“We are now! We are forever!”
“We are now! We are forever!”
I don’t think that type of thinking can be applied now.
Gaming has changed. The things that made GW1 successful back then might not work now…
“We are now! We are forever!”
In addition to this, how about a Guild Bulletin board in Guild Halls too? Sometimes GMoTD is not enough space to write announcements especially in highly social guilds.
Well the “Guild Bulletin” would probably be overlooked by the members the way the Msg of the Day is after a while…
but back to the topic…we really need a Guild Mail…
“We are now! We are forever!”
Hello everyone.
I don’t remember if i brought this up on the forum in the past and i don’t see any similar active topic about this.
I (and i am not the only one, probably) need a Guild Mail.
The feature to send a mail to everyone in the guild not having to write a mail for every member might be one of the most important feature for the guilds.
I had to take a break due to work so i couldn’t play GW2,after few months the guild became full with inactives. Now i am back but to be able to get more members i have to remove the inactives and i have the “custom” to send a mail to every member to let them know that they are welcome back anytime.
The current Mail System makes it frustrating to do that,i have to write 50+ mails and since i can send 2-4 mails before the “cooldown” kicks in…you can imagine how frustrating that is.
What do you think,do we need a Guild Mail?
“We are now! We are forever!”
I’ve been a guild leader since october…or november 2013 and i always felt we miss some things.
The first thing i noticed we miss is the Guild Mail.
A Mail that can be sent by the leader or the members with the privilage,to all the guild members, how time aving would it be to be able to send a mail to all the guild members than sending one at a time.
Now about guild alliances.
Some time ago when my guild became important enough to be noticed,i met some other guild leaders,we played together, had fun together and because…life…after a while we didn’t have that much time to play the game so we wanted to merge the guild but we didn’t want to give up on the name of our guilds(mergining meaning everyone leaving a guild and joing the other guild) we spent so much time and effort to make our guild name noticed so in the end we didn’t merge.
The perfect solution for that would be an alliance and an alliance chat where we would feel like we are in the same guild,in the short time i played gw1 and some other games with alliances…i see no negative thing about it.
So,what do you think?
Would alliances and guild mails bring something good to the game, because that’s the point,to improve everyone’s experience?

Do you know about the UI toggle? It has a complex default keybind (ctrl-shift-h I think) but you can set it to any key you like. I use F11 to have it near PrintScreen. One quick tap, UI is all gone. Another, and it’s back.
As a bonus, you can even fight that way if you remember which hotkeys do what.
Yea….but to have it on …auto and to have only the minimap remaining on the screen while not in combat…would be nice.
“We are now! We are forever!”
So long as it is an option, sure why not.
Imo….with the cam changes we can see stuff diferently….why not to see more of those things…and yea…to have the option to turn it off and on would please everyone i think.
“We are now! We are forever!”
Hi guys.
Been playing this game for while…long while and with the camera changes i had one idea.
Not sure if the idea was “pitched” on the forum yet.
So:
When the char is out of combat, the skill bar and some other stuff can disappear,(like the windows taskbar if you set it) and it can have an option to check it or not…if you want it like that or not.
Gw2 already has a “clean” interface but im this will make the game more immersive.
What do you think?
“We are now! We are forever!”
Tbh….you choose to stack so many bags,is not like you can’t open when you get them.
“We are now! We are forever!”
You have no idea about it…we barely got some info from what was revealed and you make a thread about it…
Idk why would someone take you seriously…
“We are now! We are forever!”
Imo,that’s the way lanters look in this game,i learned to accept the things the way they are and not to complain,at least when is about stuff i can avoid by not buying. So if you don’t like it…don’t buy it.
“We are now! We are forever!”
I smiled like a little kid alll the time.
I’ve been with you ,Anet, for more than 2 years.
All i can say is :
Thank you!
I feel rewarded! I love the game but this is like “You played the game for so long, this our way to thank you for being with us!”
You have my heart and my soul.(and my money )
“We are now! We are forever!”
Be happy with what you get not whith what you wish to get but you don’t!

“We are now! We are forever!”
Hi guys.
I pvp,not much but sometimes 10 + matches daily.
Since last week i probably won 2 out of 10 matches….yea that bad.
Now i am wondering ,is the matchmaking broken?
I played with classes i don’t play that well,is true that i was playing bad some times, but i was capturing and all that sutff,i was not playing good with the class but that doesn’t mean i don’t know how pvp works,i have enough awareness and some experience.
One bad player in a team of 5 is not like 5 bad players…and it seems i was always matched with 4 other inexperienced players and i don’t say bad players, they didn’t know how to react in some pvp situations where pvp players with some expereince would know.
One week where most of the team scores are 100-500 … i never blame game systems but this time i have to because i don’t understand what else could be the problem.

