“Years” well again right back you you have no knowledge as well..for all you know it will take 1 to 2 days. Honestly this whole ordeal has blown out of the water, as a community we have become really lazy over the course of 3 years of no progression and have really gotten used to having everything unlocked for us the whole concept of actually working to unlock perks for your class? What heresy!

EDIT: also the whole arguement of alts is just..no..in the end alts are characters that you have to progress as well..just because they are alts does exclude them for a free pass or content made easier.

Except we do. Each mastery requires 16 million exp to max out, and you need 200k experience to level up at level 80, and dungeons will not provide HoT mastery experience. All of this is information that has been announced and confirmed by ANet staff or was available in the BWE’s. Therefore, basic math dictates that in order to max out a given mastery, one must level up 800 times per mastery.

So a HP is locked behind a maxed glide and then a maxed mushroom hop. Looks like you need 1600 level-ups to get it, only attainable by doing events in the HoT maps.

That is indeed one hell of a grind, even while the masteries are account bound, and still doesn’t change the fact that one has to still run around and collect them all or do map completion in Tyria multiple times over, which again, is repeating the same task for each character in a very similar way over each similar map.

This is why the most useful effects from masteries are on the lower tiers, and the higher tiers are generally stuff like “you can do a solo boss challenge once per day” or “now you can infinit glide even though the zone isn’t designed around infinite gliding”

They’re set up like GW1 achievement tracks really. They’re long term things with all the useful effects early and the prestige and fluff effects at the end of long grinds.

Exactly. The stuff near the end is more of a convenient things..like more easily kill that heavily armored mordrum..or instead of taking 10min. To climb up there it will take you 1min.

Honestly as a community we have become really lazy..we are used for like…3 years of having everything unlocked and with this introduction of new progress “scares” alot of people..i mean work to reunlocked everything? What a heretical notion! what will people ask next? Reduce masteries xp required by 95%?

I wouldn’t say lazy, one of the GW2 selling points was that it was very casual friendly with little to no grinds. So I would say it’s more like we have expectations for the game to have less time investment, not lazy. For other games you know what you are getting yourself into, Korean games are typically very much a non stop grind, you know what to expect with games like WoW and you play it accordingly. GW2 is no different, we expect it to be more casual friendly because that was how it was sold.

That’s my opinion at least.

My friend…that is the problem..many people forgot the true meaning of grind..try cutting trees nonstop for 2 months..that is grind..this? Each HP is located in a different area and has some tweak to it..also does not require spending weeks at a time to POSSIBLY get it as a drop..as for casually..that is core gw2..as main selling point of hot is the promise of as challange. That’s my two cents..gana leave this threat now..I feel people want to kill me for stating my opinions.

Lazy? BS. How many hours a week do you work? I bought this game because it could still be fun with a packed schedule and not leave me in the dust as a consequence for my life taking priority and requiring most of my time and effort.

I work about 38-46 hours a week, will work more with Christmas coming up with peak. I never claimed you as a person are lazy I ment in game, the whole concept of unlocking perks for your class is too hard please give it to me on a silver plate is dumb..plus this is a free mmo..not like you are forced to squeeze in 40 hours of gameplay a week to get your months pay, slow and steady, what’s the rush?

Sigh…people forgot the meaning of “grindwall” Each HP will have some tweak to it and it’s not all located in one spot repeating over and over again for days on end..I played a mmo where I frikkin cut trees for 2 months just for a cape..that is a grindwall…this? Not even.

Eyyy, fellow Runescape veteran

Eyyyyy, buying gf amirite?

But honestly this is not bad. With a little bit of time you will unlock everything m8 not like it will take you weeks on end. Maybe a day or 2

It’s bad when you have to do it for each character beyond the first, though. Then it’s repeating the same tasks over and over.

There’s also no knowledge about how many will be quickly accessible. It’s entirely possible many of them will be locked behind masteries which may take months or possibly years to acquire fully.

Take away our greatsword perk and what do we have for damage?…nothing pretty much..i see you have some sort of intent on nerfing warriors in general..in fact most of the things you listed just hurt warriors..we have been nerfed enough…directly and indirectly since 2012…just baseline fast hands and leave us be.

Take away our banners? whats wrong with you? take those AND ps away from us and warrior becomes USELESS in group pve. We are one of the most balanced classes out there atm.

Yeah a forum full of thieves don’t know better about the class than you – and the guy with the twilight.

Please read, I observed this fight from a tower in WvW, and yes i don’t know much about thieves, just the examples i see before me, and when i see this “underpowered” class solo 3 players it makes it appear not underpowered at all.

I went full cleric with staff… it took ~2-3+ minutes for 1 veteran beetle… I just press 1 and alt tab

Why did you expect to be able to kill a tanky monster quickly while wearing full clerics gear and using a weapon whose purpose is to heal and support allies?

Exactly what i been trying to say.

Beetles are immune to damage depending on where you attack them from.

well they would rotate and spew stuff from their rears, but I have smacking it from all around, still feel like this laser pointer is a laser pointer

Also these beetles are “tanks” so..makes sense..a healer specialized specializiation fighting a tank seems kinda awkward eh? but yes druid needs a upgrade to damage maybe, go to the ranger forum and give feedback ^^

well the thing was, damage was pretty much the same across the board everything I fought in the jungle… Doesn’t really matter what it was… it was always 200-300 per tick for staff 1

Also, have been… I just didn’t quite see how the Difficulty has been reduced mainly because Druid was not released yet

300?…LOL that is low..like laughably so..as the guy who above you posted dps is garbage apparently..but again…its a healing spec..its ment for group healing..not dps..but yeai think dmg should scale abit higher…300 lol

And tanky is not the problem..is the damage they induce..before you actually had to watch their movements or else be punished by it, now i can afk it and walk away almost unscratched.

