Feeling the same, really. I tried some of the new pew pew things in WvW now that they patched most of the bugs, but watching my pet aimlessly run in circles while not being able to hit most moving things is a bit depressing. I played with that traitline for so long I cannot understand how people can play without it, do you guys just ignore your pet completely and hope for the best?
In order to improve build diversity even further, two things is needed imho:
- Fortifying bond baseline
- Pet movement speed increase baseline
Also, for self sustain, you can’t really go wrong with BM/NM/WS, the buffs to WS alone makes it very possible to drop Druid.
The Trait Natural Healing is still not regenerating pet health. (not any additional healing what so ever at any interval…)
I find this one rather odd. For me, this trait works, yet I’ve seen others like you that say it doesn’t work at all. Strange.
If most of what you plan to do with your computer is to play games, even AMD themselves recommends going with any of the ‘normal’ Ryzen cpus, since they tend to perform better in games compared to threadripper. Personally, I would most likely pick the regular Ryzen 1700 since it can be just as easily oc as the 1800x, and reach the exact same performance.
I really love traited HaO in combination with the improved Soften the Fall and Wilderness Knowledge. Can any other skill in the game bring this much?
- Heal
- Copy boons between ranger and pet
- Regeneration
- Swiftness
- Fury
- Clean two conditions
- Cripple
- Slow
- Immobilize
and if traited with Cultivated Synergy, another heal from both ranger and pet to allies.
Amazing with this combo, pure gold imho.
I would imagine Anet keeps different versions of their game stored, right?
If so, go back to the version you had prior to this balance patch and compare, and please compare it from a dedicated players view, since I would imagine most casuals won’t even notice the difference at all.
Change the topic of this thread to “Pets still not fixed”.
Don’t they have people at Anet that plays our class enough that they should be able to tell it’s still not working right??
I noticed that when after pet swap you spam F1 button the pet starts attacking right away, even before his model fully loads.
Thank you for trying to fix the bug, but, please, don’t stop on a half way.
This.
Gaile, you need to bring this to the devs attention yet again, since it still not working right. The devs should take a look at the code before and after the balance patch, since it was working just fine prior to that.
Good god, I think mine is like 800hp/s, I might need to think about dropping Nature magic for WS… that’s just so good
Use both for lots of protection uptime for both you and your pet…
Tooltip seems to show a higher healing value than what’s actually applied?
Edited to say: Natural healing isn’t working AT ALL right now. so any debating it’s effectiveness is moot when it is bugged for people who do want to use it.
It’s working for me, what seems to be the problem? It heals the pet, and it generates AF (albeit slower ofc). Just tested – working.
I will put in a ticket then I guess… Combat window only shows signet heals…and if I change that signet….pet gets 0 healing in log or healthbar…none. Maybe it’s a glitch in my acct…
It’s not showing in the combat log, nor “over the head” of the pet. But if you pay attention to your pets healthbar, and AF bar if you run druid, you’ll notice that it is working. Easiest way to test is by letting the pet attack some random mob by himself.
If Empathetic bond was a 50/50 split like PvE, it would be alright, just alright, not great, however in PvP it’s kittening hot garbage, it not only barely reduces condis on you, but in PvP our pet gives US 80% of its condi durations, that means if your pet runs through a fire field we’re getting 80% of that.
Rofl OMG!
If this is true, they (Anet) surely outdid themselves this time, and not in a good way! What a joke!

Maybe it is wishful thinking but if you order your pet to attack after swap I think it comes back from its nap? At least it seems to do that when I tried it my last few matches I did earlier today.
That’s wishful thinking.
Only access to stability in one skill in the hole class.
Actually, we have two options, even though this one isn’t that great tbh:
Spirit of Nature + Nature’s Vengeance
I find it to be absolutely worthless, quite possibly the worst GM trait ever in the history of this game.
They made a bad trait worse.
And makes the game feel less fluid.
That’s an understatement. It’s a gamebreaking bug in pvp, and needs to be fixed asap. I can’t for the life of me understand how a severe bug like this one ever went live.
I can’t for the life of me understand how things like these happens, and onto live servers. How small is Anets quality assurance team really? I mean, really?
It’s not like it’s the first time either, and often it takes months, if ever, to fix.
Well, at least I’ll hold of buying the expansion until this is fixed, that’s for kitten sure.
Wonder if pet F2 will have charges…
Thanks Justine.
And how do you build up or earn these charges? Do you have a global ‘pool’ of them to spend on skills or what?
In my experience, the hardware that fails most often are PSUs.
I’ve used PCs for 20+ years, and during that time I’ve had one harddrive fail, one motherboard, one graphics card and probably five or six PSUs.
Just recently my PC were acting up with random crashes, reboots, black screens and graphic artifacts. I was sure this time it was my graphics card, but it turned out to be yet another PSU failing, even though the one I had were a supposedly high quality 750W gold standard product.
So we have seen that Weaponskills get ammunition mechanic.
What does that mean exactly?
I just want ranger traps to behave more like they used to in GW1, with the same impact. I’ve never felt traps in GW2 to be worth the effort, they’re simply far to weak when you consider that you need to give up everything to make them half-decent, and even then, they are still crap. I much prefer Glyphs since they are, imho, superior.
Also, trap skills, from any profession, should NEVER be balanced around Trapper Runes. I rather see Anet remove Trapper Runes completely, and balance traps from there.

