Hi.
Our guild do smalescale guerilla warfare regulary behind enemy lines. We like to show that a 8-14 ppl team can make a big difference in a borderland. Hitting a camp, moving to next. using 2 x mesmer timewarps and 2 x portls to troll and harass enemy zergs.
Focus is also to have alot of fun.

I duelist cannot hit for 6k on anybody. It can max 4k on cloth every 8 seconds. Zerker can hit for 4k max per attack. If you see a higher number than this, it’s because you’ve been attacked by the same attack (8 seconds in between each) multiple times. These are the mesmers main attacks. What else would you have them attack with? If you think it’s so crazy, take the 15 minutes I did to make a mesmer and go beat on some dummies for a bit.
Confusion is such a joke of an ability it isn’t even worth mentioning. Unless you have over 700+ condi damage (which you won’t in the power build you’re griping about) a 6+ stack of confusion will hit maybe for 600 each attack. I tried rolling condition/blind/confusion spec before but realized it was just simply inferior to power builds against other classes.
And you would seriously rather die in 2 seconds before saying Boo, than to die because either you think the class that killed you is overpowered, or you were less skilled than them or whatever?
I bend over and kiss the ground whenever I hear that ‘tink’ noise from Cloak and Dagger because I know within a second I’m very likely going to die.
Dont forget we are the class of many dmg sources, al this focus on “this single hit was xxxxk high” etc kinda is irrelevant. You will not bam instagib ppl with 1 attack as mesmer, we have burst yes, enought to close to instagibb ppl aswell but you cant track the dmg to a single ability as you do with thives. Reguarding confusion uselssness i dissagree. I dont play with a single gear piece in wvwvw with condi dmg on but still see ppl take 1,7k confusion hits, mainly due to stacking dmg from % abilitys and might.
Have a look at the ele at 6.20. He will not say confuion and codition dmg of mesmers dont hurt. Alone they would ofc not done alot but stacked with the other crits its nasty stuff.
Ps I dont find thives be sutch pain in sPvP as this thread say. Yes some are but thats more the condi stacking ones. The glasscannon spammers cant do alot vs deversion and al other tricks. I rather go vs a thief any day than against a bunker necro or 10-10-20-25-10 mesmer with vitality and toughtnes gear.

Only reason somone think shatter mecanics are weak is that they do it wrong imoa. Lie winterfell said Shatter is the strongest ability we have not only in dmg but in utility aswell.

Y Lole, cause the burst is now… 6% less thats awfull, if he crited al attacks that would give only 16k~ instead off 17k, that like nothing.

True ppl play the game for different reasons but you cant demand the dev,s to balance the game around every aspect. Thy have to chose what make the game feel balanced and to sort a class around farming mobs in a zerg of 30 players is not a priority. Also I feel we with wrack and bf can do enought burst to get loot. yes we cant constanly deliver big aoe ofer a area if that waht some mean but we can go to a grp of npc,s or what i prefere and burst teh eyes of of em. Had a burst in wvwvw yesterday when i caught a grp of 5 players looking down a cliff trying to deccide if tehy could jump or now, got 4 down in a few seclast one jumped. Time warp + shatters and sword is amazing.

Cause this game is al about farming? Lol serius you qq about the class cause you cant grind fast enought? Go play some Korean game Faitless cause you seem to play the game for wrong reasons.
We melting faces in pvp atm adn will keep do that, we have mabye the games strongest burst on up to 3 targets and more skills/tricks to survive than most other classes. About pve the games is wonderfull and I running instaces explo in a grp of 3 mesmers + 2 others regulary.

Hehe @ lolle, sorry for not catch u gender but in a universe where ppl call em self “Turtles All The Way Down” and “Roven leafsong” i cant realy say the name say alot about the gender of the person behid the screen.
About our direct dmg being low, cant realy say shatters is not direct dmg, its a dmg where you need sertan items yes but sois a dot or a area on the ground dmg spell aswell. And if your dmg from our caracter would be in line with thieves ect they need to take al our dmg away form our phantasm etc and only have them to distract tbh.

