How about…Countess Anise, is the original Queen Jennah, look and personality. (Do not kill me if I say too bad nonsenses please >< ) She was kept well protected and hidden ever since she was a newborn…after all, the world was far from being safe for the young heir of the King, with Charr and White Mantle and all of the haters who might have wanted to get rid of her…so by the will of the King, maybe even some advisor, it was decided to keep the identity of the real Jennah secret to everyone but some very close people, family, few servants and Shining Blades…and to make it even safer, maybe the King or the ex head of Shining Blades could have created the illusion of a totally different looking little girl, that would be used anytime her precence would be needed for some public ceremony or situation…
As the young Jennah grew up, she was taught how to create and control the illusion on her own and that’s about it.. ><

1 Reworked characters customization to give players more option and chances to play with fairly unique characters.
2 Unique hairstyles added to hairstyle and total makeover kits, including 2 long hair models for male characters.
3 Only one Borderland map is now required to be maxed for map completion. (After over 4 weeks of wait for my server to get the green Borderland and still waiting, I can always dream x) )
4 Cinematics are now unskippable the first time they are triggered. Skipping option will be available for everyone who have watched said cinematic the first time. (After running each path of each dungeon of this game hundreds of times and always been denied to watch cinematics which I was curious to watch, I think this could be a nice add :P)
5 New items added to the Gem Store, including dyable cloak backpacks, town clothing and entertainment items.
6 Changed mechanics with some dungeon bosses which now are immune to physical damage unless they are afflicted by a proper amount of conditions, to prevent the exclusion from dungeon teams of all the condition dealer professions in this game and prevent Warrior to be the only versatile and desired profession. (Would like my Necro to be as appreciated as my War,Guard and Mes )
7 Achievement points are now visible only by the player and in Leaderboards. Neither party members or guild members are shown of this information, to prevent ridiculous unnecessary elitism.
Thousands of dailies, monthlies done, salvaging, weapons “mastery”, eating, drinking, owning cultural armors etc…do NOT make good players.
8 All of the “soulbound on aquire” items are now accountbound on aquire, soulbound on use, to make it more comfortable to players to get items for the different characters and to lessen the risk of mistakes.
9 Polymock Arena implemented to game as well as a few more challenges.
10 Reworked some armors and whole culturals to give female Asura and Charr more feminine options and a different style from male versions. (Again, we can dream! )

Guildwars NEEDS SOME GUILD WARS

You know what would be cool is if they designed GvG to be similar to WvW, but take place in PvE zones. What I mean is a guild can start a GvG match-up the same way they start a mission. To start the GvG, the leader selects a map and everyone in the guild clicks on a thingy in that map (lets say Metrica Province for example) and they are teleported to an instanced version of Metrica Province where the buildings are set up as objectives just like towers and keeps in WvW. Guilds can then battle it out for control of Metrica Province.

They had a special finale event in the beta that took people to a pvp instance of Metrica Province, so I see no reason they couldn’t design it this way. Imagine fighting in a pvp instance of Divinity’s Reach. Maybe more than two guilds at a time can fight in order to make filling up the map easier. Let’s say 3 guilds get matched against each other at a time and each guild can bring a max of 15-20 people? Heck, they could even design a smaller version for smaller guild fights by designing it more like DOTA with a lot of NPCs moving around fighting.

Hell yeah, small GvG could be like the DOTA-esque pvp game they had on Halloween, only designed for 10 vs 10 and taking place in a smaller section of an instanced PvE zone.

And the guild that wins the battle in that zone would win “ownership” of some related PvE area in that zone, which would unlock some kind of unique benefit for that guild as long as they hold it. Maybe it can be access to a karma vendor selling unique armor/weapon skins. Or maybe access to a special jumping puzzle. Or it could be for a buff to all build member’s magic find, exp, gold find, PvE health/damage, etc. Battles for a particular objective can be held every few hours so that guilds either have to continue to fight for ownership, or give it up to the next guild. We could put a 1 objective per guild limit and keep the benefits cosmetic/optional so that we aren’t excluding people from required content.

