength simply forces you to guard a single seal.

As the topic has been answered already, I still think I gotta paste some information for the OP

Vague rules of efficiency of sigils:

And also:
It “doesn’t” matter in which hand you put in the sigil. If you put it into the focus, it also triggers with sword attacks or Mantra of Pain. The sigil becomes an attribute of yourself, not the weapon. That’s also why it doesn’t work with illusions.

As for Swap, it worked on release, so I suppose it has intentionally been nerfed.

Well, I’ve calced a bit, too. Not gonna post some pages with sub-results, but the final ones. The settings were

  • Rarity: Rare, Exo, Ascended (full set each)
  • Prefix: Zerk, Assassin, Dire (only malice)
  • Traits: 20/20/20/20/20 (200 pow, 200 prec, 200 malice, + 20% crtdmg)
  • Foods, Infusions, Buffs, + x% dmg: None
  • direct damage formula: pow * wpnAtk * ((1-crtChance) + crtChance * (1.5 + crtDmg))
  • condition mix: 10 bleeds + 1 poison + 1 burn

Results

  • Zerker
    • Rare to Exo: + 25.1% dmg
    • Rare to Asc: + 42.7% dmg
    • Exo to Asc: + 14.1% dmg
  • Assassin
    • Rare to Exo: + 24.3% dmg
    • Rare to Asc: + 42.2% dmg

Conclusion:
Direct damage get a bigger boost. Conditioneers/ Bleeders get a far smaller boost than zerkers and assassins. the bundle troop (conj ele, kit engy, phant mesmer, minion necro) are pretty much in the middle of that. They don’t benefit from the + 5% weaponAtk, but do get the triple stats – unlike conditioneers.
But you have to keep in mind that conditioneers usually get more toughness (or vitality), which makes them a bit more resistant to direct damage/ condition damage. It won’t balance the 10% difference, but at least a bit – assuming they directly fight each other.

But as always, ANet is telling us to use Zerker and nothing else.

  • Protected Mantras
    was useless before, is still useless and moved to master tier …
    Let’s assume I’d have 2000 defense. Getting 600 toughness while casting would make an effective reduction of 23% … it’s not even protection. Since it’s master tier now, make it Aegis or Stability with a reasonable duration (3s) and reasonable CD. Remember that even if it’s grant you perm stability you’d still have the aftercasts and would constantly busy with casting.
  • Mantra Mastery
    Well, I think this is meant to make mantras a bit more attractive. Don’t think it’ll work but those with PvE mantra builds might like it (I’m not sure if it’d change anything for me)
  • Mender’s Purity
    Interesting change, but as mantra user this already was pretty strong. Now I’ll be at 3 heals and 4 conditions removed with a 12s cycle.
  • IC
    This is also an interesting change. I might test 0/20/0/30/20 now (instead of my current 10/20/10/30/0). It’ll lower my phantasms’ strength, but increases recharge and atkspeed. I’d also lose the auto-regen, power and boon duration. The first 10 points in illusions is pretty much pointless for non-shatter builds like mine, but I’ll test it.
    Why is a phantasm trait in the shatter line anyways? …
  • Scepter
    Since most are not satisfied with it, the question is if you’d be willing to sacrifice the clone generation of its autoattack. I don’t know if some shatter builds use it at such. But creating low-hp, long range clones next to the target is questionable anyways.
    As a complete rework, I’d probable remove the casttime of the last hit (#1-3) and give it [Combo: Projectile finisher], which is inherited by the clones. As compensation the #2-2 skill would need to create a clone, too.
  • Mimic
    It is indeed rather misused as originally intended. Maybe give us a third utility phantasm/clone. And to combine it with the word “Mimic” … “Creates a phantasm/clone which looks like your opponent (even to his teammates) and attacks it with its own #1”.
    Or “Creates a clone of yourself which attacks with your #1. All damage dealt to it will be copied to its target”.
  • Confusion and Retaliation
    Increase their damage in PvE to 300~500%

If if two members have a disconnect, you’re unable to kick either?
Or, you’re in a 4man party you can’t kick ? You have to invite someone to kick another, but then are stuck with the new unkickable guy?

The current sstem is the best trade-off of advantages and disadvantages. Try to join dungeons (and be the bad, unkickable guy) or play with friends.

Bitmap can only store 8bits per pixel per color. So it’s resolution within a pixel is fixed at the current minimum (for desktop PCs). If you want to manipulate pictures (2D designers), 8 bits might not be enough (due to rounding).
That number isn’t fixed for JPEG (or TIFF).

The resolution of pixels doesn’t change between BMP and JPEG. A 1920×1080 picture says a 1920×1080 picture, regardless of the file format.
So saying “3. BMP formatted images have a higher resolution than JPG images.” is either wrong or just interpretable in various ways. The one saying “better quality” is the one they tried to explain in other words.
So if you really “the sources, I trust”, you wouldn’t try to get my comment, but quietly thinking that I’m wrong. Now you unfortunately have to decide.

GMT didn’t specifc daylight saving times (DST) because it was older.

UTC clearly says to add the DST to the value.

Saying “they only wanted to ditch the name so greenwich isn’t the center of the world”, would mean they they’d set UTC+0 into the USA switching DST when they change their clocks.

It ended in Europe indeed, but it didn’t end in USA yet. That’s why I said the difference is usually 8h, but right now it’s 7h. And in march it’s 9h.

It doesn’t change the fact, that you constantly have to calculate the remaining hours to your timezone. It’s also pretty much the opposite of “QoL”.