The silentflute, Thieves got nerfed aswell. Rangers are not realy a porblem for us in pvp and we rolling faces as it is in pvp in any 1 vs 1 situation exept vs another mesmer or a guardian
I btw dont think our dmg in instances is low, we have good survivability and lvling have never been a pain.
Again this whining is not cause they broke the class. Its cause they made it a little more skill demanding to get maximum output. But ofc that is not what the big masses want is it.

Numot you nailed it, why keep your phantasm as a pet? And for good sake try experement some, Ic anpersonaly recomend the 20-20-20-0-10 shatter phantasm hybrid who get a iswordman up, full burst of al abilitys and end with a superb 20-20 buffed 3 clone mindwrack, owwer to staff and end him. or just go to the burst shatter specces.
This is totaly unchanged by this patch.

have hard to undertsand how anyone can be suppriced that the phantasm build been nerfed. It been allowing Mesmers to keep 15 points in toughtness and 25 in vitality + do dmg of most professions glascannon builds. It had a extremly low skill cap, worked (working its not gone for good cause of this. Sky IS NOT FALLING) like a hellfire missile, release and forget, collect loot.
I kinda impressed with arena net, they reached the problem at same time as they accualy DID NOT nerf our owerall dmg for other builds. They could as easy just added 10% less dmg to al phantasms and forgoet about us again. Only change i dont realy understand is chaos field but i guess it has a reason, as chaos armour got lesser cd the defensive side of our profession dint take a to bad hit by this anway.
The shatter builds dont get affected at al realy but they demand higher skill to use ofc. Just ahve a look at Winterfell, mine or Flimsy,s shatter gameplay and then have a loo thought before call our class underpowered now.

I agree with alot in your build but I dissagree with Focus as a stable offhand. I sure you see benefist form it etc but in my opinion focus is a hf you always carry…. in your bag to use as a extra utility. When running out of battle, open bag use speed buff change back wo pistol/sword. Yes the speedbuff/pull is amasing skill on focus but the warden is underpreforming in al ways. It in no way synergice with sword MH as a pistol. Its alot less effective in a 1 vs 1 or 1 vs 2 situation to carry and I think thats why you mention in description the build is less effective vs 2 opponents.

I often got my highest burst when I started with staff, got Iwarlock up and 2 clines from illusion, off to sword, I warlock crit+ blurred f + 4 x sthatters folowed by a fast confusionnshatter. Not sure on exact numbers but as its fun to look at I will try and se if i can catch some on film.
Had a 3+ mind wrack / clone on a vurnable stacked elementalist yesterday but was not soloing him and last did hit when he was already downstate.

Ty Winterfell, will start work on a new vid if i have time next week. Runes im wery happy with now, if I play 10-30-0-0-30 or 20-25-15-10 I play 10 to al stats 2% crit dmg al the way. If I play 20-20-20-0-10 I use 4 x ogrie and 2 × 10 stats 2 % crit dmg as this is kinda my survival build and the dog have a habit of save me.
On Sigils im not 100% sure yet and would love if you have any suggestion. I use the endurance on staff as I often after my BF do a ddge to shatter 3 x clones and myself, then change to staff for full energy, use mirror and a dodge for 3 x confusion shatters + some dmg. this give the highest burst imoa + you save some energy.
But on pisol / sword im not 100% sure yet, atm I run with 5% crit 5% dmg. The dmg seem viable but the crit, im not sure. Suggetsions?