I played some games with weapon dyes…and watching ppl running around with pink swords and bright colours just makes me go on a different channel if the feature is available…
Maybe to be able to choose from 3-4 tints derived from the original colour would be nice,to be able to choose a steel look….or rusty….idk…stuff like that.
“We are now! We are forever!”
Pls stop posting in this thread so we can see it go…faaar away….
“We are now! We are forever!”
…i think this becomes common,i heard a Skyrim soundtrack in a fb game.
“We are now! We are forever!”
I wish you all a better and healthy new year , full of happiness , tolerance (especially forum ppl) and love!
Anet, thank you for the awesome game you created,i wish you inspiration, creativity and success in the new year!
Thank you everyone for being a part of this amazing game,a part of my life!
Happy New Year!
“We are now! We are forever!”
Now that’s how you do a legendary. Awesome graphic, AoE effect, and it speaks!
The particles…voice…are nice but the model looks bad, nothing legendary about it.

I think everyone agrees that we need more content,EVERYONE,i don’t know someone who woudl say “No we don’t need content”…and i don’t say that.
BUT WHAT I SAY IS :
We don’t need it delivered in big chunks 1 time a year or 2 times a year.I just want to see some content not catered to the 9-5 Dad that only plays 2 hours a week.
I think that’s my ( and quite a few others ) main issue with the game; that there’s little-to-no challenge. And the few areas that even remotely require players donning their thinking caps, are less rewarding than just spamming 1 in some zerg. If ANet opens up Cantha, or Elona, or even the rest of Tyria with more of the same issues that’s been repeated here on the forums and reddit hundreds of times the past two years; yes, people will eat through the content, and be back here kittening about it.
I thought i was that good so everything felt easy….you just ruined the little world i was living in….
On a serious note…yea stuff seems to be easy but the rewards you get fit the difficulty level.
Gw2 was never focused on hardcore content….you don’t go in a theme park to do math…not sure yet if it’s a good thing or a bad thing.

BUT WHAT I SAY IS :
We don’t need it delivered in big chunks 1 time a year or 2 times a year.I certainly agree with this. What I (at least personally) would like to see is something more akin to Firefly/Serenity (RIP sadface)
6-8 months of LS release, followed up by a “movie” expansion that builds on the prior releases with an epic ending. Most stories are 95% build up as far as I can see. People love the buildup to something if it’s delivered right.
If they had two teams(which they sound like they do), one for LS, and one for the expansion sized content that they release in chunks. They could begin a season with an expansion and then havethe other team take over to do the weekly cycles while the expansion team works for the next 9-12 motnhs.
Not a bad idea,as long as they don’t stop the LS flow,a big chunk of content from time to time would be nice, but if they stop the LS or the 2 weeks…well a montly release would be good as well, that would have a negative impact on the game.
“We are now! We are forever!”
To my knowledge, which can be summarized as reading 80% of the posts on here, there is pretty much nothing that can satisfy this community. Literally something always has to cause conflict and several rage posts. To add to that, most of the forum posts that do offer criticism, don’t offer it constructively. There is a lot of “This is the last straw Anet”, or “Does Anet even care about their players?” on this forum. We get patches every month! And in the last 2 months, its been twice a month, which is absolutely insane for a game. Obviously its a continual learning process, but I don’t think most of you actually take the time to appreciate the immense work Anet puts into the game, part of which is going on the forums listening to you guys make lousy complaints.
I’m bored. had a beer. I’m going to leave this here. Not for the reasons you think though…. This is from a year ago.
(Sorry for using you as an example Skylight)It’s because it highlights the way some players, while previously championing the ANet cause, have become a bit jaded. I agree it’s time for an expansion. Maybe not right now, but if Anet were to come out and say “We are hoping for an amazing addition to our product in 2016 that everyone will love, although it may cost $x amount” then it would quiet the fears of a lot of people that are worried the current content is becoming stale.
lol. Because I gave the LS a chance? Ye I used to think the LS could be a very big thing. Ive been proved wrong. I gave it a very fair chance for its content delivery and can objectively say it failed.
subjectively*

