Why is cloth tanking?

All cloth including linen, wool, and gossamer have fallen since patch. Was there just overspeculation/hoarding or is there something about the patch that makes them less important than wood/ore for the ascended weapons patch? Haven’t been able to log in yet so I don’t know.

A related question would be, what are the requirements to make bolt of damask and how much of it do you need to craft ascended armor?

This is commonly what happens when there is a month+ gap between weapons and armor and everyone has plenty of time to stockpile up because they KNOW its going to come out. I knew this was going to happen a long long time ago and highly doubted the prices would go up anymore than they already have. Next time dump 1-2 weeks early and don’t be greedy. Those that hold for every copper tend to lose a gold. Other games i’ve played had the same “hoard” and “dump” effect. Those who dumped early made a profit, those who sold a few days before or on update – lost their kitten .

If you’re just playing PvP for the achievement points then you don’t really belong in PvP at all…

Here we are trying to create a competitive environment and we’re getting dragged down by PvE players who need to farm their AP so they can brandish their big fat farm score to other farmers

How about this: take ALL of the achievements out of PvP so we don’t have lousy PvE players joining tournament matches to make their PvE score go pewpewpew

I guess you are talking to the general population of PvE players, I play PvE/WvW 1000x more than PvP but still am a top ranker in PvP or was before the ladder was reset. Not all PvE players are “bad” in PvP.

You only need to complete 4 of them. And you can simply use the same 4 you had to complete before. I am utterly confused. Am I missing something here?

These ap farmers don’t understand that not everything has to cater to their needs, as in, not everything can be handed to them. They’re mad that there’s a daily that rewards pvp’ers and not just the gw2 standard farmer/zerger.

Achievement Point are in the game just for that and there is a leaderboards to it. People are kitten ed because of the amount of time involved to do it now compared to yesterday, not that fact that you have to win. Hard achievements are fine, but making dailies take 6 hours a day instead of 2-3 is just stupid.

Ride the idiot wagon all you want.

Also comparing PvE and PvP players together as far as achievements go doesn’t make any sense. PvE has way more content and that means its going to have more achievements period. You can say the same for WvW then too.

Now if you are talking about dailies, then okay fine, add some achievements that don’t take 3 hours to do then.

Also add in PvP seasons like they did in WvW.

Not the way it was implemented.

You must complete them all if you want to rank up high on the leaderboards, now ANET is basically saying for those who already spend 1.5-3 hours a day to complete all the acheivements to spend an additional 3+ hours on top of it.

Basically this game is almost like a full time job, and where was the common sense on this kitten BEFORE it happened? This isn’t the first time this has happened and this update is complete trash. There are better ways to get people to play, forcing wins isn’t the way to go.

And another example of supremacy of pve

This is kittening redicilous, i’ve done my daily every single kittening day since launch nearly and I’m currently in the top 170 ranks. Now, I thought World Ranker was bad since it increased wvw dailies by 10x the effort, this is BEYOND bad, 8 WINS, not 8 games… but 8 WINS. They just added 2-3 hours to the daily if not more and just took a kitten on every person that did every single daily for the past year.

This is unacceptable and I will be quitting over stupid updates like this. I’m not going to dedicate myself to a game so they can try to get me to play another 3 hours a kittening day, some of us have jobs and families and if this was your plan from launch then we should have known this in advance, I would have saved 2 hours a day for the past year+ on dailies.

As someone pointed out, those 4 points a year are 1500 points+ and that makes a huge difference. We shouldn’t have to play 5 hours a day to get our daily complete. Simply kitten this.

apparently this is a thing now…. look its so easy to level up already. you can get to 80 in a day kitten . and besides the game doesnt get anymore fun when you hit 80 anyways so you might aswell give up now

I dont care how easy it was for you.

I care about how fun the game is for me. and being forced to grind for levels just to gain access to the fun features which I paid for, is not good at all.

levels are easy for you, but boring and grindy for me.

You should be bowing before ANET then, most MMO’s are 10x worse as far as leveling goes and the dynamic events.

Also guild wars 2 has some fast leveling compared to a lot of other MMO’s I’ve played which sounds like you’d be even more miserable playing those than this game.

