What, really?! I did not puppy know that! Two years on these forums and I’ve never noticed that, honest! :P

But yeah, guild run alone because they want to run as a guild. They dont want to get a zerg of pugs who wont listen to them, and are only there to leech.

In fact some guilds hate pugs who join them. Because the pugs follow but wont obey the guild leader, the pugs are the ones who usually get themselves killed first, ressing all the downed enemies they’ve just downed. So you can imagine the frustration this can cause, the guild gets wiped, noone gets loot all because the pugs want to leech from the guild run.

Guild used to, but when pugs refused to listen to them, they asked themselves what’s the point if they wont listen. So blame the pugs not the guild commanders.

When you go to the support page to submit a ticket, under the description input box you see some text saying:

I’ve heard rumours of things such as precusors.
In my two years of roaming WvW I have come upon a few who speak of such things. But I have not come face to face with one to this day.
But legendaries?! What is this nonsense you talk of?!

Anet have their own vision.

We’ve known this since alpha where people gave their suggestions and concerns, and they fell on deaf ears, and the devs continued to make the game how they wanted.

Then they created the CDIs, they were so well known that I didnt even know about them until the 3rd one started!
But if you look back at them you can see again, this is just to appease the naive and gullable WvW players, to make them think that anything they say on there will be heard and will be considered.

D.C. left the last CDI after just 3 days, assuming he had gathered all he needed to know. But again the simple fact is that they are driving the game forward the way they want, and not even heeding what the community has to say.
Just look at all their posts in the CDI, they basicall say “Great idea, we’ll think about it”.

Actually these are WvW players who are digging up year old threads where devs have stated things and changes are coming real soon; yet here we are over a year later with nothing changed in regards to that thread’s topic.

New maps first.
Fix a lot of other things what are causing problems with the game first.
Regular communication with the WvW community

Then, I might consider buying gems.

None of us are going to buy gems unless we PvE, or want the skins. Anet doesnt deserve our money, WvW hasnt received the TLC it needs, and the mods are high on power.

They have pushed us away, why should we pay them for not doing their job?!

It has come to the point that as WvW has not received real updates since launch that we ourselves would not mind doing the testing.

I can appreciate that many people don’t like EotM, but don’t conflate a lack of updates that you personally like with a lack of updates. WvW has added a great deal of content and rewards over just the last calendar year.

Hopefully you will find more you like in future updates and we’ll continue to add to the game.

Absolutely disgraceful!

This totally goes against the games Rules of Conduct; but will we ever see anything done about it? Will any dev or mod ever read this post?! We all know the answer.

And what about the loot drops in WvW for support builds?
I play a water ele, I spend most of my time giving water field and spamming skill #1 which has a chance to heal, as well as water sigil.

Whilst hearing everyone else say “OMG look at all my loot”, I barely have any loot at all!
So there I am keeping people alive for longer to get more loot for themselves, whilst I’ve spent all that effort to keep them alive for scraps, if I’m lucky! Seems rather unfair.

Hmm I was thinking about submitting a “support ticket” to ask for someone to forward a message to someone to reply to the WvW forums.

Past history of dev attitude towards WvW tells us it’s not being worked on.

I don’t think you understand how game development works pal.

When it’s a current game which is losing player due to poor communication and lack of updates, you want to communicate and inform them of any updates which may be coming soon.

You dont just stay silent and close threads and then hope if you ever do release a major update that those players who have left will come flooding back.
Half of those who have left, wont come back as they have moved on, of the half who do come back, half of those wont like the updates and go back to other games; so that means the game loses up to 75% of those players.

As said, anet should have listen to us and kept us updated, and themselves updated with our replies. They havent and the game has gone downhill.
We players can only voice our opinion here, but if the devs refuse to check here regularly, our opinions will continue to go unheard.

Was just about to post this myself. The same goes for when people in your party have stacks running into the middle of your screen because they are running xp boosters, guild flag bonuses, etc. It kills me that you could adjust the ui in GW1 but you still can’t in GW2.

Use simple Party UI.

Yes it’s nice that they fixed it, but again this is a simple fix to the map, which could have been done within minutes, an hour tops.

It’s this lack of communication which is making people hostile towards them.

Not only that Allie has left Anet so wont be checking on this.

Not only that, they fixed the lag for a while when she was here, but then a PvE patch was released and the lag fix was undone, again.

We’ve been giving constructive ideas since beta.
We’ve given our views and ideas in the previous 3 WvW CDIs

What we havent done is seen any constructive replies, all we get is “That’s a good idea” if we’re lucky; but most of the time it’s “We’ve read your posts and will consider then”.

All we’ve seen are a few map glitches fixed and a few Quality of Life improvements such as account bound WXP.

This is not how any developer should be treating any part of their gaming community.

All the attention is going to PvE, regular, content-filled updates; regular, active,
respectful replies in the forums from not only Devs, but also Content Designers, Liaisons, Technical Support, Communist Special Operations, Competitive Events Managers, Game Support Leads, Narrative Designers, Technical Designers, Lead Writers….

