So much that people rather solo dungeons using out of map cheats than join teams, what a win!
Anyhow, I would give the OP 10000 + for this thread. It’s something I’ve been asking for months and months, but I have doubts it will happen.
And those who say that running dungeons with team is some kind of social…well, I don’t think you pug often. I am lucky if I even receive a “Hi” back, when I join a team and greet them. Then it goes silence, and if you’re lucky again in the end you will see a “Ty bb”. - How social, how beautiful! -
Or maybe the real meaning of this is: bad pugs join teams so that arguments and insulting can start and actually make dungeons a lovely social expression of hate.
In my experience (Running dungeons every day, forced with pugs) It’s kinda: 6/10 teams aforementioned. “Hi” “hi” (Long pause of silence dungeon-run-wide) “Ty bb” “bb”.
3/10 some dude in menopause that will shout at anyone for anything, just to feel pro and above the others.
1/10 won’t even reply to a “hi” and leave the team without a word, sometimes even too early that they don’t get finaly reward, lol xD

The “problem” with the combat is that you are trying to be a healer or a tank.
Seriously- you are looking at how to make the trinity effective in GW2- this is not possible because the game was not designed for it.Personally I think the DPS- PvE meta we are seeing is because you are not alone in this- at least in part.

It is also at fault here because of the condition cap we all know about.Fact is there are very many kinds of builds available and they are all interesting and mostly- touch wood- viable.
Players just find it very difficult to let go of the trinity and in it’s absence they go for the avenue of least resistance- which is DPS
No way now, don’t say there are many “viable” builds that go fine here…at least not for PVE-dungeon runners. That’s a matter of highest dps, always and only. You can give 25 stacks of bleeding and poison to a boss and it’ll fight as it had no condition for how bad they impact fights. Builds exist, they are fun but they are not, in any way not even close, as good as dps.

The only thing I would say is…why if I am a dungeon runner am I forced to run after kitten ed world events with more and more characters every day in order to get enough of that blasted Dragonite Ore to craft my Ascended weapons?! Why?! Why do I have over 10000 units of kitten ed Bloodstone dust and I have to stress so much for Dragonite Ore? Why can’t it be rewarded from dungeon runs as well?! Why can’t it drop from boxes to balance the ridiculous huge amount of the other material?!
To me this shows that they quite don’t know much about how to design a good game, tbh. They only made events that were already overcrowded, more overcrowded, leaving most of dungeons and areas totally deserted.

Em from my personal experience after 502 tequatl kill pretty much evry day since he was revorked , i got only 2 tequatl hoards the first one after 72 kills the 2nd one after 489 kills xD. Still i have like 3 mil karma only from him tooooonnnss of ecto and minipets ^.Still for who is complaining tequatl takes 20 min top to orgakittene and 6-7 min to die ^^..
You forgot – an hour of waiting.
Why ? he spwns evry 2 h.01 example 17.40 the organization start’s , he spwns 18.01 , we got the serv we got the ppl GG.
P.S : As i said if u join a tequatl guild is more fun , less stress .
I’m in TTS, they assemble an hour before spawning, map gets full usually 45 mins before spawning.
TXS here we organize in 10-20 min top xD.Dunno how u guys do it but we tend to kill teq on Fast and furious mode xD. Plus we are only 3 guild , i guess is easier for us to do that ^^.
The problem is NOT that it takes one hour to organize the fight and kill, the problem is that the server gets overcrowded in the area and people who arrive later are sent to OVERFLOW servers and are unable to fight the boss , hope it’s more clear now.

The real problem with this game is not people “elitist” or whatever you want to call them. The problem is lack of more viable builds for dungeons. It’s either full dps or you will do more damage to your team than mobs. Plus, people, by now, run dungeons only to grind cash and tokens, no one is there for the “spirit of an adventure” or for a challenge. Few people on lvl 80s will run AC without stacking everywhere, the reason why lowbies are unwanted for this kind of things, is that they can’t, as effectively, play in such condition.
The only thing I blame to community is to be blind. Like those who hate rangers just because they are rangers, not realizing that NOT EVERY ranger out there is a bearbow dude spamming autoattack of longbow from Lion’s Arch to hit a boss in a dungeon.

I’d say only champs and legendary on respawns, to make it fair! But as mentioned, with no loot, absolutely no boxes from these.

Vizunah Square does it constantly, just you need to get there at least one hour before the event starts or you’ll be kicked in overflow!

I am in the same situation…the more I run dungeons with pugs the more my will to run dungeons is drained from me, and dungeons are the only, real end-game content a PvEr not farmer, can rely on. I don’t know what to do with my 80s, I just end up running around and logging out when I don’t run dungeons with them.

Nope, the skin is dark blue with green glow and black smoke animation, but I totally agree with you that it’s not worth the stress. I would have made it if craftable, but when I saw it’s only a ridiculous RNG drop from Teq I simply said “screw it then” and went on with life.

