Skyhammer hammer damage

Hammer damage needs to be adjusted. Fixed damage of 8892 that can not be blocked or dodged is overly punishing for classes that have low hp pool. It is 82.29% of base guard/ele/thief hp. And still over 53% of hp of class that got 20 pts into hp tree and hp(zerker) trinket.
While we have to run away from hammer attack high hp pool classes such as necros or warriors shrugs at the damage – it deals only 48% of their BASE hp pool – with traits and gear probably around 35% which is huge difference.
Decent solution would be setting damage to be % of maximum hp. Set it to 40% and be done with it. Everybody suffers equally

Ele can be good in sPvP and WvW roaming but they are not the best profession for that. They shine in PvE and WvW Zerg. Its ok, the Thief is good in sPvP and WvW roaming but bad in PvE and WvW Zerg. Every profession have its strength and weakness, they can all participate in every aspect of the game, but they don’t need to be all equally good in each part.

Being good in pve doesn’t make up whats so ever for being barely viable in any kind of pvp.

I’m playing ele both wvw and spvp and usually I do decently well in 1v1 or small gorup fights – on account that most players are bad. But there always will be a thief to jump you while you’re at 70+% hp and one shot you. Or warrior will face rush hit you with endure pain hit you twice with melee swing for 2k then suddenly one shot you.. Few days ago I ate 12k Evis from warrior in spvp – yes that more then ele base hp.
I also ate almost 8k point blank Rush followed by few Whirlwind Attacks each 3-4k(wvw), before that happened I managed to catch that 3 sec window of no stability on the warrior and comboed him for whole 9k dmg which came from 3 45 sec weapon cds, one 15 sec cd and 32 sec utility to ensure the 15 sec one hit- because by that time warrior already broke the stun and tried to move away. I say ele is balanced Kappa

Warriors have too much healing without the loss of damage suffered by other classes. Warriors should not be able to run knights or soliders and maintain a high level of dps.

that’s the issue, it feels like they are running knights and soldiers because of how though they are… yet they are running zerker hence the damage

I hit rank 4 necro with full whirling axe for 11.2k dmg. I followed through with evis for another 7.4k. I swapped to sword and with leg specialist immobilised them and got final thrust in for 5k. In 8 seconds I did 11+7+5=23,000+ dmg…

You have just killed ele twice there… Not op at all

you talk about warrior and ele alot, now it looks kinda like this:
warrior in zerker gear got 20k hp ele in pvt/knights got about 17k. Warrior hits ele for 7.5k eviscerates and 5k triple chops. Said ele can combo warrior(when stability is finaly down) for about 8k and that puts most of skills on cd. That might not seem so bad(it is). But if ele geared like said warrior that 7.5k hit would probably be closer to 10k which is what would be hp of that ele in zerker gear.

Other example: Warriors and eles got similar mobility one little better then other but lets say its marginal for sake of argument.
Imagine warrior being jumped by 2 other players he tanks the few hits, pops 2 cooldowns and maybe gets away with 3k hp.
In same situation ele would not even get to pop his cds(zerker) because of ultra high burst that is currently present in this game, the ele could go bunker gear but then his damage output would be minimal and survivability only barely better then that of zerker warrior(if at all).

The point is, with current game design of high damage, classes with with low health pool are at major disadvantage unless they can “diappear” if need be(thief, mesmer) – though if caught off guard same holds true. Balancing low health with in combat sustain simply doesn’t work if you can die in one or 2 hits.

But if that’s true and they did license forum and modded it then wtf has happened there when the decision which one to pick was made? Did they not test it prior? Did not research it?

My point still stands, why would they pick crap soft and mod it to point where it is still not usable instead of picking

Just use google like I do. Make sure to put gw2 first and you’ll see a bunch of posts on your topic. Google even let’s you search by date too.

That’s not the point. I feel that forum is integral part of service they provide and as such has to work properly – it does not.

Why would they even try to develop their own forum solution when they obviously do not have means to do so properly? It lacks usability, features and these that are here do no work.

Just suck up your pride anet, get one of
already well working available solution and mod it to your needs, that would have been easier and probably cheaper if that was done in the first place

Anyways, since early beta I’ve felt that UI was lacking in both quality and customization options, there are 4 things that are biggest issue (for me):

1. Combat log.
As is, combat log is close to useless, it is hard to impossible to recognize source of damage(wvw).
It is impossible to recognize moment of getting downed – no indication.
It does not show boons(pop up and fade off), same goes for disables and conditions.
Worst of all, what good is any combat log with resolution of MINUTE? seriously? SO much can happen in minute it is impossible to determinate what has happened. Resolution of one second or less if possible IS A MUST.

2. Clusterkitten in top right corner needs to go.
It should be possible to easily enable/disable what’s is shown in there – including ability to COMPLETELY remove it. Some of us do not need or want it there. It only takes space of screen and distracts, which is especially bad for lower resolutions/windowed.