Looking forward to try this one out a point blank range…

Birds at least almost made some sense back when boons were fairly rare. If you don’t have perma swiftness or a movement trait on any profession these days you’re a total noob.
The ridiculously long animation also made sense when it gave quickness and they evaded during it… but that was so long ago
So long ago that it never have worked that way?
Funny… the game runs flawlessly on ultra on my system with an AMD FX Quad-Core and a laughably outdated ATI Radeon HD 5750 GPU.
Well as I mentioned… I’m using an FX quad core and an outdated ATI graphics card and I can run on max settings and rarely ever drop below 30FPS, even in crowded cities and at zone bosses. The newest hardware is not required for optimal performance on GW2… I’m not sure why you’re having such bad performance with much newer hardware, but I’m pretty sure it’s not due to the games optimization.
Panda, you say words like “flawlessly” and “optimal performance”, yet at the same time also say that you “rarely ever drop below 30FPS”.
I for one wouldn’t say that the game runs ‘flawlessy’ with ‘optimal performance’ and talking about 30 fps in the same sentence, that’s for sure.

Can GW2 be played on an entry level computer?

Asking for a friend…
Can GW2 be played on a modern entry level computer? She’s looking for a budget PC, maybe in the $500 range… would this be enough to play the game at a reasonable level?
I’d look around for used parts. You can get a decent computer for that kind of money if going for used equipment, much more so that buying a new one from any store for the same amount of money.
Also, adding a screencut of russian language ALREADY in game. At least on gem purchase page. The most important one, right!?
Indeed it is.

3. Install the right software to keep your system protected and warn you of possible threats. (I recommend Avast Free Antivirus, Spybot, and ZoneAlarm Free Firewall. After installation, run full in-depth scans of your system!)
It’s possible the 2F Authentication is wonky with your account.
Or that, but that would be a strange issue (first time I’ve heard of it, especially in combination with a “pop-up” window).
Sorry, but ZoneAlarm Firewall isn’t necessary to install since Windows has it’s own firewall, and ZoneAlarm has never protected anything not even your wallet.
One issue with Windows built in firewall is that it tends to let through outgoing traffic in the normal setting. There are programs that fix that, like Windows 10 Firewall control. You will still use Windows Firewall, which is perfectly fine, but with the added ability that you’ll have to accept outgoing traffic from your programs.
It needs to only proc immob.
It doesn’t need to proc binding roots.
Sounds legit for a GM trait…
Just tossing in a plus 1 here. It got smiter’s booned. A single corrupt that is going to happen and the elite is now a burden (and a nasty one at that, remember stab converts to fear.)
Very weird and brutal nerf; you’re nuts if you take this skill now.
Not surprised. They NEVER think things through fully.
They could apply an evade to the sword swing and that would likely be the easiest fix.
Pretty much. Evade from the moment you press the button and throughout the whole animation, problem solved. Also, it would be the logical thing to do to the skill. When you want to evade something, you want it to happen NOW, not after half a second – react, not predict.
Anyone can agree to that, except of course for the Anet devs.
another thing too as well if you look at this i am posting and check your task manger and see if its set to the same thing . if so then you need to change it every time you play guild wars2 to high . thus the comp puts all the power to that instead of running the game on low settings all the time as it,s playing . and make sure you got no other apps open at the same time your playing that you do not need at all . that will give you a lot of problems as well too
You should not set priority to high, so ignore this as well.
after looking at your 2 screen shots you posted . well i can see some of your problems but not sure on some others as not enough info to go on . first off are you playing on the desk top or is this the laptop?? second if this is on the desktop you are using WI-FI to use instead of cate6 cable to play on ?? third have you looked at your windows firewall as of late ?? fourth what apps have you got open when playing the game ? do you have your fire wall set to low ?? also look at your windows firewall log and see how many steam items are listed and going in and out . in your pic i marked the things wrong i found with your current settings and so forth i see wrong in your ss screen shot you posted and marked them
Nothing in this post makes any sense at all when it comes to the topic at hand.
Fixing core ranger issues won’t sell more games/expansions.
This franchise has always been about powercreep to make the new expansions more attractive, nothing new here since the original Guild Wars. Time in between expansions are mostly to tone down the powercreep they earlier introduced, just to let things start all over again when the next one hits.
Apparently, it works to some extent. So even though I hope for improvements just as much as anyone else here, I don’t think they’ll ever come, at least not in the way we would like.
Biggest mistake Anet ever did to GW2 pvp? Introducing the thief class.
The health bars we’re talking about here are for healing purposes, as in seeing the health of allies ONLY, not to see the health bar of your enemies.
This is something Anet should’ve implemented a long time ago when they introduced the druid. kitten often seems to be the case, they fail to understand what many of their players need.