Also view this prospective from a pure damage class, where one attack can hit 10k…tanky? not at all.

At the moment warriors in dungeons are only viewed for support, we are REQUIRED to take ps/banners otherwise we are viewed as useless.

One little suggestion, is it possible to bind the berserk key and our f1 key to the same key? so that berserk activates first when we press the key and when we press it again while in berserk state we activate the berserk burst?

The way things currently are the main reason we even take up that traitline is for the MINOR trait.m course there are many smaller reasons but so far it is the PRIME reason we take it, other stuff is just a nice bonus.

Um, guys? The OP was just giving his feedback on the BWE, like all the rest of us.

You can disagree with him, and that’s fine, but it’s really not cool to jump all over him and assume he can’t play just because his opinion is different than yours. You know nothing about his build, what class he’s running, or even what part of the BWE content he was playing when he posted this feedback.

The devs will weigh all the feedback they receive, not just one side.

We are not jumping all over him….we are trying to help him out, give advice, if everyone followed “feedback” well…..lets just see this game would be like rift 1.1, where they nerfed the warrior so kitten the first patch it literally became the worst class. All because of “feedback”

I mean…ask yourself…do you REALLY want everything to be like in the core game? mindless and 2 hittable, and pose NO challenge? i mean really? HoT finally offers us a challenge, yes it is difficult in some places, but once you learn and adapt, it is doable and a challenge, and most importantly, fun.

I don’t mind the enemies being more difficult with better AI but when it’s 5k,5k,5k,5k in quick succession despite dodging, using blocks, running away…. it’s just kind of over the top. Like those Mordrem Snipers during the story and their rapid fire. Or the Vet Shadow things where you cannot run from them. It doesn’t make it fun. It just makes it irritating.

Please don’t nerf them..snipers you gotta keep a eye on and use your dodges WHEN they fire their crazy damage attacks, Vet shadows? i assume you talking about those guys who can shadow step…just keep them out of their mist fields and kill them, simple, learn and adapt.

When there’s multiples of them though and you’re out of dodges and you have no heal skills left it makes it really aggrivating. It doesn’t matter if you’re standing in the mist field either. If you’re out of it, still can’t hit them. I don’t mind them doing the annoying teleport but when it kills half your life in 1 attack, that’s just dumb.

Weird, I am full glass, ele, and i never ran into a problem with the snipers, sure i took alot of damage but i manage the encounter(unless i do not see the sniper targetting me among the horde of enemies then i might die while taking the bulk of the attack, but still not a problem), and as for the mist field problem you having, i just end up kiting/dodging them until the mist effect runs out and then they die like paper.

Which is super ironic since so many people wouldn’t shut up about how OP it was going to be.

agreed. Funny because I went on my tempest and obliterated everything…

sigh

That’s because ele in general is already a very powerful class already.

It looks bad and it plays bad, I found myself squinting to see if my F2 was off CD yet, hiding it behind the F1 is just bad UI design, I hope to see this changed before HoT.

In general the Zerker just feels underwhelming.

Here are some of my thoughts after a couple hours of play.

Primal Skills

-The major problem The burst skills are underwhelming.
– GS adds burning, seems wasted and the normal gs burst is stronger.
– Longbow, basically the same skill
– Sword, the burn duration is realllly low (with food, sigil and traits)
– Hammer, in pvp id rather have the stuns and in pve the blowout is small.
– Axe, pathetic damage
– Mace, its interesting
– Rifle, the main rifle skills are still terrible anyways

Also,

- The damage is very low, they seem to be the equivalent to a lvl 1 normal burst?
- Skill recharge of zerk stance > burst is horrifically clunky.
- Primal skills share a recharge with their none primal versions. So for example sword burst > zerk stance > sword primal there will be a 3 second cool down on the burst. Again its clunky and awkward.
- Also not being able to see the primal bursts anywhere in the ui is inconvenient.

Torch

- Skill 4: The variations on hits can be a deal breaker. One one mob it’ll hit 3 times and be an decent skill. Or … it wont hit at all
- Skill 5: Cool, unique and interesting. Needs a damage buff and an animation for when it’ll burst.

Zerk Stance

- The 10% attack speed + quickness is hardly noticeable. Perhaps a couple seconds of super speed could be added?

Rage Skills

- I fear they wont see any play. All seem under powered and easily ignored or we already have better options.

PvP

s/t+lb is very fun, but is still entirely dependent on the stances to survive so the warrior still suffers from the same problem as always. Also the rage skills do nothing to help solve the issues of just being kitted.

Overall

The concept of the Zerker is meant to be a hybrid high burst spam, but the combos feel clunky and the primal burst and rage skills are underwhelming. Still plenty of time to play/test more, but so far the Zerker has a great thing going for it … its really fun.

I agree with for the most part everything you listed, its fun to play do not get me wrong on that, but it FEELS a wee bit underwhelming.
