i already used it a lot before but without improvements of sign of earth of tonight i preferred other builds (my favorite wass 30 fire, 20 earth,20 water).
Now that sign of earth gives a serious improve of toughness i think this build is very good, not yesterday .
i tried signet build. 20 in fire, 10 air, 30 earth , 10 water , ether renew and 3 signet. Signet had a great improvement and i found it very viable for pve . I use D/D but when i know i have to defend myself too much i switch to scepter focus ( for example in ac for spider queen) . Today i made already 4 dung and it seems to me a very good build

I never loved signet build but after this patch in my opinion it become much more viable.
Do you tried it ? With signet of earth now the increase of toughness is quite important so in my opinion it could become a viable build , expecially for pve. What do u think ?

the idea is to stack might and damages in fire and to change attunement when needed .
You have 20 pt in earth so u can use it and then use air/water till 15 sec of fire cd are ended. I think it for pve . I could put 10 in arcana but i don’t want to loose might and survability. Other than this the major part of skill in fire has a CD not far from 15 sec so I am sure, when fire is ready , that i have 4 skill ready … so i think Arcana in this case is not so important

In my opinion it is not a good build . If u use aura signet build u have to use written in stone trait of earth so that u can mantain passive effect of signet event when they are on CD … And I am not sure that now, after nerf of zephyr boon u can have aura on for all that time
@LordByron.8369 i agree with u. I realize now that Dagger Focus put you in meele in any case instead scepter focus, with combo field of focus permit u to stack might from distance. If u use scepter dagger instead, you have to use ring of fire and so u have to be “meele” in any case

yes infact i was thinking at pve . @TimeBomb why do u think D/F is not viable as D/D ? I have always used DD but see that there are place where i can live with D/F and i have much difficult with D/D but i never find place which i can do with D/D and not with D/F, with D/F it take me only a little more time to kill …
Yesterday i tried to play with focus (dagger and scepter) for the first time in a dungeon. I have always played with dagger/dagger or staff where dagger seemed to mee unusable but i discovered that dagger focus or scepter focus are very viable in some situation in primis in dungeon part where u have to recive damages ( I think for example to AC spiders , burrows and so on) . Has someone tried a glass cannon build with focus ? (to see if with it u can have dps and long surv) What are your opinions ?
@Blackhat.4016 If u put 30 in arcana and 25,30 pt in water u loose dps . I love some traits as evasive arcana for example, but when i play in dung and in pve I feel i miss dps … and the same i feel in PVP … ok , i last more … but the scope of the game is to destroy your opponent… not to last.. .and if i do poor dmg i think i can not help my team very much . Earth and Fire are good for that imho
in my opinion the best is trying to mix, for example fire traits and earth traits mix very well … so with something like 20 fire and 20 in earth u can create a build that give u good dps and good surv … The remaining 30 pt u can put as you feel for your play style

I suggest u to avoid 30pt in water … if u want to live long , in my opinion something like 0,0,30,10,30 is better. This is because with earth u have protection but u have conditional damage too while stay in water u have less damage
I used this build a lot (0,10,0,30,30) but since they nerfed Zephyr boon you loose much in dps. Now i usually prefer builds based on 30 fire ,30 earth and 10 water or arcana, so i have defense /toughness and much more dps . I used it at myst but not in wvw (i don’t like wvw)

the only reason to put 10 in air, if u are using signet , in my opinion is for Zephir Boon if u are using a signet aura build

I am playing with an Aura signet build for testing but i prefer 30 of fire, 30 on earth for written in stone and 10 in air for Zephyr boon. In this way i have very high crits when activate aura.
For putting 30 in water you have to renunce to written in stone and having signet without written in stone in my opinion is a big loss.
With 30 in earth u can have aura’s 20% faster and written in stone . And, in my opinion, Auras are usefull only for the 20% crits u get with zephyr boon . If it for burning damages then i will not follow an aura build

i tryed glascannon and it is very funny. I don’t know if i am able to use it in dungeon so I was thinking at somethink like 30 in fire, 25 in water (for 2% damage) and 10 in air annd 5 in arcana or earth..

I agree with u that that what i miss primary without 30 in arcana is arcana evasion. I even agree with u it is a problem of mine infact i ask what you think for having hints, not for criticize different builds . I’d try a 30,30,0,10,0 build tonight. I tried a classic 20,x,30,x,x aura signelet build but i did not like it. I opened this thread for asking. I use that build becouse i am not able to survive … i know it is a problem of mine and i asks other opinion becouse i’d like to know if there are different ways viable . Do u use that build in pve and pvp ? with which weapon set ? I am curious to learn

I began with dagger but obviously having a light armor … meele is very dungerous . Is scepter better for pvp ? I use a normal 0,10,0,30 30 spec or sometime 0,0,10,30,30 specs with cantrips .

Least armor ok, but pherhaps it could be a little stronger … (not like chain armor but a little more strong than how it is now) .
In my opinion , whith staff or S/D or S/F it is simpler in any case with 30 arcana cause of evasive arcana . It is too important for me and if I fix 30 tp on arcana … for example i can not put 20 on fire and 30 on earth and use auras with signelet (a quite common build) … only for example
In my opinion, forgive for my english, elementalist has only 3 big problems :
– too little armor
– you have to put 30 point in arcana .
– water line is good only with dagger, with staff or scepter it is much more difficult to use.
The first statement is simple … we have the worst amor of the game and it is not always simple to stay alive .
For the second i think it is much more difficult to play without 30 point in arcana cause of coldown of attunement switching.
If you use dagger dagger is quite obviouse you have to switch it quite often.
If you use staff, in my opinion, i usually begin the hit with water 4 or earth 4 to immobilize and then i switch to fire (meteor , lavafont and so on) so i switch attunement not so often as dagger but i have to cycle in any case and a simil thing is for scepter so, even with scepter or staff, attunement cd make the difference for me.
It is even difficult not to have access to evasive arcana , i’d put it in the first position of arcana traits and not on the last becouse in water for example is very useful as another heal (10 seconds cold down) and remove condition and even in earth is very usefull .
The other problem is water line (there were many threads on staff this day) : with dagger, with water 2 and 5 I can heal myself while running so it is very easy while with scepter or staff, for example with trident or with geyser i have to put down and to pass and stay inside , it is much slower and when you are attacked by many mobs it is much mor difficult to use and if u have very low health it is a big problem for me.
I use a 0,10,0,30,30 build or a 0,10,10,20,30 build based on cantrips (in pvp i have to get cleaning fire … in pve ether renew it is usually sufficient) .
I tried to play with auras build based on fire (20, 0,30,0,20) or similar but … it was too difficult for me. I admit I am not a champion and these are the problems i found .