About a month ago, I finally broke down and purchased an external 24" monitor for it and am using the DisplayPort to drive it. I wonder if that has something to do with the sudden appearance of the error. Before that I just used the built in LCD screen???
It may. Googling this error, it seems there can be lots of things that may trigger this, including which connection is used to hook up to a monitor. I’ve yet to find ONE answer that solves this once and for all, so my advice would be to search for info out there and see if there’s a fix that applies to your system.
One popular fix seems to involve changing TDR value in the registry, or even disable it (something added in Vista iirc that’s supposed to prevent the entire system from crashing when something’s up with the graphics card/driver).
I hope you’ll find a solution that works for you – good luck!
Cause after the format obviously even if the game works threw the .exe it will not appear on the installed programs etc.
You don’t need that.

I believe this to be hardware related, something is failing in the graphics subsystem, and by utilizing it, you’ll run into a BSOD. So it’s a failsafe preventing you from running the program in in order to avoid a BSOD.
Possibly this may trigger by mistake, but quite likely something’s up with hardware in combination with a specific program, in your case GW2. It may be as simple as an overclock and/or voltage issue.
Update:
So it seems it works just fine afterall, when you consider HOW Radeon Chill is supposed to work.
Standing still, fps will lower to a minimum set in your radeon chill settings. Running straight ahead with no mouse movements whatsoever and you’ll get lower fps compared to running the game with chill off. However, as soon as you start moving around more, the fps will increase even higher. In short, you’ll get the performance you need when you need it, and with that comes all the other benefits of a cooler gpu and an increase in respone time.
So, all in all, works just fine (using wow.exe for now). Keep cool!
But today I decided to login. My FPS dropped to 11. Now there’s a constant struggle between 10 and 30, rarely peaking up to 40. This happened out of nowhere. All of my other games are running fine, but it seems Guild Wars 2 is the exception. It doesn’t make any sense. No changes were done to the game since I last logged in. None.
I’ve had issues like the one you describe here from time to time. In my case, it seems the 3d rendering of the graphics card doesn’t initialize correctly, for some reason. Usually a simple restart of the game solves it for me. On one or maybe two occasions I’ve had to reboot.
Probably not the same issue, but I thought it worth mentioning. You could try restarting the graphics driver with WIN+SHIFT+CTRL+B.
Here you go:

You don’t even need to go there: Windows will automatically use the extra memory to cache data read from disk, so that it doesn’t need to be read again. That’ll automatically speed up load screens, etc, the second time they need an asset.
Going as far as a ramdisk isn’t required. (Also, 32GB is nice if you like to have more than just GW2 running at the time, like a bunch of browser tabs, overlays, etc. I appreciate it when my backup client uses 4GB of RAM, etc.)
True and true.

Increasing Ram won’t help issues. Performance in Gw2 pretty much comes down to CPU power.
Only reason to go for 32 gigs of ram, for gaming, is if you plan to run the game from a ramdisk. While that should improve loading times, it will have zero impact on the actual performance.
Ranger pets never dies, so, working as intended. Move on.
the thing is i dont understand is why it should be nerfed
Me neither, but I know this company by now. Ask for one thing, and they give you that, they then take away two other things, because reasons.
Another huge problem pets face is that currently, quickness will only increase the attack speed of regular attacks from devourer, spider, smokescale, bristleback or wyvern pets. On any other pet, quickness does not increase regular attack speed.
Very, very confused over this issue :/
Haven’t had time to test this out myself. Bug report it.