I killed Teq for the Achievements only. So far I haven’t had to endure 71 Tequatl kills and have crafted 3 Ascended weapons on my low gold income because I’m generally too lazy to farm. Seems like a better deal to me. It’d be nice to get a box drop to get my bow though because I don’t feel like lvling Huntsmen atm for 1 weapon. .-.
Yes, crafting them is the solution if you need a random Ascended weapon…but I guess the OP, like me, was actually after the special Sunless skin that can’t be crafted nor obtained elseway.

I simply gave up as soon as I saw that the skin could drop only and worst of all, from Tequatl, that is done in probably barely one-two servers in EU -.- Can’t be bothered to guest every day, waste about 2 hours (Since always must get there up to 1 hour before the event not to be kicked in overflow) then struggle to fight it, die 100000000 times and in the end go home with 3 rares from the best box and nothing better than that…

But it appears that ANet found it way more revolutionary to make dungeons for 4 zerker warriors with random guardian/mesmer to stack on a corner and overkill everything without even having the chance to see what’s going on there, just spam 1.

Crafting in GW2 is the second biggest disappointment in GW2. Uninspired, boring, predictable. It is set up so difficult, that figuring it out by yourself as a newbie, you will waste tons of ressources. But if you understand the system behind it (or just use a guide), it is the same simple scheme put over every level of every profession.
In other words, it is stupid to spend time on it, and in the end, the only level a profession is worth something is the max level, as they made ascended items account bound (seriously, crafting stuff for yourself is the goal of crafting professions?). So everyone has to level professions for themselves, or they will be left behind – awesome game design, should give a reward. That’s how crafting works in reality, all those expensive clothes are only worn by the designer themselves too after all.
The biggest disappointment though was, wait for it, ascended items.
Now the core progression of the game combines the two biggest failures of GW2. Thank god for the steam holiday sale!

Besides, to those who say Ascended stuff is finally something not for “masses” I just have one thing to say: I run dungeons, pugging, every day, I saw in the last months LESS people with exotic skins and MOST of them with: either up to THREE Legendaries or full ascended weapons. No joking, and most of these people are under the 3k Achievement points. Everyone can mindlessly grind something with a zerg, at the moment there is nothing in the game, no weapon nor item that proves that someone is more “pro” that someone else. Arah items used to be not for masses, before Arah became like a supermarket.

My only thought is that it would have been way more dignified of them not to add Ascended armor at all, mostly since it looks like just an excuse to force people to buy Transmutation stones and Gem store skins.
But that’s my opinion. Like the fact I find heavy armor for females really horrid, apart from so too little details that look pleasant.

1 New areas, real new areas not huge flops like Southsun.

No, what would be good is: To craft this “so epic item” you need 5 essences of Lupicus, dropped by ONLY killing Lupicus and only if you damaged it for at least 20% during the whole fight. THAT would make it a decent thing to work for, grind is nothing but a ridiculously boring dinamic that requires: NO brain, NO skill, nothing. Just follow a zerg and spam some autoattack here and there. -.-’

The problem is that alot of people dont tell the truth about why they got kicked. Let’s say you join a party that says berserker only\ melee’ing all bosses and you do not meet those requirements and join anyway. They have the rights to kick you out whenever they want , since you didnt read the Lfg and wasted the time of those people.
Or some people simply get kicked because they are always laying on the ground but they will never tell it on the forums. Kicking at the end with no reason deserves a bann in my opinion but if you dont meet the requirements of the lfg post or constantly dieing , I think its perfectly fine to kick you out.
To kick you out as the beginning of the dungeon. If you require zerkers you’ll ask to ping armor, if you ask for meeleing all bosses, the first mob will be enough to realize the requirements are not met.
As for the rest, the comunity is getting worse, probably because most of the people that used to play initially have left the game a while ago. A 200 people dead guild and over 20 friends show it.
Second of, true, all professions can be good, but unlike warriors and guardian that every brainless kid can handle feeling a God, the others require true skills and let’s be honest, you’ll find these skilled rangers, necros and engis way too little.
And, as long as dungeons will be a stack-on-a-corner-dps-feast and just an unchallenging grind, don’t expect many people out there to be willing to teach or to accept a wipe with a “lol”.

Ascended gear also drops, most probably by a rate which is comparable to the time and effort needed to craft it all.
If it is like Ascended weapons, I’d say comparable to 45 years to the time and effort it needs you to craft them.

Average sociality in dungeon runs: “hi” when join party, lucky if 2/5 of team replies to that even; silence for the whole run unless some mess happens and jerks start to insult; “Ty bb” leave party.