This actually sounds pretty cool! o.o Hope something like this will be added!

1 They are failing in satisfying both casual and pro/hardcore players in the attempt to satisfy one of the parts.
There is the need of hard mode for dungeons, to please hardcore players. If they keep doing the same as they did to AC they will just lose both kinds of players. Casual players do not run AC anymore because too hard/annoying, no longer a pleasant experience. Hardcore players lost already interest for it, being still too easy for them. Result, AC is ran almost only by those who need tokens, making the dungeon itself rather dead.
Saying dungeons have to be challenging is absolutely true, but when they are almost the only end game content offered, they have to be doable by everyone. This is why a hard mode is needed.

2 We all realize they need to be supported through gem store. The problem is: if they do not add more of the items that most of the players ask for, if they keep adding only these cutesy backpacks for example, despite too many people ask for serious stuff, they absolutely do not encourage all players to give their support. Only half of it. I believe they should take a bit more into account what are players’ desires, add very wanted items. Some ask for things that can not be made or that are too meaningless, others ask for very possible and meaningful items.
I am not a marketing expert or something, but if hundreds of people basically told me that they would pay good money to buy capes, style kits if more features are added, proper town clothing and so on and on, I would make sure these are implemented sooner than a new plushie backpack, that will please only the part of players who liked them and that is already satisfied to have bought the previous one and will likely not pay to get yet another. Only my thinking though.

3 Temporary content should be made permanent, not just dungeons but story too. No matter how they upscale players’ level to 80, few new players will pay attention to a secondary story, when their main story is not yet complete.
Besides, rather useless to raise players’ level for dungeons where only real 80s in max gear and high achievements points will be welcome in any team.

A person might need to switch character to bring in a more effective profession for a particular boss and such, not just to exploit, so you’re just making noise or speaking without think.

I totally agree with the fact smaller guilds are being kicked out of a lot of content, I am in a small guild as well, and we don’t intend to recruit anyone, anymore, since people with this “Represent guilds as if they were accessories” behaviour destroyed our old, bigger guild.
I think that to make it fair, influence needed to unlock and upgrade should be somehow “scaled” to the number of members of the guild.
I won’t ever represent another guild just for this content, I am loyal only to this guild I am in.

While I agree that it is possible to make money if you try, I also agree that we shouldn’t have to try quite so hard.

I don’t enjoy farming/grinding either, and all the posts explaining intelligent ways to get money have included farming and grinding. I simply don’t like doing those things. That isn’t fun. While I realize that I willingly choose to not do something to get the income I want, I do think there should be other methods.

Maybe if the rewards for zones scaled with level? Only slightly of course, or the incentive to just craft to 80 and farm the zones for tons of money would be too great! But zone completion is really quite a task. I think it should be worth a bit more, especially for the level 60ish zones that are still fairly challenging even at 80, yet don’t reward exotics like some zones do.

Or maybe if Diminishing returns had an inverse, so if you went to a dungeon or zone that you had never been to, or only been to long ago, your drop rates would increase for a period of time, or maybe until you got your first exotic drop.

These are just some suggestions to help more casual players (or players who simply hate grinding) get some cash.

I like your suggestions, if they added something like this it would be great!

