Slow (GS) skills , problem that necro has little to no stab, it will still be a CC fest on the necro. Ofcourse we haven’t seen alot yet….
Alot of streamers say that Necromancers are really strong with conditions and power, and are easy to play. Quite a shame people listen to that.
I think shouts will be powerfull or smth and that Orders will cost Lifeforce instead of Health (Gw1)

Just lower health threshold. It’s hilarious because ele’s HP goes up and down in a blink of an eye since it’s a light armor class with poor HP scaling. It can maintain survivability with boons and healing, but it cannot stay above 90% (HP scaling too low), so it becomes kinda useless and offers no synergy at all, mainly in pvp. Not to say most condition-applying skills also deal some damage high enough to grab 10% of ele’s HP.
Go try a condition necro or condition engi and say that again.
Their direct damage is so weak that they’ll never be able to break Diamond Skin.
It’s already kind of stupid to have this kind of complete counter, and you want it to be more OP instead of changing the skill entirely?
As I said , I run condi necro and I can burst diamond skin down, I run carrion. Life Blast and Putrid Mark deal quite alot of damage on a carrion build.
He has alot of good points, sadly Anet won t read it as I’ve been necro posting and no sign of a mod/Dev whatsoever.
I rly wish Anet could make something out of the remains of necro with specialisation. I rly love our class ,but the changes in comparison with other classes are just plain bad.

However I think that with some minor changes this has alot of potential, a major (at least for me) change was that Haemophilia is now merged with barbed precision, thus making room for Enfeebling Blood, which is great for obvious reasons.
Weakening Shroud (Enfeebling Blood on DS entry) was actually nerfed, because they added a 25sec ICD to it, so I´m not all to happy about that
Now, here is how the rest could be fixed:
-Terror takes its place back in master traits or is made to be the 3rd Minor trait, this is since Terror is a must have trait for any Necro condi build, hence the name “terrormancer”. The problem is that we have Terror with what is seemingly another absolutely must have trait: the revamped Lingering Curses, which received a major buff IMO.
-Path of Corruption to be moved back to GM eventhough to me, it doesnt compete with Lingering curses unless it corrupts saaay 4 boons?
-Target the Weak still contributes nothing to a condi build, I honestly think Path of Corruption (or Terror) would sit very nicely as a 3rd minor trait.
I think reshuffling the master and GM traits is a must, since Terror vs Lingering curses I think will do more harm than good to condi buildsI think having to make a choice between Terror and Lingering Curse isn´t that bad. It is basically condi-“burst” vs more condi-damage over a longer period of time, which is fine I guess.
What I don´t like about Lingering Curse is that it probably will be very powerful in PvP, but pretty useless in PvE, because you can achieve 100% increased condi-duration by other means (food) very easily. I think they should keep the condi-duration increase the way it is now (33% base condi-duration; i.e. does not count towards maximum condi-duration) and just add the +150 condi-damage while wielding scepter.The real problem is Parasitic Contagion, it doesn´t do enough for a GM trait (even with lets say ~7 stacks of bleeding, poison and 1-2 stacks of torment on your target the healing is laughable) and it really should be in Blood Magic not Curses.
That way there would also be room for a new GM trait in Curses useable by power builds (which we´ll lack otherwise, rendering Curses as a suboptimal choice for power builds).
I rly love the new lingering curse , would be a bummer if it got nerfed. And I didn t know Weakening Shroud got an ICD
I’ve tried a magi build , vampireism , blood and leeching sigil , d/d staff build in WvW. I first thought it was quite good, but then I played a normal power necro and that was much better as I did much more damage and the lifesteals didn t heal me for alot anyway.
I’ve been experimenting with this for alot , I even have the build lying around for those who are interested. I greatly recommed not to run anything like this, except if you’re doing liadri or having alot of gold.

Thank for the response. I looked up giver weapons they don’t have as much damage so not sure about changing that. But what type of armor runes should I place on my armor. The perplexity isn’t something something I’m looking for right. I have consider changing the horn to a focus for the anti boon damage.
Well try off hand dagger that’s better than warhorn (and alot better than focus) if you’re going for a non perplexity build. I use on my terrormancer Nightmare Runes for the extra fear proc and added condi duration. Giver weapons are better than normal condi damage weapons, because they give condi duration bonus, if you have alot of condi duration, the condi’s that you apply last longer, as example giving you an extra bleed tick.

Corrupt boon and Signet of Spite are always amazing in condi builds , and if you want to stay with Path of Corruption you have by far enough boon corruption. Take for the last slot a stunbreaker; I recommend Well of Power or Plague signet.
If you want to go a bit standard, but with a bit of Anti Diamond skin flair:
In WvW: Switch weapons for Giver (+ condi duration) , use carrion Armor and rabid trinkets. Use perplexity runes if you’re going for Warhorn in your offhand. Use Geomancy and Torment sigils on your weapons , you can change those to whatver you want tbh, just put on 1 weapon torment sigils. The build spread is fine , I would only change Path of Corruption out to Lingering Curse.
[Optional]You could make your staff zerker and put fire and air on it, so you can always burst diamond skin eles down.
Spvp: Build spread is fine , use nightmare runes , carrion amulet , toement sigil and geomancy, put whatever condi sigil on your staff (I use corruption and Bursting).

