These weapons are unique in appearance, require some resource gathering but aren’t as hard as legendary weapons and can still make you stand our from the more common weapons. I do believe these are “In-between”

Make a Alt. The difference between this and DA is that here we can have different background story (15 options at the start) but we all arrive at the same ending. My guess is that because this an MMORPG, we have to share an ending. Notice how your choice wont matter significantly in the next chapter for ME & DA

In the future we will be introduced to the other elder dragons so you can look forward to that for your main.

I would like a mount. one of the huge things about this game that disappointing me. They should make it available for those that want one, if you dont want one you dont have to have one, simple as that.

And after that you will want mounts to give you a significant advantage for the cost of the mount. Then you will complain that mounts cost too much. Then you will complain about the sound from the mount used for grieving. The list goes on…

I’d be fine with mounts as long as the majority of waypoints are removed.
One per map and that’s about it. Mount would need at leasy 60% speed buff tho.

most other race cultural weapons are pretty average as well, except the plant skins for sylvari if you are into that.

btw, u know you can get cultural weapons of other races right? Human cultural weapons share the AC skin but with a different tint

OMG. Fields of Ruins is a 30-40 area it will have both soft and seasoned wood; nothing changed. Just harvest everything you come across and sell them to buy soft wood. Seasoned is the rarest (outside ancient) anyways so you should be happy.

^ dungeon gear only offer 3 prefix choices (minor issue). Some prefix are not avaliable for ascended and backgear(major issue). Legendaries only have 1 prefix(major issue)

i only agree with the prefix change, but that’s because Anet refuse to fill the prefix-item gaps.

freely changing suffix and infusion, i cant justify since you can just buy a stack of them and certain runes and sigils are more expensive so being able to change will drop their price and rarity significantly. Would also be a problem if the unsold ones start to clog the TP months from now

1 time cost aren’t a sink. You also didn’t say how much the cost of FTS should increase. There are people with 50g in bank, and there are people with 50,000g in bank, please keep that in mind. We need to provide the 50,000g with a (cosmetic) way to sink their gold.

Please, enlighten us how this will encourage transmutation stones. Are you actually trying to reason that being able to change the skin at any time via a drop down menu will somehow do this?

it can be made such a way, such that, fine transmutation stones are required in order to unlock new skins and stats onto a single piece of equipment.

I suppose you are talking about scepter 2. Practice timing your block against huge attacks and it can save your life. necro dagger 4 doesn’t get used much as well but on the rare occasion that it does, its a life saver.

Full DPS only works for CoF p1. Especially since the previous patch adds a cooldown to consumable. Care to try CoF p3 with DPS?

I hope new content will reward diverse groups as well.

Avoiding Trinity wot work until every class can tank and suport as well as guardians, & dps as well as warriors (providing they are built&traited that way). Maybe with more skills to choose from….

The rangers greatest weapon is its mobility. Grenades wont get the job done. You will have more success with the Toolkit but that’s a different build.

I don’t understand how you get out-damaged by rangers. You should win in a DPS war.

Lets just agree that all 3 healing have their uses then. Elixir H is more of a solo skill for me.

I use(D) a simple 30,10,0,10,0 bomb elixir build. no multiple lvl 80 vets, either 1 vet + 4 or up to 8 lvl80 risen mob. This is what i do…

-Smoke bomb is basically a 4 sec invul.
-Elixir B + Fire bomb + confusion bomb wipes out most mobs before they can do anything within the 5th to 7th sec max. (except higher hp foes like etin)
- Failing that, ie against 2 to 3 vets, run in circles and spam bombs. Engage only when you can smoke, kite when it runs out.
- glue & big O’ are good for escaping in pve or pvp

I’m blind, yet you compared Elementalist defining ability (attunements) to engineers utility skill set (kits). I can tell i’m not gonna get anywhere with you. I’ve read your other posts in other threads, you just like to troll. my mistake for responding.

Engineers use utilities to compensate for lack of weapon swap.
Elementalists use their class mechanic to compensate for lack of weapon swap.

They are both unique but in a different way. There’s nothing wrong with that. The problem which i bought up and you refused to adress is that adding weapon swap will not help engineers solve the main problems we are forced to deal with. Attacks, Skills, turrets, kits, elites, traits, are still a problem. Fix those instead of adding weapon swap!

Dungeon paths concept: Lazy, unnecessary?

I enjoy that ArenaNet tried to add some variety to the dungeons, but when you take a magnifying glass to the concept, does it really hold water?

We have story dungeons that seem to always involve the squabbles of Destiny’s Edge, a group of heroes that are almost forced upon the player with little to no back story or concrete information pertaining to why these heroes even matter. Destiny’s Edge did something with the dragon, blah, blah, Logan ran away, blah. It’s almost as if Destiny’s Edge was created solely as a cheap plot device to churn out these horrible, shallow storylines.

Next, we have the explorable dungeon format which contains 3 (4 in Arah) “unique paths”. Great idea on paper and certainly an alluring marketing device, but let’s examine closely.

In my opinion, the dungeon path concept:

- Segments and marginalizes any narrative value to the main story.
- Diverges only slightly from a template in that the first few scenarios are always the same fights.
- Don’t really deliver any valuable story information and just generally seem like a lazy tack on. (Example, CoE dungeon doesn’t give you any new or different narrative between paths, you just decide on a new way to break out and have different, but mostly the same, boss encounters)
- Alienates the new players trying to do story from those trying to run explorable because of improper rewards.
-Not only does it alienate new players, but it creates an artificial schism in forming parties. Wouldn’t it be great if we could say LFG Ascalonian Catacombs Explorable rather than what path? We’d surely get groups faster without these arbitrary restrictions being that not everyone wants to run all paths because others are easier.
-They are imbalanced across the board in regards to difficulty.
- The required level…who decided on that? Ever try to run CM with a party at-level? It’s hard enough at 80 with exotics and no exploits. What message is this sending to new players?

