As a WvW player I spend all my time in the WvW forums, so I would not have found out about this raffle if I wasnt gonna complain!

Yes. Why? Because you are not level 80, you are so much more easier to kill by enemies.
If you are easier to kill, it means any downed enemies will be rallied faster, measning more work for the rest of the group who have to kill them again.

And if you think it’s bad now, with this weeks patch Anet, with all their “great wisdom” will be adding Point Per Kill; so now if you are killed, you give points to the enemy.

All uplevels will get more abuse when this comes in!

Close, it offers ABSOLUTELY NO rewards at all!

No reward = why bother.

It’s ok for t1 servers, they have enough people who can rotate with another player every 15 mins or so.
But for bronze server, it is never going to happen!

Why hang around doing nothing for hours getting no reward when you can be with your group killing, having fun, capping towers, getting xp, getting karma, getting rewards!

Sorry Anet but you designed WvW this way, removing white swords without compensation isnt gonna fix it!

It’s easy, if they remove white swords then they have to award players who scout and defend; oh wait……

Um lol… Isn’t that the case with every MMO – people making the game fun? TBH I wouldn’t want to play any MMORPG alone.

Players add to the fun, and yes they do add the majority of the enjoyment.
But the game must also add it’s own weight in enjoyment, this game doesnt do that properly, in PvE, PvP or WvW.

John listened and watched and picked up on some things that werent even complained about to him (like his siege trolls post).

I think this sums things up, we complained about siege trolled way back when at launch, and continued to do so.
We did get a reply from a mod: They cannot controls a player’s play-style.
We then gave up on complaining about this.

But for John to not even know about this annoyance shows there isnt much communication going on between the WvW devs and the WvW players’ concerns. (Not counting infractions and bans of course).

Sorry but as the saying goes, I’ll believe it when I see it.
And “We cant talk about it” is not seeing, it’s just blowing smoke.

And dont forget the FCT made posts here asking people for their opinions, a few people gave their honest opinions and got infracted for it! Those threads are almost like entrapment :P

The simplest solution is if your guild had more buffs available than the claimed guild, then you can claim it from them without them claiming something else.

Claiming from no buffs isnt a good idea, what if the claimed guild doesnt have the buff you are looking for, or has less buff than you? You dont want to be waiting hours for all their buff to run out.

My assumptions are based on the actions of mods for the last 18 months, as well as interviews which you can view on youtube.

Based on past performance I conclude the following:

1) Anything they do decide to change, they wont/cant talk about
2) Anything they want to change, they wont change any time in the near future.

Which places us exactly where we were before! Noone knowing about the future of WvW, devs not talking, and players getting fed up and leaving as WvW still doesnt get any real content updates in the next 6 months!

The commander the dev on my server talked to wasnt the commander of the guild they were in. Yes after I hear this other people said they also talked to the dev a little themselves.
But how did they know when they could talk to them? I didnt, I didnt even see the dev or hear from them in the entire 4 weeks! Unless the dev was running with the EB K-Train most of the time.
Yes not all EB commanders are K-Train commanders, but this one mostly is.

So from my current pov it seems yet again the devs will be getting info from the wrong WvW players, mainly the ones who like to zerg in the karma trains. Just like how most of the players who tested EOTM were sPvP players.

And what has happened to the Forum Communications Team?! A couple of them came on here last week, asked a few questions, got bombarded with pleas to fix and update WvW, and we’ve not heard from them since, again!

Not all servers do. There is no incentive, no reward for scouting or defending.
And one of the problems with WvW, or rather THE main problem with WvW, is that the devs have absolutely NO PLANS at all to do anything for WvW, at all! This is straight from Devon’s mouth from those interviews he did a month or so ago.

You are not going to get the information you need to improve WvW if that is all you are going to talk to!
Just look what happened when you made EOTM, you got players who dont even play WvW to test that and it became nothing more than a K-Tain map and leveling alt area!
You are just making the same old mistakes if you do this!

You need to talk to the smaller guilds and players who run smaller groups, the ones who actually use their skills and tactics and builds to defeat larger groups.

And did any dev actually go to Bronze league?

It seems that perhaps you have wasted an opportunity to get some real insight into how the non-zergers play WvW, how WvW should be; not how you want WvW to be i.e. full of zergs.

Now yes we have seen a slight increase of red posts.

As far as I know, from previous CDIs, all we got were coloured tags, when we wanted that and more for commanders!
And it took over a year just to get coloured tags!

Macros are NOT allowed!

As “defined” by several mods, a macro can only do ONE thing! i.e be a key bind.
These macros are doing several things with the single press of a button!

If these macros are allowed then so should skills macros in PvP and WvW!!!!!!

To me it was another 4 weeks where the devs had an excuse to not release updates for WvW.

These tournaments are nothing more than dangling carrots, the devs hoping players jump for the carrots and forget about everything else.

The fact is that people are still trying to get onto the bandwagon servers even though they are all full.

What does that show?
Players want easy rewards for little effort?
Players want to play dumb zerg instead of small team tactics and skill?
Players want GvG?
Players want more loot from larger zergs?

WvW is not longer enjoyable due to this and no updates since launch!

