One balance patch every half a year is not nearly enough, to ever come even remotely close to anything resembling iterations got to be way quicker, I’d about 3-4(tops) for major patch and way more often for game breaking things that require hotfixing(PW thief/warrior last patch) – 2 weeks at most.
Also remove that abomination, sorry excuse of map you call skyhammer. I will never believe that majority of players like that map, I have not seen single person on forums that do, and I’ve seen a lot ppl ingame that hate it, only handful that are ‘neutral’ and even less that like it(few decap engis)
So I’ve destroyed these automatic cannons in field near red base… instantly turned around in pursuit of some prey… and just as i got away from the cannons(about 300 units) I ate cannon ball shot from one of the them. Srsly wth? They should NEVER repair themselves unless owner changes(color). Idea of these cannons even being there is bad, but them having auto repair that’s almost instantaneous is just asinine.

there is nothing new about this build and the video is pointless. If you actually want to make good video about ele go play few games make some good plays then talk over them and explain what happened what and you did and why.
Just lost game 481-500 because was forced out of it for almost a minute(relog with slow loading + re position) because Lightening Flash ported me INSIDE of a cliff in Legacy, I’ve reported that before, I’ve seen other report this. It is frustrating and game breaking. I was around since beta.

dishonored debuff is not enough, also should have way to report afkers at spawn.
I always make sure to tell ppl with dishonored debuff that they are scum
latency &| servers being slow, sometimes burning speed will do that, sometimes it will teleport you back to your starting place… sometimes this will happen if you try to chain it with lightening flash like… you use both cooldown but you don’t actually move. same can happen with RTL it will port you back and forth and you end up somewhere in middle between starting and correct ending locations.

Ofcourse thief went far, i had to stay back on close and help other guy cap it, so our guys got outnumbered on mid and died, even tho we went from close to mid and wiped 2 of them we still died in the end because our pro thief was dpsing enemy bases door and then got killed by the guys we wiped on mid.

Why not just go afk if there is thief in enemy team? You do that in other situations, why not this one?
But I actually agree that thief needs redesign, it’s been mentioned in 10k other threads so in short:
-imo stealth needs counter or something to stop thief from spamming it
-attacks without or very low cooldown should not be evade at the same time, evade should not be spammable – no initiative is not stopping either of these regen is too high/cost too low.
No stealth is no balanced because “you can’t cap in stealth” – thief will wear you down quickly, kill you then cap or force one to sit on home for whole game while thief roams. if somebody rotates to help battle is lost in other place and thief probably still got away and is just waiting to decap again – lose lose situation

you should take ranks into account anyways, do NOT let people with ranks < 10 into solo queue, let them do team q sure its team decision who they bring, but in solo we should only have players that actually played the game before.
Also why work on it now? It’s been reported problem since solo Q has been implemented and the patch bringing newbs into pvp is already here, damage is done…(not saying you shouldn’t still fix it, just saying it should have been done WAY earlier)
The reason why this “toxicity” happens is because MMR is non existent and whole system is flawed.
Everybody should play hotjoins till they get hang of games objectives and pvp fights in general. What happens though is people with no clue, often refusing to listen to advice jump into solo queue and with this broken MMR get put with the these that play for win and not some silly pve rewards and actually committed time before to learn the game.
It only exists because the target was also built as a glass cannon and had insufficient burst protection.

yesThieves punish and counter-play pure damage or burst based builds. If you didn’t play one of those builds then the thing you claim is toxic wouldn’t exist. Essentially, players are just mad another player is doing to them what they intentionally built to do to other people.

no, you will still eat 30%-60% hp hit while not being able to deal any damage
Now when it comes to thief, they can go full zerker, no toughness but they will still have survivability similar or greater(depends on class) due to high amount of stealth and disengage abilities, sure they can’t cap points like that… but then again if they jump into fight and kill somebody instantly with their unavoidable attacks then they don’t need to disengage or go invis.

