- There is not a single “chilled” effect on shortbow, missing synergy with other condi traits

looks at Icerazor’s Ire

hmm, the guy is a caster who is called Icerazor, and he clearly shoots bolts of ice at the enemy

yet he cripples and causes vulnerability, the two most useless conditions due to their ineffectiveness and the fact that vuln is one of the most common conditions to just passively apply.

No sign of chill on the ice themed guy who specialises in debilitation :/

I saw this too, even the icon looks like its chill themed.

the last backpiece need rank 350 ? oh.. ok.. there you go….

still don’t understand why you care if the reward is easier to get, you love the game mode remember? I want the reward, in a realistic time frame, why is that asking too much? not to mention you get way more wvw rank from PvD instead of zerg vs zerg, havoc or roaming, why is this playstyle rewarded with rank more then others? Why is this justification for dedication to the game mode above all others?

Because i do not have the time to grind 2000 rank.

Plus if it did require 2000 rank..why would it require hell of alot more effort than fractal or pvp backpiece? seems kinda unfair to the local wvw’er

Correction: Since rev is the strongest class in the game right now, we’ll bring it down a bit to still be really strong, but not too dominant*

Oh yeah, the “slightly” line: 50% and 33% nerf to the 2 main attacks of the Rev is “slightly” and “down a bit”.

It’s funny looking back at the May 2016 nerf to SOTM of 15%. People were saying that ANET did the right thing by being conservative so as not to kill class viability. Then 6 months later they come down with a radical downgrade that looks like it will threaten class viability. 50% downgrade after a 15% downgrade means about at 43-44% downgrade in damage overall. Almost half. So much for taking things slow eh?

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/Surge-of-the-Mists-Nerfed-YES

I will not be playing my Rev in pvp.

It’s about 10-15% nerf to rev overall, who had insanely high damage in the first place. Rev will still be meta and one of the strongest classes (I believe mes is not the strongest) and then rev) Just the shiro port alone will make it essential.

If every other class has a value of 15k and rev has a value of 20k (which is p much the case) and then rev gets nerfed 15%, let’s say 20% just to be generous. Ppl will QQ about the 20% even tho you’re still at 16k and 1k above the other classes. Look at the results instead of looking at only the changing number to have an excuse to cry.

Funny how you prowl all across the rev forums claiming rev is the godsend of classes, yet never specifically explain why, or even bother to acknowledge the glaring issues with the class, but instead just say ‘High damage, and teamfights’, completely ignoring that rev’s damage falls quicker than a stone in teamfights, and most of its viable support comes from the lazy design of boon bot Glint, which no one wants in the first place.

Shiro’s port is trash compared to other options. Lousy tracking with terrain, consumes energy if failed, requires a target in the first place, obvious animation, requiring shiro and locking you into other utilities you may not need, along with his trash heal.

Finally someone said it.

Hm… guess that’s just a bane of MMO’s then. I barely see despawn animations that go beyond the enemy sinking into the ground to imply decomposing.

Not just in this game, in quite a few to be honest.

Normally id agree. if gw2 did not have unique spawning i would of not even brought this up, but they do have unique spawns, unique dying animations, but as for despawns..it falls flat. So as i said..why not just dissolve them into the ground? simple, easy, and more importantly does not look lazy. It is a little thing, but seeing as how often we see something dying it would be noticed.

I mean some finishers in pvp have unique despawns..namely…the wurm, and shark finisher. where both eat your body.

Or with poison and they grab their throat because they have trouble breathing.

So… not sure what you’re talking about.

Not talking bout animations, animations are fine. I am talking about despawn of the enemies, when they hit the floor and then just disappear after a few seconds.

Guess i should of made that more clear.

Mob Deaths

Something that has bothered me for the longest time was the death of mobs, which is just a vanish, nothing fancy, just poof. They made the time to gave alot of enemies a unique spawn animation(which i am glad for), be its a skritt popping out of the ground, an icebrood appearing out of a icy mist, or even a plain risen appearing from a poof of black/green smoke.

So i am curious why not give them death despawns, i mean they bothered to give them a spawning ones? it can be something as simple as devolving into the ground. I know it might just be me but seeing them just be there one second and gone the second is just..eh.

Made it to legendary league solo queue using hammer zerker rev with only 1 condi clear. You don’t need anymore than that lol. You just need to kill them before they can apply a ton to you. You just need to avoid 1 vs 1 this specific classes

1.) Mesmer (Confusion Mesmer, Strong vs Power Rev)
2.) Engineer (Applies a ton of Condis if using pistol Very Strong vs Power Rev)
3.) Necro (Applies condition and is able to take a ton of damage but not as strong as condi engi or condi Mesmer)

Other condi builds are manageable with Invocation and …. Staff 4. You can also put purity/generosity as weapon sigils but they tend to lower ur dps which gives the condi classes more time to put more condis on you.