-You can level with crafting still which is unique.
-You can level with zergs in WvW while may be inconsistent, anyone can roam a map all day and capture sentry/dolyak/camps and the 3 veterans which is pretty consistant but being a low level you’ll need a few friends to do it with.
-You can do PvE zones and work on 100% world completion.
-You can also get a break from levels now with a level 20 xp scroll from a 1 year old character reward or a 5k AP chest on top of new scrolls that grant you a level up (I currently have 11 from WvW season 1 reward + the new tower)
-You can just level gathering resources and making a heap of money off mid-level materials too.
edit: oh yeah, forgot to add
- Dungeon completion gives you 77% of your level + all the mob xp
- Dailies give you around 5% per achievement, most of which are super fast

Either way there are plenty of ways to level and most MMO’s do not provide that so wouldn’t complain too much. If you are that picky here, I can already assume you would be miserable anywhere else.

Materials nerf is coming?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Or all ANET has to do is provide more use to these materials to increase the demand for them or reduce the amount coming into the game via salvage or allow leather/silk to not be salvaged so often compared to wood/ore.

Leather/silk isn’t widely as used as wood/ore since wood/ore are needed for making level 80 rare weapons which people forge for precursors.

Doesn’t mean they have to increase the amount needed to convert them but it’s possible.

Bots reached level 80 in there a long time ago, back when the centaurs commonly dropped loot bags.

That wouldn’t be legit though.

Also to the OP, I imagine you stored lots of materials and boosters in your bank, used the 2 week access banker to pull out crafting tables, boosters or even some perm contacts if it took over 2 weeks and speed level to 80 in a few hours for like 100g.

I could see this being very doable and also very fast and easy if you had money and crafting tables which I have a lot of gold and a few tables but I don’t know if anyone has bothered to attempt to do this before.

/played should tell you how long you’ve played that character, hour wise.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Osi.3504

I’m rank 170 or so right now, I agree the daily is very tedious and unfun to an extent even if you want to have a high rank and the only way to maintain a high rank is to hope others quit, give up, or take a break.

I could have potentially been one of the very top ranks in the game minus the full points from HoM gw1 because I am a veteran launch player and did completely my daily everyday. However after seeing the infinity achievements + super high screenshots during last Halloween (2012) I only did 5 dailies per day and stopped doing my sPvP for a few months cause I figured I could salvage a zillion points if I wanted except they put a cap on salvaging putting me behind the leaders by around 1500 achievement points as I couldn’t get back the poins I missed. While that’s my fault, ANET should have been more clear on the system and their intentions with the points and they can be blamed too.

The achievement system is flawed for new players as it gives too many one time earned points like living story and the daily/monthly. This system doesn’t need to grow anymore and I agree with the OP because it already sucks taking two hours+ a day to completely my daily as it is and certain changes not long ago sucked like World Ranker, that one change makes WvW 10x longer as you need 10,000 wxp than to capture 5 camps or kill 5 dolyaks/sentries which is around 500-1,500 wxp to complete than the other achievements so there is a lack of time balance within the dailies. One day it may take 1.5 hours, the next day it may take 3 hours.

Kill the Queensdale champion train.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Osi.3504

Players will also gravitate towards these kinds of simple mindless loot opportunities when they are in the game.

Unfortunately, this leaves many other engaging group events in the world untouched and other zones desolate.

While I applaud the players resilience for staying with such a dull manifestation of the game, I feel Anet should take an approach akin to paternalism* and remove the Queens zerg, in order to force change and diversity.

This may upset some players, who feel they should be able to play how they want to play, but sometimes the world demands an authority or organization to guide us gently towards perfection.

Who is with me?

NB:

**"Paternalism" comes from the Latin pater, meaning to act like a father, or to treat another person like a child, limiting some person or group’s liberty or autonomy for their own good.

Lighten up pal and get a grip. If people are having fun then leave them be. If you want people to play in other areas of the game then provide some incentive so they will play in mid zones by their OWN CHOICE with certain special drops in each area because killing a level 1-10 train won’t fix the problem as people will just move somewhere else and do the same thing over again.

There is already some incentive to go to mid zones because the materials there are worth quite like trees/ores a bit but it’s not enough to catch many peoples attention and T1-4 mats are so cheap due to the sheer amount it takes to upgrade the materials to a higher tier in the forge there isn’t much incentive for white-rare bags except to level your characters from the event xp + karma.