More like are hard counter to high burst classes/build without having counter to themselves. Maintaining higher burst and higher survivability and not suffering problems other classes do all that with same/similar stat/trait investment.
I hope it won’t be available to get in future. A set for these that put time into pvp before merge would be nice, given that so far pvpers were getting short end of the stick
Agreed with OP. Such high, unavoidable, no risk damage should not be in game. And yes it is unavoidable in most scenarios you’re on point either guarding or fighting then you lose 50-100% hp depending on class and build which puts you instantly in defensive else you die in following few seconds – which you will anyways in many cases. it is unavoidable because you can’t possibly see it coming invisible/steal from around the corner. You can’t dodge or block or blind something that you don’t know that is there or where it is.
Some argue that it’s alright because you can’t cap points in stealth… well guess what you don’t need to be in stealth if enemy on point is dead
How do I ‘get the stars to align’ to do 14k with one hit with my Ele?(Who has no invisibility mechanic and less armor). Oh that’s right, I can’t.
phoenix+electric discharge+arcane wave,blast+fire/air sigils+lightning flash+air2 scepter +rtl= 20-25k in 1sec.
Ele with such setup WILL die to first backstab or be so low that wont survive long enough to get the combo off

Removing it is unnecessary, it might not be suitable for solo queue though. Even better would be to improve the way crowd control works, making it balanced and more skill based, but that’s probably not easy at all xD
Totally removing it is unnecessary, BUT it is necessary to remove it FROM solo queue – it’s cancer map
i’d rather have a complete revert, or have the cooldown reduced to 30 seconds AND be unblockable and remove cripple, chill, and immobilize when you use it.
1200 range 25 sec cd unblockable ignores(does not remove) movement imparing effects(slows/immob) ONLY if used on with target that is in range

Just because the Internet happens to be a bit unstable from time to time (I’m sure everyone have DC at least one time) still makes this a bit unfair to get banned for 2 days. and I know that it stacks up and stuff and that you will be able to play again after the timer hits 0 but still… 2 days is insane.
I’d say that penalty for leaving game is not enough, first 3 leaves within 1 day = 2days ban, next time you get 4 days ban and – 10% of your gold, then 8 days and 40% gold. This would put stop to afkers/leavers ruining game and wasting time of 9 other people.
So basically what your all saying is “People with internet that disconnects often should not be allowed to enjoy core gameplay or else they will get banned from said core gameplay” This is so unfair. I am taking part in the tournament of legends in 9 days now. Now my internet messing up has lost me 2 days practice. This is wrong, and unfair, and unreasonable.
I’d phrase it differently.. like so “People with internet that disconnects often should not be allowed to ruin gameplay for others”. Sure one DC can happen ever now and then, but if its often then get better ISP, it’s your fault not your team mates or opposing team, and they should not be punished for it.
So why can we no longer see ranks of our/enemy team after match is concluded? When I’m stuck in one sided match for either my or enemy team I’d like to know if these players that seem clueless are actually very low rank – which could be good explanation.
I suspect it was disable to cover how broken match making is, which would be even more obvious with flood of “fresh blood” in pvp.
Now how is it anet? and can we have them back? Alternatively show us our and enemy MMR
I have got over 250 Glory boosters and other random crap that can’t be used on its own that got shoved to me instead of any meaningful reward from every pvp chest. Now with change of system instead of just deletion of them I expect these to be refunded with something actually useful like gold or gems. It really would not be fair to just delete “rewards” that we have been getting for months/year+
This one is funny. When first nerfs hit were announced for ele I remember pointing out that it was stupid for because:
-anet created ele in such way that low hp/armor was supposed to be balanced by high healing/condi removal + mobilit/range depending on weapon set.
-ele were running 30 pts in water – anet somehow figured that even so they actually should NOT be healing more then other classes and have good condi removal even with these 30 pts there.
so they nerfed condi removal and healing to point that most classes have w/o heavy trait and gear investment…
Another “awesome” change was removal of stun breakers from some cantrips and nerfing mist form to the ground rendering it totally useless in most circumstances – our only good heal atm is also most devastating one if interrupted and it is easiest one to interrupt in the game.
This was done in the name of build diversity, as few other skills received stun breakers instead…
Ofc this could not have possibly worked seeing how other skills were just bad to begin with and do not have good synergy with weapons/traits and adding stun breakers wouldn’t help all that much – all that was achieved was nerfing the only actually good skill set.

I know we can’t always fulfill all the requests we get from our players, but we do the best we can to!
Some things can’t be fullfilled sure, but there are things that are essential and HAVE to be, yet are ignored, like that broken imitation of search box.
Given that ele needs positioning and some skills such as Burning Speed or Churning Earth are hard/impossible in certain situations to hit w/o LF I’d say reducing its cool down to 30/35 sec pre trait would not be op – seeing how it is no longer stun breaker.
Armor of Earth, Mist Form, Arcane should should not have cooldowns longer then 1 min, possibly shorter given how squishy eles are.
Also elite that is you know… actually useful outside of pve would be lovely.
Oh and fixing RTL so it actually is useful again would be good step too.
These changes would have been way more useful then adding dodge to BS – which is often used on stunned target anyways or blast on Frozen Burst which usage will put us on heal and/or condi removal CD.

