Well, if you make another character and join the order you want the armor from… you can buy the armor, transmute it and then use it on your other character. It worked for me, as of a week ago.
You get gifts of exploration i believe, no additional chest… other than the one you got from the zone.
People are always dropping in and out of servers, doubt you will have to wait that long till a space is free. Overflow servers cater for when a certain area has met it’s threshold in terms of capacity and puts you in another server, in these overflow servers, it holds players from other servers as well… until you decide to shift back to your server when a space is free in that zone. The population has spread out now, so you might not find many overflow servers anymore.
Well, if you look at the map, there’s a lot more to Orr than we can access. Maybe those parts will be restored to it’s former glory, when we can access them of course.
That was a good read, exactly what i wanted to hear!
Now the waiting game…
@Dani – Would be awesome to be able to go to the Hall of Heroes again! Probably get to see a few gw1 npcs again!
Maybe, it’s hard to tell. I know during GW1, the Necromancer got some really nice game changing buffs and nerfs to various skills. The meta will eventually change, to keep things fresh on both the pvp and pve side.
I think it’s best to stick with the class you like the most, yes.
Hope they do! It would probably mean an entrance in to the underworld would return.
Quoting the ‘Shadow of the mad king’ page;
“Despite the celebrations there are those who dread the coming of Halloween and all that it may bring, for it is the time of year when barriers between the realms are weakest.”
Rune of the noble has a chance to summon a drakehound when hit.
Didn’t know there was a Phinneyridge in Seattle, i thought it was a place dedicated to a former ArenaNet employee!
Some rather interesting speculation so far. It’s quite likely that it’s not in game yet, i have been looking in the deepest and darkest sea’s (some of which are pitch black). Haven’t come across anything yet, i was hoping it was hidden some where, even if we couldn’t fight or interact with it.
Guild Wars 1 had a faction reputation system going on dealing with multiple orders/factions (one of them being Order of Whispers), in which farming was part of the end game. I don’t think we’ve seen the end of the orders yet, so a system might be introduced later.
I’ve solo’d a few champions on my guardian using staff + mace/shield. Does take a while though haha.
I don’t mind the nerf, to be honest, it won’t make me any less capable (I’m already the worst player in GW2!) =D
That’s the spirit!
I still use the greatsword for general PvE. But i always run a staff and now i’m using a mace with what ever offhand is needed depending on the situation; torch for damage or shield and focus for more protection.
There has got to be some grind, something to work for. But in the wider scope, it’s nowhere near as much grinding as other MMO’s.
@Rizzy, I don’t think the game is regarded as revolutionary, but instead evolutionary in some cases.
Guardian changes, why I am so upset. Question about the balancing process

For me it’s not about the retaliation, it just seems this was a quick solution to nerf the retaliation upkeep in general, but doing so… it had a major impact on greatsword DPS and synergy between traits especially those dealing with greatsword utility and symbols, which is what bothers me the most.
At the end of the Guild Wars 2 Manifesto trailer released a few years ago, we saw in game footage of a Sylvari swimming with a very large underwater creature passing by.
I’m quite curious about this beast and i believe it should have more mention. Does anyone know if it’s related to any of the Elder Dragons? DSD?
I’ve added an attachment of what it looks like from the Manifesto trailer.
They need to buff altruistic healing to compensate by a fair bit. Not all our weapons even have symbols that they create so nerfing the main one that is used for symbols is destructive to say the least.
Exactly, the synergy between the trait and symbol of wrath was quite a big part of my build for surviving on the front end. Why didn’t they just change retaliation for another boon? They wanted to change the guardians retaliation upkeep, so they nerfed the great sword dps and made a lot of the GS and symbol traits less effective.
Usually nerfs don’t bother me, but this one did. A large part of the survival aspect of my build involved getting symbols down. Agree with everyone who suggests retaliation should of been swapped out for another boon such as might, fury, etc…
This single change also effected so many traits.

Fields of Ruin or Blazeridge steppes for me, just reminds me of pre-searing Ascalon.
I think it’s important to state where the game is at the moment, it’s been out for little over a month, it’s the bare bones of a world that is going to get bigger and better.
Suggestions? gear up now for probable new higher end content.
Arah’s gate guardian i believe, you fight him in your personal story. Not sure if he appears anywhere else.
I didn’t care for them when i first tamed one, tried it out and now i always keep one among my two pets.
Honor of the Waves dungeon for the tokens, vendor is in Lions Arch.
If your talking about the ones Sons of Svanir wears, it’s a mixture of norn cultural armor and barbaric armor.
I’m not ArenaNet, but they have stated that expansions like EotN is more likely. That being said, nothing is official from what information we have received from them.
Colin, on the other hand said that there will be free content, to the extent of any top tier MMO would provide.
Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry were so fun. Love to see them or something similar return when Cantha is available.
Don’t usually listen to rap, but that was awesome.
This is something to try out! Looks pretty effective.
Thanks Ellisd
I like the majority of the voice acting especially those who performed as members of destiny’s edge. Although when i listen to Trahearne, i can hear the room the voice actor is standing in color the recordings.
As always, Jeremy Soule’s compositions are suitable and brilliant.

Necromancer has more survive-ability, although good Mesmer can survive also.
Necromancer in terms of AoE damage have wells, marks and have the ability of spreading conditions among mobs with epidemic. Mesmers are more duelists, one on one, but they also have some AoE options.
Necromancers are quite bugged and lack power/burst damage. Both proffesions have quite a high learning curve in terms of mastering, necromancers in certain situations can be quite deadly where a good mesmer can turn the tides in battle. You’ll probably be more accepted in groups as a Mesmer.
Coming from Guild Wars 1 as a Necromancer, i’m a little disappointed how the necromancer turned out, theoretically it could be great, i really like the mechanics of the proffesion with death shroud and all. But the bugs and the lack of power damage put me off. If addressed, i will probably re-roll my Necromancer.

Pockmark Rough seems quite a bit smaller in this game, i remembered the crystals to be alot bigger in GW1.
At the Ascalon Settlement, there is a monument dedicated to an ‘Unknown Soldier’, perhaps this might be the memorial to our Guild Wars 1 hero.
When running it on wine i did notice a performance decrease, but i’m glad that they have put out a beta OSX client now. Goodbye Windows partition.
As I never played GW1 I can’t really remark on this. What was it that made the GW1 Necro so great?
Not trolling, I am genuinely curious.
A lot of things really, minions could be spawned to a large quantity, soul reaping gave you energy every time something died and because of that a lot of builds revolved around that. There was even team builds that featured just necromancers which was considered meta.
Yes, i can see the Largos becoming a playable race. I like how little is known about them also, making up a great area of content for the beginning of a personal story line.
Not sure what the character customization would be like for the Kodan, they all look the same as of now.
They added the feature on Guild Wars eventually, no doubt they will bring it to this game also, something to spend gems on!
Hello,
Currently the build i’m running on my necromancer is giving me good results.
It bases around wells, with the trait in the curses line that allows me to ground target them. Stacked up together while using death shrouds life transfer allows me to take out a mob in seconds.
I use a staff and Axe + focus, giving me a lot of skills that involve keeping enemies in the wells with cripples and chills.
Your best bet would be trying them all out when you log in to the game. Take each one too the hearts of the mists, play around with weapons and traits against the practice golems. Engineer’s can produce quite a lot of damage with pistols as well, with pistols being able to do some AoE damage to some extent, where theif’s and warriors firearms tend to deal with one target.