Also with living story content always aimed in low areas, high places will never flourish again due to it constantly going on every two weeks.

People like queensdale to level characters because most of the champions are events, it’s a low area, they get good drops and can talk to a lot of people if they wish. That must stay or people will be unhappy. As I was saying before, if you want diversity there needs to be incentive to get people to spread out by their own choice in the level 20-70 zones and living story content doesn’t help that any as it isolates people in the same area till they move to the next living story. A good reason Orr died.

Also please stop trying to enforce what people do on video games as it comes off wrong, the USA already has enough of that bullkitten going on with worthless politicians who think they know what’s best for people who are already happy and doing their own flick, let people have fun and as new things come out, people will change their habits by their own choice rather than your own.

Incentive must be there, without it, nothing changes or you just make people unhappy. A good picture of what happens in the real world.

PSA: Stealth is not invincibility

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Osi.3504

Stealth sucks on gw2, everyone cries about stealth because they run around squishy and not realizing that the thief role is to dish out amazing burst damage.

While I agree perma stealth is somewhat silly, the basic thief does not win over stealth, they tend to win because other players do not gear properly against burst cannons or they have very slow reactions or know how to counter a thief then come on here to QQ how their berserker ranger got two shot.

So what does ANET do? keep getting rid of stealth slowly with updates, giving rangers reveal… allowing arrows to HEAT SEEK after you stealth which is so unrealistic and you have to dodge after stealthing now to get around that…

Stealth is actually bad in sPvP due to how caps are designed… you are punished for it basically and your class is about evades.

Thief class becomes odd every month of changes.

Either they have already started on the expansion and won’t give us information about it going on or it wont be for many years from now because creating an expansion is no short term thing, it usually takes years so they must have it planned ahead of time.

When WoW releases a brand new expansion, they already have people working on the next one to release it 2 years later.

Moving is not hard, you just need to adjust like you would have to with many games…

using WASD allows you to press 12345, if you don’t like that and you want to use the arrowkeys that badly, you can try to keybind your skills to the keys around the arrowkeys instead but I don’t know why you just don’t use the WASD cause it’s way more convenient anyways.

last resort, buy a Razer Naga for like $50-70 and it has 1-12 buttons on the side of the mouse that you can use for keybinds, so you are able to use the arrowkeys and control the camera while using skills with your thumb.

The game is not pay 2 win even though you can, if you are wise and can get ahead of the curb you can make 1000’s of gold a month which is more gold than you can convert to gems to buy the content they do put on the gem store. This game has possibilities to play for free and still get EVERYTHING. While I agree free models are not the best for content because those who are use to paying $15 a month and getting everything the game offers this game makes you have to farm a lot of gold in-game each month or break down and actually pay real money which is sadness to get the equal content you should for $15 on another MMO.

That’s the unfair part about f2p, it hurts the dedicated gamers.

And if they don’t get people to keep spending money month after month how do you suggest they survive?

They have already given several bonuses to people that have bought gems (kite, minis) so I don’t really see how they don’t reach out to their “loyal contributors”.

First off they give those out to everyone, not the players who spend a lot, secondly they make millions and more than enough for guild wars 2 alone. From what I read GW2 has made more money than GW1 has in it’s first 7 months than GW1 has in 7 years and they have sold 5 million less copies of the game. We don’t get to choose that they spend most of the money on other games that we dont even support to play so that shouldn’t be our problem but they make it our problem with content we should get for supporting the game without having to spend 1000’s of dollars or playing the game 80 hrs a week to farm enough gold to convert into gems since anet suck ups always love to say “you can buy it with gold!”

I’ve read most of your post and you seem to really support anets flawed ways of doing things. Anet is great company, they make a great game and I love the beauty they put into their art but that doesn’t mean I agree with how they run as a business. While I know NCsoft pulls most of the strings, anet can decide what to do too I’m sure.

Also for most people that don’t know, cash shop systems tend to make more money than subscription models for reasons, don’t think ANET doesn’t make good money.

Hello, while I am happy to see a promotion item come around to all to fill the empty spot in the bank that most people don’t have the chance to go to a real world event to get. I disapprove how you are doing it “some what” and want to explain why or how I think you should have done it or do it next time.