Players simple want this.
A standard quantity of content(gw2 is subpar right now)
Something different than 30 minute personal story instances and an open world map per 3 monthsI do not say that more content is nice, but coming with an expansion it will dmg more than help the game,if the stuff is realeased likethe LS,every few LS a new map….or after finishing a season,a race/class,map….whatever…but adopting the expansion (once every xxxx months content) will not benefit the game.
“I do not say that more content is nice” You say this as if we have a lot of content already lol. Well however you feel, you are of a small minority who is okay with the small amount of content. For people who have 2 hours a week to play, it probably feels right.
An expansion can in no way damage the game. It would only make ti grow. It will bring old and new players back. One thing is for sure. What is happening right now in gw2 is hurting the game. Thats evident from the NCsoft reports on Anets quarterly income.
Not sure where do you see that i “say this as if we have a lot content already”…maybe you have a point of view that can see stuff i don’t want to deliver.
And i played daily since november last year, before that i played but with breaks.I know the content this game has.
It’s true,it might get back the old players…but for how long? How long will stay those players after the content is consumed knowing that you ahve to wait anotehr xxxx months or an year for a new content? In the long run this will dmg the game,it will get some players back but for what price?I know i will get bored to wait that much time and i’m sure i’m not the only one.
And you say “Minority”,that’s so wrong, the players who are happy with the game are playing the game, not checking the forums, the ones that are not happy are on the forum creating “We need an expansion threads”…minority on the forum….You’re the minority because statistics show so. Reddit gw2 had a poll of some several thousand participants. Nearly all agreed to the need for an expansion. Why? Because of the lack of content delivered. Its that simple.
I barely use the forum…almost never reddit so imagine those who don’t use the forum at all why would they use reddit…i might go to the extent to say the players who don’t even play much the game use reddit and forum…or maybe not,i don’t know, but seems like it.
If they would make an in game poll, then we would see who’s the minority
I can guarantee youd still be the minority. The forums/reddit are the only means in which people communicate their desires towards the direction of the game. Without it, anet would be mostly in the dark. Big changes have been made to the game throghout its history because of the voices of the forum/reddit population. It obviously shows that Anet has to trust the these sources.
How many people complain and have resonable complains about new changes, all that shows how trusting the forum is flawed but sadly but there aren’t other ways to do it,they should try in game msges maybe….idk…because the forum is one pile of “if that’s my point of view everyone shold have that point of view”.
“We are now! We are forever!”
A better question to you OP is.. Are you going to complain and quit if Anet releases an expansion?
I somehow highly doubt (call me crazy), that’d you’d complain or quit at all. I’m sure you’d be happy with it.
I’ll also ask you this; is giving players additional things to do a bad thing? Would it not make the game more appealing to new players?
Who said that i would quit, but who knows what i will do after i finish the expansion content and have to wait i don’t know how many months for new content…

Having threads made to basically get the “yea,we want an expansion” players together has no room for the ones who oppose the idea,so having a thread for the ones who don’t want an expansion it is a good balance.
Until all those “X-pac or GW2 will fail” folks flock into the thread and turn it into yet another thread on the topic that has been debated over and over and over and over.
All we can do is to give valid reasons why that’s wrong since this thread was made to drawn the players who can see why we don’t need one.
But sometimes is hard to make the blind see…Your thread title is already challenging the pro-expansion crowd to join in the debate. "For all those “We need an expansion asap!”" I don’t see how it was meant to draw in players that don’t want an expansion. Either way, yet another expansion thread. It gets old no matter what side of the fence you are on.
Then what are you doing here if you have nothing to add to the matter, nobody needs your opinion in this thread if has nothing to do with the question asked in it.
You didn’t ask a question. You posted your opinion on a topic that is currently being discussed in two threads already on the front page. I’m here because I’m tired of threads being posted several times a day on topics that have been beaten to death. It gets old. If you have thoughts on a topic that is already on the front page you should post them in that topic. Your opinion is not so special that it warrants yet another thread on the same topic.
Not sure what makes your opinion special then…..

I went for the looks and i made an ascended.
“We are now! We are forever!”
Hi.
I invested in this game a huge amount of time, started playing more than 2 years ago and i still love this game almost like it’s the 1st day i’m playing.
Every single day i can see “We need an expansion if we don’t want this game to die” threads but adopting the expansion system, releasing substential content every year or even 2 times a year, because good expansions require time to develop, will be this game’s doom, downfall, death…however you want to call it.
Why?
I created my guild 1 year ago,i’ve been in guild alliances,i interacted with a huge amount of players in the years i played and from that experience and my experience i can answer.
-Gw2 is not like other games,is not a game that keeps you plying for the best gear…to farm and raid countless hours to get that piece of armor,to kill that boss countless times for the weapon that’s essential for the progression.
-Gw2 focuses on you having a good and enjoyable experience playing in a beautiful environment without the need for hardcore farming or the hindrance of the other games.
-Gw2 was created like the theme park ride you enjoy and want to never stop but at some point stops, even if you do it several times.
Now to get straight to the point.
-Players are leaving and playing other games during the living word breaks and coming back to play the next chunk of content release, some stay more, some never leave but many players are finishing the content in few hours and then complain how short the content was and that’s nothing else to do and ask for expansions,if this game had the progression other games have, heavy grinding, hard leveling heavy….whatever, the things would be different.
-But i want to ask you,how many players will stay in this game after finishing the expansion content, how much time it will take for the players to get bored with the expansion content, let’s say that it takes…i don’t know,1 month (and that’s a stretch) to finish the new “dungeons”,to level the new race/clases to unlock the new armors/weapons,to starte at the guild hall,to do GvG,to explore the new map,to finish the new story?
The way the players rush the content…it will take less.
Players are getting bored and leaving in the 1 or 2 weeks break, but how may will get bored in a 5 months- 1 yer break?
(Sry…this is kinda long, but thank you if yout take your time to read this and maybe you can prove me wrong.)