The problem is that in this game, if you do not farm and run dungeons, your income depends a bit too much on mere luck. Some weeks ago I was levelling up my alt in Sparkly Fen, from a random mob I got one exotic ring level 62 as a drop. I sold it on LT earning 5 golds. Other days, I can only spend money due to receiving nothing but junk and blue items…they should increase a bit the amount of rare and exotic items dropping from mobs, just a bit, or even better. I would love if some daily tasks were added (Not like dailies we already have) but some true missions, hard, but extremely rewarding, a bit like ZM’s but totally reworked and made soulbound to avoid exploitation.
Besides, you can try to chase events with daily chests a bit to spare some money every day! Like Dragons and Temples in Orr. It can give you up to 1 gold x day

I am totally with you in this! I honestly do not like any of the backpacks we got, apart from flower that I put on my Sylvari and Rox’ quiver for my ranger. I crave for a cape for my main, human guardian as well , I find capes and cloaks totally perfect and fitting both with lore and my character himself.
Please ANet, please! I will never spend one cent on all these plushie backpacks, (Personal opinion, they make me feel like a kid going at kindergarten, just my view though ) you try put some epic, elegant capes and see the change I make

Given that traditional groups are optional for all other content in GW2, it doesn’t seem to fit that dungeons require a full human group. If the design goal with this game is to let people play how they want to and be relatively “solo-able,” there should at least be some option for solo players and small groups to enjoy this otherwise isolated content. Adding “henchmen” seemed like the most logical choice since the AI (however imperfect) is technically in place already, the characters already exist, and the mechanics of an NPC party is already known in the Guild Wars universe. I don’t think this will deter people from playing in groups (especially if the reward percentages are scaled down with party size), but will instead make people more comfortable joining random PUGs once they’ve gotten their exploration and cutscene fixes out of the way and feel confident in their ability to run that dungeon effectively.

The closest in-game analogy outside of dungeons is personal story missions where you’re already escorting one or several NPCs. It really isn’t that far of a stretch to imagine these types of AI-controlled allies being available in dungeons as well, fighting alongside you like a normal party. In fact, the NPC friends you make along the way in your personal story (eg. Demmi Beetlestone, Almorra Soulkeeper, etc.) could even be the henchmen, further integrating dungeon play with your personal story. Completing certain story events could even effectively “unlock” these types of additional allies for dungeon use. Lots of potential!

I think you are totally right, and I love what you said about joining Pugs. Getting some experience with dungeons on your own, failing a few times, doing it slowly, at your pace, learning how to face such challenges in the proper way, without a bunch of people raging and screaming at you at the very first false step, would definitely help people to be more confident and to join team of unknown people! Also, would reduce the problem of more experienced players to have phobia of pugging, always fearing they might be unexperienced players that won’t say that, for fear to be kicked…

I think that it would at LEAST be helpful if Arenanet implemented henchmen in dungeon storymode. As more and more players complete storymode it becomes harder for new players or more experienced players who haven’t done many dungeons before to find groups. The rewards for storymode aren’t worth the time for more experienced players, so unless you have a larger guild or group of friends it can be difficult to find enough people to do storymodes with you. Having this prerequisite creates a divide among players that goes against Arenanet’s efforts to make this a cooperative game.

I would really like a henchmen system for the dungeons in their entirety, as I enjoyed being able to do dungeons by myself in GW1. I really don’t think it would kill the cooperative nature of the game as long as it was also easy for players to find other player groups- so they should definitely implement the LFG finder first. If players right now are willing to do extra work to find groups without a LFG system I think that shows that there is a large playerbase that would still be playing in groups if henchmen/heroes were implemented. And since you would not be able to take these heroes/henchmen into the larger game world, people playing with henchmen in dungeons would still be meeting new players and forming parties with other people outside of dungeons. It wouldn’t be like GW1 where everyone is in their own instanced area with their hero/hench party 90% of the time. There is MUCH more player interaction in GW2 than GW1 so I don’t really think we can use GW1 as a prediction as to what will happen to GW2 if henchmen are added.

Besides, even there most of the time my very heroes were not enough for me to do some things and still now (I still play from time to time) there is plenty of people there looking for other people for ZM’s in HM and all of the dungeons, so, I doubt adding this would ruin in any way, the social side of the game.