While most people will be happy just to see it offered and basically ‘free’ it’s truly not as it’s a promotion to get those who normally wouldn’t spend $50 this month (especially during Christmas when people are already cramped with costs) to spend $50 to get this “great offer” and most people would be fooled by the marketing scheme. You need to stop showing signs of milking players every single month and show some gratitude also to loyal customers, this shouldn’t have only been offered to players who spend $50 this month, but also to players who may have a few hundred bucks over the year.

I see too many milking schemes like black lion keys which I give you props on changing it but I think you had to with the amount of forum rage and not enough loyal reward-ness from ANET and just want to offer my suggestion and you to show us loyal contributor players some respect like kinda did with the dragon bash mini in a way.

I am happy to see Mr. Sparkles come, don’t get me wrong but ANET really needs to reach out to their loyal contributors at times, not only make them feel like they need to continue to spend month after month. While you may make a lot of money short term off it, long term people lose faith in you and won’t bother to spend a nickel.

Many people have to much karma already for that to work. If they gave more options for spending it then it might work. My suggestion is really only a band-aid and at the same time would give more options for some of the rewards in the game so nothing is locked away behind certain types of content.

Yes, if we had more in-game content and less gem shop content, we would see gold/karma/other sinks which would encourage people to play out of LA more.

I hate the idea and this won’t ever happen unless we have a hugeeeeeeeeee lack of players and to many areas to go. The reason they probably even did it in the first place was the lack of players in comparison to the 4 large worlds you had people spread out on.

Annual Gem Store Fee to collectors

in Suggestions

Posted by: Osi.3504

Osi.3504

Hi, I just wanted to post a simple idea for feedback, this is more aimed at players that love collecting content. I don’t know about all of you but when I played other subscription games I paid $5-$15 a month and I was able to earn everything in-game and collect everything. Guild Wars 2 is full of discontinued items and “limited time” items which is to try to persuade you to buy it now than later. This in a sense is disrespectful to a lot of players that realize how this works and it feels like the care more about my wallet than making the game enjoyable for players.

I’m a collector, it’s just my in-game hobby and it’s something I’ve done on every MMO I’ve played. Now gw1 was far superior than gw2 due to the sheer amount of money needed to buy all the content.

First week of December you need 2000 gems to buy all mini’s + helms and I’m sure we’ll see a lot more items on the 10th, like the x-mas finishers.

I’m all for supporting Guild Wars, even if most of the money from the gem shop is shamelessly going to other games but as a collector I don’t think it’s fair that we have to pay like $1,000 a year to get all content that most MMO’s give you for your $180 in subscription fees per year. Most people who don’t support the game or people who are oblivious to collecting generally say “you don’t have to collect” or “you can buy the items with gold” yet not everyone has the time to play 80 hours a week to earn the gold the legit way to buy all the gem shop content each month, or should they be told they “don’t have too” collect the content when they should be able to in a reasonable manner like most MMOs, especially if they are supporting the game and are the type of people you want playing the game to keep it growing and players around.

My overall view is Guild Wars 2 is ripping their collector players hard just to pay for those who play the game for free and this is unfair and disrespectful.

My idea was to allow us to pay a “large” one time fee to get one of every gem store item for a full year. Where the typical subscription fee may be $15 a month but I realize you need to make more money per player to pay for those who play for free, why not sell us a gem store annual thing for say $400 a year or 32,000 gems (which you can trade in-game gold for)?

This would show your loyal collectors and players you are not trying to empty their wallets and respect us that actually buy into your game rather than overwhelming us with expensive content… while you may lose some annual money on big collectors, at least you’ll be being fair to us AND show us some respect. I’m sure you lose a lot of collectors over the overwhelming costs both RL or in-game to keep up with this games re-skins etc…

Overall as a collectors perspective, this game system layout is shameful especially compared to guild wars 1.

Any thoughts from others? Would love feedback, suggestions etc.

Disrespect in gem store

Heres some truth, most of the money earned on this game goes to NCsoft, I assume they must keep 90% of the money because ANET gives us little content and when it comes to skins and armor it’s always reskins because it’s easier and cheaper to make.

So my opinion is, every 10 dollars spent we actually get 2 dollars worth of content back which has to be “quickly” made because they can’t afford to hire more people or spend too much time doing it.

