Get rid of it please. All WvWers have to do to experience is go to the relevant area and do it there.
Nerf the champ trains and add better rewards to orr to make it actually more appealing.
I bought 5 BL keys a few days ago thinking that each chest gives one scrap. After opening them, I just got 2.
I definitely don’t think the chests are worth buying. Specially now, with the Gem price soaring through the roof
I bought 25 keys and got 3 scraps..
Would be nice too go to the home instance for something other than gathering nodes. Don’t see why we don’t have crafting/BLtrader etc as i would rather be there than Lions Arch.
For the love of Dwayna.. YES!!
I’m looking at you Mr buy order of thick leather sections at 1c.
I did the math. From memory, Celestial armor gives 130-145% more stat points than other armors.
Celestial trinkets give 108-110% more.
There is no comparison.
If only i knew that back then. Arrggh!
In my opinion EVERY Black Lion Chest should contain 1 Scrap. That way after opening 10 you would get 1 full ticket. It would cost 1125 gems so I think it’s a fair price for a weapon skin? Considering that for some skins you need more tickets. So every chest=1 scrap with a chance for a full ticket. What do you guys think? I think that more people would be tempted to buy keys this way.
Yeah i agree.
I’ve been stuck on 9/10 for the past few days at least and there is still another tier to go..
I play female characters because girls rule and boys drool! But seriously. In my opinion the female form is superior to the male.
^This. I think females get the best armor visuals plus i like playing the mini game Dress Wars 2. Haha.
I originally posted this in a separate thread, but have since realized it goes here if I’m hoping for Dev consideration
.
On the concept of making people branch out in their Elementalist builds, with less absolute reliance on Arcane, I have a counter proposal for the Devs~
General: It would be nice to see more synergy between the elemental trait lines. Give me obvious, tangible reasons to build 30 Fire & 30 Earth or 30 Air and 30 Earth. Make elemental “pairing” sing. There’s only 6 possible pairs among the 4 elements, go through and deliberately make sure each pair offers something (probably by way of their 25 point minor trait) that has specific utility and application if you have 25+ points in another of the 4 elements. Give us an incentive to break away from the tyranny of Arcane rather than increasing the opportunity cost of Arcane in the hopes that we’ll maybe give up on the cornerstone choices in that line.
Specific: Dump all-aspect recharge% from Arcane entirely. Rather than neutering it down from 60% to 30% for a whole line’s worth of investment, keep the current recharge times and ADD “+50% recharge% for that element only” to each of the 15 point minor traits for each elemental line in addition to their current effects. Do you want fast recharge for Fire attunement? THEN SPEND POINTS INTO FIRE! Splashing 10 is not a commitment. Splashing 15? Cool, you get fast recharge for that Attunement. 15 points is also a low enough number that you could see a “fast-swapping master” built on 15/15/15/15/0 with 10 points left over to mix it up.
But what to replace the class specific boost of arcane with? Make it a stat buff that varies with your attunement! Make it “double down” on the attributes already associated with that element as seen in their trait lines. A fully fire-traited elementalist in Fire Attunement with 30 points in Arcane should get a huge bump to Power and Condition Duration (the Fire line bonus). When he shifts attunement to Earth, that Power and Condition Duration bonus morphs into a Toughness and Condition Damage bonus (The Earth trait-line attributes). Make points into Arcane something that reinforces the flavor and playstyle of your other choices, rather than diluting them.
Less “I want to be a hydromancer, and arcane lets me get away with occasionally swapping through other attunements…”
More “I want to by a hydromancer and arcane lets me stack even more vitality and healing power while in water Attunment, making me a BETTER hydromancer!” With it built-in that being a 15+ point hydromancer means you can get back to that attunement quickly after rotating out to answer some specific need.
+1 for you. Hopefully T will see this.
i already kick some based on achievement points, inspect would be more accurate to measure preparedness
This illustrates why I think the original post is a bad idea.
^This.