So with this said, i really have to question the logic behind this design decision. Would it not have been better to just design one really spectacular explorable mode rather than 3-4 lazy ones? Seems like a hurried push for marketing purposes.

I for one hope that ArenaNet looks at this in the future and rethinks moving forward with this dungeon design format. Any thoughts?

The “paths” idea are actually good because IN THEORY it offers players choice instead being forced of the same dungeon over and over.

The problem is its not well implemented. The paths are not balanced. That’s their downfall.

Most of your complaints are about exploration (vs story) or dungeons in general. Dungeons are SUPPOSED to be higher difficulty content that rewards HIGH end items. Its natural that low levels are initially excluded until they are ready. Story Dungeons are actually easy and can be done by non-lvl80+exotics.

actually many cof runs for me do infact take 20 minutes. The problem is it don’t help that the premade speed run group do it much faster.

and if you make the speed run group take 20 minutes, what do you think happen to other pug? make them take 1 hour?

YOur second paragraph is an exaggeration. A slight adjustment would at most cause pugs to take 30 mins the most. The point is to make full dps groups unviable for this dungeon run.

Btw, with a good pug(non speed run) i can do p1 in 12 mins. With a bad one i take 25 mins. Theres no other dungeon thats this easy

Bomb kit is great for solo farming, allowing you to fight up to 8 monsters at a time.

Elixir R is more suited for (co-operative) PvE compared to Elixir S.

Med kit is best used when you are running away and constantly dropping fury+swift before combat.

Healing turret is used to cure conditions detonated/packed immediately to reduce cooldown i believe

Something is terribly wrong with this game. I don’t mind so much that they change things. What bothers me is

1. Their lack of response to certain issues in the game, numerous threads that they flat out WILL NOT respond to.
2. When they change things, sometimes they don’t even tell you what they changed our how they changed it and when you ask them about it you get…….nothing. One of the most ninja, annoying, frustrating, game companies I have ever been in a gaming relationship with.

I HAVE NEVER PLAYED A GAME WHERE THEY GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO RUIN YOUR GAMING EXPERIENCE!!I that may not actually be the case but it certainly feels that way sometimes)

1. Not every information is suposed to be known to customers. If you are talking about why is xxx class nerfed, then you failed to look at the bigger picture.
2. Read the patch notes. everything is there. Dont be paranoid.

Keeping players happy is how they keep their company afloat. If they are bad at it, the game would have been shut down by now.

Caldecus Manor is a lot easier. You should start with that.

DONT TANK BOSSES. Most of them usually have a 1 hit down attack. Dodge them. You will learn to recognize them after doing it a couple of times. Don’t give up.

Also no “one could tank” is not true. Its not easy but possible with the right build.

I argee the world chest buff was a amazeing step forward but everything cant keep geting “nerfed” just because ppl dont like it lol if u dont like CoF dont take part in it I farm world chests on 4 80’s every day its great amount of loot and gold made daily

My plan is quite the opposite. I’m going around telling everyone to farm CoF because its the best way to make gold in the game. I believe this(by accelerating the problem) is the only way to force Anet’s hand into the matter.

1. I’m not so optimistic that all the said activities would be balanced. One would sill be more profitable and people would just flock there.

2. Yes, please nerf CoF. It would at least slightly increase the value of gold. The numerous “speedrun for hours” posts on gw2lfg should be an indication of how people are exploiting this dungeon.

And as the people above mentioned, its not as hard as you think. The problem may have been that your first group lacked “dungeon experience” or maybe they aren’t equipped properly. I finished it on 3 characters and never spent more than 1hr + 15 mins even on the worst run. My most current run, last month, went very smoothly, no wipes.

Upon going underwater, a new skill bar is brought up as a player’s aquatic weapon is automatically equipped. Each weapon provides class-specific skills for use in underwater. Players can also set different healing, utility, and elite skills for underwater combat. Skills which can’t be used underwater displays a crossed waterdrop in their descriptions.

Bolded the important part where you missed exactly what I said. Some elite skills are locked from selection underwater. You dont get “unique” underwater utility or elite skills. The only" underwater skills" you get are weapon skills.

Creating a entire map where a players choice of elite skills may infact be completely unusable is bad design and should be ignored as an option.

Dang, I better stop using my Whirlpool then, eh?

My point was that most professions only have ONE underwater elite (cough necro), and things like traps, wells, +many others normal skills don’t work under water limiting a lot of builds and that’s unfair and boring (forced to use that one elite). I know how skills work and which skills are usable underwater. =.=

yes, despite all the future forum rage. But currently a lot of skills (especially elite) are locked underwater so its not advisable to make such a map until they improve the game a lot more

I hope the wont increase the level cap.

What’s the point? If you increase it by 10, i will reach it in 2 hours. The problem is all my gear, all the dungeons, crafting, mystic forge, pvp balance, etc (basically everything) will have to be re-adjusted.

I’d just rather quit

They all became Mystery Tonic which morphs randomly. Good thing because i used to have to sacrifice 20+ slots to keep them all