This is why games by Blizzard succeed very well as a subscription model and games that only create an MMO to milk people for cash and use 90% of that money towards other games fail horribly after a short period of time.

I loved gw1 model much more, gw2 is becoming a joke trying to get people to buy every “limited” item they make which seems to be bi-weekly now.

had 3 since the event on 230-250 gold – now sold finally

jetpack is an ugly item – only worth cause its rare – i would not bet it goes much higher cause noone rly look for it and 750g? – never

Everyone has different opinions on every single item in game. Just because you find it ugly doesn’t mean millions of others will, that’s like saying I like Pepsi and everyone else does, there is always someone with different taste in just about anything. I personally like the jetpack over any other backpack, the close 2nd would be the fully upgraded fractal backpack but that’s my personal taste. I like the jetpack because it’s unique, looks cool to me, it only lacks a shiny effect, and yes, it’s rare, another nice thing about it and just like a lot of people who want legendary items because not many have them, it would be similar to “some” people with backpacks.

I wouldn’t be surprised “IF” they stay discontinued and are slowly used over the new few years that some people would prefer to have a super rare (cool looking to them) backpack over a legendary item they can get anytime. So I would bet they could be worth 1000’s of gold in the long future. The person that may be willing to spend 1000’s of gold may not even play the game yet, and the price may not reach that for years yet, assuming they stay limited/discontinued.

Well from my understanding, the Jetpack was meant to stay rare and be limited like certain exotic mini’s but I could be wrong. It’s possible they will return with the molten facility fractal but then they would have to do that with all the other limited time backpacks. We already know the SAB blue backpack is gone forever so I wouldn’t be surprised if that happens to any of the living story back packs too.

People should have forseen this back when they released, I did back during release considering it’s the oldest(first) living story item plus it was rare from the start compared to the others that have been released and that’s why I bought a bunch. I don’t plan on selling them however and may even use them on alts.

I’m sure there is still a good 100 or more in circulation right now between active accounts and people that have taken a short break, the difference between these items and others like discontinued mini’s is once it’s used, it’s gone forever, a mini can be resold forever.

Champion Bags were crazy. Every bag was like 8 to 10 silver into the game…. that’s a lot of “actual coin” entering the game. It’s not like getting a expensive drop and selling it for 500 gold, you didnt produce 500 gold into the game, you exchanged it with another player, where champion bags are adding CONSTANT money into the game. I seen this was going to happen when champion bags first came out. Also assuming post players are salvaging blues and greens now, that’s another gold sink on top of itself too.

119 gold for 25 keys "on sale"

Osi.3504

That’s ridiculous.
It takes me about 20 mins max (because of loading screens) to farm 1 key on a warrior and complete that level 10 personal story at level 6.
8.3 hours for 25 keys.
Making 119 gold takes forever unless you’re playing the market.
Items in black lion chests are mostly useless unless you’re still leveling crafting, still leveling alts, and actually like the skins you get with scraps. When you can use 119 gold to get a far better looking weapon.
With 8.3 hours of farming keys you could farm dungeons for all kinds of useful drops.
The chance of getting a permanent type item from the chest is less than a 0.00%.

Why are keys still so expensive a year into the game?

NO ONE, NOT ONE PERSON SHOULD EVER BUYS KEYS! (unless you want the Endless tonic)

Do the math, $20 bucks would give you 80 gold… what do you think you’ll get from 25 chest?

Most likely not a ticket, perhaps a few scraps but most likely not 10 scraps… and the contracts are like a 1 in 10,000 chance. There is NOTHING worthwhile or worth a gamble in these chest PERIOD. You are better off trading your cash or gems for GOLD and buying anything you want, with the exception of the Endless Tonic.

This applies to many things… Mini Packs… really… cmon guys, do the MATH. 800 gems = $10/40 gold, 800 gems almost gives you 3 packs with a 1 in 3 chance to get a yellow. 3 packs of mini would give you less than 15-20g worth of minis on AVERAGE.

People need to think about it before they waste money. I feel soooo bad for the countless fools that bought keys and got half of what they could have if they just exchanged it for gold……. 2,000+ rare minis on the trading post tells me they sold well over 100,000 keys to fools.