Thumbs up from me! Would love to gear them up too and assign them weapon/slot skills/traits etc
First I was happy, then I saw this:
Arcane V – Elemental Attunement. Moved to Master tier.
Arcane VI – Renewing Stamina. Moved to Master tier. Why is it that when changing something in the Elementalist you always accompany it with huge nerfs to avoid “power creep” and when buffing other classes it’s just a flat out buff with no strings attached?
Serves me right for getting excited, never noticed that…
I’m liking the some of the Elementalist traits.. FINALLY!
Fire II – Burning Fire – This trait has a new effect. Use Cleansing Fire automatically when you have a number of conditions on you. 3 conditions. 40 second cooldown. Moved to Master tier. (like)
Fire III – Ember’s Might. The effect of this trait has been changed to Burns you apply last longer. 25%.(meh)
Burning Rage 25 – Increased damage dealt to burning foes from 5% to 10%.(meh)
Air V – Soothing Winds. Increased conversion from 5% to 7%.(like)
Air XI – Tempest Defense. Decreased the cooldown from 60s to 25s. (nice cd but still meh)
Earth 5 – Stone Flesh – Increased toughness while attuned to Earth Magic to 1.5/level (120 at level 80). (like)
Earth VII – Strength of Stone. This trait is now Gain condition damage based on your Toughness. 10%. (like)
Earth XI – Diamond Skin. This trait has been redesigned. Conditions cannot be applied to you when your health is above the threshold. 90%. (like)
Really interested into actually putting points into earth now. Nice work so far.

I saw a champ mob so i said in chat "champ at <waypoint> and got a map reply “**** you trying to ruin our train” Ermm.. All i did was annouce that a champ was up for them to come. So i soloed it instead and then they finally came and oohhh how the verbal came at me lol *got, *ole.
I just bought 25 keys and got 2 scraps.. Never buying keys again
Short version – Yes!
If you don’t like the wings, don’t use them. It’s simple as that.
^This. Some of you act as if you are forced to get skins.
I really hope not.
I wouldn’t mind if the acheivement panel at least tell you which areas we HAVE gotten. Like Caledon Forest 1/2
Same. I wish they would at least put the location in the achievements (even if it is vague). Really cannot be bothered to jump the those krait towers for the 3rd time..
I wouldn’t mind a journal or something in the home instance that tells you about the lore. Important key words could be highlighted and clickable for further reading.
GW with GW2 graphics and action style combat.
If only haha
Broken since beta.
^Unfortunately this.
Dungeons are already unplayable/restricted as it is thanks to the rampant elitism that goes on (just look at the descriptions that people use for groups in the LFG tool). Why give these elitist clowns another tool to further fuel their egos?
^Pretty much sums it up. Hah!
Wondered why it was taking longer than usual.
i say warrior is the best profession by far go for it
So Arena Net please fix your 1 year bug with this trait!
Woah! Hold on there! That’s asking for way too much.
Free stuff = good patch
fail
xD
Pretty underwhelming compared to the buffs from other classes.
Regardless of how boring they may or may not be, I think the main issue with Ele traits is how horribly balanced they are. >50% of them are total rubbish.
There’s also still the issue of requiring 20+ arcane and 15+ water in every (WVW) spec worth a kitten .
^This.
Skill previews, condi damage floaters, and ground targeting have great quailty of life improvements.
Eles got:
Earth shield changed as previous, still useless
Staff Water 3 now has a larger radius
Staff earth 4 acts like a very short line of warding (3s) on a 30s CD
Staff fire 1 now increases radius with blasting staff
Trait “One with air” now gives 2s of “superspeed” (100% run speed) on swap to air, yourself onlyMoral: Play another class for another 6 months.
Well that’s extremely underwhelming.
Definitely worth a bump, will Anet listen? Extremely unlikely though.
Because they are the best professions.
If people would stop responding the conversation would have died ages ago. lol
Translation: I have to have the last word.
It’s Vayne, what you expect? Lol.
A new race won’t save this game, they should concentrate on the broken kitten first.