this would be great, sure every class can get stability but thats not good enough, for most classes it will be something like 8 seconds of stability on a 1 min CD, for the rest of the time are you expected to be a ragdoll?
diminishing returns are a MUST
8 sec on 1 min cd?! this is madness! I have 6.5 sec stability on 90 sec cooldown! Guess my class! Hint that’s with 10% boon duration modifier

Yes at this point I am 1 dodge short, and will eat either immobilize followed by 6k+ arcing arrow while eating crapton of condi dmg or dodge immobilize and still eat arcing arrow and crapton of condi dmg+point is lost. Either way its lose, same thing happens if i pop my stability ill get point blank immobilize + crapton of condi followed by hammer stun spam when stability fades. Either way I die/lose point

Somebody decided it was bad idea to reward players attending spvp, so they have removed all rewards till 15 april
Ele: Whenever they are in water form im pretty sure they are just immune to conditions completely.

That’s one of most kittened up things about thieves, they are likely using Rune of Lyssa rendering Tempest Defense useless. They will just pop the basilisk, steal → BS/pistol whip with 5 sec stability for whole duration of Shocking Aura…
Same thing happens with all pull abilities.. but it doesn’t end there. Actually I believe it to be the same issue with some of movement skills. This happens a lot while using RTL and Burning Speed, especially if you add lightening flash to burning speed.

By more complex game play, and less effectiveness for twice the effort ie. it isn’t compensated at all. Devs do not play ele and have no clue about them
So how exactly is this change going to compensate for over month of no rewards in spvp?
This has been asked for months, especially by elementalists whose elites are useless, or close enough, compared to utilities – pvp wise.
We removed glory and match reward chests early to prevent a flood of PvE players from coming into PvP just to fill their wardrobe. While the our team would LOVE everyone playing PvP, some super smart economist peopleguys said it would have negative repercussions on the in-game economy or something.
It’s really unfortunate that we had to do this, but we explored other ways of handling it and nothing was really feasible except holding wardrobe back until the next feature pack (which also meant holding back lots of other PvP changes) or removing some of the PvP rewards for a month.
Edit: Tune in this Friday for news about the next phase of the new reward system.

Really appreciate it, though you guys need to work on how and when you share info – the way it was done, as in we didn’t get proper info at all, was not all right and many of us felt screwed by that change. You can directly join a custom arena from anywhere. You do not need to be in the Heart of the Mists anymore.
Dueling is often used as kind of time killer while waiting for something. Be it event, somebody to log in or w/e. Leaving your current zone just to duel will likely place you in over flow once you are done – hence wasting time.

Diminishing Returns on every control effect.
Knockback/pull could lose some of range every cast up to complete immunity.
Same goes with stuns, slows, snares. Been saying this for over year now.. DR is what is needed.
First and most important also easiest fix == if initial countdown (1 min 30 sec) passes and both teams are not full match will be canceled, no penalties to anyone.
Second fix – punish players for leaving ranked matches – atm the punishment is not nearly enough. Just don’t make it stupid, allow one DC every X time – kitten happens.
Look on the bright side least you got compensated with cool stuff, Rangers got compensated with a f2 mechanic that took them more than 1 1/2 years to fix…..
These cool stuff we got are not these that we need. Ele still will have same problem, either wont be able to survive or wont be able to do any damage
As Roy mentioned in another thread, all the current traits will remain unlocked in PvP, even for new players. It is only new traits that need to be unlocked, and you will not have to PvE to obtain them.
Also, this system is designed for horizontal progression. Unlocking traits, or what have you, won’t (at least shouldn’t, barring any balance issues) make you more powerful, they simply give you a wider range of builds and allow you to better tune your character to your play style. Many, many successful games ease players into options, and, in my opinion, trait unlocking isn’t any different.
I am happy that you are active on forum but this statement is completely opposite to what was promised when it comes to spvp.

If player A has more traits to choose from then player B, player B is in disadvantage if one of the missing traits turns to be stronger then other available, or necessary for build fitting meta. Your point would only ever be valid if all permutations of all possible builds were equally powerful in the same settings(meta+role). That is not possible and so gating some skills and traits does put new players in disadvantage – given that the new skills/traits are actually worth picking.
Hot fixing should apply to everything that breaks game, be it because of kittened up design or bug.
Hot fix means – “quick update outside of regular update schedule” so yes healing siginet defo. meets criteria of hot fixing.
Saying no rewards anymore is hyperbole. That suggests we are not adding a system to replace the old one, which is not true.
And yes, per Colin’s blog post, we’ve now released that the Feature build will be on April 15!