So dungeons have been broken for over a year. This is not just the fault of bad structural design, but players also taking advantage of it. Here are my suggestions to fix most all problems.
1. Do not leash mobs.
You know what’s annoying? Running past everything in Arah. You know why? Because there are some mobs with great mechanics. However, nobody, NOBODY will stop to fight trash, and I’ll address that later. Currently, you either know how to run past mobs, or you get kicked or you’re a noob for NOT AVOIDING CONTENT. Let mobs chase players through the entire dungeon. They either face them, or they die. Let content be content in dungeon settings.2. Bosses should drop LOOT
and I’m not talking about those worthless goodie bags that we just salvage through. Ascended Materials, personalized upgrades, something that makes you feel good about killing the boss. How about a gold per boss to make the attempts worth the repair bill? Make the bosses lucrative and you’ll see players engage them more.3. Dungeon Complete Daily.
Random dungeon per day, all paths, all bosses, counts towards daily. Fair?4. Make Trash Meaningful.
No more excessive trash that would make a dungeon 3 hours long. Dungeons should take 30 minutes, tops. Arah maybe 1 hour. Make them drop loot. Every single one of them. I don’t care if i have to salvage every 15 minutes if i know that everything i kill is worthwhile. Make a mass-loot function so i don’t get carpal tunnel spamming F to loot everything.5. Define the Play Area
So, you know how well AC goes? Let me tell you. Spider Queen is Glitch-fought. Troll is avoided (see #2). Kholer, when engaged, is also glitch-fought. So is Colossus, so is Howling King. Counting bosses for all paths, 8 encounters are glitched and 6 are completely avoided by option. This isn’t unique to AC. You want people to do the bosses? Lock the doors, ring of fire, invisible arena walls. DO NOT LET US OUT until the boss dies. Define the play area for bosses, and we’ll be forced to engage them, and not via glitching spider queen through a freaking pillar.6. Rampaging. Dragons.
Off topic, but how about The Shatterer trashes Lion’s Arch and won’t stop until we kill him? How about using supply to rebuild our pirate town?

Apparently that’s not good enough, for people still prefer to take risk to be kicked while switching at end boss, rather than do that.
If you ask me, since it exists for how it might be despised, and since dungeons were not made as lvl 80 content (not all of them at least) fix the downscaling, so that a lvl 80 dude in highest stats will actually be the SAME as a level 35, kitten etc, in best stats. Then, people will simply have no reason to ask for level 80s only since it would actually make no difference to have a lower level in team, and people would simply level alts by running dungeons fully, stopping this annoying end boss switching (Annoying only due to people not being smart enough to remember they can’t leave instance if they own it).
I have many alts myself and I TOTALLY understand the feeling of people in wanting to level up as fast as possible and in less boring way…because God, it’s boring to death to level up new characters, most of all if it’s your 5th+. Most of areas are dead, there is nothing new nor interesting, and rewards are simply pathetic. You don’t get the feeling you are accomplishing something but that you are wasting time, while you could simply run dungeons, have fun, get 1 gold+ x run and loads of free XP.
And this was not meant as an offence to those who switch at end boss, because I understand perfectly, this was more of a statement on how 1 The “one member instance-owner” method is horrid, since if instances ownership was party-wide these problem wouldn’t even exist; 2 How bad it is to have seriously race in order to enter a dungeon yourself, because it’s so easy that someone’s mistake will screw your time and rewards like that; 3 How it would be smarter to stop with events blocking dungeons entries. Some people /Like me/ sometimes manage to play only at late night where you will be already too lucky to fill a team, and you will have to see others simply leave it because blasted events failed everywhere and there is no one around to help to do these group events and uncontest them.

Pro tip: always be the one who starts the dungeon. You’ll never be kicked from a group again unless you’re so bad that they’re willing to start the dungeon completely over.

You can’t always start yourself. I have all the story mode done, but: 1st: often when you join a team someone is already inside, since there is a true “race” to be instance owner. 2nd: with the new LFG tool almost no one is doing events that contest dungeon entries. I can guest only twice x day and if that was done already (With none of the areas with uncontested entry) I have no other choice but pray the instance owner will have a brain. And the second one is exactly what just happened to me in CoE p3, just to say.

Wouldn’t a better solution be to have it where if the party leader leaves, a new one is automatically appointed so that the rest of the party can stay in the dungeon?
I know the frustration, it’s happened to me. Selling experience on the Gem Store would not make people very happy, though.
They have obviously no intention to fix the party leader problem, this is more than clear, i’ve seen billion posts on forum about it in over 1 year and the only responses from devs that I’ve seen shows that it’s exactly as they want it to be.
I know people won’t like it, because it’s not right, but if it’s allowed to level up by simply switching in dungeon end bosses and crafting, they can as well sell that, it’s the same really.

For as much as I am against this kind of things.
I am SICK of being kicked from dungeons at END BOSS when it’s almost dead because people (Who “smartly” own instance) have to switch in the end to gain XP on an alt.
So, simply sell that stuff on gem store, lazy people happy, non-lazy people happy not to be kicked out dungeons right before getting reward, revenue happy. Win-win-win. -.-