The list goes on, but that’s who’s replied to posts in the last week in other forums; whilst you have to go to page 4 in the WvW discussions forum to get to the first red post, and it’s from Allie who’s left!

It’s just a very sad state.

As it has been since beta, the ball is still in the dev’s court.

Just before the start of the next season is my guess, which will be around sometime in autumn.

thing is is that it is an easy fix.

First is what everyone said when the game was launched, dont separate out players based on which continent they are on. If WvW is supposed to be 24/7, why create servers which will attract players from specific timezones.

As we are already in this mess what anet need to do is monitor activity levels on all servers. From this they can easily find out that server X is inactive at 1am, but server Y has long queues. Therefore allow limited free transfers from Y to X.

This will allow all WvW server to be active 24/7 as it was supposed to be, with WvW populations more accurately balanced; it still wont be perfect, but should be better the the current setup.

Of course all of this greatly relies on one major thing: that the devs put some work into WvW development.

A lot of server help some guilds move by helping with transfer costs, so I dont see a problem with it, especially if you are in a low WvW pop server.

But what about bandwagon pride, I mean server pride? (says someone who’s moved server 3 times :P )

Check how many red posts there are in the Living Story Section just this week. Now compare to how many red posts we’ve had here in the last 6 months!

I only play WvW and GW2 because of my guild,
no guild = no WvW = no playing.
We used to have over 40 people in TS for a raid, now we are lucky to get 20 max.
This is what is happening all over, people want to play with their friends, and if their friends leave, they leave. If their friends have gone to another game, they get that game and join them.

Many WvW players tried to warn Anet that people would move to other games if they didnt do anything; and that is exactly what has happened, and will continue to happen until WvW becomes an AP farm at the beginning of each season for the PvE players.

You do know that Allie has left Anet, and that no dev will now look at this thread and do anything to fix it….

And you aint gonna get it done in a day, it may take you weeks!

Welcome to WvW, where you put in 1000 times more effort and get 1/1000th the reward, when compared to PvE.

They do. Alt + F4 during a fight counts as a death and you get credit for it.

You used to, but guess what, the PvE team released another LS which some how, yet again, reset things for WvW!

Players have been able to Alt-kittenain without consequence again.

It’s been like this for months, surprised you didnt realise.
If they ever fix this, and the lag again, just keep a look out, when the following LS patch is released, things like this are undone!

What is even more concerning is that they are not infracting posts any more.

Is it because so many people are now complaining that the mods cannot keep up so have given up?
Or are they just waiting for all of us to post enough so that when they come to a mass infractioning we all get enough points added to our accounts to “warrant” a perma-ban?

Wow, 1.5g a week you say. Some PvE players make that yawning in a dungeon for 5 minutes!

Multiply that by 100 and then we’d get somewhere closer to the amount of effort some of us put into WvW.

The thing is current e-sports is all about 2 small 5-man teams fighting each other.

Anet could have changed this with 3 teams of 100 all fighting each other in a huge map!
A spectator mode for WvW would be fun to see.

And didnt a small WvW/GvG team beat the puppies out of a “well-known” spvp team a while back?

1) Moving to a tier one server is not clever.
2) Moving to a tier one server does not guarantee better WvW
3) Tier one servers are not guaranteed to be “good in WvW”

If you want a sense of false achievement and bandwagoning, like being a Man U fan, then yes a T1 server is just for you!

Basically, no guild = no play game

If you want small groups, then I doubt any silver league server is for you. Bronze would be better.

Piken runs mainly as a zerg, as you can see their current rank is 14th, but they are currently on top against the 10th and 11th ranked servers by 20k points!

It gonn abe hard to tell, as players and guild are probably transferring around again right now, or going back to their real home server now that they have received their “well deserved” rewards from bandwagoning on gold tier servers.

We’d get zergs hunting eachother. That would be fun.

We do this already, we’ve had a enemy zerg of 80+ run and cower behind a tower filled with ACs from a zerg of probably 50, max.

But today this is a daily occurrence, why die when you can run away and attack an undefended tower from the other enemy or another map.

This is why the entire mechanics behind WvW must change if they want to save it.

Indeed they could do this.

One thing they could do is make walls higher so that a zerg worth’s of aoe cannot take you down whilst using the cannons/oil/mortar/AC.

Make it so that the enemy have to build ACs to take down your siege. This would mean better defense of all towers, a zerg would have to put in more effort to take a keep, use more supply.

But again, the community have given the dev all these and more suggestions, it is now up to the dev to do something about it.

And I’ve also been asking this for ages! It gives you another objective where you have to fight your way up to get it! Or as stated above players using the fly hack.

The ruins is just a run down PvP area now, I sometimes go there when I am bored and it’s empty most of the time, you might see one or two people use it as a throughfare every now and again.

Basically it’s as many of us have been saying, after 2 years of the same old thing, we need someone new, even if that something new is an old feature they removed because they could not fix the hacks.

The hackers arent going away so why remove features? If that is how anet wish to deal with it, then golems should be removed from the game!