Anyways, staff is going to have better support, conjures are going to be stronger, warrior’s pve damage trait is going to be moved a tier up, and assassin’s s/d boon stealing is going to be toned by half. All goods news to elementalists in pve and in pvp.
except that:
- 20+ arcane still required for the class to be tolerable
- 15+ water still required for any non-joke PVE build
- around a third of traits are total garbage
- signet build still kitten weak
- glyph build still kitten weak
- conjures still kitten clunky
- focus lol
…and that conjure buffs won’t help because…
Conjures don’t get used cause they are badly designed: they feel really clunky to activate & use, the skills are generally underwhelming, the limited charges are annoying, conjure traits are terrible, and last but not least – they consume a precious utility slot.
The whole design of conjures has no redeeming feature that make them worthwhile- why give up 20 skills to gain 5? they should replace only the skills of their respective element, so you’re free to switch elements as you please. You know, the core class-defining mechanic…
same problems as day #1 of release.
^This guy gets it, shame that the devs think the class is still bizarrely overpowered.
never hits anyway, so your wall of text is invalid
^This. Lol.
Anet hates GW1 players because they expect GW1 quality updates
they would be happy if all the GW1 players quit forever and stopped complaining
^This xD
Seeing as no elementalists were harmed in the making of the last competitive tournament in GW2…I think devs are going to rethink the class.
This is just my opinion, but that was probably the boldest statement the class could make. Not that there was just one…there was just none.
/rhyme
Yes at 15th october conjures are getting buffed everyone will be using them
and the healing spell geyser get incr radius and we get some kind of line of warding like guardian has
i mean they fixed ele this was our problem the whole time
More radius of geyser and line of warding and conjures bom we are fixed
lol +1
^this! xD
The class is a “jack of all trade” so its not supposed to be a class that you look on the battlefield and thing oh my gawd its an ELEMENTSLIST!"
Elewhaaaaa?! Either way Ele will be at the bottom regardless…
I’d rather they turn the conjures into equip-able items but they would be too overpowered if that happened since they are they are the “jack of all trades”
I can only say mesmer, after logging enough hours in both to get them to 80 I can only say I hate the current state of the elementalist. The problem is to much glass for the amount of cannon you get. In gw 1 the ele was much better. Problem is that now Anet tried to balance it to be able to run solo in pve so its gotten a few more heals etc but a major nerf in damage. its sad that I can spec a warrior, theif… or really just about anything to get the same result for not nearly so much effort.
I have 2000 hours into my ele and I agree with this.
Lowest base toughness and 2nd lowest base vitality means ele is the class easiest to burst down. This would be okay if the class was given either high damage or made highly mobile. Unfortunately thanks to nerfs to maximum targets and rtl/flash, the ele no longer has either of these.
As an ele these days you’re just a glorified buff bot. Stacking might, swiftness, and throwing out the occasional cleanse. If you’re okay with playing a role that makes your already more powerful allies stronger while you continue to be tissue paper, give it a shot.
^This!
In this video about pve builds for elementalist, Isaiah answers some questions from the ele forum(WHAT? So they know we exist??). At around 28:12, he brings up the fact that eles are forced into arcana and water traitlines. He says that the balancing team are wanting eles to move away from those traitlines, and mentions fresh air as an example.
This means they are actually paying attention to us, right? There is still hope for us elementalists?
PS: Oh and another thing. In the very end he says that eles are supposed to be weak, but with the advantage of having all kinds of skills. Are we doomed to be forever weak? If this was up to me, eles should have alot of skills, really high skillcap, but high reward.
“eles are supposed to be weak, but with the advantage of having all kinds of skills” Well i suppose he has the first bit right.
High survivability, excellent damage, wanted in groups all the time. Really no cons
Possibly the most balanced profession to be honest. The love they receive would make a prostitute envious.
Elementalists are op in this regards.
Bloody hell my “support” deals more damage than warriors!
How is it having 14k hp and less than 2k armor?
Most eles have near-perma protection these days anyway.
And yet they hit like a regurgitated noodle.
