I won’t craft any gear nor finish to gear up my alts in any way until the changes are made, because I’ve no intention to waste anything, less of all, Fine transmutation stones.

Fotm offers:
1) Pathetic guaranteed rewards (I can make 5x the gold of a 49 run, Dredge included, just by running a casual AC)
2) Pathetic RNG on new reward systems (haven’t seen a single Fractal weapon since the Fractured patch. At least I got 12 Warhorns and 4 Torches before.)
3) Terrible scaling and dungeon design, biggest culprit being Dredge. Instead of fixing the actual dungeon and making it any measure of fun, they fix workarounds and extend the length even more, completely blind to the actual problems. Thanks, I’ll stick to normal dungeons. I’ll have Frostfang and Bolt by the time I get a Fractal Axe and Sword. Just for the record, I’ve been trying for either of those, every single day on 30s and 40s, FOR OVER AN ENTIRE YEAR.
^ This is just so absolutely true and right. You could not have said it better!
I won’t bother to even waste anything else to get even 1 more AR to go over level 30. Only reason I’m running FotM is for the backpacks. (Since, so far, I’ve not seen a different way to get yourself an exotic zerker backpack and no, I won’t be crafting 3 Ascended backpacks for the 3 chars I like to play in dungeons.)
O°v°O
Start to perma-ban those who grief-kick people more than 3 times. (After due investigation of course, I get to think that like 3/4 of the posts on forum are from people who were rightfully kicked for something but they’ll never admit. Not saying this is the case, just having my thoughts and wondering how come it happens so often to everyone and me, even if I join a team of 4 guildies who opened themselves the level, have never experienced it, despite I only pug. Luck for sure, at least in something!)
O°v°O
Oh boy please…set a foot in a dungeon, don’t listen to them…if there is a thing which is not hard in this game are dungeons…all you need to do is spam yourself of dps and stand on a spot…
O°v°O
Not all of the immobilize thingies are conditions. Think of what those blasted spiders do to your char in TA. No condition showed, you are immobilized, no condition removal working to free you from that.
O°v°O
It’s a matter of tastes indeed, I personally find the gloves utterly dreadful and unfitting for most of characters.
O°v°O
I didn’t even know there were giant eyes as drops. How embarrassing.
We are two….
O°v°O
What is fun is that there are like 3 more posts on this same page of dungeon forum (And who knows how many more in discussion) about increasing the number of people who can accept a kick request, thinking that 2 are way too few…
O°v°O
Nope…so far happened to me just once to get dredge (In the last couple of weeks), and always had swamp ready in every run…just rotten luck I guess :/
O°v°O
Finally someone who said it!
And just one little thing to add: in case all of you didn’t notice already, no matter how many times you will repeat, over and over that you were kicked, for whatever reason, NOTHING, IS, EVER, GOING, TO, CHANGE just live with it and outsmart those jerks by opening the instance even before making your LFG post.
O°v°O
But if the tiltes go according to how many times you run paths, it’ll not be impossible for buyers to get them as well and in a long term, make these too as common as DM…
I like the idea of more titles, but I would more likely prefer something that makes sure you achieved the title rightfully…something like “Giganticus Lupicus Slayer”, I don’t know…“Hodgins’ protector” and such…I am not too great with ideas, but you get what’s my thought..
O°v°O
Normally it takes some time for the event to start..are you sure it didn’t actually fail, causing the first events to re-start?
To know if the event is bugged you should write your server so that people from the same server can give you the answer…last time I was in PoA (A couple of days ago) It worked fine and allowed me to access the PoI…
O°v°O
Theirs, you basically become the new instance owner, even if they are already inside.
O°v°O
Our only hope (and it will probably be the same forever) is to go there up to 1 hour before the event starts, sometimes even 30 minutes earlier is too late…
O°v°O
Now..I’ve never been kicked from a team ever…and I always pug…but it’s also true I never really ran too high FotM where it appears this “being kicked at last boss so that a guildie/friend can join” happens the most, according to all the rant/posts we all can see on forum. I think the only solution would be to actually block the kick system when the team is facing the last boss, as OP stated somewhere. If the dude was obnoxious, a bad player, afker or whatever, you see that since the first boss fight, you can’t remember to kick him/her just in the end. To those teams of friends who want to sell dungeons paths: members can simply leave the party.
O°v°O
Because there isn’t any dedicated healer in this game, any kind of event where you need to protect NPCs is completely terrible.
And Anet doesn’t wish to punish players so harshly as wipe=full restart. No need for a healer, just split players into small teams and and make them face bosses with similar difficulty as Liadri.
And why not punish?
Not punish or you’ll see 10000000000000000000000000000000 billions posts on the forum with people going “QQ!!!!!!!!!! IT’S TOO HARD I CAN’T MAKE IT WTH NEED NERF OR I QUIT GAME” …sad but true…
O°v°O
Take a screenshot, print it off and send it to arena net in the mail along with a written letter asking them why they haven’t done kitten about this yet.
Maybe they hope we’ll fill our banks with these crappy rings we get and then we buy gems to get more bank slots C:

AP is achievement points. Some people believe that AP is a measure of player skill, even though you dont get much ap for doing difficult content, you get it mostly from living story and dailies.
If you see a lfg add asking for Xk AP its better to avoid it, even if you meet the requirement, those groups usually suck.
It is so true, if they are so dumb to think that AP points can measure anyone’s skill you better avoid them like pest. I’ve seen such pathetic, horrid, 10k+ap players in this game than 1ks. And this is sadly true. Also if you consider that you actually get so few AP from mere dungeon running, while the most of the AP come from mindless grinding . As an example: I was once bored to death lacking anything to do, so I decided to get those few 200 raptors kills I needed for raptor slayer. Went on my warrior, went to Metrica Province, spammed #1 gs while running around like a jerk and poof. (Just to express how dumb it is to give AP any importance, also considering how many AP you got months ago, when it was like 20 ap x daily)
O°v°O
Even if you could have a proper old look, don’t forget you would still have to go around with a young-dude voice, totally unfitting for most of faces and ages. Had to delete my Gandalf, because (further than the disappointment for the too few features to make an even slightly close-looking character) his voice whenever saying some line was simply like a punch in the eye, destroying any kind of “atmosphere” you could have in role-playing him.
First they should add the chance to choose among deeper voices and such (some other games, like DA, have this.) , then add more, different features to satisfy those who don’t want their chars to look like 40 year-old Hollywood actors.
O°v°O
Your refund will not be accepted. This I can almost guarantee. The ones that win aren’t the ones who buy first, but the ones who buy later it seems.
*The one who both buys first and later is the model-dream-player here.
O°v°O
And fine transmutation stones then? Don’t you think of poor them, all the ones that will no longer be “adopted” from the gem store? :C
O°v°O
I don’t think lowering your expectations is the right way honestly.
If someone makes a clear description of what they expect or want in their group it is my responsibility to not join that group if I don’t meet those requirements or don’t want to play that way.
Like in so many aspects of life, communication is the key. But communication works from both ends, sender and receiver. The key should be to raise awareness to what is clearly posted in a group’s description.
If you are uncomfortable with what you see, don’t join and instead promote your own group with your expectations (or lack thereof).I do recognize the problem of what actually constitutes as an adequate description of your expectations. In an environment as the LFG tool giving a long winded explanation about playstyles is not exactly viable, I agree. But usually such kinks can be worked out with a brief chat before you start the run, if you fell like there’s a need to clarify.
I’m aware that all this talking is a bit counterproductive to the entire “speed”
run thingy, but I honestly prefer an additional minute of communication opposed to 10+ minutes of frustration. On the other hand of course that means that somenoe who hast not put in any kind of specifics as to what they want in their group’s description offers a free for all. And without the effort of clearly signalling what they wish for removes a large portion of their right to complain imo. At least about certain factors.
Language barriers of course are a different matter I have to admit and I encountered a couple of problems myself in that regard.
Edit: Despite my signature I had to correct at least a few of the more horrible typos I made. Made even my eyes bleed to look at some of them.
Edit 2: Forgot a little something: If you do join a group with little or no description, then don’t expect them to do things the way you know/expect them to do it. And you may be disappointed if they don’t take well meaning advice, but remember: You joined a free for all. You did. Of your own accord.
Agree with everything you said! And about your edit #2: Went to have a relaxed TA run with a friend, allowed anyone to join, didn’t put any description but what path we were doing. A dude joins and starts to insult and speaking of noob-team. Insta-kick, since the description didn’t speak of speed-runs, all 80s, all experienced.

Thank you very much to all of you guys for your lovely advices!
I shall test all of thse to see which one suits me the best! Cheers!