We hear excuses about balance, no new maps because it takes time to balance, no skills or siege or new events in WvW because again they need to be balanced.
What is the point of all this irrelevant balance when the current maps are not balanced, and thanks to the way anet have made WvW, not even the servers themselves are balanced!!!!

WvW is not enjoyable, and will not be enjoyable until WvW as a whole is completely revamped, fixed, updated and balanced!

Someone just posted that Tier 1 is for GvG.

So there’s one issue. Actually add a GvG mode!
Adding a small arena in OS and telling people to go there isnt GvG. Guild still need to be on that matchup to play against each other!

These GvGers are taking up player spots in WvW ruining the game and making queues longer than they should be!

Well we WvW players are second-class gamers in the eyes of the mods, devs and anet.

Yeah well, noones gonna buy any more toys if they are WvW exclusive players, cos we cant bloody use them!

The problem is that Anet has neglected WvW for too long!
The only way to fix it is the almost start from scratch again! This is take too long.

You have already lost way too many players due to the neglect and disrespect you have shown the WvW players, infraction and bans, ignoring issues, punishing us for reporting exploits and hacks whilst the hackers are out there STILL doing their stuff.

IMO first thing to do is to make a new borderlands map asap!
Why? Because everyone knows the current maps, we’ve had them for 2 years and they have grow old and stale.
New maps will allow players to come us with new strategies and tactics (what little there is as the game promotes zerging which requires the opposite!).
It may also bring back some of the players who have left already, they will come to see what’s new and try out the new maps.

Any map will do so long as it’s new.
As for the “balance” issue. There isnt any balance in these maps, and there isnt any balance between the servers, so that excuse is mute.

So short-term fix: Make a new map for us to play on.
Long-term fix: Knock is all down and start again.

Both of these however, require time, effort and resources; but until your management realise that WvW needs regular updates and maintenance, I dont see either happening any time soon….

To put it simply the devs are like grocers trying to sell an apple that has been left in the corner of the shelf.
They are bemused as to why it wont sell whist most other products are selling well.
They dont make any effort to sell it, or even reduce the price.
It just sits there and starts to rot. Still they wonder why they cannot sell this rotten apple.
And now they need to make space, they want to try to fix up this rotten apple and sell it to someone.
But it doesnt matter, noone is gonna buy a rotten apple, you have to start with a fresh one!

Well first of all you need to completely overhaul WvW!

Thanks to the extended free transfer at launch, lack of updates, and bad balancing and poor planning, and the sheer lack of knowing what the hell is actually going on; WvW is a complete mess!

We have complained over and over and over and over again, WvW is all about numbers and coverage.
What is the point of dominating at during the days when everything is lost during the night as the other server(s) have a night capping team.

But I dont expect much to happen from this discussion, it is after-all only a discussion, it’s not even a CDI.
If it took over a year to implement coloured tags, a complete overhaul of WvW is most likely out of the question.

So unless you monitor WvW activity 24/7 then allow controlled free transfers to servers with inactive periods for player who play in those periods, then population balance is remain as it is.

This swiss style of play has allowed some silver league servers to fight some gold league ones. And some of the silver league guilds have laughed at the gold leagues zergs as they have wiped them several times with fewer numbers.

As for points, Points = Numbers + Coverage
There is no need for any skill or tactics if you have enough numbers and coverage.
This is why I laugh whenever I hear Hugh proudly claim he is on Blackgate.

Basically WvW is a mess, unless you put in the time, effort and resources it deserves, it’s just gonna keep on dying!

It’s only the third season in 2 years and we’ve had a tonne of updates to help balance WvW.

Not only that, we’ve only just started week 3, you cant base your conclusions when the tournament isnt even over yet!

The one you are describing has been around for over a year, and been reported with links to support.
The one that allows them to appear as an unknown player is something different.

What hacks are these guys using any how?
I’ve tried to find the one which hides their names from the combat log, but all you find online are the ones from last year, teleport speed hacks.
But then even when we link the hack to anet support nothing has changed.

That will surely support me against the 80 man zergs in WvW!

Though I still prefer new maps.

I play staff ele and because I mainly stick to water atonement for the water fields, I barely get any loot, whilst the rest of the group get tonnes and tonnes of loot bags!

It’s an unfair system which has helped to create a zerg full of warriors and guardians! And this play style is ruining WvW

I am little displeased seeing as a dev is on the forums now asking peopel how they would like to see siege trolls fixed as well as server imbalances.

Surely new maps, something everyone wants in order to get away from the stale state of the current WvW, is something they really need to consider; and this suggestion allows a map to be made in relatively no time at all!

Easy

1) Monitor WvW activity on all servers at all times
2) Find out which servers have queues at given times and which have no activity
3) Allow free transfer for a set amount of players to go from and inactive server to an active server. Or from a server with long queues to a server without queues and lower activity.
4) Repeat until all server have similar activities at all times, 24 hours a day.

Of course you will have to do this regularly, and also allow guilds to reserve spots if their guild wasnt to move, dont want to split up guild like you did by introducing separate NA and EU servers now do we.

But again you should only offer these transfer to accounts which have shown to be mainly active for the time slots required by the other server, no point allowing free transfer to an account which will just increase the queues during primetime.

You can change WvW so that it isnt all about having greater numbers with better coverage and actually make it about skilled players!