There’s a reason the standardized UTC notation has been made (unlike GMT). Using it shouldn’t be hard and we don’t always have to know where the server is located, how many timezones are between and if the DST is currently applied there.
But we all know how globally the USA is thinking.

PDT is usually UTC-8 (GMT-8)
but it’s currently different due to DST.

Weaponary infusion slots are tied to the ascended stats.
If you transmute a skin to an ascended weapon, it’ll still have its additional slots. Though, I don’t know if it might clear them. I inserted infusions after transmuting.

Btw, it’s not the resolution, but the detail. BMP isn’t really good in terms of quality either, but the most basic format without any compression/ loss of pixels.

Generic Condition Damage Application Question

Conditions can be separated into two categories and two subcategories (each)

  1. Damaging
    1. Intensity stacking (Bleed, Torment, Confusion)
    2. Duration stacking (Burning, Poison)
  2. Non-damaging
    1. Intensity stacking (Vulnerability)
    2. Duration stacking (Blind, Chilled, Crippled, Immobilized, Weakness)

And Fear is a special case.

As Carpboy said, malice (old name of the stat condition damage – used to not confuse with bleeding’s condition damage) only affects the first category and conduration affects all.
As example for malice’s influence on the condition’s damage I’ll post the formula:

  • (0.05 * Condition Damage) + 42.5; per stack per second at level 80

Hint:
CD means CoolDown, not condition damage or condition duration.

First off,
saying “I can play other games well” is never a reason another game should run as well. While some games use the same/ similar engines, most do not. I’ve not heard of any engine used by ANet for GW2 (exc havok for some small effects), which pretty much means you can’t compare it to any. A 2D chess game may run worse than G2 and FarCry 7 might run better.
Compare it to “I can use the train to go over 100 km/h, so I should be able to do the same with my bicycle”.

The blackscreen issue you explained, does indeed sound like an hardware issue. Surprisingly it also occurs with a second PC.
Still, as an “expert” in software and hardware issues, I’d recommend to completely uninstall and reinstall the game if you haven’t yet. If you have, you need to check your computer’s hardware.
Blackscreens with audio loops are rarer nowadays. Overheating CPUs usually results in automatic shutoff (not shutdown). Overheating GPUs may result in bluescreens or blackscreens. Same with Sound issues and drive issues (or bridge).
So if you’ve completely reinstalled your game already, please update your sound driver and GPU driver. If it still occurs, try to get tools to read your systems temperatures (CPU, GPU, Board, Drive).

For the GPU temperature I recommend MSI Afterburner, since it can display the values directly into the game.

You might also try to run window mode to bypass any screen issues.

As they also implemented dual-infusions, I don’t see a big reason not to get a second sigil slot …

I’d agree with detonating turrets (F-keys). It’s more like an engineer attack than a turret attack – similar to shattering illusions counting as mesmer attack.
But turrets attacking or being attacked should be credited (as for tagging mobs) to the engineer but not trigger any effects.

Yeah, devs have claimed to be looking at the shard inequality issue.
But another issue (for me) would be that dungeon paths aren’t supposed to be shorter than fractal shards. That’s the reason you have to run 3~4 in a row.

And you seem to have mistook my suggestion as well.
I meant to say that when I’m in FotM and the dredge shard would’ve swapped with the SE3 path. So you run your regular 3~4 shards but the current SE3 would be a shard. And the current dredge shard would be used kitten path 3.

Balancing dungeons should’ve been done long before granting 1g per run. Skipping mobs and such should never been possible; while granting some freedom (not forcing the devs solution to puzzles). But even without any skippable part, CoF1 would be shorter than every FotM shard 10+.

I understand that you don’t want to lose your 1g + 60 tokens for 10 mins of work, but compare it to the dredge shard.
When I run FotM26 I need to clear four shards for 100 tokens, karma and 0g. If the dredge shard is in there you can calculate with 90~120 mins duration.

While the karma is nice, you need 10x the time (and difficulty) for the same or double amount of rewards. That’s unfair.
Yes, you can get Fractal weapons there, but they consume a transmutation crystal, they are really rare and you can’t even choose one. You can exotics in dungeons, too. And you can buy exotics from dungeon tokens. What can you do with fractal relics if you got all backs already?
The only real reason would be ascended boxes. Their drop rate is super low and with random stats (RNG^2). It means that farming the mats and crafting it yourself is way faster and you get the stats you want.

So … why go FotM when you can run 4 dungeons in the same time ? (CoF1, SE1, SE3, HotW1, CoE1) 4g and 240 tokens instead of 100 cheap tokens and karma.

Aren’t dungeons supposed to take more time than a single FotM shard?

Basically what the topic says.

I got the idea from another thread, but decided to make a new one.

As you all know the CoF1 rushs and the dredge shard. You get 1g and 60+ tokens for a 10 min run in CoF1 easy as soloing a veteran; but when entering FotM and getting the dredge shard at lvl20+ it may take more than an hour to complete it. Its design (losing players for steps to open doors, bombs, rabsovich – basically almost every stage exc the endboss) is “horrible” and definitely not fun (exc the endboss). And what do you get for it ? 10+ fractal shards and normal mobs loot.

Is it actually meant for FotM shard to be considerably longer than complete dungeon runs, while you get gold for dungeon runs and RNG^2 for FotM ?

So I’d like to see shorter dungeon paths to be somehow replaced with longer FotM shards.

It was the 6th effect which suddenly broke at some update. But it’s been fixed for some time now. And they also fixed the ICD to actual 10s.

But I was talking about the first two runes anyways. We now have access to three different runesets with + 15% boon duration at the second piece. No need to use lower graded runes.