Well Soul Reaping GMs are already good as they are (Power = Deathly Perception, Condi= Foot in the Grave or Dumbfire), but I absolutly want a more supportive trait in Blood Magic. I only see Unholy Martyr usefull in Minion Build in combination wuth the New Necromantic Corruption or in Underwater combat. You could scale the life force gain down and make it a master/adept trait.
In Spvp/WvW (Roam) perspective; I would say yes to moving ,but no to useing. In Spvp/Wvw most builds have enough condi removal, so you don t need it to “support” your allies. Also the radius is quite small so you have to position yourself near the fight.
I would actually remove the trait or fuse it with unholy sanctuary (scaling it a bit down). This will also make DM viable for non Minion builds. I deffinitly would like to see a support trait there, as example: " Grant might to you and your allies everytime you lifesteal"

I was thinking about making a new arena which has all activities and Courtyard (crap map), so people won t have courtyard in unranked and people will probably play activities again too. So instead of having practice, unranked and ranked, it will now be practice,“fun”, unranked and ranked.

Well you could be ez and just take greater marks , fire and air on your staff, do alot of ranged attacks first and doge his GS2.Trait setup is 4/0/4/0/6 and you’ll prob beat him. Use specarm,corrupt boon and signet of spite (could be switched out for well of suffering). Use reaper mark to interupt his heal. And use chillblainst to poison him.

Mayble we become MK Kenshi. Or mayble we can use our shouts to change our “spirit” in our sword to attack and or defend. Or mayble shouts will work as kits from engi and that elite specialisation can hold 1 weapon instead of 2?

You could also count Deathly Swarm if it transfers a damaging condition, but that’s also on off-hand dagger, so.
And it grants blindness.
Blindness, which is well known for its scaling with the condition damage stat.
I know it’s a lot to ask for people to read the relevant posts immediately before the one they’re quoting in order to get context, but it would make this exercise in miscommunication a hell of a lot frustrating.

I’ve recently tried the traditional terrormancer build again after awhile, but I don’t feel like it puts as much pressure as it used to. I do hear people say that condi necro is better than power in team fights so maybe I just need some using on how to use the build properly.

First of all no it rly depends on the way you play, seccond there are some other classes that can do more damage as a power necro can. It really depends on the situation and how you play which one is better.

Because condi is often a bit more survivable than power, also other classes can do more damage than we do with power. But zerker necro is good, don t worry about metabattle just play whatever you like to (except minions their AI is poo).
Condition damage is not a must-have, but I quite like it. It gives you sustainable damage output as soon as you’ve applied your stacks, as opposed to outright burst damage. But by no means a must-have, I’m certain a power/precision/crit damage dagger or axe build is just as good.
I think that Condition damage IS a must-have.. al least for the necromancer.

I also like raising the dead, but AI often won t work.
So I was looking at the new build planner on dulfy checking out what could potentially be my necro dungeon build in HoT and as I was scrolling through the different traitlines i noticed something odd. The class specialization (DS), instead of sitting quietly in its own line (soulreaping) was splattered all over the traitlines with some of the traits being pathetically weak.
Spite : Reaper’s Might, Death Shiver
Curses: Weakened Shroud, Furious Demise, Path of Corruption
Blood Magic: Transfusion, Unholy Martyr, Deathly Invigoration
Death Magic: Armored Shroud, Shrouded Removal, Beyond the Veil, Unholy SanctuaryEach trait line is supposed to have their own focus but with DS all over the place the choices are very limited. Spite seems like the only direct damage oriented line.
Curses is conditions and death shroud Blood magic is siphon and deathshroud, death magic is minions and death shroud. Other than mesmers(which was improved a lot with the specialization changes) no other profession has the class mechanic taking choices in every single traitline nor do other class professions lock out your utilities and weapon skills. The traits seriously need another look and merging and moving has to happen if necros are to be taken seriously outside of pvp.
Ele has his class mechanic spread over every line too and now auramancer can t be run fully too. On the Necro topic, I actually rly like to have so much choices for my DS, but yeah I don t know much about PvE, except you have to stack and win.
honestly i really enjoy running into perplexity engies on my necromancer. they love plague signet.
You don t rly need plague signet for that, you could also use your other transfers. Or just corrupt boon their insta elixer B minor trait, free confusion stacks too :F
Best at using confusion has to be either mesmer or engi

Asking this since the start of OS, made countless of forum posts about it, all got ignored tears.
The dagger 5 (cloak and dagger) trick is worst of them all. Thieves can deal quite alot of damage and stay in stealth. Now with the new SA (-50% damage in stealth) more players will play that profession in WvW.