In the 10-30-0-0-30 build I use both 50 precision + cd reduction on sword AND range + cd reduction on pisol + clone spam on dodge. I feel i cant be without any of them and the 100 prec 10% crit dmg is a nice bonus. I do not use 20% crit chanse for my clones in the named build as my base crit is high already.
In the 20-25-15-0-10 build who is more 50/50 on dmg for phantasm/shatters I use fury, I have the 5 points in dueling for 50 prec 5% crit, alternative you put it in chaos for a 20-20-20-0-10 defensive staff gamestyle build. I play both of this but as I find I have no problems survive in 20-25-15-0-10 by smart use of staff I tend to favort this build.
PS the 50/50 build I often use staff+s/s on the side of normal staff+s/p

Yeah, have collected theorycrafting on that thread as its wery interesting. Always trying to find new ways to play my favorite class in any game I play so own experemening is important to be a better player in my opinion.
The build is a 10-30-0-0-30 build trying out a hybrid 20-25-15-0-10 some aswell atm and like it alot. But if you a reaction player and want to outplay ppl the burst 10-30-0-0-30 is extremly strong.
Not realy a beginners build thu as… you die if you do wrong. But as you se in the last battles played correct is hard to kill a mesmer using the build.

Team <Judge> just want to thank those who joined us in our smal (and big) scale of fun pvp in the FR borderlands last night. Realy showed that even a smal guild (we only had a team of 8 ) can do some great capping and difference. Chaining mesmer time Warp help alot ofc. Also the gameplay get alot more rewarding and fun with a little organication. Extra ty to Cecilia Cambell from <Iron> and Jrc un guilded who sticked arund alot of the time.

In WvWvW you sometimes always endup in a siege or zerg fight. Get a ranged wep in your bag, shoot some/longbow when needed. I always carry 2-3 set ow weps even if I favour the mele ones.
Still nothing forces you to participate in the big zergs. Often its not even the most effective way. Get some friends and have a 4-6 man team roam around. Hit some camps and caravans etc. In this smal battles mele do winders. Have a mesmer drop time warp for you and your smal team clear the camp before the 10 sec buff is out ready to move on to next camp.

Hi Qtrkobra, happy you getting a structured pvp guild but im member in Judge a 6-7 year old guild acctive in several games. We do teambased PvP in GW 2 WvWvW in smal groups already even if we might have a bit differen approach.
Focus is cap camps and points, hit caravans and do guerilla warfare plus have fun. Make the enemy hate us is the longtime goal.
Last night after raided thru 3 camps with a 5 man team capped and moved on using mesmer speed buff and some other class synergy we ended up on the top north roof with a vista. Defended this roof with 5 man using portals and knockdown vs 20-25 FR untll the french started to build siege
Just an example on fun you can have as a guild. We made some enemys in Gunnars Hold last night I think after claimed a floating island in the jumping puzzle for Desolation a longer time. Using puchbacks and knockdown to kick ppl down in the water.

I agree on that we need to have some structured guilds running hits on keeps etc, even a minor group of 7-12 ppl in a guild can get enought following players to have cordinated attacks or defenses. Another thing hitting me in the WvWvW of our server is that we dont have enought smaller hit squads capping points and dissorganice the enemy. A 5 man team capping a camp hitting some caravans and then move on give points to the server, even if its a short time they hold it in the end its ponts. a 30-30 man zerg fighting in borderlands ower the other invading forces tower for 3-4 hours without cap anything accualy give nothing in terms of points.
Also I sure there is alot of extremly good and strategic players on our server, if they could share ideas etc in a polite way and the unexperienced players could accualy lissten we would come a long way. This morning we had the wall down on the fortification and could land siege on DB, we even had numbers do do so. But ppl keept hitting the door when it was a big hole in the wall just 100 yards to the east, and even after the ppl gone thru the hole they…. started attack the door from the inside. Lilke they wanted to brake out of the enemy fort. If we in this siutation had a guild running defenses and ppl folowed their lead the outcome of this battle would been totaly different.
I see i made wall of text now, and as I know myself I sure spelling is horrible from time to time. Sorry for this. In short what we need to get is
- Guilds organicing attacks / defenses so ppl can folow.
- Stop fight endless battles who not give any score
– start have a few more roaming 5-7 man teams hitting camps etc, not to hold but to make a mess and get soem extra score