You guys are making me wonder what future games would be like… all pictures, no text? Like they say, a picture paints a thousand words?
Anyway, you see, as long as dumb and rude people exist out there, I will not look for puggies on my own unless I’m forced to. All the times I’ve asked a pug warrior to slot Battle Standard for final bosses, they never ever seem to realise I’m talking to them, even if they’re the only warrior around. It would be fine if there was a properly specced LH ele, but the chance of getting one outside CoE is rather low.
This is nothing. Try to be a warrior in a team with a few more pug-warriors, tag your banner of Discipline, wait for the boss fight and see how many more green banners will be placed all happily around yours.
O°v°O
It’s easy, f they mix them, I just will not do the content. WvW/PvP sucks and I will not go near it just for something LS related.
Could not have said it better. +
O°v°O
I’m sorry, but you did nothing. Trahearne did everything. They even let him keep the Legendary Greatsword, Caladbog.
And what did you get? A measley Pact Victory Token.
This. Gotta love my own story where main hero and protagonist is always an NPC. <3
O°v°O
I vote for quitting the game if any of the two ever were implemented as playable races and lower the adviced age for the game from 12 to 3 year-old. As if plush backpacks weren’t enough.
O°v°O
I think I love you xDDDD
O°v°O
I would like it too…I find it quite hideous the way some characters move with weapons attached to their “belt”…it simply looks ugly and I don’t understand why it wasn’t make this way from the beginning honestly..
O°v°O
Maybe that one is even a little exaggerated, but I’ve been repeating for so long how this game needs a full update to its customization that I got sick.
The customization isn’t good, as long as wherever I walk, I find 200000 clones of my character and I notice that some NPCs have more unique features than my character.
O°v°O
They should allow to trade armors and weapons. By now, it won’t make anything unfair anymore. Those who crafted to 500 will have the chance to craft for earning money and recover what they spent. Those who don’t want to craft, will gladly buy for a fair amount of gold. Win-win.
O°v°O
Not even the fact that LFG doesn’t show the whole adv is the real problem, people won’t read, they just won’t! You can as well go “P1 GUARD” and an everything-but-a-guardian will always be ready to join. Just to make an example.
As far as I saw, not even “gearcheck” will work..was in a party that required full zerk with gearcheck. Only God knows how many clerics/knight/people that won’t link gear were kicked on that day. Some people would actually link zerker set that they prepared and wear ptv.
But you can see the skin on linked gear, can you not? Now unless they have 2 armour and weapon sets that are identical skin wise this shouldn’t happen. And I’ve never seen or heard of a player using 2 identical looking gear sets, so. D’x
You can never know, they become cunning as they fail to pass the gearchecks
O°v°O
I lately start to play and enjoy my Mesmer very badly, so much that I could turn it into my main…the only thing that I don’t find really too easy is to find a really great build for dungeons.
Could you guys tell me which are the traits I should have in order to make a good job in a team? I normally have a sword/focus-sword/pistol setup rarely grabbing a staff for just the last skill, to spam some boons while meleeing, like when killing Spider Queen in AC (in the stack spot, that is).
I would pretty much appreciate if you could give me also what numbers to fill too, like “IX-III-VI” since skills are pretty much easy to guess according to the situation one is to face…
So far I’ve been using a 10-30-0-30-0 build that I was suggested…using a full zerker armor and zerker weapons. Is this build actually good? I feel to deal quite a puny damage compared to what I hear from other mesmers…
Thank you in advance

But at least, they will respect the “Zerker gearcheck” part, after all, no one requires to wear that armor, just to have it and let them check :P

I am a dungeon runner and having to waste my time in something as boring as repeating Temples and the same 3 boring events over and over and over and over with ALL my characters in order to get that rubbish, that other people not interested in crafting Ascended are actually trashing from their inventories makes me more than mad.
We don’t need an item to convert bloodstone, we need to reduce the drop of it and fill the gap with dragonite ore! Make it so that from a box you get either ore or bloodstone, because this way it’s ridiculous. I have like 10000 bloodstone and in days of grinding I’ve barely gotten 1000 dragonite ore.
O°v°O
Golem Mark II, Shatterer, Claw of Jormag, Temples, Ulgoth.
Switch on next 80 character, start all over.
If there is a gap of time between these events to spawn, fill it with Fire Ele, Maw and Behe. If there is a huge gap of time and your servers’ trains include it, go for Fire Shaman as well.

