Frankly damage even with AA has never been a problem for my thief.
The thing preventing thieves from getting into groups is the lack of group buffs & group utility.
I don’t play a thief for group buffs. I play a thief to kill kitten. Period.
If I want group buffs I’ll play my guardian.
Add a blind when it hits. That’s all it needs.

I love(d) alacrity. It makes the class feel powerful and unique without relying on auto attacks and brain-dead gameplay. Unfortunately they are nerfing the crap out of it and a lot of people are claiming this is justified and everything will be okay.
Well I’m a filthy casual (been busy with school) and haven’t gotten to raid. So I’m wondering if someone can explain to me exactly why alacrity was so OP? Is there a video showcasing how it was “trivializing content”?
I’ve tried looking on youtube for record speed kills of all 3 raid bosses and alacrity doesn’t seem to be a huge factor. The uptime seems to be 50% or less in most cases (from the perspective of non-mesmers). And these “speed kills” often end with 1-3 minutes left on the 8 minute timer which seems perfectly acceptable to me… I mean is it supposed to be so hard that the boss can’t die until the last second like a movie cliche where they diffuse the bomb with 1 second left on the clock?
Here’s an important question: At what point do we attribute raid boss kills to OP boons rather than player skill and experience? Are we just going to play whack-a-mole nerfs every time a group of players finds a way to beat the boss?
Or am I completely off the mark? Is it being nerfed due to pvp?
no idea, but from a reddit thread, someone mentioned that Josh Davis made a comment that he was outplayed by a Mesmer recently, and then now the heavy nerf hammer dropped. It seems Anet developers (probably most dont play Mesmers, maybe just Robert Gee), have it out for Mesmers.

I think that the leadership at GW2 is deliberately trying to kick Mesmer out of the game. I further think that it is pretty cowardly to hide your answers here and not respond on your own game forums.
@Josh Davis. You complained on Twitch about being outplayed by a specific Mesmer build and that build was removed from the game in the very next patch.

Odd I’m seeing it in all game modes but only on norn and human.
I think we should get WVW XP in the PVE areas then? You know, to even it out?

My gf plays a necro with the dagger run speed trained. She was saying she had to take the dagger off and on to get it working again sometimes. I wonder if something is breaking it.
I tried unequipping and reequipping all armor and weaps, reslotting utilities, etc. Nothing works. I’m just moving slower…
With Anet would at least respond to this…It’s really annoying being so slow EVEN when I slot the 25% run speed utility…

Is this everywhere? I know they fixed the Leader of the Pact not giving swifty in cities, but that was pre today’s patch.
I’m seeing this issue in LA, maguuma, EB and EOTM. Also I noticed this starting after yesterday’s patch.
Same with my norn guardian. No difference in speed.
My Norn seems to be running slower. Humans no difference.
I see this on my humans but not asura.

Ya, it’s getting to me now. I keep trying different distances and timing it and no matter what I do, I get the same exact time with and without my 25% run speed slotted.
Something is definitely off with the last patch.
Is anyone else finding an issue with normal run speed?
I just seem to be moving slower.
Also, I slotted the 25% run speed trait and saw no real difference in run speed with it slotted or not.

This^. I used steal for swiftness. I don’t think I’ve ever accidentally pressed steal and was then kittened because it when on CD.

I’m pretty sure ALL thieves have wasted a steal CD at one point or another. Saying otherwise merely makes you a liar lol.

Every single thief has wasted their steal on the millisecond before a target goes into stealth. Denying that means you’re lying.

ETA: But on the plus side, the BL dagger is the first BL dagger skin I like.

FYI the damage increases weren’t part of a re-work of pistols or anything (something I’ve discussed in the past). We realize it still needs some work to get it to where we want, but we wanted to get it closer to being to that point with these changes. We’ll be looking at pistols more in-depth in the future.

All rewards in wvw and EOTM should be based around killing players.
Getting rewards for caps allows k-trains to form.
Even last night in EOTM, BL was opening walls for OG. It’s going too far now. Single guilds are commanding all 3 teams and avoiding each other on purpose. Looks a lot like map fixing.

This is the single worst event I’ve seen in this game. I just fell asleep in EB…nodded off and then logged off.

I make it a point to kill enemy duelers near SM every single time.
My response to hate tells: “Red = Dead. Find a better place to duel. And I’ll be back to kill again if I see a duel near SM.”