No….just no…let’s all run around naked killing stuff…gloves….understandable….helm and shoudlers…udnerstandable…but the rest…must be there….
The human queen and several norn Wolfborn walk around with no shoes on, so there’s an in-game precedent for people doing just fine without shoes.
Everyone can unequip the armor and run around naked….or without boots…but no…..

I never afk….too busy with stuff but i have to say….if i decide to stay in the same place for 24 hours….1 week….1 year and do not move is nobody’s bussiness,if i don’t use any exploits , botting …whatever…I really hate how the people focus on what others do and less on what they do,mind your own bussiness…
1) The argument can be made that leeching with one’s animal companion is, in fact, an exploitation of a game mechanic that was never designed to be used that way. (Leave it to the gaming masses to find a way, right?)
2) If a character is scaling an event in any way and is not helping with said event, yet still receives equal reward compared to those that are actively pushing that event. Yes, then it becomes other people’s business. If you’re afk in some dark corner on the map, I personally don’t care, but others may even go so far as to say that you’re taking up a slot that one of their friends could use to actually PLAY on that map. Again, their business. You may not like it or agree with it — that is fine — but it is what it is.
1) I do not use exploits,i like to help everyone around me,i can think that i am a nice person but for the sake of this argument i say this >>>
How can you say that’s exploitation since was the same from release…you could leave your pet and go afk near any event and get reward from it if the pet attacked, because the ppl are now complaining about it doesn’t mean that is a new thing and how can you say that is exploitation….makes no sense….the pet is killing mobs who are attacking the player, sounds ok to me since that’s what is supposed to do,and people are getting mad for 2 crests…i don’t get it…envy?! becasue they play and do a lot more crests by not being afk…?!
2) If i am afk at a place and i am scaling an event i might be an @ss but that doesn’t mean i don’t have the right to be there and that goes for the friend’s slot…i payed for this game like everyone else…i think i can stay wherever i want whenever i want…
I do not do the stuff i said above but it’s my point of view on this situation…i think the players should stop looking what others do…

Insulting GW2 has the opposite effect you wish to have, explaining why GW1 is superior to GW2 and not just throw words is a better way to get the attention you want.
I played GW1 and is not ranbow and puppies….
All i see in this thread are people who experience something called “Nostalgia”.
Guild Wars 1 was a good game and for some people GW1 will be superior because of the nostalgia but gw1 today is nothing more than an outdated game with clunky animations, fetch quests that send you miles away with a slow speed,in gw1 you walk more than you do something else, outdated graphics and model design and so on,but this doesn’t mean that gw1 is not appealing or that is a bad game,i like some of the outdated armors and weapons and the story…The story is nothing special, generic fantasy story but with a nice “skin” on it and enjoyable.
GW2 is a superior game in every way compared with GW1 and your nostalgia might be too strong to see that…but if you consider gw2 this “trash” game,i don’t understand why you are still around…
Have Fun!

Hi guys!
I can’t find the Guild Halls official thread….as far as i know there was one, searching is not working for me.
I don’t care that much about guild halls or player houses but i had an idea,i can’t check if someone else had the idea….since i can’t find the thred.
IMO the best location for a Guild Hall would be Hall of Monuments.
Leave all the npcs there, make it upgradeable….well to improve it and can be something like gw1 hom….or a bit different where trophies can be added from killed bosses(loot) or “guild hall achievements”.We already have the item to go there, make it guild based…
Now about player house. Just make an upgradable house in the home instance…not an instanced house ,an open world house in the instance so everyone could visit it by joining you in the instance.
(off topic…we need an alliance system…at least to have an alliance chat….i have many “friend guilds” and we talked about merging…but nobody would give up 1 or 2 years of hard work on the guilds.)
I am sorry if this is the wrong sections…or stuff like this has been said before….the search function is not working for me.
What do you think?
