I think Anet should consider removing the time gate on weapon switching, and allow for a more fluid gameplay – simply allow everyone to swap weapons at will. Remove every “on weapon swap” effect in the game. Consider displaying the cd on the second weapon set with icons above the currently selected one(s).
That would make for more fun imho.
It’s just another one of the artificial time sinks that plagues this genre, and it sucks.
For now, Ryzen users would be wise to experiement with manually setting the affinity when doing intensive tasks such as gaming.
Read my sig, I’m using Process Lasso, a superb tool for just about everything cpu related – highly recommended.
I’m mostly interested in HOW you got hacked in the first place OP.
Fern hound traited with Natural Healing and Invigorating Bond is pretty kitten nice as a secondary heal, that also heals allies within range (300/600) for 4030 (iirc) directly plus the regen. Unlike moas, YOU control when to heal.
Chess is already in game, you just need a guild vault.
Post of the day, +1!
Issue (with using “witcher3.exe”): Lower max fps. Have yet to try any other whitelisted executable, may improve with any of the others (see list @ link in previous post).
GoE should definitely not be a blast finisher or it would get nerfed beyond recognition to compensate for already doing everything a skill can do on a crazy short cool down.
And speaking of short CDs, a blast finisher on maul with a 4 second CD?
This.
Outside of the CA version, the skill can shine in some scenarios, since afaik it have no ICD on damage dealt. With lots of rapid incoming damage, be it small ticks or none at all if negated through SoS, you can melt enemies fast.
Still, those scenarios are too rare.
Trying it with the same setup as you Kishkuma, I experience the same issue. Sorry, haven’t found a solution for it yet.
I’ve tried it, seems to work just fine so far (I used “witcher3.exe”).
Of course there could be some issues with this, so try it at your own risk.

Also if you block with GS 4 some Attack and you Jump, you Will not do the knock back and instead you Will block for the full duration.
That’s a nice tip that I didn’t know about, so thanks.
Ok, so if I understand you right, you’re using your laptop to control your dekstop computer, and GW2 is running on your desktop computer?
I’ll give that a try tonight. The test I did I was sitting by my desktop pc with the game running on the desktop pc, and controlled and used the laptop for websurfing and such.
Will report back.
Thanks for putting in the effort for this!
So after the last changes to ventari revenant that legend it is not anymore an constant healing but a burst healer that can cast up 10k AoE heals every 2 seconds
I’m very interested in this build, can you share it please?
Just tried it. Game’s running on the ‘main’ computer, not the other computer that I’m controlling with MWB. Windows 10 on both machines, GW2 running in Windowed Fullscreen Mode.
Can from this limited testing seamlessly swap between the two computers without any issues.
It’s been a long time since I used it, but I think I’ll install it tonight just to try it out with GW2.
Anyway, just a question, do you play GW2 in fullscreen mode or windowed mode?
Edit: Also, you might want to check out this webpage if it has any info on it (if you haven’t already) – https://getsatisfaction.com/mouse_without_borders

Will update it throughout the week with other tests such as full dps on certain pets with certain setups (ie: condition pets with condition ranger setup and power pets with power ranger setup – no druid traitline, though).
+1, thanks a lot!
I suggest you take a look here:
Pushing ANet to make the Minors condition exclusive will do the traitline more harm than good and I personally hope this will never happen.
+1, I agree with that. The minor traits, that you cannot choose, should be general in nature, like they are today.
My suggestion for the trait is first, increase ICD to 20 seconds, and then reduce the duration to 3 seconds, and then lastly to reduce the hp of the roots so that that counterplay that anyone can do is more effective against it. Only then will I consider this trait balanced. I think it’s good that the requirements to make it proc are strict. Your target must be under some kind of CC and then you need to hit that target. So many auto procs just need you to hit something below a certain hp or just hit them at all and it’ll proc. So at least it has that keep it in check.
Yeah, that sure sounds GM worthy… lol!
<bunch of complaints>
Oh the sweet qq. Pets needs more improvements still. It only took Anet +4 years to actually acknowledge and try to do something about the fact that pets have major issues landing their attacks vs moving targets.
With this last patch it’s been improved, but there’s still more work to do when it comes to this.
To the argument about pets carrying ranger/druid damage – rofl, give it up already, or add all the damage, utility and burst potential back to the ranger himself. Let’s see how you would like that.
Bring a torch…
I second this request! +1
Topic.
Depending on what I’m doing, and depending on weapon I use, I would like to have an indicator icon that shows if autotargeting is on or off. Just a small icon or something that displays this, would be a nice qol improvement for me.
Thanks for reading.
Speaking of pvp – anyone tried out birds after the patch?
Are you guys talking about PvP or PvE? Because in PvP smokescale and bristleback are still the best ones I’m afraid
Depends, fighting on point vs more than one enemy I’d say wyverns are way better now. They have pretty good cleave, and the aoe knockbacks/knockdowns are sweet. I’ll probably go smokescale/wyvern.
Does anyone know if Lightning Assault procs ancient seeds just by itself or does it require damage after the fact?
You need to land an attack, not your pet. The pet can only be used for setting it up.
Hit-bash range, I don’t see any change, still shorter ranger than maul. Can you please confirm?
I haven’t tested it that much, but the feeling is that the range of the skill is still not where it should be.
Let me ask it like this:
Question 1: I use “Seed of Life” on stack of 10 people, do all 10 people get a GotL stack? Even though Seed of Life only targets 5 people?
Question 2: If I use Rejuvenating Tides on stack of 10 people, do all 10 people get 5 stacks of GotL? Even though Rejuvenating Tides only affects 5 people?