You are not alone in thinking this way! Honestly, I find your idea awesome and I think it should absolutely be added to the game.
It would help players like us, who like to explore and enjoy every inch of the content, gahwd after months of running CoE I still did not manage to watch a cinematic! I find it horrible how you can not even be free to know what’s going on in the path you chose. Not to mentio how every team turns everything into a speed run, skipping everything and to me, make the dungeon nothing but a farm. no adventure nor fun, only business. And if they did these changes, it would also make sure it does not take hours to fill a team for certain rather dead dungeons! Lfg site whatever, in weeks I never have seen a person asking for HotW story for example, but it is only one of them. Many explorable dungeons are dead as well and sometimes filling a team is a true pain, since if you even find a couple of people they will eventually leave, losing patience for not finding the last ones to enter…
Know that you are not alone in wishing changes like these to be made to dungeons, I would personally prefer dungeon to scale on team size as you suggested…
And if farming dungeons was really a bother, CoF path 1 would have been erased from game months ago.. ._.
Though +1 and really wish they will consider this!

I absolutely agree with you, these items should be accountbound on aquire and soulbound on use.
Guess what? Months ago I bought my first AC greatsword…with my Necro! I did not even go to read that soulbound on a aquire part, since I was more than confident that since tokens are accountbound, the mechanic would be the same when aquiring the item, but of course not and I had a Greatsword salvaged and wasted that way.
Not long ago then, I bought HotW medium coat for my Charr Engi. She was high level but not 80 yet, I would never have thought I would ever delete her, but as the Engi received some changes in the time, I just could not enjoy to play her anymore so, a good exotic gear went wasted again for being soulbound without reason.
I do not blame ANet for any of these cases of course, it was my fault only for not paying enough attention and for taking a risk.
But still, I believe that just making these items accountbound on aquire would only do some good and prevent people from ending up in such /horribly/ unpleasant situations. It is not that deciding which character will use the tokens to buy the items would break the economy nor anything after all!

Legendaries were supposed to take up to one year to people to get one. Fact that instead, overfarming and exploting allowed most of people to get Legendaries like nothing certainly messed up with programms, considering the esteemed timing.
I don’t see the hurry personally. It won’t change your damage or defence in game to have one, it’s yet another COSMETIC tool, just to show off.
You can be a great player without, trust me. Besides, the fact that too many people have Legendaries as well show that it’s not impossible to get Precursors. Either you waste all your money to try with MF OR you actually save your money, farm there you have no other choice, but it’s becausr this is only a cosmetic skin again, nothing necessary, and eventually buy a Precursor.
Coming here and being like “ANet, you didn’t give me what I wanted so now I am leaving the game” is childish and won’t change a thing.
I always agreed that the way precursors are given is not the right way, I hate that it’s about luck and not skills (for now) to have the chance to make a Legendary, but again coming on forum to cry and “getting revenge” on ANet saying you leave the game is just not the way to act.

Yes, but he’s saying he’s being forced to grind, which is not true. He’s choosing to grind out of his own free will. I too would love one of these skins ya know? But I don’t go out there and grind for hours, I pick up coffers and open them. If one drops, highest joy, if not, I didn’t lose neither time, nor effort nor money of any kind.
These skins do not add any benefit outside the mere cosmetic, that can not be denied.
And, as said, they are working to change this Precursor problem and to allow everybody with good will to get one at some point.
Not to mention that this thread doesn’t seem to fit much in Suggestion forum, since it’s mainly a rant.

These are supposed to be extremely rare skins, not for everyone to get one. No one forces you to grind for them, that’s your own free choice.
You could blame this, if actually these skins were not just cosmetic stuff (Which is exactly what they are). You don’t need these skins to progress in the game, you can get yourself exotic gear and weapons with little to no effort, by even just completing areas and playing dungeons.
You have no right to cry here that you’ll leave the game because you didn’t find the super rare cosmetic skin after grinding. I’m sorry but your argument doesn’t stand.
Plus, they stated that a scavenger hunt will be added, in order to allow everyone to find a Precursor, outside the RNG modes.