To all the Wvw players that are defending the fact that PvEr need WvW maps to get map completion: you see those people who annoy you so much because they have no clue what to do, don’t take supplies, don’t follow the zerg, get to conquer totally strategically wrong areas, have no idea of good Wvw builds, and have no intention to ask and learn? There we are. We who don’t want to learn because we are there just of our own business, our own map completion. We do more damage than good, we are forced to go there in WvW and actually occupy a spot that could be taken by a person who WISHES to be there because enjoys it, that will instead be forced to stay in queue for who knows how long. Why? Because devs make such un-appealing content that the only way they have to convince people to try is to force them like this?
O°v°O
What makes common masses think they are bad, while warriors are gods, is that a MM necro or a bearbow ranger is easy to spot.
Nope. Not that they are easy to spot – they just exclude all rangers and necros. They would never see if you have a bear or a cat – once they see the ranger icon you are kicked. Even if you join as a ranger and want to relog to war, you are not given enough time to explain that.
And what makes you and the other think that the evil bow rangers, and shout heal warriors are really that bad? Theorycrafting, forum flamewars, some misguided pseudotests? What exactly makes 30/10/0/30/0 warrior worse than the other builds? Or the lb ranger? Prejudice. Somebody somewhere said these are bad.
I say we need that bloody dps parser. Then they can kick my ranger for doing low dps, but at least it will be based on some sound facts…
I didn’t say these builds are bad, but this post is about speedruns you may have failed to notice. How lower the dps of these builds are, compared to zerker?
I know that they will kick before giving the chance to even prove that you have a good build, what I clearly meant was, that due to people who run so commonly with bad builds and are so easy to spot, people get to think that every ranger must have that bad build so kick. I play a ranger, full zerker, melee only. I won’t receive a better treatment than any bearbow ranger because most of people don’t even know that ranger can be good, increase team dmg (less than warriors) and bring some good. They will just think the ranger will spam #1 autoattack from 1500 range while is endless-hp-pool bear will cause the boss to run all the way around the room instead of stacking with the rest.
O°v°O

Remove the levelling from this game and if you are a PvEr you can as well quit. -.-
O°v°O
They qualify depending on their build. What makes common masses think they are bad, while warriors are gods, is that a MM necro or a bearbow ranger is easy to spot. Unless you check gear and ask for traits, you can’t know how many cleric guardians, shout-heal warriors are out there. And I assure you, you would be shocked if you went deep into this.
Ran a CoF p1 with 2 necros and 1 ranger in team, didn’t take longer than 7 minutes. Ran a CoF p1 with 2 more thieves and 2 warriors in team, we failed last boss 3 times, being I alone, more dps than all of them together.

If you are spending money on cash shop to buy dyes or any RNG content then you either are so rich you can use your money as a toilet paper (that would actually give a better use to that money) or you are a little crazy really.
Bought only 1 dye in my life from gem store, with the gems I received for free from the achievement box, and it dropped the worst common brown dye worth 80c.
O°v°O
They never read and never will, unless you state very clearly that they are getting a KICK if they don’t respect what you ask for. But even then, you will still find people joining, then, once kicked, they will come here on forum, being all QQ “kittens heartless monsters kicked me from party without a reason in the world” . It’s the story of the world.
O°v°O
It doesn’t even take 15 minutes to get from 400 to 500..
If you have kinda 100 g to throw into T6 mats and ectos, sure it takes even less time.

It’s the course of the empire, except for games. I’ve seen it happen many times now:
First, everyone gets the game and everyone is happy for awhile.
Then, eventually the shine wears off and a lot of people leave for other things.
The more hostile players remain, usually because they are more obsessed, and they begin driving off everyone else with their nonsense.
The game doesn’t function that well anymore, because the friendlier elements are driven off, and people new to the game don’t like the hostilities, and various events and economies depend on a certain population size.
Eventually the game dies off, and the hostile players move on to the next thing to ruin.Repeat for infinity.
Wow, that’s possibly the most depressing gaming post I’ve ever read :/
The most depressing and most true…

Personal opinion: I hate WvW from the depth of my very soul, I curse it, despise it, wish it burned. Nothing against those who love it, I am glad they do and they can play it for as long and as much as they please.
The fact that it is required for map completion, angers me beyond belief. 1 Because it’s not up to me. If my server sucks in WvW there is not much I can do alone. I can’t solo a blasted fort, tower or whatever the names are, just in order to get 1 PoI and occasionally 1 vista. 2 Three maps are the very same, with like 1 skill point changing. This is horrid. 3 One must wait likely 3 weeks to finish map, because you need the colours to switch, when you are lucky, and I never am. Last time I got map completion it took me SIX weeks only for WvW borderlands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am a person who likes to complete things, I want my characters to be done with map, with story, have every story dungeon and so on. Yet I can’t, because I will never feel again like to bother with WvW maps, also considering how unrewarding it is in the end. And as the OP said, it makes me unwilling and annoyed. And I know there is lots of people feeling the same. Or should we simply do like some, buy a Commander title and lead zergs brainlessly to conquer the points we need, without any strategy nor knowledge? Looks like it.

Some people are just semi-masochistic and pug knowing full well what to expect so they can get a cool story about the latest ‘BHB’, even if they already are in a dungeon running guild.
Who doesn’t have friends and is not in a big guild (And won’t join one for many reasons) how is supposed to run dungeons? I am just curious to hear.
Then you would be a member of the other crowd that pugs out of necessity, in which case you still don’t really have much of a right to complain because it’s your decision to not be a part of a guild that has members willing to run dungeons.
In other words, I paid this game not just to be forced to go dps zerker builds on every character in order to make it well, I have not even the right to choose the guild to be in?