Yes to both (at least that’s how it should work to the best of my understanding, haven’t tested it post patch).
Clarion bond is broken since the update and even before.
Bug report it, if you haven’t already.
with 15 seconds of stealth
Oh, that I would like to see!
…and suddenly it’s white with red eyes and goatee and it looks like some sort of awful clown-demon and won’t change back
Rofl!
I’m sorry, but I did find that sentence very funny!
Interesting question, but I would think the damage buff is fully separated from the effects of the acutal skill used, other than the fact you need to be within range of said skill.
You don’t even have to actually heal anyone with skills for the buff to apply, you can simply take advantage of your CA-skills and glyphs to apply damage buffs to people around you (I use it often even when no healing is necessary just for that purpose).
“Water 10% more outgoing Healing (Including Healing on itself)”
As the only effect now? Feels a bit weak outside of raids possibly?
*
“Nature 10% less Condition Duration and 10% more boon Duartion”
Same here, you mean this as the only effect? No more healing from it?
Taking 50% of the the precision-gated sharpened edge bleeds away to justify +4 bleeds on 24sec cd sharpening stone is just an abomination in balancing.
I don’t think the two are related like that.
I’m pretty sure Sharpened Edges was nerfed to tone down condi ranger in raids.
Wyverns are pretty kitten nice now. This is the level of performance they should’ve had at HoT release.
Maul: This skill now grants an Attack of Opportunity to the ranger’s pet, causing its next attack to deal 50% more damage.
This one looks pretty kitten interesting.
Actually just a pure stat improvement for every spirit would be nice.
Frost 10% more dmg
Sun 10% more condi dmg
Earth 10% less dmg taken
Storm 10% more crit dmg
remove icd and anything that us related to chance and make the spirit activations ground targeted. Spirits would be fixed for eternity
Yesx4 and yes. The active, if it at all needs to remain, should be ground targeted (or, could be summoned to either ranger or pet for pbaoe).
Question is though – could they use a bit more flavour than simple stat increase? Or is the active enough flavour for spirits? Also, bring back their actives when they die.
The main reason that most groups take druids as healers is not that druids have the best heal
Are you sure about that?
Read AnariiUKs first post in this thread to get an idea about healing output for a druid:
Ranger:
- nerf to Grace of the Land
Quite possible when it comes to Anet, even though I don’t see any reason for it.
Balance is almost to 100% based on pvp – anyone thinks this one is OP in pvp?
Smokescales are even worse. They are invulneranle like 90% of the time. Their smoke cloud gives them evasion while it exists (while ranger’s smokescale just blindes one time enemies with it) and they keep rotating their smokescreen and assault (which also has like 3-4 second evade).
1. Don’t fight smokescales within their smoke cloud (which is called ‘spray mist’ when it comes to the mob smokescale)
2. The juvenile smokescale (as in the ranger pet) works pretty much the same – they create a smoke cloud, and while in it, they evade incoming attacks and are immune to conditions. They don’t blind enemies with their cloud, the ranger however can blind enemies by firing projectiles through the smoke field.
This makes smokescales one of the best when it comes to survival out of all pets.
I always thought they applied the range icrease to moas to test things out, then they would go ahead and apply the range increase across the board, to all melee pets and to all suitable pet abilities.
Still waiting…
I hear your frustration, and for sure can relate to it.
In GW1, things were much different, and often for the better, where an interrupt could actually turn the tide of the fight. Miss it, and it could wipe your party.
Now, mobs just cheat.
The answer to all your problems and many issues in gw2 can be found in the superior yet dated and neglected GW1. Though many features from GW1 have been requested since the launch of GW2 to no avail for over four years.
I’m not typing this post to discuss templates and other things but districts are the answer you seek. As lfg is needed for instanced content and low population maps that have to pull people from elsewhere in the game. However popular maps have the people needed and with a district system they could remove certain parts from LFG.
For instance a person goes to Lake Doric to leather farm or Teq for the WB with the district system you can see every map created by the merged system and can travel between them with ease. If four maps exist then hop between all created maps to one that’s doing your desired events. In Silverwastes the community could even have map 1 dedicateded to shovel farming and all the others to the meta thus streamlining the system and people would know where to go without hitting a map with a different focus.
Indeed, +1. So many things lacking that really should’ve been there all along.
Wow, really? It’s standard pve mobs we are talking about here lol.
Aye, but it wouldn’t be the first time in Orr. If I remember correctly, Risen Farmers when they were in water, were once able to more or less one shot you. It took a long time before Anet fixed them. Far more dangerous than 95% of all of the open world champs in the game.
Been a while since I encountered these Risen Bull Sharks, seems like I’ll have to give it a go and see what they’re up to these days…
(edited by OGDeadHead.8326)
They just need to make pets scale off the master, at least the crit dan ferocity ratings and normalize the autoattack damage between pets.
No. Another thing that some think will be a good thing. Seems you don’t know how wishes like these go down with Anet, if they ever come to pass.
You think it would be a good thing, but I can assure you the end result would be so bad for rangers you’d most likely rage-quit.
Leave pet stats separate from ranger stats thank you very much.
@ Irensaga.6935 – just to be clear – I’m not pointing fingers at any specific person here, more the general sense that there have been numerous threads about this topic with players more or less demanding an easier encounter, beacuse of course it can’t be their own personal skill that needs to improve just ever so slightly. “If I can’t win this encounter in zerker gear, then it’s too hard!”
I hear your suggestions, and I agree with some of them, especially in regards to Counter Magic – imho Anet clearly failed to inform the playerbase what was needed for this fight, and the description/explanation of Counter Magic, or the lack therof, leaves a lot to wish for when it comes to explaining things to the playerbase.