Really? a hammer? hmm from fighting other revs hammer it is very predictable from what i seen, but guess ill give it a shot.

As if you are low/low-mid skilled i can understand you are getting destroyed as this where necromancers shine killing low skilled players that eats all damage and don’t use control effects. The higher skill level you go the lower solo necromancer value becomes. You have to hope to get good teammates with good dps pressure or bad enemies that can’t focus you down.

Hue, apply all the condis, wait a few seconds, and you got yourself a dead rev; As rev relies on other classes for condi clears and heals.

Quickness still at 100% cast speed and not a boon, PW dealing another 20% damage, with no precast animation, no Revealed debuff, no ICD on stealth attacks, CnD dealing 20% more damage, Mug critting, Assassin’s Signet applying a 50% damage modifier, Critical Strikes trait line actually being useful, permanent 14 might and stealth from SA alone, infinite stealth on D/P alone, multiple trait lines with crazy strong adept traits, Basilisk Venom couldn’t be stunbroken and ignored stability, permanent blind/multi-pulses on Black Powder, Dagger Storm dealing way more damage, Dancing Dagger’s damage up by ~75% with an extra bounce, shortbow range at 1200, shortbow AA having more damage, shortbow AA ignoring stealth and teleports on bounces, HiS cleansed all the DoT conditions, Infiltrator’s Strike costed less initiative and didn’t have a second part – just an instant evade, and most significantly, no silly powercreep yet in the core game.

I probably missed a few more big ones since then, but those were just the major ones that came to mind.

Never once did I say that rev isn’t strong. No one with any sense would say that it doesn’t have strong points, but to say it’s the strongest class in the game, as a random no less, is just willful ignorance.

If you leave any class that’s capable of doing something like support or dps, then yes, they can shift a fight. That axe power necro won’t do much if you pressure him, but if you ignore him, then yes, he will cause you issues and can possibly sway the fight.

Try to stop pointing to els players to drive your point home when you offer no argument to defend your point. Saying it’s the strongest class with the evidence of ‘just because I said so’ or ‘esl’ doesn’t mean a thing. Other people who play the game are capable of just as much understanding of it as any ‘pro’ player, so stand on your own, instead of kneeling to them.

And btw, just saying DH was viable doesn’t mean that it was viable.

I know it doesn’t mean that it is viable, but it is viable, I’m informing, not arguing.

What other evidence is there about what is strong or not strong, than competetive play? Everything can be distorted into “your opinion” “completely subjective” as an escape for being an idiot.
“Kneeling to them”? I refer to esl as us, I play in esl myself.

I asked some friends btw:

Difficult to trust that honestly, no date, no nothing, for all we know those screens are pre patch, Ill take your word for it when i see a video from them discussing this, plus reasoning.

Ok this is unacceptable, raids won’t take us now, In pvp combined with all the previous nerf bats we recieved and now with our dagger nerf(the absolute worst heal in game at the moment i think), and the passive heal regen has been upped to 2 upkeep, we are almost a free kill.

This is bs, you nerf nerf nerf without actually giving something in exchange, its just take take take.

What makes me mad above all else though is you focus on NERFING first rather then fixing the many crippling bugs that the rev has.

So will anet actually undo any of these nerfs? hah course not maybe in a few more months when they hit us with more nerfs; how bout all utility skills require 50 energy/max upkeep?

Heh i guess people might buy less HoT now since the class they are selling is almost useless.

Before someone points out “play another class” 1. One of the prime reasons i bought HoT was the rev and 2. I am one of the people who play only one class.

Am i overreacting? I do not know anymore, just looking at the previous balance patches rev has being slowly nerfed more and more.

Rant over. Lock this thread i don’t care, i am just a very frustrated customer at this point.

Suggestion – New Destroyers

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Omega Zoa.3859

Omega Zoa.3859

I find the new destroyers to be a downgrade instead of an upgrade. They are much easier to deal with than the old versions because they don’t do any damage and die instantly.

The destroyers in Taimi’s game were a real evolution, but for some reason we don’t fight those but rather some weakened versions. The new destroyers are a joke. Not that the core tyria ones were very threatening, but in higher level zones they were more of a threat than the new ones.

Also, I never liked the design of the GW2 destroyers, they had such awesome designs in GW1 and they made them look generic re-skins of existing creatures in GW2. But this isn’t an expansion so I hope when the Primordus expansion is released we’ll get loads of totally new mobs to fight with actually interesting mechanics and powers.

This, a million times this, during the story mission when it said “the destroyer of hope approaches” i was excited i thought id see the destroyer of hope from gw1, instead its just the same destroyer from SF and megadestroyer.