3. sPvP Vapour form in Death breakdown…
It is not source of damage that contributed to my death, it should not be there. All it does is take place of something potentially useful – though that whole “what happened to me window” is just about as helpful as combat log.
What good is TIMEline that does not show TIMEspamps? seriously get a grip.

4. Backpack size
Sometimes inventory window size get serest to small square box(about 6×6 slots ), problem is hitting escape after bringing it size to desired values does NOT save it. you have to click small X in corner which is slow and counter intuitive – both methods of closing window should work the same (save size)

There is more to kitten about when it comes to that sorry excuse of interface but these I feel are most pressing issues.

Since you decided not to allow player base to mod the UI, you should at least provide feature complete, working, fully functional, polished UI. Instead you gave use one of the worst interfaces I’ve seen in any game. This is far cry from what should be expected of high value, finished product.

Here is good idea, while you’re at it why not make the search engine case sensitive? That would be fun!

I’ve actually logged it to make good, thought out, constructive post, but that kitten search box kittened me off so much I don’t even remember wtf I wanted to post about and I am not one to get kittened off for no reason, so go figure.

stacking duration up to five times is over kill, make it up to 3 times and it still will be stupidly strong. In fact it already was on par with stun when it wasn’t stacking. w/o proper DR system you can just lock somebody in place till the end of times. not fan of this change

As in title, as of now rocket kick is useless against anything that is moving due to your character stopping to play kick animation -> target moves away -> miss 9/10 times

For some time now I’ve been getting randomly hit.
The hit would not register in combat log most of the time, would usually put me into combat though.
It usually happens after getting killed in hotjoins then porting to base, standing in base or as I leave i would get hit by something, no one being around. Happens few times a day

Now when one tries to search for anything and stops typing for moment for w/e reason query kicks in and searches for unfinished question - wouldn’t be much of problem, but due to that it drops focus of textbox.

Why are you trying to use some fancy cometlike thing, that is out of place, instead of simple search that is both more convenient for user and causes less stress on servers?

This revive bug is annoying, ETA?

I ‘ve noticed that when I equip any kit in Heart of Mist as engi then my Hero shows that I’ve equipped pve weapons. I don’t think it affects sigils that are being used (I retain my offhand sigil bonus even with having no offhand weapon at all in pve – lvl 1) still quite annoying and should be looked at.

This might have been reported already, but you know search doesn’t work.

Scorpion wire tends to bug randomly, sometimes it gets “Obscured” on open field, or even if it connects it fails to pull just knock target down in spot(on even ground). It would be nice if pull skills actually worked and were reliable. They are cool and they are good, but for many they are not reliable enough to justify picking them over something else. This applies to scorpion wire and necro skill spectral grasp or something

would not be much surprised if it was another thing caused by de-sync. You run near edge, you fall down you die(server side) but on your screen you’re 5 units to the right so still on hill… and bOOM dead.

I wouldn’t be much surprised if it had something to do with server lag. I use V to dodge – not double-tap. Happens sometimes during pvp/wvw fights where I turn around a lot.
If for some reason I dodge and server thinks I’m facing other direction still then I do on my screen weird dodge might happen. This might be some client-server sync problem. Maybe even related to other bug I’ve posted before where fast movement skill teleport you around – also probably because I see extrapolated effect on my screen, then server synchronizes me back because he’s slower then I am then teleports me back to destination location because he concluded I should be there awhile after me.

so guild wars changes audio output device on whim.
Example:

GW2 settings: Realtek HD Audio
Windows7 default: Realtek HD Audio
- everything works fine

change windows default output to C-Media
-everything works fine gw2 outputs to Realtek HD while everything else to C-Media

change windows default output back to Realtek
now kitten goes all wrong here: suddenly guild wars 2 decided to output all sound though C-Media device (gw2 settings says realtek and windows says realtek)

To fix sound I have to change output device in gw2 settings to anything else then back to device I actually want it to output to, or to Default which is not what I want to do.

I did report that during one of BWEs or early after launch...

I know hot join spvp is supposed to be not serious, casual but as of now it is frustrating with one team (blue more often then not – thx for pumping all new players into red team anet) losing badly, players hooping in and out to force autobalance so they can join the better team.
Random unorganized games would be fun. But they are not when you either dominate other team or are stuck in team with less players getting stomped. Not to mention that this environment is hostile to new/inexperienced players.
I know not all matches will be balanced but right now its out of hand.

Also please don’t tell me “go play tournaments for balanced teams” because that doesn’t cut it. They require team to be successful, can be tense and more time consuming (gathering people takes time and is pointless if one wishes/got time to play one one or two matches).