Hello, I posted here awhile ago but didnt get much help and because I was getting hard drive critical error crashes in dungeons and couldnt check my hard drive for errors since it always said it was in use. I finally rebooted my pc brand new and planned to redownload the game because repairing it didnt help any to find out if it would fix the issue or if it was truely a hardware issue on my end. First issue was my ethernet device was gone… so i downloaded it from the internet on a USB device on an older computer im currently using and playing on and transfered it, now internet works. This is my next problem……. /sigh

Fatal Error: Fatal disk-error (23) on write,

That is not good. I would do a check disk; may have a failing hard disk.

Open “computer” and right click on “C:” drive and choose “properties”. Under the tools tab there is a button “Check now”. Click that and run the disk check.

I tried to do that but cannot, I only have a C drive and D (disk drive) and when I try to preform that action it says it’s in use and if I would like to “schedule” it but when I click to it just disappears and nothing happens.

I was going to just restore my computer to factory settings but im unsure how, there is no f11 option at start up and using windows 7 CD saves my files and reboots the platform, I assume I need to “format” my C drive to turn it back to factory settings but just like above when I try to do it, it says it’s in use and nothing happens….

Clueless how to solve this.

GW2 crashing 100% of the time in any Dungeon.

Hello, I’ve been experiencing this problem for a few days now, it’s only my computer as I can use others and I don’t get fatal error crashes in a dungeon. I originally thought it was just the Bloody Prince but I can’t do anything dungeon related or I crash.

I repaired Guild Wars 2 following advice from a Dev in a much older thread, it repaired and I ran the game and instantly crashed once I entered Bloody Prince. I’ve sent in several error reports and never recevied word back from Arena Net.

Now that the repair didn’t work I’m hopeless, anyone else have the same issue or know whats wrong? WvW, PvE zones, Spvp works just fine.

Anet Crashes The Mini Market Again

in Black Lion Trading Co

Osi.3504

They did it with the Mini Holographic Risen Knights’ release and now it’s the same thing again with Mini Caithe and Scarlets. Mini prices have fallen by 100% in some cases.

It’s almost like Anet devs don’t know that throwing minis into the Mystic Forge is a thing that players do.

I love Minis and have had all of them for nearly a year, but I’m done with holding onto an item that Anet continually causes to crash in value by introducing more “Rare” minis that are easily attainable and no one wants (i.e. Mystic Forge Fodder). I’ll just wait for the prices to artificially inflate again and sell off.

To make this somewhat constructive: 1. Design Minis that People actually want as rewards. 2. Stop introducing absurdly common minis as “Rares.” 3. Listen to Players’ persistent requests for improved Mini functionality. Something as a simple as a tab that allows you to auto-deploy a mini instead of having to go into your bags and click it every time you’re Downed or change maps/instances.

/RantOver

This update was intended because of the announcement that pack 1 was going away there was a lot of demand on the exotics not just from legit owners but also merchants, this was a way for them to give to the community and say to the merchants, you aint going to make people pay 300g for a exotic when they shouldn’t have too.

Also prices are about what they were before the crazy “hype” happened which should be irrelevant because you can STILL FORGE the set 1 exotics… nothing truly changed, the hype was over nothing but it happened because enough people was worried about it in the first place.

Prices are fundamentally driven by supply and demand. The supply of Set 1 Minis is now limited as the primary means to acquire one is gone. True you can try to forge one but that requires four minis to be tossed in for every one, which may not be a Set 1, to pop out. There is no way that forging is going to provide anything close to the supply from buying a Set 1 and selling off the extras. So supply has become scarcer and as long as real demand remains greater then the price will likely rise. It’s not hype, it’s Eco 101.

You are missing the bigger picture, 99% of the mini’s come into the game from mini packs, 2 out of 3 times it’s a green + 2 blues, and 1 out of 3 chance it’s a rare. From my knowledge it’s not possible to get exotics from mini packs, and if it is, it must be really low chance that it’s irrelevant. Look at how many exotics are on TP… that’s from FORGING, just because pack 1 is gone doesn’t change anything, it just means there will be less set 1 rares and greens entering the game, exotics however always come from forging, and because of this it doesn’t mean a thing that set 1 is removed, they will STILL be forged from set 2 mini’s.

