Duels in the open world are much more fun than spvp imo, you can spectate and you fight with your own gear and hard-earned skins, not some generic armor set given to you. We want to duel our friends in the open world and its a shame that Arenanet doesnt get it… renting a private server is NOT the solution

Sure it can be done in sPvP as well but there are some minor differences in stats and skill effects in sPvP. And frankly it’s just easier to organize and more fun to do it in WvW with more space for spectators.

People go to Jump Puzzles because it indirectly benefits WvW with the seige blueprints. Well Dueling also indirectly benefits WvW in that players learn their own toons better. They can better understand CC’ing, dodging, self-combo’ing, etc since they see the direct results against their single oponent, rather than just throwing AOEs in a massive zerg and not seeing who you’re hitting and how it effects them.

I’d say a group of 10 experienced Duelers could kill a zerg of 20 “WvWers”, even better would be a group of SPvPers against WvWers, as you probably seen in that 4v30 video by Team Paradigm

You think too highly of sPvP players. Every time I have done sPvP, I get accusations of hacking because I stomp them easily. I face better fights in WvW, than I ever did in sPvP, the ruleset that HAS to nerf everything so they can deal with easier stuff.

Killing PuGs with a premade group is easy too. Now if you want to post a video of a group on group fight between two premades who’re good, I’ll watch it.

Thanks I wouldn’t consider myself glass cannon, I use Knights gear with 2800 armour and 24k HP, endure pain + shield stance. I think it’s a middle between power/defense

For anyone interested, there’s a Dueling group called A R E N A that a lot of people on Tier 3 use to organize duels, it would be nice for us to get players from all Tiers on it.

Did they say they will have new legendary variations with the next big patch in Jan or Feb ??

Also, Frostfang could use some shine to it, maybe blueish cloud like corrupted or ghastly. From a distance it looks like a malformed corrupted axe without the particle effect. And why are the ice footsteps so small compared to the huge blotches from Twilight?

I’d just like to report that the new culling system seems to be a failure. There was only 2 of us in an enemy map, no other allies in sight. Yet we ran into a zerg of 15+ without seeing any of them until they were right on top of us.

Neato. Maybe there will be a crafted verson of the ascended trinkets with the same stat groupings as the current craftable exotic trinkets.

well they have same-stat groups as ALL of the current craftable rings EXCEPT for emerald rings (power/precision/toughness). I can only assume this was an oversight and they forgot it >.<

I’ve done Fractals to level 5 on my Guardian. I’m finding that sometimes I’m in groups that need to mix up the composition a bit, and I can definitely help by switching to my Warrior (who is also lvl 80 full exotic) but unfortunately the Warrior is only at level 1 in fractals and can’t participate.

What are your thoughts on making Fractal Level account wide?

The vast majority of the ones agreeing are not posting, they just had a smile after reading the news and are playing.

I’m one of those people who welcomes to ascended gear. The reason is simple, it gives me a new goal to work toward.

I’ve reached the end’est (yes I made up a word) game you can possible be at.
-I’ve done sPvP to rank 28
-I’ve got 2 lvl 80 Characters
-I’ve got the commander tag
-I’ve got full exotics for both my characters
-I’ve got a legendary weapon

For me the only things to do now are: sPvP or WvW.

This ascended gear patch will give me a reason to do more PVE and also gives me a new goal to work towards

Had a good 1v1 with an FA warrior in HoD BL today (forgot his name but had a Twilight GS). The first time like 4 wolves interfered lol, and you almost got me the 2nd time.

Anyways, I hope DH players will learn from this match, alot still need to learn alot. One of them should also be to not run away or quit when things get hard, we dont need those kind of players in our corner, please transfer, which Im sure you will.

Had a lot of fun tonight doing 1v1s and 2v2s on HoD Borderlands

I’m a warrior with 2900 toughness and 3100 power, I can deal with thieves no problem when it comes to combat. However, the situation in the video is not combat; All I would be able to do is run around auto-swinging my sword hoping to hit the thief to bring him out of stealth

(the poster actually found an EASIER way to perma-stealth after posting the video)

So, a couple of these thieves can basically guard a camp from being taken for god knows how long, not to mention a team of them could be sitting in a tower/keep after you take it and you wouldn’t even know until after they ninja it back.

I may have to roll a thief for the kittenngiggles

Probably in other places as well, but so far I’ve only noticed it in various portions of EB Jumping Puzzle.

Never had crashing or any sort of issue before.

Now my game crashes at random, with the error being a Login Error, mentioning something about authentication.

I have top of the line computer and all updated drivers. This issue began happening today after the WvW reset.

If that’s the case, I don’t know why ANet wouldn’t be up front about it. Rather they are saying “oh it’s a bug, we’re working on it”

Quite sure they are made this bug intentionally, though the reason eludes me. If this was a real bug they would have fixed it by now.

I am in the process of creating a GW2 tournament website, with cash prizes, rankings, leagues and ladders. Something similar to Arenajunkies.

I am looking for a tournament organizer. This is my definition of a tournament organizer:

- Has extensive experience in online tournaments & leagues, in FPS or MMORPG games.
- Is able to advise on how to structure the tournament mechanics, ie: how to match up, how to calculate rankings and points, etc.
- Can speak fluent english

The position will be paid, but I have yet to decide if I’ll be able to pay right off the bat or when the website picks up a little.

Only thing I can say is, you always gotta be moving. You have to have planned 3 steps ahead, and 80% of the time you are running with your Map screen open. Once you take a supply camp, you need to know where to go right away. As soon as you stop somewhere for longer than 5 seconds, people start questioning you “why’d we stop, why are we stopping, lets go, blah blah” and you start losing your zerg.

If your group wipes, you get kitten. If it a large group without a commander wipes, it’s all haha and let’s try again, but if a commander was leading that group …. then there’s a singular person to blame.

It’s a lot of pressure. At least you get good karma and xp

Simple question, would I be able to my legendary weapon in spvp? or at least the skin? I really hope the epic journey to getting such a weapon would pay off in all aspects of the game, including sPvP.

Has this issue been fixed yet? Can we get a reply from Arenanet pls

Unfortunately I don’t have Rift. I usually just go afk and grab some food or other, but if I eat Every 45 min I’m gonna get fat -_-

I’m not here to complain about DR. I just want to know how other people go about “resetting” it faster. I usually get hit by DR within 45 min of karma farming in Cursed Shore. Afterwards it takes anywhere from 15-45 min to reset again, as far as I know. Any tips on how to reset it faster? I’ve tried switching maps, restarting game, etc etc.