Here is my idea of fixing it

1. Separate players in each room into three groups: Players, Wannabeplayers and Spectators.
-Players can not choose team they are in – this is to prevent all “good”/expirenced players grouping in one team
-Wannabeplayers who can choose team they prefer to join(but are not guaranteed to be placed there) in case spot opens up once game has started, players will be only added if it will result in teams to be even
-Autobalance as we know it will trigger only if there are no Wannabeplayers available
-Player can leave game midway, which will result in some penalty and will be placed in Spectators group
-Spectators may not join game once it has started – this is to prevent players hopping in and out to be placed in winning team
-Players that have finished previous game have priority to joining next one over others, players that left midgame got lowest prior if allowed to join at all

2. Rework join game UI:
-Display (right away not “on mouse”) Players, Wannabeplayers and Spectators count/limit
-Two joining buttons for each room: “Play” which will put players into game or into Wannabeplayers if there is no room in game and “Spectate”

Penalty for leaving game should stack.. a lot.. exponential or so. Starting low because kitten happens then growing rapidly so player feel he’s punished

ok Gnat how about this: I only like to do wvw and spvp but I want legendary, since I don’t want to have ANYTHING to do with pve world I demand alternative way of getting required items without leaving spvp and wvw. With your reasoning that would be only fair if it was possible.

Since EBG puzzle has been separated from EBG it would be nice if we could queue for it outside of ebg. Make it not queue-able if we do not have keep, but for kitten sake there is no reason to sit in 3h queue just to run puzzle and kill some ppl on the way.

Guild Wars 2 is supposed to be highly social game, It would be nice if we could enter mini games such as Brawl, Dragonballs, The RaceThingie, SnowWannabeTF2 etc as group – not even necessarily as team.
Playing with/against friends is way more fun and often more challenging then against some unknown nobodies.
I understand concerns that team join could make it exploitable to gain profits, but then again if you disabled any profits from people that join as group, it could give us potential to hang out and do stuff with friends and guild..

I would like to use Guild backpack skin in spvp, actually I’d rather use same skin without guild emblem on it, but since it is not available in pve in that form I don’t expect it to be available in pvp, though backpack itself is very nice item and it’s shame it can not be equipped in mist ;/

is there any good reason behind putting all stats into amulet+jewel instead of adopting system from pve?
With same system as in pve/wvw we would have more power over stats we pick and their proportions. With more flexibility we could min-max, fine-tune stats to best match our playstyles, trait builds and roles we are playing.

Justification: Not everybody wants to be watched, especially not during new build testing, practicing new combo or just playing “lolz spec”

Signet Mastery elementalist earth II trait doesn’t affect Signet of Restoration
Signet Mastery does affect “Aura of Restoration” timed buff provided by “Written in Stone” trait.

With master signet of restoration got 25 sec cd instead of 20, with written in stone trait elementalists only maintain 20 secs out of expected 25 of signet passive.

I did check signet mastery reduces cooldown of warriors healing signet therefore i see no reason why i should not work for eles

this bothers me as well, anet wants to “tone down ele healing” to level of what other classes have, except they seem to have missed fact that we’ve got that healing because we’ve sacrificed 20-30 points into healing trait line

basically they want healing orientated build to heal as much as utility/damage builds of other classes… good thinking anet (actually it’s not – just saying in case you though I was praising you)

as in title, why the hell do spvp matches even start if teams are uneven?(normal spvp not tournaments).

Seen this a lot there are 16 players at the end of one map, two of them leave before next game starts, countdown for new match begins while there are 8 players in one team 6 in other… then autobalance kicks in like 15 seconds after game started, portin some random poor sob to the spawn, often the lone guy who runs to close by point… ruining his effort and teams recognition of “run to target”

Lately it’s been happening to me a lot, that instead of porting to targeted location blink fails and I remain in initial place or port me under textures. That happens usually if I teleport between 2 objects like ground -> bridge or ground-> high ground.
Most notorious example is blinking to high ground from graveyard point in Legacy of the Foefire.

Blink also fails on smooth terrain if there is separate object(even very small) in the way – for example kerbstone like thingies in Spirit watch renders blink/lightning flash useless.

While idly running in LA I’ve noticed strange behavior of “Ride the Lightning” sort of teleportation bug.
Basically it’s cast finishes in one place, then I am ported to other “alternative finishing point” – I can move from that point normally.
However if I don’t move but use “Updraft” instead cast and destiny location is calculated from point where the RtL actually ended.
Seems to me like some serious inconsistency of location saving/calculating.

I believe this is the same issue some of us exigence in heavily populated areas, where “fast moving mobility skills” (RtL, Moa 5, warrior gsword charge dash thing) sorta jerk around teleporting us instead of providing swift and smooth movement.

New Thief Trend in WvW

I’ve seen same things very often: catching some enemy (any class, not only thief), constantly attacking him and somehow he is just disappeared from our screens.
If it was Alt+F4 – we must recieved exp reward and bags, but we are got nothing…

Happened to me few times as well, Guarians and warriors just disappearing… what’s more bother some is that they reappear ~10 sec later… I don’t think it’s hacks but another culling issue that makes enemy disappear if “too far away” although they were no further then 300 units away.

I am not saying that hacking doesn’t happen though, some time ago(around month ago) I met speedhacker in wvw and one knows it’s hacks if can’t catch up to “running” enemy with RtL