Edit: Also to note, set one has far more Rares and Exotics, probably to even demand out because chances are when forging you will get a set 1 rare or exotic over set 2, making them far more common when forging. Pretty sure that was intended.

[WvW] - Rework WvW Guild Buffs & Claiming

in Suggestions

Posted by: Osi.3504

Osi.3504

So right now from what I see is the system is pretty flawed, one guild can claim a keep for a week with or without buffs and you can never re-claim it with new Guild Buffs… it needs to be change.

I want to suggest changing it so once the keep/tower/camp etc. has NO guild buffs active (+5 supply, +40 power etc.) it automatically declaims so someone else can do it too or just make it so you can’t claim anything unless you are offering WvW guild buffs. I run around WvW all day wanting to claim keeps with my guild buffs but they are all taken by clueless people or guilds that buffs has ended ages ago. We shouldn’t be punished to have to wait to lose a fully fortified keep to reclaim it again.

If making it so people can’t claim a tower/keeps etc. for their amusement and see their flag on the place then please at least allow those with buffs or more guild buffs to override those who claim and do not.

Please address and fix this!

I’m currently banking corn until I’ve unlocked the crafting recipes (Jeweler, Cooking, etc.) requiring them. Then it’s Sell-High-Buy-Low-City baby. If the price never tanks this year, I just de-list my orders and buy/make some 20-slot bags the old fashioned way. I’m not interested in the mini or skin recipes anyway.

Buy, it’s not worth making 20 slot candy corn bags unless it’s like 7 copper each.

Anet Crashes The Mini Market Again

I don’t really see the comparison to the last time. those knights were selling for like 1s each. You could forge thousands of them without a problem.

Scarlet and Caithe are >5g each. at 20g a forge you are averaging 100g per exotic. You’ll almost always come out with a loss. If people are selling minis for less it is because they are desperately trying to recoup some of the money they lost trying this.

Completely wrong, bid prices have been around 4 to 4.5g for many days now which is 16g a forge so you end up spending 80g for 5 tries and most of the time you’ll get a set 1 rare which resells back for 8g after taxes. You lose more like 40-50g per exotic (IF YOU AVERAGE 1 PER 5) but getting the Moa or Twisted wouldn’t help you and getting a dry streak of 30 would probably hurt too much.

I actually got a good 80 of these mini’s in one night for 3.6g each and make about 600g with average results but that was like a week ago when most exotics were 140-160g and I also got lucky and never got a Moa or Twisted exotic.

Greatsaw Skin?

in Blood and Madness

Posted by: Osi.3504

Osi.3504

How are we supposed to get this skin? Right now the only one on the TP is 900+ gold.. and there isn’t a recipe for it. Even the “Mad King Chest” you could make in the MF last year is gone!

This can’t be a “BLTC or no skin for you” situation… DON’T RUIN THE HOLIDAY EVENT ANET!

Anet has messed up with this living story in multiple ways… there was 26 greatsaw skins for about 250-300g and they were all bought out, because 1 is listed for 1000g doesn’t make it worth while, 25 more are floating around out there waiting to be listed or dumped on people who are silly enough to place lots of high orders.

If Anet is smart they will re-release these, even if it’s for 10 tickets.

Ghastly Grinning Shield Skin

For all the people that are lacking logic right now, if you take a moment to look at the ticket vendor the price is based on how old the weapons are, fused were 1 ticket during jan/freb, now it’s 7… there is pretty much an increase of 2-3 each set back it goes… so as I was saying, THE LEAST they could do is add them on the vendor for 10 tickets rather then throwing them away.

Previous Year Halloween Items

Osi.3504

Yeah but earlier there was 26 greatswords listed, so expect to tie up that gold for a long time and get undercut lots, reason I didn’t buy the shields or swords, can make more money doing other things.

What ANET needs to do is add the old BLC skins for 10 claim tickets, I find it really sad every skin has been made available except h’ween series 1.

Technically, the Southsun Cove skins aren’t available on the BLC either. Though they’re dirt-cheap on the TP so its not that much of an issue as it is with the Halloween skins.

Before supply ran out they pumped more into the economy and I’m sure they’ll do it again in the future. When they did add them back in they disabled the chest recipe you could use in the forge for the old exotic mini’s to keep them limited.
